How To Make a Modern Movie Poster

It's easy. You just need an actor and the four elements.

movie_posters_03movie_posters_04
movie_posters_08movie_posters_02

And then you have this one for the upcoming Man of Steel movie.

Do You Recognize This Man?

He attacked and beat Stephen Crowder today in Michigan. That's a union shirt he's wearing.

The Tumor

In the 1,420 days since he took the oath of office, the federal government has daily hired on average 101 new employees. Every day. Seven days a week. All 202 weeks. That makes 143,000 more federal workers than when Obama talked forever on that cold day in January of 2009.

"Did the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) Lead to Risky Lending?"

Abstract:

Yes, it did. We use exogenous variation in banks' incentives to conform to the standards of the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) around regulatory exam dates to trace out the effect of the CRA on lending activity. Our empirical strategy compares lending behavior of banks undergoing CRA exams within a given census tract in a given month to the behavior of banks operating in the same census tract-month that do not face these exams. We find that adherence to the act led to riskier lending by banks: in the six quarters surrounding the CRA exams lending is elevated on average by about 5 percent every quarter and loans in these quarters default by about 15 percent more often. These patterns are accentuated in CRA-eligible census tracts and are concentrated among large banks. The effects are strongest during the time period when the market for private securitization was booming.

I know this is an article of faith on the right but as intellectual conservatives we should seek out actual evidence for what we believe or consider the possibility that it's not true.

Fox News Viewers Have An Average IQ of 80

So claims a study from a 'conservative' group:

The results of a 4 year study show that Americans who obtain their news from Fox News channel have an average IQ of 80, which represents a 20 point deficit when compared to the U.S. national average of 100. IQ, or intelligence quotient, is the international standard of assessing intelligence.

Researchers at The Intelligence Institute, a conservative non-profit group, tested 5,000 people using a series of tests that measure everything from cognitive aptitude to common sense and found that people who identified themselves as Fox News viewers and 'conservative' had, on average, significantly lower intelligent quotients. Fox Viewers represented 2,650 members of the test group.

Well Charlie Martin tracked down the people behind it and positively demolishes their credibility:

So there you have it. A four-year study sparked by the outcome of the recent election, from an institution that's admittedly a fake, from a company that won't identify itself, supposedly funded by a Republican PAC trying to "cut off" the Tea Party like a cancer, using a sample that was chosen with a particular result in mind, with a contact number that's an anonymous free Google Voice number.

It's almost certainly a hoax but of course HuffPo and other lefty bloggers immediately ran with it - because too damn good to check!

Always a Shameless Asshole

Dan Rather, the Zapruder film, and the long history of general MSM treachery:

Dan Rather, a very young Dan Rather, whose career was about to be minted, was CBS's Dallas bureau chief at the time. He called New York, asked for Don Hewitt, and told him that "a guy named Zapruder was supposed to have film of the assassination and was going to put it up for sale." Exactly how interested was Walter Cronkite's evening news program? Hewitt, the show's executive producer-and the long-time producer of 60 Minutes-insisted it was very interested, and quickly decided the best approach would require a bit of, well, courage.

"In my desire to get a hold of what was probably the most dramatic piece of news footage ever shot," Hewett wrote, "I told Rather to go to Zapruder's house, sock him in the jaw, take his film to our affiliate in Dallas, copy it onto videotape, and let the CBS lawyers decide whether it could be sold or whether it was in the public domain. And then take the film back to Zapruder's house and give it back to him. That way, the only thing they could get him for was assault because he would have returned Zapruder's property. Rather said, 'Great idea. I'll do it.'

I wish my unborn baby wasn't a beastly boy!

A mom-to-be's lament:

Boys are gross; they attack their siblings with sticks, are obsessed with toilets, casually murder local wildlife and turn into disgusting teenage boys and then boring, selfish men.

And then there are the not-so-attractive boyish traits. Luckily these days we have ritalin and estrogen gels to treat children unlucky enough to be born without a second X chromosome.

Science You Can Use

Australia's Department of Agriculture has announced that its researchers have made a breakthrough that will send shockwaves across beach resorts and tiki-themed restaurants around the world. Through careful breeding they've managed to produce a sweet pineapple that also tastes like coconut, reducing future Pina Colada recipes to just two ingredients.

The new breed of fruit, known as the AusFestival pineapple, has actually been in development for over a decade.

47 "There Will Be Blood" In Michigan Over New Right To Work Law
More: http://politicalhat.com/?p=771

Michigan has now become the 24th “Right to Work” state. This means that from now on, employees are free to join or otherwise support a union, or not, as they see fit. Unions do not have to represent these non-union workers, but choose to do so because they then have a monopoly on representation of the workers. This special privilege, though is not enough for the unions, who want to keep the power to force people to pay their “share” and thus forcibly require non-members to support them. Michigan’s new “Right to Work” legislation empowers the workers and is a triumph for the 1st Amendment.

However, the unions have not taken losing their special privileges lightly, and have become violent with promises of more violence. All this ends up benefiting the real “1%”: The union bosses, who are more than happy to crush their members in order to declare victory and protect the union bosses elite status and income.

The call to violence has been, and will likely continue to be, explicit. State Representative, and union tool, Douglas Geiss went so far as to declare that “there will be blood. We will relive the Battle of the Overpass.”

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zdsjPiX3aGU

The “Battle of the Overpass” that he referenced was a violent clash involving auto workers in 1937.

His sentiments were not just his own, but that of the Michigan House Democrats which tweeted (and then deleted) this comment:

http://bit.ly/S7ZrmT

Not to be outdone, Teamsters President Jimmy Hoffa, Jr. has predicted “civil war” will break out.

Alas, all these threats are not empty ones, as violence has already begun. Conservative commentator and comedian Steven Crowder was violently assaulted on camera:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u_F3oev06i0

The angry union mob even tore down and started slashing at the tent of American for Prosperity… while people were still inside!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GtbWbw66KrI

Sadly, many of these union goons truly believe that the special privileges the unions, or more accurately the union bosses get, are what “democracy” is all about. Perhaps their ignorance is understandable since teachers unions in Detroit are responsible for only 7% of 8th graders being proficient in grade school reading! Detroit, a city now reminiscent of Gibbons’ “Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire” than anything resembling an industrial giant.

Under Michigan’s new “Right to Work” laws, though, this once great state has a chance to become great once again.

54 It does amazes me how well the State Media controls the narrative.

The "redlining" scare of the 90s and its relation to the Fannie Mae collapse being a prime case in point.

In the 90s, one of the biggest economic/political talking points was whether banks were refusing to loan enough money to risky borrowers. The right claimed this was a stupid argument to be having, the left argued that this showed the banks were racist.

Well Clinton, and Obama as a low level flunkie, won.

And 10 years later we had the housing bubble burst.

It would be as if 10 years from today the federal debt bubble burst and the Left argued it was because "the teabaggers refused to cut spending."

81 Hey 'Rons- fun with liberals:
Imagine a corporation that produces a commodity called “hammers”. This corporation intimidates competitors so that nobody else can produce hammers. The corporation lobbies the government and bribes councilmen for rules making it harder for others to produce hammers. The corporation sends strong-arm men to beat up those who try to use hammers from any other source. Once the corporation has a monopoly on the production and price of hammers, they create an artificial shortage and hike the price of hammers sky-high. The CEO makes an obscenely high salary. People who need hammers can no longer afford them and have to do without. Oh, and the hammers produced by the corporation are of poor quality and don’t work very well.

I would decry this as an immoral form of crony capitalism at its worst. Certainly our ‘pearl-clutching’ friends on the left would agree and smirk smugly about “evil corporations”.
Now let’s consider the same paragraph with a couple of simple changes:

Imagine a union that produces a commodity called “workers”. This union intimidates competitors so that nobody else can produce workers. The union lobbies the government and bribes councilmen for rules making it harder for others to produce workers. The union sends strong-arm men to beat up those who try to use workers from any other source. Once the union has a monopoly on the production and price of workers, they create an artificial shortage and hike the price of workerssky-high. The union president makes an obscenely high salary. People who need workerscan no longer afford them and have to do without. Oh, and the workersproduced by the union are of poor quality and don’t work very well.

I would decry this as an immoral form of coercion at its worst. However our ‘pearl-clutching’ friends on the left would hail it as a noble victory in the ongoing struggle of the downtrodden proletariat.
But there is no moral difference between the two! The irony, it burns! And the cognition is dissonant!

90 The talk of "redlining" started in the 1960's and when the Democrats finally got back in the White House (Skippy Carter), the CRA was enacted.
During the '80's, Reagan and then Bush did not pursue it vigorously, but there was also the Savings and Loan crisis, with many failed banks (savings and loans, too) because of poor or underperforming home mortgages.

Thenthe Clinton administration decided that CRA was the hammer to hit the banks recovering from the same home real estate crisis in the 80's. So yeah, CRA really got rolling in theRoaring 90's.
And today, most banks are NOT in the business of originating home loans, and there are a lot fewer banks, and several that are "too big to fail". Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac are originating loans and then selling them to banks. And Freddie and Fannie are losing billions. Billions of our dollars. There is nothing quite like capital destruction to tell you that the maniacs are in charge of the asylum.

Another big win for government central planning, and a big loss for the rest of us.

Germany is an interesting case study.

Traditionally the left engages in street theater and uses this destabilization to institution an authoritarian or totalitarian regime. The average man will support anything to keep anarchy away.

In Germany in the interwar period they failed because the heretical National Socialists not only equaled the heterodox International Socialists in the streets...they bested them. The German left that didn't join the National Socialists...and most of them did...ended up being "liquidated" instead of their opponents as was normally the case.

I don't agree. When Fat Tony took his off-balance Humpty Dumpty swings at Crowder, other unions members immediately stopped him. Same thing happened the second time Crowder was assaulted, and the State Troopers then came in and lathered some union heads with their nightsticks.

The union goons were tearing down an AFP tent with people still inside. It's like the Republican poll judges meekly leaving in Chicago when they were thrown out by the Democrats during the election.

When do conservatives start fighting back with fists and feet? The union members were endangering the lives of people in the tent. A single punch to Fat Tony's solar plexus or a couple of open palms on his ears, and he'd go down for the count and the other hogs would trundle away.

There are tons of videos all over Liveleak and YouTube of people retaliating and being instantly left alone.

The most famous, of course, is Epic Beard Man beating the snot out of a much younger man who had an entire busload of people on his side. Epic Beard Man was all alone. And when Epic Beard Man administered justice, what did the crowd do?

They screamed "Jesus Christ!" They wailed in disbelief. They went from egging on the attacker to cowering in terror of a 67-year-old man.

This is always the proper reaction to bullying:

Thing is, Crowder wasn't exactly there merely as some private citizen minding his own business. He was on the job, and that plus some other factors, would probably have restrained him from retaliating in a manner that discourages continuing violence.

When Crowder was assaulted twice, other union members pulled the attackers away, and then the cops came in and beat union skulls with nightsticks.

It was a just a crowd of fat, middle-aged loudmouths emboldened by the fact that nobody stopped them from tearing down the tents.

Each action they took was allowed to pass without any response, so they steadily escalated their aggressiveness until it resulted in violence.

The conservatives didn't respond, and they got assaulted anyway. If someone had laid out a union goon with a single punch or kick, it would've stopped. That's why people have to train to bring someone down with one blow.

Or, in the case of Epic Beard Man, a flurry of thirteen blows delivered in under three seconds that left his attacker in no condition to continue the attack.

Think Mark Twain said something like the effective IQ of a union mob is the IQ of the dumbest member there divided by the number of people in the mob.

Crowder did the wisest thing by not reacting.

Now however, is the time to react and go after this union goon by any and all legal, respectful, polite, non-confrontational, humane, and non-agressive means possible.

240 There is some truth to what you are saying Llarry, that if the
retaliation is swift and severe, it tends to discourage follow ups. What
if Epic Beard Man hadn't been so decisive? Maybe some of the crowd
would've join in, emboldened.

That's the key. It has to be decisive.

You can't brawl with thugs; you have to learn to instantly lay them out. Epic Beard Man knows how to do it. I watched that video dozens of times in slow motion, checking out how expertly he landed his blows. It was his fighting skills that made the crowd afraid of him.

Remember that Aussie kid who body-slammed his bully? He'd been tormented his entire life. Now, everybody leaves him alone. If AFP had three or four veterans at every appearance who knocked out union goons just once or twice, no one would ever tear down their tents again, and the public would forget about the video of the incidents in about three days.

Posted by: Llarry at December 11, 2012 11:23 PM (nMCEa)

241 It doesn't completely apply to the Crowder attack but I read quite a while ago when the black flash mobs were hitting alot of places (and after the state fair fuck-up in particular) a pro-gun site linked maybe here or at Instapundit's discussing mobs. I can't recall if it was advice from the blogger or from a commenter, but it was suggested you try to get away without violence if you could but if not, then you should shoot the couple of obvious ringleaders first and the rest of the mob would likely run away.

Geraldo is a liberal dem, if he claims otherwise, he's full of it. Rush Limbaugh used to call him the Grim Reaper because he'd always be on the ground when there were deaths to report. Jerry must have retired from that duty.

I read that the Kennedy family fought over Hillary and Obama in 2008 and Ethel wouldn't talk to one of her kids for a long time. She had too many kids to keep track of by name. Caroline Kennedy was PO'd by Obama because she and Teddy endorsed him and he refused to take her suggestions about education seriously, he did not even respond. But as a hard core lib, she had no one else to support.

Don't these people have any self respect? If I was from a "political dynasty" and threw my name after a fool that thought he could fool the country and part of it was because the Kennedy family, most of them, endorsed him, I would expect payback. Caroline is as stupid as the rest of the clan.

304 The bank officials KNEW that they were conducting transactions with Iranian entities (and the Syrians and Cubans and Drug Cartels), and they KNOWINGLY engaged in a practice to strip the identifying information off of the transactions, so that the receiving entity would not know where the transaction originated. BY DESIGN!

And, so far as I can tell, so far, the problem actually stems with the federal regulators themselves.

Because early on, issues and suspicions surfaced. And the regulators gave deferential treatment to the bank, saying, in effect: "well, look, you really need to correct these problems. We'll give you time to do so."

What finally forced the Doj's hand was the report that was released by the Senate's permanent Subcommittee on investigations that disclosed in "very aggravating detail", the scope and the breadth of the money laundering and criminal activity conducted by HSBC.

AND YET NOBODY GOES TO JAIL????

Just got back from seeing the new James Bond movie, Skyfall. Gonna start writing my review in a minute.

First some thoughts...

Damn, whatever happened to that Dan Rather?

The Nile River Valley looks like a giant glowing sperm cell.

That Man Of Steel poster, unless I've just never seen it, looks kinda fake. But than again movie one-sheets these days all fucking suck. Used to be a goddamned art form in of itself.

Chick doesn't want to raise a boy? I recommend abortion. Seriously, she doesn't want a boy and will raise a piece of shit which society also doesn't need. God invented abortion for these very reasons. Kill it in the graveyard of your rancid womb, bitch. Do it now, for all womankind!

I want to be part of a union protest so I, too, can go beating up random people while under the protection of fucktard goons. They won't know who I am anyway, so it's not like they can turn in any names. And what's the whole point of having political muscle if you don't flex it? Now that's free riding, baby!

Crowder quickly closes the distance and ties up the guy's right arm. Then he moves in and begins to clinch.

Closing with the guy was smart. By doing so, he protected himself from further punches. It's hard to hurt someone when they're clinching with you. That's why boxers do it when they get rocked.

Once inside, he could have easily tossed this fucko on his head with a hip throw, gotten a body lock and tripped him, or taken him down with a double leg. But Crowder couldn't risk taking it to the ground with that hostile crowd all around.

I'm guessin Crowder understands a thing or two about fighting. That fat union goon? Not so much. Any decent fighter would get of two or three accurate strikes by the time he finished one of those wild, off-balanced haymakers.

373 Well, here comes Benghazi East;

In a diplomatic shift, President Obama said today his administration now formally recognizes the newly-formed, leading coalition of Syrian rebels who are fighting to topple Syria's embattled President Bashar Assad.

Yeah, he did the right thing. Me? I would have done the un-smart thing and fucked the guy's shit up. Then I would've gotten stomped by the mob.

I just don't have any kind of self control when someone starts swinging at me.

The takeaway from this is that you need to know something about ground fighting and standup as well if you want to be able to defend yourself.

Wrestling and Jiu Jitsu are great for one on one confrontations, but if there's a group you can't risk being on the ground. I learned this the hard way once in a street brawl when I tossed my opponent with a Judo throw, went to the ground with him in a headlock, and started punching his face.

I thought things were going great until I got my face soccer kicked by someone else. It knocked me unconcious. My friends thought i was dead because I stopped breathing when I was out. Fortunately, I just ended up with a concussion and a bloody face. It could've been much worse.

Knowing some boxing would have served me a lot better in that situation.

422 So, Skyfall...

Pretty good. Pretty good.

Hell if I knew what the plot was about but it looked fantastic! Director Sam Mendes really shot this one beautifully. Beautifully! Wish they put the same amount of effort into the script as they did the actual filming.

And Javier Bardem, what can be said about him? Such a wonderful villain. Always plays a great bad guy. Too bad his character was a little on the thin side, but what Bardem was given he did quite well with.

And Ben Whishaw...I have no idea who he is but he's a pretty good Q.

Naomie Harris, who you might remember as the black chick from 28 Days Later and the black chick from Pirates Of The Caribbean 2 and 3, now plays...the black chick in SKyfall. Who later turns out to be MONEYPENNY! A more involved Moneypenny to boot. I like her. She's damn fine in tight skirts.

And Berenice Marlahohe...I have no idea who she is either but she's the new Bond Girl who has ten minutes of screen time. Unbelievably beautiful. Incredible. Delicious. I want to see her naked.

And they're all thrown together in Skyfall doing some shit for some reason which is only later revealed but sort of as an after thought but the Bond series has always just been an excuse to shoot beautiful people in exotic locales anyway so it makes no difference whether or not there's a plot THOUGH IT HELPS *breathes in* because we really ought be invested in the action to some degree and beautiful people, exotic locales and random action sequences just aren't enough in this day and age. *Breathes out*

Okay...

So short version is it's okay. I'd say about on the level of Quantum of Solace, but a lot longer and a little more self-aware.

But for $5 bucks I'm not going to complain. Much. It's an okay movie. It's a good night out. Take your old lady, go with friends, have a good time. The movie does have a fair amount going for it. Individual scenes are well executed and well performed (though the climax gets really dark to the point of being hard to see I guess because they wanted more natural light) but like I said above, there's not a real story there. What is actually there involves Judi Dench's M. It's basically her story. Bond might be the feature player but it's like the plot basically involves him being M's running dog while she handles the political side of things. And then it turns out the villain has some sort of beef with her and...well, basically it's M's arc that drives the story forward for the most part.

Overall, it's a pretty decent action flick with great photography and thin story. I give it 3.5/5 stars.

for example
a healthy 5'2" 100lb. woman does not need to take a punch from a healthy 6'4" 240lb. man before shooting
but
a healthy 6'4" 240lb. man has to take almost all punches from a healthy 5'2" 100lb. woman unless something funky happens

avarage sized men can shoot an average sized man before a punch if the attacker has

I don't think that qualifies as a rom-com. I do know it looked dumb as hell. The premise is that some married guys are given a "hall pass" to go screw other women. I'm guessing that the movie ends with them actually not going through with it and really learning how much they love their wives.

453 Dan Rather is truly a corn encrusted piece of shit.May his scrotum suffer the bite of athousand sandfleas. Willing to sucker punchs some poor schmuck and steal his tape. All done in the name of journalistic integrity, I'm sure. The problem the GOP has and will continue to have is thatit cannot and must not suffer these fools, such as Rather, when they will go to absolutely ANY length to get the story or slant an issue to their side. Until the GOP finally internalizes this, until our side stops sitting down with the media, glad handing and making nice and utterly fucking useless small talk, then we are fucked. As so many have succinctly said on here, let it burn. I'm just about there. I can't recall if it was Ace or another author emeritus (or even a 'ron commenter) who said that our strategery (as Bush would say) need not bewinning the unwinnable media to our side. Rather (no pun intended), we must either destroy those institutions through financial means (boycott advertisers/corporate owners), seize control of them through financial means (hostile acquisition), or start an entirely conservative media network tv outlet. One that is unbashedly conservative- one that doesn't give a fuck about offending and simply tells the news with a relentless, conservative pounding. Fox doesn't get there, though it does some good. I'm starting to get off on a tangent here with my rant, but Iwas mulling this over the other day. Why our sidewants to be loved so badly by the MSM. Rushhas hit this succinctly, buta pefect illustration was when Ann Romney went on the view and Whoopi ShitbirdExtraordinaire Goldberg ambushed her with the question about Vietnam. She said something alongthe lines of, "Mitt was never in the militry orVN. How can you face all the mothers of the dead soldiers..fathom their pain" (etc etc).Ann stumbled and mumbled about serving thechurch. All well and good. Sheshould have said, "I imagine in the same way the President, who never served in the military, has, or the same way Michelle Obama faces thosesame mothers. It doesn't take a first lady title to have a compassionate heart" or something like that. But I hope for toomuch. Dan Rather is still a fuckstick.

By that rationale neither Batman nor Wonder Woman is a superhero. They have no special abilities beyond their respective species. (Or sub-species for Amazons.)

The superhero description doesn't come from the superhuman abilities, especially in Batman's case. It comes from the behavior and utilization of those abilities. (In Batman's case it is a superhuman level of PTSD induced psychosis.)

Last week we painted the floor with what we thought was taupe. Turned out to be butterscotch. Not a bad color but hell next to a green wall.

So the experimental squares of what we think this time is taupe and experimental baseboard colors have been painted.

The light taupe floor looks good. The dark taupe baseboard looks ... weak / chalky / washes out against the green wall.

But 'Ancho Pepper' baseboard looks good. Dark taupe looks good for a small floor stencil outline 'round the room ...

You sound like me. I can spot the slightest differences in tone and it will drive me crazy if it isn't exactly what I want.

For that reason, I buy several samples and then paint LARGE swatches on individual pieces of white cardboard. It's great because you can test it on different walls and different rooms where the light is different.

It really has helped a lot in cutting down errors.

Actually, characters like Doc Savage came earlier. In fact, Superman's civilian name Clark Kent was taken in part from Doc's full name Clark Savage, Jr.

There was also an influential book called Gladiator in 1930 by Philip Wylie, who is best remembered for 'When Worlds Collide' thanks to the George Pal movie. Siegal and Schuster made it very clear Gladiator was a big influence.

In the late 80s, after DC had merged all of its parallel universe into one, meaning there could be only one Superman, the Earth-2 Superman who first appeared in 1938 was replaced by Arn 'Iron' Munro, a character based directly on the Gladiator.

493 ABE news is pushing Obama's fiscal cliff message.

I ask:

When the Bush tax cuts were passed, the Dems called it "tax cuts for the rich."

But now we're told their expiration will result in a tax increase for **everyone**.

Obama is saying, "the most important thing we can do is make sure that **middle class taxes** do not go **up** on Jan. 1."

But if **middle-class tax rates** went DOWN under Bush, and middle class taxes will go UP on Jan 1, then why did the Dems lie back in Bush’s term by saying only "the rich" benefited???

It's simple to understand: when their dentures are moving, the Dems are lying.

My "best" day was tree-skiin' at Copper, at Easter, in the "Enchanted Forest", when the boys were 12 and 13, with my ski-buddies too. Pretty good conditions. Not the best. But there were 8 of us "tail-to-tip". On our game! Ear-to-ear grins, all around! Nothing like it! I know that God loves me, even on our little local NC "hill" at Sugar or Beech.

But I KNOW God loves me when we're at the no frills A-Basin headwall. (We like Utah. But we love Summit Co. CO). Tried and true. And Mama {the non-skier} knows and likes. And, Eleventy! that's what really counts!!!

533 Less than two weeks left to get all your Christmas shoplifting done boys and girls.

Walmart has a corporate policy of not prosecuting on anything under about $25, so that's the place to get all your stocking stuffers and small items.

For the larger items, you'll want to see your local fence. Lotta Christmas cheer "falling off trucks" this time of year.

Remember, supporting your local criminals "spreads the wealth" directly and is very environmentally friendly. A Walmart is burning in the range of 150,000W just to light the store. OTOH, Vinnie the fence is very environmentally friendly and only uses a 40W bulb in his storage unit. Do the math.

Check out 'Nobody Would Listen' by Harry Markopolos. He spent ten years trying to alert the feds that something was wildly wrong with Bernie Madoff's operation. Not only did the regulators lack the proper suspicion of someone so absurdly successful, they didn't even understand the evidence Markopolos presented. The problem was that they were mainly lawyers and hadn't a clue how things really worked in finance.

547 Speaking of Walmart (pbut), did anyone catch the Daily Mail version of the poor poor 'shoplifter' killed there a couple of days ago? I put shoplifter in quotes because THEY did. A real piece of yellow journalism by them in this case.

You see, this shoplifter was IN FACT shoplifting, as allegedly were her two accomplices. All were witnessed stuffing crap in their bags, and when they tried to run when told to stop, they still managed to get to the getaway car.

The security guard, an off duty deputy sheriff, identified himself as an officer and told the driver to step out of the car. Instead, she dropped the car in gear and endangered his life, so he shot her.

The article then said "Tragically, she wasn't even supposed to be there." Well duh, yeah. It seems she was on probation and banned for life from Walmart, for having black skin. No wait, it was actually for shoplifting there in the past. Go figure.

I'm trying to figure out why that is 'tragic'. Did the judge and her lawyer not tell her that she wasn't welcome at Walmart any more? I'm not glad that she is dead, but I'm not all that broken up about it either.

I suppose a rant this long deserves a linky:

Well yeah, some type of real hard pounding metal band would be cool. The gene pool seems to be slim.

As far as dad goes, not sure what to do for him this year. I built him that classical guitar a few years back, which he hardly touches, restored his 50's jazz master that was apart for 35 years, that he barley touches, got him the bass last year that he wanted, that he probably touched once. So yeah, really not sure wtf to do for him this year.

He plays the les paul and epiphone 335 type guitar I got him a few years back, so I guess they are his favs.

yeah he has his original 1958 tremolux and a 60's blackface vibrolux. He says the vibrolux is too heavy, the tremolux don't have reverb (argh) so I got him some 75 watt Vox valvetronix combo amp that has a really nice clean sound with some onboard effects. He sounds good through that, so amp wise he is finally happy. I have been trying to get him set up for the last 10 years, so I think I finally got him where he wants to be.
I offered to lend him a marshall stack, but as usual he thought I was out of my fucking mind. lol

597 The Brits are fucked.

The zenith of their respect for the right of self-defense happened around the mid 1700's. It was all downhill from there.

Even in the early 1800's when even kids and criminals could have guns, it was never a big problem. Every time they turn the crank harder, the problems ratchet up, not down.

599 *yawn*

Night all. Squirrelly schedule means I might not be around for a while, and this weekend is our anniversary, so I have no intention of hanging with you misfits and malcontents.

Before I go, did anybody else see that Navy One from the Mellow Jihadi posts here? His site is worth a look too.

603 Well, Ive been mostly well behaved tonight, even thou I guess I helped run Llarry off. A simple 'I sucked on that post' and he woulda been free and clear. We all do that.

If you've truly retired from AoS, thanks for your contributions in the past and may you find satisfaction elsewhere.

Today's my B-day and 12 holds a special meaning in my numerology. Not just today either -- you see, my younger brother was born on 12/12, exactly 12 years apart.

That's more 12s than you can shake a stick at tonight.

1) She's the first lady. That has some cachet.

2) It would cuckold Barry.

3) Her husband has been fucking the country. I deserve to get some rage sex back.

610 OMG!

That is soo flipping COOL!!!

I went out to get a 6-pack, way late, because I can... HRMPH!

And because, I WANTED to.

Anyway, I've seen coyotes in the wild and even on busy city streets in this town (at 4AM, granted).

I have never seen an *adolescent* Coyote before in my life.

Almost, coulda hit one tonight. (I live near a dry bed river, have for 10 years).

Part of me is all Whooo!

Part of me is all, WTF you doin out here all by yerself, Junior?!

Anyways.

I think it is cool to see such things.

612 re: "2) It would cuckold Barry."

Ah! Lightbulb.

When Obama said Trayvon looked like his imaginary son, I just thought he was being his usual delusional self, where in his mind he's this scary street-ass black guy who totally freaks you out. But in real life, if Obama shot Trayvon, the news would say a black kid got shot by a White African. I mean, if Obama could get James Brown pregnant, the resultant son wouldn't be a scary black dude; he'd be a weedy beige dork.

But maybe what Obama was doing, instead of being publicly insane, was signalling very subtly that he's looking for what cuckoldry connoisseurs call a "bull"--a huge black-as-hell dude--to impregnate his wife. Right in front of him.

So if you're a huge black dude (as at least half of us here doubtless are), your plan is flawed. He'd be into it.

616 Coyotes are pretty brazen in my neighborhood. They'll come right down the sidewalk and if a car points its headlight right at them they just look up with a "Yes?" expression.

My sister and I have learned to keep an eye out while walking the dogs. We don't want to find out what happens if the two types of canine get too close. One one walk we had our then 15 year old niece with us. Sister and I noted a suspicious silhouette across the street and up the hill by the park. Niece said it was just a bench. No big deal. The 'bench' then started walking up the hill.

Ever since then we've relentlessly made sure niece is on the lookout for rogue park benches

Posted by: epobirs at December 12, 2012 04:39 AM (kcfmt)

617 Oh, also..

Reason why I'm indulging at 2AM?

Because, I fucking QUIT as a Salesman if you insist upon shunting ALL of *my* installs in this neighborhood to XXX Sub-Contracor, who REPEATEDLY, CONSISTENTLY have done a half-ass job and lands their *laziness*, failure to plan, and just plain, jack-assery on the "Work Order"

Fuck You!

I *was* willing to believe that there might be some miscommunication about product coming from the CSR Dept...

Not after you told one of my customers that you would be back the next day to correct an equipment issue, and NEVER SHOWED UP!

Don't fucking make promises you have no intention of keeping.

You make me AND the Company you putatively represent look bad.

If I get REALLY, REALLY good at Sales, do I get to fucking insist that ALL *my* installs will be handled, in-house?

618 I am now horrified and intrigued at the suggestion that fucking Alf would cuckold Obama.

I CANNOT FUCKING WAIT until I live in a neighborhood where the suspicious silhouettes are coyotes.

Every couple weeks in this area a "park bench" shoots or stabs somebody to death. Weird thing is it's really not that bad of an area. If they hadn't gotten someone close to me I'd have never known.

On a lighter note, time for me to

620 That is the advantage of living near a prison. A lot of cops live in the neighborhood and any bad guys can expects a lot of residents to be armed. I suspect a lot of people around here have the attitude that if you catch and kill a burglar you don't call the cops. You just bury him in the backyard. Who is going to miss him and what burglar leaves a list of the places he plans to hit for his friends or family to use in case he goes missing?

If you've got a decent truck you go up into the hills a ways and then away from the track to dump the body under the plant life canopy. The wildlife will make short work of it and it could be years before anyone came close enough to that exact spot to recognize human bones.

Yes, this is in deep blue Los Angeles County. Things are a bit different out towards the edges.

Nah, mostly size and...somesuch.

I KNOW it was a juvenile Coyote.

You never ever *see* little Coyotes.

Wasn't a pup.

Wasn't all rangy and lean like a full grown.

622 >>I CANNOT FUCKING WAIT until I live in a neighborhood where the suspicious silhouettes are coyotes.

Nice thing about Coyotes as opposed to the SEIU?

"Get off my Lawn!" is all it takes, usually for Coyotes.

Worst thing about SEIU Members?

You have to "humanely" trap and kill them.

Why?

Posted by: Deety at December 12, 2012 05:38 AM (8eLGd)

623 I suspect the average coyote would make a better meal or pet than an SEIU member.

Posted by: epobirs at December 12, 2012 05:48 AM (kcfmt)

624 The average coyote is smart enough to not foul its own den. SEIU thug on the other hand.

633 In Post-Obama America, it's every man and woman for himself/herself. Why mourn the end of a Nation that's now gone? Intelligent, talented, hard-working people will be fine; the parasites who have lived off of their neighbors through the Governmentwill be the ones who bear the brunt of what's to come. Why should I care? Darwinism may be slow and inefficient, but it is about to catch up with and begin decimatingAmerica's Worst Generation.
