So if the Republican leadership is as weak and feckless as everyone seems to think they are, don't we want the House to sign on to the BM (Biden-McConnell, or anything else you want it to be) Bill tonight, to lock in the Bush tax rates for all incomes under $400K? Because if not, then *everyone's* taxes will go up and there will be no way that our W&F leadership will be able to convince more than 10% of our fellow citizens that the fault lies with anyone other than the Republicans. If we don't sign on- then O gets the massive tax increase he really wants (and needs), and he gets the Repubs to pay the political price. It stinks- but it seems to be the best we can hope for, for now.

Yeah. It's not just about ideology. It's about the ability to get the job done. Except that that ability is predicated on the voters being receptive to a small government message. Warn them to be ready to get out. What is going to happen is not going to be mitigated by family attachments. When the deliveries to the high density areas stop, things will get ugly fast. The only real difference in how things play out is the sequence of events and their spacing. If the EBT cards stop working while the shelves are still being stocked, that will be a different scenario than if everything stops at once. But it will look pretty much the same from a decade's distance. Posted by: epobirs at January 01, 2013 05:35 PM (kcfmt) 66

Editing and proofing are different skill sets that is for sure OSP. But that is what a writers group is for. Though thick skin is required to accept the critiques.
We turned into a good intentioned vicious circle with one writer. First sin he committed was a super long prolog to set the background. I've been told 2 things by every democrat I know. 1) Bush's tax rates caused the economic downturn. 2) Clinton tax rates were caused the greatest economic boom in the world. oh - and as a side note - the Bush tax rate cuts were for the rich only, but now affect everyone. All of a sudden this "fiscal cliff" is the removal of the evil bush tax cuts and the return of the triumphant Clinton tax rates.... and the economic mess it would cause is the republican fault? I used to be a pretty sharp poker player. One thing I learned quickly is that any player who plays scared is easy pickings.
Scared players get bullied. Playing not to lose just bleeds off your chips. Eventually you'll lose them all through attrition. Winning players are willing to make big plays and take strategic risks. Boehner and McConnell play scared. 34What's with the meme of the GOP having gerrymandered districts and only being in power because of it? I noticed it has become a frequent statement by comment trolls on news websites and wonder if it is part of a concerted campaign to establish a lie as truth to low information voters. Posted by: BlueFalcon in Boston at January 01, 2013 05:23 PM (KCvsd) ---------- They're probably saying that...because that is exactly what the Dems do. Several blue states lost seats recently, due to the decline in their populations. Districts had to be redrawn as a result, and in blue states the redrawing was done by Dems. Red states that gained seats...because of people flocking there to find jobs...had to redraw their district lines too. This happened in Florida. But the result was a loss for Allen West, whose district was redrawn to become a more Dem-leaning district. So in that instance...the Florida GOP screwed itself, and Allen West. @106, I find it very suspicious, but we will NEVER know the truth.
I find it hard to believe the stated order of things: 1) Hillary has the stomach flu 2) Hillary gets so dehydrated from the stomach flu that she passes out (really? One of the most important women in the world is so sick that she's becoming dangerously dehydrated, and there's no one there to keep an eye on her and bring her some Gatorade? Bullshit). 3) Hillary falls down after passing out and gives herself a concussion. 4) Weeks after the concussion, she has a "routine" (on a Sunday?) medical examination that finds a blood clot. Again, we'll never know what happened, but I don't believe what we've been told. Having said that, if she is genuinely ill, I wish her a swift and complete recovery. I bought some 100W's incandescent the other day for infrequently used attic lights. I think WMT had'em. He pulled out his megaphone and told them, "Just walk away..we've all lost friends...just walk away!" And that will be the tone. Just quietly walk away. Give over this gun. And now this one. And now we need this item from you. And now this chotchkey. And thus the slipperly slope. someone made a point about police or the national guard showing up to get your guns. I'm hoping and praying that most of those NG and cops are like us (well, all the ones I know are) and will collectively say that they swore an oath to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States- and so will not be a party to disarming anyone. What cop with any sense of self-preservation would take that assignment? No, they'll try to do what they've done in so many other places. A little more restriction here, a few more banned models there. Pass a law establishing max ammo capacity? Step 1. Then you push to pass the revision that cuts that capacity by 10%. Then another 10%. This is why they have to be opposed now. When some idiot asks if he should be allowed to keep a howitzer in his back yard, I say yes. Most people simply aren't going to find it a useful thing to do. It takes up a lot of space just to store, never mind test fire occasionally. And the consumables aren't cheap. Posted by: epobirs at January 01, 2013 06:58 PM (kcfmt) 251

I'm more concerned about the Federal law enforcement agencies than anything. They'll be more likely to have an "us vs. them" attitude towards the citizenry.
Local police will probably side with the people in rural areas, and with the government in urban areas. The suburbs, as I said earlier, will be where it gets interesting. Well you could say KimK stole her looks from Tiger Girl since she comes from about ten years ago I think.

The apparent age of the figure and the pose, that is why.

Or this one of Ayanami Rei who is still in high school, about age 14. From Neon Genesis Evangelion. But the modelers figure they can get away with it since in the original TV series Rei is merely a clone and sexual toy for Ikari Gendou who is old enough to be her father. And did I mention Rei is a modified clone from Gendou's dead wife Yui?
