1 Good Morning Morons. Today is Saturday, December 29, 2012. On this day in 1170 Thomas Becket, Archbishop of Canterbury, was murdered by four knights acting under the orders of Henry II. The killing was done as a result of a conflict between the King and the Pope in Rome over who had authority in England. Henry II is said to have uttered the infamous phrase “will no one rid me of this turbulent priest”. That, however, is in dispute. Henry VIII not to be outdone by his predecessor had him disinterred and his bones destroyed when he dissolved the monasteries in his fight with Rome.

What are the lessons learned here? All tyrants are jealous of their power and will do all they can to retain it and expand it. Much like the conflict between Syria and its rebels, there are no “good guys” here.

4 In addition to the Fiscal Tax cliff the $1T Obamacare Tax hike will hit Jan 1. Yes, elections have consequences for real people. Not so much for the FSA. In addition the so-called fiscal cliff taxes will be much more than that. Obama gets what he wants, tax hikes out the ass and he gets to blame Republicans because the MFM sucks his balls daily.

BTW, some estimate this new tax at $1.7T

6 And speaking of assholes “will AZ ever rid us of this turbulent shit”?

Sens. John McCain (R-Ariz.) and Carl Levin (D-Mich.) say they are leading the effort to avert Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid’s (D-Nev.) threat to use the “nuclear option,” a controversial maneuver that would change Senate rules with a simple majority vote.

McCain making deals with one of the worst pieces of shit in the Senate can not be a good outcome. Let asshole Reid end the filibuster and wait for Republicans taking back the Senate. But here is the “deal”.

McCain, Levin and other senators have proposed speeding up the Senate’s business by issuing a standing order at the start of the 113th Congress in January. It would allow Reid to sunset the change of procedure after two years.

IOW, let the Dems have the “no filibuster” and then when there is a chance for Republicans to take it then they end it.

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The note penned by William Spengler Jr. prior to his deadly ambush of volunteer firefighters in Webster, N.Y., explained how a former neighbor and her daughter helped him acquire the guns he used in the attack, according to law enforcement officials with knowledge of the investigation.

The officials, speaking on condition of anonymity, said Thursday that criminal charges against at least one, perhaps both, of the women were imminent.

I've scratched my head from day one about that. I thought he used nothing but a 9mm, which was why so many died, so few survived -- and the report said the rifle was in the car. Then I heard that he shot his victims between 4 and 11 times apiece, which might speak to the .22 rifle.

Taxes here are highly dependent on where exactly you live. Out in the sticks where I am at with my imported sunshine it runs about $1,000 a year for a 1500 ft2 house on 1.5 acres.

125 Good riddance to 2012.

In 2008 the Republican Party was hosed due to the war and the tanking economy, but mainly the tanking economy, and instead of a serious contest between the parties we got an important question within the Democratic Party which settled the question: does feminism rule, or is it really all about race? Race it is.

Four years of bad government followed.

2012 was much worse. The Republican Party put up a better team (in my opinion), and anyway a sick dog should have been enough to beat Obama after four years of very bad government and a bad economy. I thought the next question was going to be, what can a corporate turn-around expert do with a nation that's in such a mess? Instead we got an unwanted but clear answer the question, was 2008 a fluke or has America really changed for the worse?

America has really changed for the worse. I blame mass immigration. Since 1965 America has imported a new nation, and the new nation is incompatible with and not as good as the old one. Also, Hollywood and the mass media deserve a lot of blame. And conservatives lack effective political representation, as the Republican Party is useless.

Is this the final word? I don't believe that. I think in the next four presidential cycles, conservatives will wake up and make things happen.

I think in sixteen years, people will look back and say, that looked like the end, with Barack Obama being re-elected despite four years of mismanagement and a bad economy, and nothing but bad news upcoming on the demographic front. But it wasn't. Once the right stopped believing that the future was going to take care of itself or that establishment politicians were going to take care of them, that was when the anti-White left stopped having a free run. The right people woke up at last, and started turning America around.

I'd rather look like a complete idiot in years to come for having said that than be a "smart" pessimist. I'm posting this where people will remember and mock me if I was wrong. I do believe, against all odds: go USA!

I will temper your optimism with this, Obama will more than likely get to name 3 possibly 4 Supreme Court Justices over the next 4 years.

It's possible that Scalia, Kennedy, Ginsberg and Breyer retire before Obama leaves office that would give the liberals 6 of 9 with Roberts continuing to "grow" that would be a 7-9 deathlock on the Supreme Court.

149 #145 When Kroger was building the new grocery store here back in the 90's, the ads kept calling it "The Store of the Future."

My daughter's entire 2nd grade class worked themselves into paroxysms of excitement. When I went to do my volunteer reading hour they told me all sorts of stuff the store would have: conveyor belts on the aisles so you didn't have to walk, robots, flying carts (yes!) and other unbelievable stuff they had imagined from hearing that word "future."

All it was was a big grocery store with a video rental thing in the center and annoying TV ads on the carts when you went past certain items.

Both vireo store and TV ad carts were gone within 3 years, and it was simply a big grocery store.

I still liked the idea of flying shopping carts, which your post reminded me of.

169 The Republic died in 1861 when the central gov't declared itself the power to prevent withdrawal by use of an invading army.

Assuming it could survive the death of the principle of independence itself, the Republic most certainly died in 1913 with the creation of a central bank and the mandatory use of its paper currency, along with the imposition of income taxation.

Obama is just the effect of these root causes. A thin-skinned, pitiful, clownish effect who has to lie about his background to get through life. That's how little is required now to advance the agenda that was put in place when the Grand Army of the North locked the doors, and they handed full control of our money to bankers.

It's going to take a lot more than a guy like Romney and a good Get Out the Vote system to undo these problems.

I've been wondering about the Great Silence for a while now. There are many facts that point to government's role in our current situation, most notably the CRA. There was some study recently released that says what the Horde already knows: the housing crash was caused by it and TFG helped. Yet most of our fellow citizens know next to nothing about it. Ditto with TFG's wild spending beginning with his term.

Why the Great Silence? Why is nobody in the media or in DC saying anything about the causes, pointing well-deserved fingers and offering real solutions? I just don't get it.

This is by no means an isolated occurrence. NAFTA destroyed manufacturing (and my career, thanks a lot, BJ Cliton) and there are many laws and regulations pushed by the idiots in DC that run counter to both the Constitution and capitalism. 2013 U.S. federal budget
The government is currently operating under the Continuing Appropriations Resolution, 2013 (Pub.L. 112-175), which provides funding through March 27, 2013. It was signed by President Obama on September 28, 2012.[12]
***

"A new executive order has been issued providing for a new pay schedule beginning 'on the first day of the first applicable pay period beginning after March 27, 2013,'"
****

The order:
By the authority vested in me as President by the Constitution and the laws of the United
States of America, including section 114(b) of the Continuing Appropriations Resolution, 2013 (Public Law 112–175), which provides that any statutory adjustments to current levels in certain pay schedules for civilian Federal employees may take effect on the first day of the first applicable pay period beginning after the date specified in section 106(3) of Public Law 112–175,

Exactly. That demonstrates the genius of the Founders. They had studied history and human nature. They knew that people were imperfect, and that political leaders were prone to corruption and power-grabbing. Rather than pretend that those tendencies didn't exist, they sought to decentralize them as much as possible.

Much of our history ever since has been about the gradual undoing of the system that the Founders created. That has now largely run its course, and we are back to the form of government most common in history: oligarchy, featuring an entrenched, increasingly hereditary ruling class which believes that laws don't apply to them.

232 A New Haven attorney is asking permission to sue the state for $100 million on behalf of a student who survived the mass shooting at a Newtown school.

Pinsky said the student has been traumatized by the killings, and accused the state of failing to protect students from "foreseeable harm."

Yeah, what do you want to bet those shitbag parents are Obama voters.

The Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service, created in 1947, is an independent U.S. government agency whose mission is to preserve and promote labor-management peace and cooperation. Headquartered in Washington, DC, with 10 district offices and 67 field offices, the agency provides mediation and conflict resolution services to industry, government agencies and communities.

Yet another reason we are screwed.

248 Joke? Nope.
Who was it Bama lost to? Oh, that's right. That former Big 12 team with a Big 12 offense.
If Bama or Georgia would have played K-State, OU, Baylor, OSU and Texas Tech or TCU, they both lose 3 of the 5 games.
The SEC had a couple of good to very good teams at the top of each division. The rest of their schedule, cupcakes.
Playing a Big 12 schedule this year, brutal.
But I guess we'll find out when the smoke clears in a couple of weeks.

252 @ 229......

Yeah...maaaaybe. Trying to give them the benefit of the doubt here, but man, it's hard.

I think the left has the market on frivolous or inappropriate lawsuits cornered. Not saying Conservatives never do it, but.....usually.

My concern is threefold:

1) I am sorry for their child, but at least their child is still alive. I mean, I was expecting something like this from someone who actually LOST their child. Not saying I would be on board with it, but for the first lawsuit to come not from someone who experienced true loss is saddening.

2) Supposedly the child experienced trauma from hearing the scuffling on the intercom. Okay, there were what, 700 kids in the school that may have heard it. $100 mil times 700, you do the math. Further, it was put on the intercom purposely, so that teachers and aides could protect their students. Sure, a more calm alert would have been ideal, but sometimes, it hits the fan, and you do the best you have with the best you got.

3) They are trying to sue, stating that the board of education and the school itself was partially to blame. You have to be kidding me. The teachers inside the school put their lives at risk and in some cases, sacrificed their lives for these children. Plus, this school has a higher technology of security than most schools, especially more than most public schools. I fail to see what the school did wrong.

Are armed guards an answer? I dunno. All it would take is for some nuts gunman to catch the guard looking away for one second, shoot the guard, and then all hell breaks loose anyway. Plus, the US cannot even afford a pack of gum.....somehow it is going to be able to shell out the cash for armed guards in every public school in the country?

It doesn't matter what the school did wrong. And the case mentioned above about the government not having to protect people is not applicable in this case.

What is at fault is here is out society of of lawyer-legislators who make it easy as hell to sue AND collect through joint and several liability. Take the stupid glass window in the door thing. What rational person puts a glass window in a door next to the lock?

If the lawyer can convince 51% of the jury of stupids that the school was even partially at fault then they can be forced to pay 100% of the settlement and jackpot litigation wins again.

And the jury will be "jury-rigged" to be 99% Free Shit Army

255 @68, we have two pieces of paid off property. One is a small suburban ranch that costs $3500 in property taxes (WA state). The other piece has an old mobile, that we can't replace since it's on a flood zone. That one is $1500 a year. Since we are behind on both places, every year it is a stretch to figure out a way to come up with the taxes. One year, they gave us an extra three months to come up with it, because they had so many properties in foreclosure. You never own this stuff. And the state can always tell you what to do with it.

We have this law about cutting down trees. This is an area that the Indians and Hudson Bay cleared out long ago. And the law applies to trees that you planted on the property. It's entertaining to watch the local cable show, when they drag folks in for code enforcement. You'll see these middle class types, that feel they did every thing right. They cut down a dead tree, cleaned up afterwards and planted a new tree. Yet they still get fined. Even if you buy the stupid permits, it doesn't actually mean you have a permit to cut down the tree. I guess the next thing will be requiring permits to cut flowers in your own yard.

256 I absolutely do not subscribe to any of the MSM newspapers. Having said that I noticed the font page article on a local paper (Macatchy group or Gannett) by a ap reporter thatmentionedthe school children murders and then told abut how gun and ammunition sales are unprecedented. I guess this prog/liberal nitwit would have us to believe that the prog politicians and the rest of the left screaming for gun control had nothing to do with the surge in sales. Prog stupidity is a mystery to behold. Did these politicians not think that if you tell the public they can't have something the pubic will just say ok whatever you think is best for me and my family. The good news is that many ammunition and gun manufacturers will increase production, add hours and hire employees. So maybe we should follow the money and see if the progs have interests in these companies?

258 I never knew the General was at the same place and time as I was in Vietnam. All too familiar. I was on the Batangan Penninsula at the same time as the incident cited when he came to the rescue of a Company trapped in a mine field. At the time, I was with Co. D 5/46th 198th Americal. January 1970-July 1971. Everyday, we went out on patrol. Sometimes a sniper shot one of us or someone stepped on a mine. We used to discuss the options of loosing two legs vs loosing one hand. My best case scinario was getting shot by a sniper. That was easy. Either you lived or you died. Simple. As far as loosing limbs, if that card came my way, I hoped I would keep my knee joints. That would be a big plus. The only good thing was when we killed one of them. We got a case of beer. One day, we killed someone, but got a case of orange soda. I was told it was because the person credited for the kill was only 17 and thus not old enough to drink beer. I've never read anyone relate that fact, so if you think I'm making it up, think again. By the way, crawling into a tunnel with a bayonet was a visceral rush you can't believe.
