I watched Dr. Who some years ago for part of a season and thought it was dumb.

If you can swing both, I'd go that way. NRA is much bigger, and has more clout, even though they did endorse Harry Reid. This was done, I believe, because they see issues, rather than politicians.
Goa seems to be the prime challenger here, so membership in both orgs in my opinion would be desirable.

I've read that the closest modern accent to English of 300 years ago is the modern southern accent.
After the Revolutionary war the American south had fewer connections to England then most of the parts of the Anglosphere, and as the English accent evolved it influenced the British colonies and the American northeast more.

Probably true, but "most-produced" round (perhaps 7.62x39) is not the same as most widely available. I think that virtually every store that has rifle ammo has .243 (probably .223 too) ... but .243 has been a hunting round for 50+ years, and so isn't as likely to be suddenly ... regulated

Most regular business travelers are fairly polite, more "normal" travelers are a mess. Yeah, and people dress like slobs, too.
I was on a long international flight home to the US a few months ago, and sat near the back of the plane. When I walked out (nearly last one), it was unbelievable what a mess the rest of the passengers had made of the plane. It was a pig sty.

My wife and I shake our heads every time we go out to do our shopping on Saturdays. We usually hit the grocery store at about 5pm, and the amount of people we see in their pajamas is fucking unbelievable. Almost as unbelievable was seeing teenagers and young adults in their pj's on Christmas Eve at our church's Midnight service.
But sadly, I saw this kind of behavior 20 years ago when a dj I worked with at a radio station would wear the same shirt every day for a week. Not washed, just picked up off the floor and put back on. By Friday, he had crumbs and shit on it from the previous week, and his sloppy attire was definitely a reflection on his sloppy work ethic.

You are clearly correct about the LE calibers ... the only problem is, which one? They vary more than they did 50 years ago. .357/.38, .44M/.44spc, .40/.357Sig (will a 10mm fire .40?) ... 2 revolvers, 1 auto, 2 if you're willing to try 9mm. I'm inclined to stick with a .45 1911, and maybe see how well swapping in .38 Super, 9mm and other barrels (and magazines) work.
Military: 7.62 and 5.56 ... unless you're near a military base, the various Reserve units aren't likely to have much. They have the weapons, but not tens of thousands of rounds. Lugging around a 25mm is problematic ...
I'd rather have a reloading setup, various dies, primers, powder and a manual, ... and not waste a lot of brass. This may not be terribly mobile ... but it's a bit more mobile than 5000 rounds ( times 'n' calibers), and allows deals to be made ... which points me towards hunting calibers, like .243, .308, as well as the various military and LE calibers..

As per your question, it isn't surprising to me that Obama would do this, given O's animosity and outright antagonism towards Israel. The main problem with the plane "gift" isn't so much the planes. Egypt's military, while large, is still rife with corruption and inefficiency particularly in their NCO ranks. Part of the reason for Egypt's early successes in the Yom Kippur war was that Saddat had some success in reforming the Egyptian military NCO corps. Ever since Egypt's defeat, the military never got back that quasi-edge they obtained under Saddat. Furthermore, IAF pilots are vastly superior to Egyptian pilots.
The problem is the planes will undoubtedly force Israel to consider Egypt's shiny new toys, (along with Morsi's, shall-we-say, less than warm attitude towards Israel), when planning allocation of military forces for 2013 and on. This may have not been so much of a problem in the past, but there's that little civil-war going on in Syria which could potentially draw the Israelis into an military response, esp if Assad's chemical toys get loosed.
2013 is not shaping up to be a good year for a multitude of reasons.

I have some micro fiber khakis that I can wear for over week, and the damn things never get dirty or smell. BUT, this guy would wear a shirt that he spilled his food on, constantly. So by the end of the week, it was covered in food. And he ate constantly. He was the morning DJ, and he was never asked by the salespeople to do paid appearances because of his appearance.
Wearing a 5 day old shirt on a body that hasn't showered in 24 hours doesn't make for a pleasant experience in a confined radio control room.

Two problems w/ this. The first is the assumption that almost anyone who voted for Obama would even be reading this. It's gone from preaching to the choir to insulting the choir because no one who's not in the choir is even listening.
The second is the idea that anyone under 250/200 thousand is even going to blame Obama, when he travels the Country after Jan 1 shouting to anyone who will listen "I'll lower taxes on the 98% today, if the Republicans will get it to my desk today!"
We're never going to win a national election again, until we develop a fact and evidence based electoral strategy. Part of that is seeing how other people see us. I understand your frustration, but try to get out more and your points will be better.

Plenty of drunks out at noon on a Monday. I meet my mom for lunch every week, and at one of the places we eat there are always a group of older women having a few glasses of wine with lunch, and these are big glasses of wine, and women in their 60's and 70's. Working with and having alcoholics in my family opened my eyes as to how many drunks are on the road at 10am.

Speed Six and the almost identical GP-100 (many parts LOOK like they should interchange), both in .357: strong recommendation. No experience with the Redhawk or the Super Redhawk but their reputations are quite high. Not a fan of single action; I'd rather not have to use one. One of the last times I went out partying on New Year's Eve was about 22 years ago. I was double dating with another couple and he was driving. He made the turn onto a divided highway but didn't make it to the correct way, he went the wrong way, but he realized in about 20 feet into it and drove across the median to get to the other side. Since that night, if we go out, I don't drink at all, and we are at home by about 11pm.
Sorry if I freaked you out, but in the last few years, I have had to start doing all the defensive driving techniques that I was taught 30+ years ago. People have gotten real bad driving especially ignoring traffic lights, stop signs, and "directional arrows" painted on the pavement and on signs at stoplights.

Evening Saturday, sctually Sunday morning lurker, It's been a while since I paid $.99 a gallon for gas. We dipped below $3 for about a week and are up to $3.40 now.
On another note, I used Yahoo to search for doorbells a couple days ago and by coincidence I am seeing doorbells advertised when I sign in to AOS. HMMMM! Curious and curiouser.

Did almost the same thing today, but I only got the gas for $1.35. It has been many years since the gas digits were moving at the same speed as the dollar digits. $25 bucks to gas up the Grand Cherokee felt awfully good.
We have gotten to the point where we go to Kroger and get the gift cards for dinners, shopping, and other things so that we get the 4X gas points. That was how we were able to get the $1.80 a gallon off this month. Used the cards for Christmas shopping and Christmas gifts.

1. Japan has been able to pull off this trick since about 1990. They have a debt to gdp ratio of about 200%. The point being, the Fed will probably be able to work their magic for a lot longer than people expect.
2. The US has quite a bit to fall back on: the USG has about 650 million acres of land it can sell, over 8 thousand tons of gold,some 750 million bbls of oil.
3. Not being the worlds reserve currency might not be all that bad. If the US wasn't the reserve currency, trade flowsto the USfrom ROW would be more balanced. I'm skeptical though that it would happen without opec seriously moving in that direction, which would include liquidating US based and US dollar denominatedassets in their sovereign wealth funds.

Ihave a searching criticism of that. One the US hasn't "switched" places with the USSR. The USSR exported terror and misery in full measure worldwide and its collapse was one of the best things to happen to this world. The world is still suffering from the wounds of Cold War. The US is going through a period of economic and political weakness as we have done though other periods of our history. Just because the fashionable elite opinion today is decline and weakness doesn't mean that we can't or won't change course.
