The Dems may try to bring back the idea of a 'Federal Gun Registration'...like they did in 2009, just as Barky took office. It was Bobby Rush from Chicago, who put forth that Bill. It didn't get very far. But that was then...and this is now. A Federal Gun Registration, as it was proposed...would require every gun owner to apply for a 'Federal Permit' in order for them to legally still own the guns that they already have. The application for that Federal Permit, required you to list all the firearms that you have in your possession. Perfect, huh? That way they can say "permit denied!" and then they would have a list of what firearms you have. Posted by: wheatie at December 17, 2012 03:17 PM (K4wCe) 16
"The leftard worldview is amazing. They want to take my firearms away because a lunatic who should have been locked up wasn't" And of course the reason why the lunatic wasn't locked up was because of leftards having destroyed the concept of involuntary institutionalization. Thanks to their idea that the insane have "civil rights". Letting crazy people out of the asylums onto the public streets didn't make the crazies any less crazy. It just turned the public streets into an open air asylum. Posted by: torquewrench at December 17, 2012 03:19 PM (ymG7s) 17

I honestly don't think the Left is going to win on this issue, and if anything it will probably decimate Democrats outside of urban, coastal states in 2014 if they overreach.
Oh, the gun grabbers might get something meaningless like a return to 10 round magazines for semi-automatics, which will accomplish absolutely nothing since there are millions of 100% legal large-capacity magazines, but I don't see a real transformation of our 2nd Amendment rights from this tragedy. I actually think gun control is one of the few issues americans are actually somewhat "wise". Anyone with a shred of intellectual honesty knows these shooting have everything to do with mental illness and absolutely nothing to do with our gun laws, and I think even the dumb shits in our country get that. Hmm... So I just read that The Lanzas were originally from NH; Kingston, NH, to be exact. One of the reports I read said that the mother, Nancy Lanza, grew up in a "rural NH town;'" the implication being "backward" and "hickish." Well, it might be rural to non-NHites, but Kingston is right smack dab in the middle of one of the most built up, populous, wealthiest regions in the state, Rockingham County, just a stone's throw from Portsmouth, Salem, Exeter, and the Mass border. By NH standards that ain't "rural."

When these commies push the idea that the government should decide what we can and can't do, they get the whole idea of America backwards.
Everything that they say and do is for the opposite purpose. Progressives are regressives in disguise. Loaded into the trunk of the car this monster drove, these items could have killed EVERY PERSON ON THE PREMISES. So, are we ready to engage in meaningful gasoline sale reform? Propane legislation? Lighter bans? No? Why not? Where do you need to go that you can't plan ahead and wait ...a few days to get gas? How can you be opposed to a 24 hour cooling off period before you can get gas for your lawn mower? Do you have a building plan that demonstrates a NEED for nuts and bolts? Why do you "need" propane? A lighter?
Politicians understand the psychology behind loss: they play on anger, and most of all, BARGAINING. We all want to BARGAIN... to make sure the loss we have seen others experience won't happen to us. Most importantly, we want a deal that COSTS US NOTHING... Others should be forced to sacrifice so we'll feel better about ourselves. When the people expected to sacrifice present debate, THEY MUST BE VILIFIED... That way we get to lash out at someone to show ourselves we aren't the powerless creatures we fear we are. Unfortunately, THERE ARE NO BARGAINS THAT GUARANTEE PEACEFUL EXISTENCE OR FREEDOM FROM RANDOM ACTS OF INSANITY. To want to protect our children is noble... to refuse to accept reality is DANGEROUS. This is the deodand fallacy: "This is the accursed item! It contains the seed and soul of evil itself! If we burn it, we will cleanse our society!!!" Pure show business.THIS IS WHY THEY ALWAYS DEMAND IMMEDIATE ACTION: if you are given time to think, you'll reach "acceptance'... and after that you'll begin to apply LOGIC to the problem. They don't want that. They can't prevail if that happens. Posted by: sixgunsam at December 17, 2012 04:28 PM (0r7Rv) 166
Of course they question the comma, these are the same idiots who believe "the separation of church and state" appears in the Constitution.

And now? We all talk about Gun Control, instead of Fast and Furious, or Benghazi, or Hillarys convenient concussion, or the Fiscal Cliff.... or the HUGE amount of Regulations in the works...
I'm not a Christian but with the Super Storm that helped Obama get elected... and now this??? I'm begining to think Barry HAD to have sold his soul to Satan... Posted by: Romeo13 at December 17, 2012 04:53 PM (lZBBB) 168
Not exactly, Teller.
The founders didn't give us a right to own guns. God did that. The founders RECOGNIZED our right to own guns and restricted the government from interfering. Posted by: JackT at December 17, 2012 06:16 PM (zKrpP) Posted by: vivi at December 17, 2012 07:07 PM (hY2XN) 170
fyi - My old Sig Sauer 226, the same pistol (the other was a Glock) the psycho had up in Newtown, had a standard 10 round magazine
You could get a high capacity 20 round magazine with an extended footplate Posted by: TexasJew at December 17, 2012 07:27 PM (lD8ju) 171
I have to agree with Bill O'Reilly Americans don't need AK-15s. He came back on after the break and said I made a mistake. I know their is a difference between an AK 47 and an AR 15I'm not a gun expert but I'm not an idiot?????????????

Worst school mass killing ever was in Bath, Michigan. A nut-job blew up half the school with dynamite and pyrotol. Pyrotol isn't made anymore and dynamite is almost impossible to get....and yet there are still mass murders. Gun control won't do diddly. If someone wants to kill, they will find a way.

One suggestion for burying PVC tubes with guns inside. I think going under a garage slab might work. The metal detectors would pick up the reinforcement of the the concrete. Digging the hole would takemore work, though.
