Democrats Introduce 8 Anti-Gun Laws on First Day of Work

For some definitions of "work."

Rep. Carolyn McCarthy (D-NY) led the way with four bills introduced.

...

But McCarthy wasn’t alone. Rep. Bobby Rush (D-IL), apparently ignoring the fact that his heavily gun-controlled home city of Chicago is the nation’s leader in murder with guns, introduced legislation that would create more stringent licensing for gunowners. So did Rep. Rush Holt (D-NJ).

And Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D-TX) proposed a bill that would prevent anyone under age 21 from carrying a handgun – even though people of 18 can vote and serve in the military.

But wait – there’s more! Rep. Jim Moran (D-VA) pushed forward a bill requiring background checks on all gun sales, which would essentially prevent non-gun-shop transfers of weapons.

6 The American Revolution started when the Brits went to Concord to try and seize the Americans' arsenal there. And, of course, a basic issue was taxation. The Americans didn't like it.

So now the two big issues of the last week have been guns and taxes.

Justice Roberts would like it because it's kind of like a tax.

As used in this part, “composite knuckles” means any device or instrument made wholly or partially of composite materials, other than a medically prescribed prosthetic, that is not metal knuckles, that is worn for purposes of offense or defense in or on the hand, and that either protects the wearer’s hand while striking a blow or increases the force of impact from the blow or injury to the individual receiving the blow.

She first ran for the job in 2010 and lost the primary to Vinnie Liebel, who was being prosecuted for corruption charges at the time. Went Liebel was convicted and went to prison shortly after becoming County Exec, O'Dell won the special election to replace him. For the record, I voted for Liebel over her, but I'm glad to see her stand up to the gun grabbers, maybe I'll vote for her in the primary next year.

236 I don't know why Republicans don't follow suit and submit their own gun control laws, as in "less" gun control, "commonsense" gun control and ."responsible" gun control.

For instance, why not amend the Sandy bills requiring shall issue to all states and municipalities tied to government grants and other largesse they receive? Just about all the major states which have a stake in the Hurricane Sandy relief appear to be only May Issue. Make relief dependent on state law being Shall Issue, which is sensible preparation as a precaution in emergency planning for such catastrophes as Hurricanes and their aftermath. Are Democrats support ensuring the safety of the public during catastrophes, or not?

Maybe some portion of the Sandy funding should be dedicated to municipality funding education programs in firearm education, training and responsible possession and use in, um, cities. Are the Dems against education for those hardest hit by disasters, the urban poor and people of color?

IOW, start stealing their catch phrases, make them vote against their cherished expansion of government, and make them out to be the ones always saying no and holding up legislation or the ones who won't 'do something!'

A good side issue here is that with the media politicizing everything, getting answers to basic questions like the one above are next to impossible. And if that’s the case then what the hell is the point of discussing anything whatsoever. Just implement tyranny and be done with it.

One of the things a monolothic, ideologically inbred media industry does to society is create uncertainty and distrust and conflict between people who get their news from them and people who actually try to find out what happened.

Most people also don't have a source of information they can trust as they don't know how to research and they were taught intellectual helplessness in school. Apathy is no accident.

Also, there is a place nearby here where you can take your 80% lower receiver, give them some cash, push a button on their CNC machine and 8 minutes later, you have a complete and untraceable lower receiver. Maybe this is common knowledge here, maybe not, but you might want to see if you can find the book, Unintended Consequences by John Ross. It's sorta a gun-nut cult book, but well worth the read. Ross weaves a historical novel about the history of our gun laws, and where these laws will take us. It is not a pretty picture, but unfortunately, quite accurate.
I bought my copy at a gun show years ago and I think I spent $30 or so. Today, Amazon has copies for $350 new/$138 used and I've seen them go for as much as $500 new. Yes: Many are panic-buying anything and everything related to guns (Cheaper-than-Dirt is selling AR magazines for $100 a pop. Used.) and some are even panic-buying books about guns.
