BCS Championship

Lemme tell you about Alabama and Notre Dame cheerleaders pics (the ones on the field I'll use, not those naughty things you go lookin after with Safe Search on the browser set to "get arrested").

They's pretty conservative. And they tend to cover the elbows. Don't mean the elbows aren't dangerous, any more than a holstered gun can't shoot ya once it's pulled.

That's about as stupid as I'd care to be I guess. My prediction, if Alabama scores 17 points, they keep scoring and win. Otherwise Notre Dame takes the title.

You know how good I am at this so don't put your money where my mouth is.

11 Normally I'd root for Notre Dame simply b/c I'm sick of hearing the media say how unstoppable the SEC is (that's why I picked Louisville vs Florida last week), but they're an embarrassment to observant Catholics.

My dad still has a blind spot for them, though, so I'll probably wind up rooting for them half-heartedly.

15 Y-not, it's a sign of how deep the rot is that even with fete-ing the tyrant, they're probably still one of the most observant Catholic schools around (Steubenville excepted). My nephew was appalled when I told him of the single-sex dorms, each of which has a chapel and numerous Mass times, as well as parietal hours and the "in loco parentis" rule.

However, because of the way they treated the tyrant, they'll get not another dime from me. I still love the football, though.

Kilts and big tall hats--and the dudes are tall to begin with: one of the hard and fast rules is that they're ALL exactly the same height, 6'2". When I was there a 6'2" girl tried out, but didn't make it, thank God.

Do you honestly believe the score is 28-0? Really? Does that make any sense? Of course not. That's preposterous. It's not possible.

It's just early reporting from the big cities. They are counting their votes early to depress turnout in the heartland.

The only way they win is with these underhanded fake half-time score tactics.

Don't believe these "scores". I've heard that Notre Dame's internal polls show them up 7.

492 Eddie Lacey is pretty impressive.

Posted by: Ernie McCracken at January 07, 2013 10:28 PM (ZETiK)

493 It may be a little late for the throwing game too.

Posted by: mare at January 07, 2013 10:28 PM (A98Xu)

494 Eddie Lacey is pretty impressive.

He was hurting in the back half of the season with a bum wheel. Apparently he's healthy now.

495 It's Lacy, Mr Lacy.

Posted by: Dr Spank at January 07, 2013 10:31 PM (4cRnj)

496 Shouldn't they be transporting that trophy to the other sideline?

Posted by: Dr Spank at January 07, 2013 10:32 PM (4cRnj)

497 ND is clearly the best team. Alabama is mainly lucky. Bama has a few advantages. I'll admit they appear to be better at running, tackling, throwing, and catching. But the whole is more than the sum of their parts. ND is clearly superior in a gestalt way even if they appear to an untrained eye as grossly inferior in all the specific, actual techniques of football playing.

Posted by: Flatbush Joe at January 07, 2013 10:32 PM (ZPrif)

498 Just remember, Notre Dame sucked giant hairy monkey balls till a filthy Scandi taught the "Irish" how to play.

Besides, what of worth has ND wrought ? Alabama has conquered in the culture wars...

Flatbush Joe,

You must work for NBC Sports.

:-P

500 Is that filthy scandi Holtz, the Jew?

Posted by: mare at January 07, 2013 10:37 PM (A98Xu)

501 Two long drives to eat up the clock. The first by Notre Dame just to turn the ball over on Alabama's 3. The second by Alabama, 97 yards to a touchdown.

35-0 with half of the third quarter left.

Posted by: Looking Glass at January 07, 2013 10:38 PM (g3wOT)

502 Wow. Think Saban's making some kind of statement here??

Posted by: Tex Lovera at January 07, 2013 10:38 PM (mN2eS)

503 Notre Dame's letting Alabama get overconfident, then they'll move in for the kill. Just watch.

Is that Kelly deal as a Dem delegate the real deal?

Yep

OK, everyone drinking shots with each ND touchdown....time for a sympathy shot! Maybe if we start now we can still get drunk enough that tomorrow at work we can claim "we don't remember exactly what happened"....

Posted by: MrObvious at January 07, 2013 10:40 PM (NlAiP)

506 Don't know if I can take Karl Rove's word for it.

Posted by: mare at January 07, 2013 10:41 PM (A98Xu)

507 Notre Dame fans paid >$1k per ticket for this.

35-0

Saban got an extension on his contract ... with Lucifer.

510 TD ND

No Skunk.

511 Phew....finally. And I'm not even rooting for ND.

512 oh yeah here we go the greatest comeback ever!!!

Posted by: big swingin package at January 07, 2013 10:49 PM (OZtuG)

513 That was handed to ND. And really, that was roughing the passer? Really?

Posted by: mare at January 07, 2013 10:49 PM (A98Xu)

514 it would tied if not for those 2 bad calls in the first half...we got screwed!!!

Posted by: Jerrry Faust and Lou Holtz at January 07, 2013 10:50 PM (OZtuG)

515 "500 Is that filthy scandi Holtz, the Jew?"

Nope, Knute Rockne, who was also from Chicago, which just about says it all. His only rl accomplishment was having a polar bear cub named after him.

Posted by: W. von Braun, 163 V2 Strasse, Huntsville at January 07, 2013 10:56 PM (YfVqC)

516 Well, Knute was pretty awesome.

Posted by: mare at January 07, 2013 11:00 PM (A98Xu)

517 ND defense is winded. Now we'll run it down their throats.

I do hope you guys get to see Drake in this quarter.

I suspect that if Alabama scores a TD on this drive, lots of subs will be coming in on offense.

Posted by: toby928© Alabama Alumnus and Native Texan, now with twice the insufferability at January 07, 2013 11:01 PM (QupBk)

518 Notre Dame has NO BUSINESS playing for anyone's national championship.

Posted by: Al From Bay shore at January 07, 2013 11:08 PM (H7qBA)

519 My Sunday School teacher is a big ND fan. Kinda strange for East Texas, eh?

Posted by: EROWMER at January 07, 2013 11:09 PM (kxlCQ)

520 Notre Dame's got Alabama right where they want 'em

Posted by: CraigPoe at January 07, 2013 11:10 PM (BVkEs)

521 Welcome to the SEC, ND.

I'm glad Alabama is smoking them, I made some dumb bold proclamation that if they lost to ND, the SEC would be dead to me. They would have proved they were over-rated.

Whew.

Posted by: mare at January 07, 2013 11:11 PM (A98Xu)

522 "516 Well, Knute was pretty awesome."

Meh - he was no Isadore "Crazy Legs Eddie" Rubinowitz.

Posted by: toby928© Alabama Alumnus and Native Texan, now with twice the insufferability at January 07, 2013 11:22 PM (QupBk)

527 "523 Yeah, Crazy Legs could really move."

Yep, too bad he never got to face off against Rockne to see whether the forward pass was more effective than the forward schlepp.

Posted by: W. von Braun, 163 V2 Strasse, Huntsville at January 07, 2013 11:23 PM (YfVqC)

528 Go ahead and google Katherine Webb images for the real reason why this game rocks.
