If It Weren't For Drama Majors and Clown College Graduates, I Just Wouldn't Know What To Think About Issues

Awesome. Many of the usual suspects, but some fresh, disappointing faces, like Amy Poehler and Rasida Jones and Jeremy Renner (who carries a gun and shoots people in every movie he makes, except for the ones where he carries a bow and shoots people).

How come every Celebrities-Endorse-a-Policy-or-Candidate commercial is the exact same type -- each one saying one or two words, that word repeated by multiple speakers with minor variations, etc.? Like this:

People.

People.

People who need.

Need.

People.

People who need people.

Are the luckiest.

Luckiest.

People.

In the world.

In the world.

Hmph, I thought these were creative types. How come it's always the same g-damn thing?

16 These are folks that get paid to pretend they are someone they are not.

Why should I accept anything they say as sincere?

Applies equally to actors and/or politicians.

Posted by: Joe Mama at December 26, 2012 04:51 PM (v9Cj5)

17 Celeberities do the liberal thing because it's easy, it provides positive rewards and no consequences. Even if the celebrity is not particularly leftist and/or doesn't have strong political opinions, it makes sense for them to do these things from a purely cost/benefit standpoint.

1) the media loves leftist stuff from celebrities and will give them positive coverage;

2) leftists will see movies, even bad movies, by celebrities who push leftist causes and will refuse to see movies - even good movies - by celebrities who endorse rightest causes;

3) in contrast, most rightest separate the entertainment from the entertainment and don't boycott movies, etc., based on the star's politics (some do, but not in enough numbers to matter);

4) directors, producers, etc. like actors who do leftist politics but not those who do rightest politics; and

5) the people they socialize with all like the leftist advocacy.

Thus, in a purely economics sense, it makes perfect sense for celebrities to engage in leftist advocacy and not to engage in rightest advocacy. There is no risk and some reward for leftist advocacy, while there is real risk and no reward for rightest advocacy.

Thus, I don't begrudge actors doing this. If they are approached and asked to do something like this and turn it down, it could hurt their career, while doing it can only help their career. Thus, why ever turn something like this down?

You, on the other hand, are just another drone in the hive working to keep the system going and do not need any level of personal defense nor should your children be treated as important lest it give them ideas above their station.

Our efforts cannot bring back the 20 innocent children murdered in Newtown, CT -- or the 33 people murdered with guns every day in America. But we can prevent future tragedies by passing common sense legislation that will:

Require a criminal background check for every gun sold in America

Ban assault weapons and high-capacity magazines

Make gun trafficking a federal crime, including real penalties for “straw purchasers”

This Day And All The Rest

One day.

One.

More than another.

The other,

that day,

those people,

too many,

too personal,

but not.

People you know know,

but you yourself know not.

Crashing down,

all frown,

hurting,

walking,

silently screaming,

slowly running,

often feeling nothing.

Seeing the lucky ones fleeing,

seeing those trapped inside.

Cry.

Cry.

It's OK.

It's not OK.

Smile if it's natural

Feel alive.

The president speaks,

The situation reeks an act of war.

I enter my room, close the door

Sit here.

Here where buildings do not fall to the floor.

we young will experience much more

future, liberty, the freedom to mope about in poetry.

My brother I love you.

Old friends and family too.

Safe for now glad to know I'm alive with all of you.

Feel what is real feel later heal.

One.

One person feeling the same as all the rest.

Please let us act and do what is best.

Of course, these people are not sincere, but that is besides the point. The purpose is to strip people of their rights so that they are easier to manage. The notion of the sovereign citizen must be made as obsolete as the Bill of Rights.

The antagonists, as such, are generally implied to be Republicans or have traits that would lead the viewer to think they are, and Poehler's character gushes with worshipful glee whenever she meets a big Democrat politician like Joe Biden or Barbara Boxer.

And she writes and directs for the show.

Anyway, it's entertaining, no doubt, but you shouldn't have any illusions that she's anything other than a staunch left winger.

246 Just about every working actor knows (but prefers to forget) a dozen other actors as good as they are, or better, but not working. Often this includes the people who taught them to act. Many of these unemployed, unknown actors look as good as the famous ones, or better (from less drugs, booze and unhealthy living).

The difference between fame, wealth, living large, an artistic legacy and regular work (which helps you improve and maintain your skills), and obscurity, lack of money and frustration on every level is the personal favor of the people at the top of the food chain.

The people at the top of the Hollywood food chair are intense and aggressive extreme liberals, who take for granted that they have a right to control how people express themselves - that's their job!

Any actor ambitious enough to amount to anything has been shaping themselves from childhood to be acceptable to people like that. Preferably loved by people like that.

This isn't going to change any time soon.

Spicoli LOVES his guns. Not particularly safe or responsible with 'em though.
