Covering Up the Cover Up: Four Officials Supposedly Fired For Benghazi Lapses Aren't Fired At All; Will Be Back To Work Shortly

One guy who the Administration claimed "resigned" did no such thing; he simply switched desks. (Technically I suppose he "resigned" from one position and was reassigned to another, but the Administration implied he had resigned from duty completely.)

The other three are just on "administrative leave," which just means they got a vacation as a punishment.

They'll be back to work soon. And that'll show 'em!

This Administration sure lies a lot. Someone should tell the Media.

1 On Dec. 21, the Friday before Christmas, ICE announced that it has decided “not to renew any of its agreements with state and local law enforcement agencies that operate task forces under the 287(g) program.”

ICE said it has concluded that “other enforcement programs, including Secure Communities, are a more efficient use of resources for focusing on priority cases.”

10 Of course they'll be back at work soon. They didn't actually do anything wrong- they didn't have the authority to do anything wrong.

The only two people in the United States with the authority to have done wrong what was done wrong were Hillary Clinton and TFG. I would not be terribly surprised to find out these "fall guys" were only willing to fall so far (which is to say- none) and threatened to release the real emails if the Administration really tried to pin this whole thing on them.

27 Secure Communities is a joke. They go to the jails, "re-arrest" aliens already jailed for killing, raping, stealing, and other crimes, and get the aliens to agree to be deported if they're paroled or released. The state parole boards then know that they aliens will be deported, so they parole them early. ICE then takes them into custody and removes them. In the meantime, the minute they're identified as criminal aliens by ICE, the federal government starts picking up the tab, costing taxpayers' more money. It's a joke, sham program that allows ICE to double count alien arrests and removals while paying off the states. The victims (read: us) get screwed victimized three times: by the alien, by the state, and then by the federal government. Secure Communities is such a joke it has been buried so deep inside ICE the federal staff call it the "Assured Impunities Program."

48 These federal employees will only get bad performance reviews. They won't be fired. The reason is because performance evaluations can't be grieved, but the terminations can be appealed to the Merit Systems Protection Board, which would result in them winning their jobs back. What will happen is that they'll be offered sweet buyouts or early retirement, it'll be announced that they've resigned, and they'll quietly go away. That's what happened with Melson at the ATF for Fast & Furious. They parked him at a different desk, gave him time to get his retirement stuff in order, and then when he retired they announced the results of the DHS OIG audit of Fast & Furious.

56 42: Federal employees rarely get "fired." They typically have appeals rights because the Supreme Court ruled that they have a vested interest in their jobs different than those of a normal employer-employee relationship, so federal employees get 4th Amendment rights applied to any disciplinary actions. That's why it's damn impossible to fire them. These designated fall guys will get bad performance reviews and then they'll quietly retire or be given a buyout (read: payoff).

If anyone needs to be fired, it's Christopher Stevens, that State Department bureaucratic hack who was the ambassador to Libya.
Ipin all of the blame on Christopher Stevens. He was the person in charge in Libya and his failures stacked up one right after another:
1. He failed to reform Islam into a peaceful religion that seeks to resolve conflict through non-violent means.
2. He failed to convince Secretary of State Clinton that there would be any threats to any embassies on 11 September, 2012.
3.. He failed to convince Secretary of State Clinton that the annivery of a previous significant terrorist event would require additionalsecurity.
4. He failed to convince Secretary of State Clinton that there were people in Libya that did not like the U.S.A. or its policies.
5. He failed to convince me,Barack Obama, that he needed support from military forces in the region, use of which would have serious political consequences.
6. He failed to defend himself sufficiently to survive the attack on his person.
7. He failed to take responsibility for all the screw-ups he committed that led up to his death, making the Stete Department,Secretary of State Clinton, and me, President Barack Obama, look bad as a result.

94 The thing is, this is just another "SQUIRREL!" moment. The statute is quite clear that the only person who could have waived the minimum security standards is the Secretary of State. Which means that waiver has to have her signature on it.

Now, it is possible (I would say probable) that TFG not only knew, but actively approved of the initial waiver in addition to the repeated denials for more security.

In either case, some mid-level staffers are not responsible- cannot be responsible- for the deaths of four Americans in Benghazi, Libya on September 11, 2012. That we're focusing on this means we've taken our eye off the real targets.

Now, it is possible (I would say probable) that TFG not only knew, but actively approved of the initial waiver in addition to the repeated denials for more security.

To be honest I'm not sure TFG did know. He was sittin on his ass watching sports center. I't's already been established his dereliction when it came to security briefings. But Clinton? Hell yes she knew.

104 81 I did some contract work for DFAS and it was the most unbelievable work experience I've ever had. There should've been a sign over the front door of the federal building (a real dump that OSHA should've put barriers around except, well ya know...) saying "Welcome to an Indeterminate Circle of Hell; Abandon All Hope of Doing Anything Worthwhile". It was like an asylum that existed beyond Kafka's descriptive powers. Believe it or not, there were some very smart and conscientious people working there; but they had no ability to resist the bureaucratic stasis that prevailed. To exist, you had to numb yourself to it or tell yourself continually "Just try and get something done and blank out the setting". I've never been so glad for a project to be over.

105 In either case, some mid-level staffers are not responsible- cannot be responsible- for the deaths of four Americans in Benghazi, Libya on September 11, 2012. That we're focusing on this means we've taken our eye off the real targets.

There's nothing we can do about it. You said it best a couple of threads down. We're a nation not ruled by law, but of men.

We very very close to living in a full blown tyranny now.

And all Republican politicians in a Blue or Purple state should switch to Democrat in the next election cycle. The Real Democrat politicians would not know how to deal with that. Well, at least at first. MANY voters are really conservative, but would never vote R, especially in a Blue state. Then we would have a fighting chance, unless they also adopted Leftist ideology. Most voters who would never vote R (yes, many of you Jews out there) might actually have a candidate they REALLY mesh with.

They were actually contracted to audit an agency I was doing some systems work for...and they said it was too complicated to do! Clinton (and about half his cabinet) testified for days before the 9/11 commission. Pull your head out of your ass and stop lying about things that are easily fact checked.

124 The Obama administration affirmatively decided to abandon about 40 Americans to a terror attack, denied them rescue (Woods and Doherty were told not to go and told they would not receive backup), lied about the chain of events, lied about the choices they made, and have since tried to cover up the facts of the case, have apparently instructed those who *were* rescued not to talk, and have lied about the discipline they claim to have imposed, probably on people who did not make the decisions.

And liberals are perfectly okay with that, because it's what they would do.

Jamie Gorelick was made Vice Chairman of Fannie Mae. So I guess she got "fired" into a position that she wouldn't be able to do any damage to the US.

Fannie Mae thrived under her leadership!!
