Sen. Menendez Had an Illegal Alien Sex Offender Working as an Unpaid Intern; Napolitano's Department of Homeland Security Instructed ICE to Delay Arresting Him Until After Menendez's Reelection

Friends helping friends out. Isn't that nice?

uthorities in Hudson County notified ICE agents in early October that they suspected Sanchez was an illegal immigrant who was a registered sex offender and who may be eligible to be deported. ICE agents in New Jersey notified superiors at the Homeland Security Department because they considered it a potentially high profile arrest, and DHS instructed them not to arrest Sanchez until after the November election, one U.S. official told the AP. ICE officials complained that the delay was inappropriate, but DHS directed them several times not to act, the official said.

It was not immediately clear why federal immigration authorities would not have been notified sooner about Sanchez's status.

Then we went and elected Barack Obama, who is as dirty as all the rest, and in so doing indicated that all of America was willing to be bought.

Menendez is as dirty as the average Jersey Dem, which is to say that in any sane universe he'd be serving 5-to-20. But a ridiculously large segment of the voters have decided they'll vote for scum no matter what, if the alternative is voting for someone who might ask them for ID when they use that black-market EBT card.

The Beaten Housewife syndrome is legion in regressive politics. Look at the black community (another word I hate, btw, is "community"). How many decades have they been voting in the Dems because they need that money from Uncle Sugar? And all they end up doing is digging themselves deeper into poverty and decay. But they keep going back, because, "He loves me, really. He only hurts me because I don't love him enough. I've just gotta show him a little more love and attention."

89 so oblig made this awesome comment about how the Dem coalition of disparate factions hangs together, is it just via excellent stealing, pillaging and looting?

but he says no, not anymore. It's become a "negative coalition." We Are Not Them. As follows:

And their "spoils" are emotional. As long as somebody on The List gets hurt (they currently prefer the term "rejected"), it doesn't matter what else results. The big boys get theirs, sure, but Jane Average Democrat doesn't care if she gets any or not. She gets to be on the side that hurts people--and that decides who gets hurt. That's enough. More than enough.

Democrats are idiots, but the people who decide what Democrats are are geniuses (and always have been). A negative coalition is infinitely sustainable. Just change the names on The List.

And do, like, whatever to them.

198 As usual, nothing is going to happen. None of the responsible people will pay a price; not the illegal, not the corruptocrat congressman that hired the illegal, and not the corruptocrat DHS official that issued the instruction to delay enforcement.

199 C'mon guys. This "Sanchez" fellow is just an illegal alien sex offender working for a congressman. It's not like he's one of those awful parole violators.

200 Damn, maybe he'll make a video - then we can deploy the full resources of the United States Government to ensure he's behind bars.

201 Something just occurred to me - wasn't a new whistleblower law just put into effect? Seems to me now would be a good a time as any to put it to the test.

There's so much weirdness in this case ... but here's something that's been troubling me:

Why the fuck is the Department of Homeland Security involved in this case at all? How could the possible deporting a illegal immigrant who's a known sex offender possibly involve Homeland Security in any way, shape, or form?

And, by the way, just who are they to be telling the ICE what and what not to do?

Menendez is a corrupt SOB; but then, he's a Democrat, so we knew this already. But the DHS must be dismantled. Immediately.

207 Hey Ace - did you even bother to read the linked story? The sex offense conviction came from when the young guy was a JUVENILE, meaning the records would have been sealed and no way even a U.S. senator's office would know of it. Secondly, as to the young guy's immigrant status: he was a frickin' UNPAID intern, Ace, so immigrant status isn't actually something that's likely to come up unless it's obvious, which this one apparently was definitely not. And that thing about 'waiting til after the election'? Two things: that's standard DOJ instructions for ALL US attorneys, and only the Sonny Bush folks ever broke those, in 2004; and besides, they never asked Menendez what to do, rather without ever asking him they didn't tell him about their concerns with the dude until after the election ... whereupon Menendez let the guy go.

Man oh man, Ace: are you ever desperate to get you beak wet over an Obama administration scandal.
