Surprising no one, Senator Elizabeth Warren *spit* has refused to list herself as Massachusetts' first Native American™ senator.

Despite repeated claims she is “proud” of her Cherokee heritage, newly minted U.S. Sen. Elizabeth Warren is keeping that pride under wraps and won’t be taking advantage of a chance to officially list herself as the Bay State’s first Native American U.S. senator.

Aides said Warren, who describes herself as part Cherokee and part Delaware Indian, won’t contact historians at the Senate Historical Office to tell them she’s Native American. The office lists minority senators in its official directory.

The benefits of the lie are all used up, so what's the point, right? Besides, the only tribe she belongs to is The Left.

It reminds me of my friend from grad school who got a plum position at Penn as an African-American literature professor -- she happened to be a white South African.

This sort of thing will never go away, but I sure would like to see the discovery in a civil action against Warren for fraud.

I would have walked away from the transaction or demanded a refund had I already paid and made sure the bitches manager knew why they were losing a customer.

That reminds me of when I went to Fleet Farm to see if they had any 30 round PMAGs a couple of weeks ago (right at the start of the panic) and I found a peghook with about 20 windowed mags for $20 a piece. The price isn't great, but it isn't gouging either so I grabbed 4, two for me and two for a friend. At the checkout the pierced face cashier asked me, "Do you really need 4 of these?" in a smartassed tone. I replied, "You know, you're right. I need all of them that you have. I'll be right back." I think you mean Gerry Studds in regards to the page scandal, but those are fighting words. Curley may have been a crook, but he had a genuine appreciation for the city and its traditions, as well as being a champion of Western culture. Zoning laws have progressed so far in most jurisdictions, with rule upon rule upon rule, that HOAs usually serve no legitimate need beyond pooling funds for common area maintenance. But like any position of power, HOA board members will invariably abuse their position to exert control over their neighbors.

No and I have to go back at 2. It's just setting dates for stuff, which is why I can do it, but I am not dressed for court. The only person who this bothers is me but it bothers me a lot.

Something interesting did happen while I was waiting though. A case before ours involves an action to declare someone who is missing to be dead and the judge and the lawyers were going through what had to be done because it's incredibly rare that a petition to do that gets filed. Frankly, I never thought I'd ever get to see anything about one outside of tv. Even the judge said that this is only the second one he's seen in nearly 30 years.

All it takes is one easily manipulated and mentally unstable nutcase (or group of nutcases) to discredit legitimate resistance to federal overreach as 'fringe' and 'extremist' (and of course the usual'racist', 'paranoid', and 'xenophobic' pejoratives). They don't need to set a Reichstag fire. All they need to do is create the conditions, sit back, and wait for the spark.

More specifically, how many dead feds would it take to reintroduce an evenmore restrictive and all-encompassing version of the assault weapons ban?

Zoning causes ghettos. Once an area is zoned "low income housing" it is doomed.
