Open Thread For Commenter "I Am Mad As Hell" To Produce Some Sharp Poltiical Content & Some Powerful Electioneering Strategy

"I am mad as hell" is one of those guys who posts in a blog's comments area and deems himself a Stalwart Patriot Hero for doing so. He's very certain that other people should be doing a lot of Very Serious Political writing and strategizing.

He himself? Well, he seems to limit his own contributions to the cause to sarcastic two-line statements in blog comments areas.

I hereby give "i am mad as hell" this opportunity to do all the political writing/commentary/strategizing he thinks we need. I sure hope he's got something to say, apart from insisting that other people get as serious and dedicated as he is.

Prove how serious and dedicated you are, "I am mad as hell." Your comments, if borderline cogent, will be elevated up to a Main Post.

So go, dude. You've got so much to say. Say it. I'll wait. Once you're done, I'll transfer your deep thoughts to the main blog.

I sure hope that you're not one of those Unappeasibly Angry Fellows who does nothing but rant that Something Must Be Done! without actually being wiling to do something yourself, or without having any idea of what should be done.

I sure hope that's not the case. I sure hope you've got more in your toolbox than constant bleats that We All Must Be More Serious!!!

So, wow me dude. Show me how it's done.

You might have to put down whatever videogame you're currently playing for this. Might take some work.

Definition Time: Puritanism: the haunting fear that someone, somewhere may be having a good time.

Mad As Hell... says he can't Fight For the Cause, as he has to go out for dinner at a restaurant.

So, apparently, he's declared this particular hour as the hour we're all permitted some simple pleasures. (At least I assume we have the same leave he grants himself, but who knows, perhaps we're all still on the clock.)

So I guess make the most of this hour -- the hour mad as hell (maybe) is permitting you to not Fight For the Cause.

As for the rest of us morons, can we make proposals?

I propose we all just give up on this politics bullshit, stop trying to make a go of it, and either find a new place where we can act like free men, or precipitate the economic collapse ourselves.

Once the collapse starts, we can begin asserting the dominance, cunning, and ruthlessness that made Europeans the masters of the entire globe. It was that way for a reason, and some third-worlder types seem to forget that.

Whether or not you can having f'ing snacks while watching a movie.

Let me tell you right now, Senator Reid, If I can't bring a snack into the Windmill Library to watch the Free Saturday movie with my 6 year old son (you know the newest library here in Vegas), then no, you don't need to eat a snack in the Senate Auditorium. Therefore, instead of shoveling money to SuperPacs that spend big money on media buys that have small effect on elections we need to:

Once, briefly, like for an hour. I think the idea of the game is pretty brilliant, though. I'm not sure how you can actually play it properly unless you're all professional comedy writers or ironists, though. The game's ambition seems to exceed the practical abilities of most human beings.

You do realize that this describes about half your commenters lately, right?

From what I can gather, our "solutions" are:

Don't raise the debt ceiling. Then they'll only be able to spend what they take in! Where to make $1 trillion in cuts and how? Crickets.

Don't raise taxes / revenue, the GOP should FIGHT until Obama and the Dems accept only spending cuts. How? Crickets.

The GOP is a bunch of inept RINOs, so let's form a new party! How a third party which would appeal only to a conservative subset of Republican voters could win power in a two-party system? Crickets.

Take down the media! Cancel cable! Don't pay for movies! How you'd get enough people to participate in this mass boycott, and how that would convince activist liberals in the MSM to stop acting like liberal activists? Crickets.

We lost, and not just on November 6th. The country has been on a slow march along the path of fiscal collapse for decades, and there's nothing we can do about it. The takers and welfare statists won not just the election, but the argument.

We're that lone Japanese soldier stranded on a Pacific Island who is still trying to fight WWII, not knowing that his side lost long ago.

112 Since Ace is reading the blog, I have a suggestion for tax reform that I cut and pasted from another thread. Dems want higher tax revenues, lets give those to them: cap mortgage deductions so that the rich can't write off more than the average (blue state property values are higher than red state), end the deduction for previously paid state and local taxes (blue state Dems may find themselves suddenly in favor of tax reform when they hear this one), and cap personal deductions in the aggregate (aimed, again, at the wealthy Dems). Let's use these fiscal cliff talks to point out how little of their fair share the liberals pay.

130 I'm not mad as hell, nor do I play them on TV.

I think I am tired of fighting many of these battles. The internecine fights, the slugfests with clueless liberals.

At this point, I am thinking that the only solution to the problem may be a massive tax hike. The only way to get people to internalize the spending problem, is to make them pay for the spending problem.

Somehow, I think if we do this, that it will get all the attention it so badly deserves.

Too bad no politician has the balls to do this.

Would I get off my ass and run for congress to do this? I dunno, I think I'd be fragged by socons for having the temerity to point out that their vocal an uncompromising (and generally unpopular with the electorate) positions places us at a disadvantage in total addressable electorate as well as alienating our natural allies.

But I frankly wouldn't give a rats ass about re-election. If the assholes who voted for Obama really want his program, then dammit, lets give it to them. Go full Monty on their sorry asses. Make sure everyone understands the impact of Obamas massive overspending and wealth transference.

This is a sure fire way to breed fiscons. Just gotta muzzle the socons long enough to bring more of our allies into the fold, then teach the socons to play nice and not start blowing shit up.

But it won't happen. A candidate who runs for office telling the truth is an anomaly and a guaranteed loser. A republican who doesn't pursue a more socon than thou and adopt some amazingly hard to explain positions to win the socons over, doesn't stand a chance.

So I am tired of this shit. I really am.

Therefore, instead of shoveling money to SuperPacs that spend big money on media buys that have small effect on elections we need to:

215 Don't raise the debt ceiling. Then they'll only be able to spend what
they take in! Where to make $1 trillion in cuts and how? Crickets.

It's not really up to us. We can end deficit spending by doing nothing on the debt limit. We can't actually affirmatively alter the spending without dem cooperation, so part of this is making them make the hard choices. If I had to guess that would mean no more spending on any medical program and significant military cuts. It's not so much a solution as a restoration of reality which is going to be painful all around, but only gets more painful the farther down the rabbit hole we go.

The
GOP is a bunch of inept RINOs, so let's form a new party! How a third
party which would appeal only to a conservative subset of Republican
voters could win power in a two-party system? Crickets.

You assume that conservatives are a subset of republicans. If you don't know anyone who didn't vote for Romney because he wasn't good enough this is likely to seem to you a valid assumption. If you know people who complain that there's no difference between the parties and who are conservative, then given the choice between fighting the dems for their voters and reaching out to conservatives the GOP has cast aside, you're probably going to be more inclined to try to please the people you have something in common with.

I don't at this point think there is a winning small government coalition to be had so long as the dems can keep their horde afloat with goodies. So sabotaging their ability to hand out free shit is the first order of business. But having an actual alternative to them is a necessary second step.

Posted by: really, really pis'd off ette at December 06, 2012 06:14 PM (nqBYe)

291 Honestly we need to work on language. Start changing the vernacular in our lives. This is something simple that we can do in our private lives and influence the narrative going forward.

For example:
We don't "ask" the rich to pay a little more in taxes, we compel them to and threaten jail time if they fail to comply.

We don't "give" tax breaks, we just take less money from individuals or companies

We don't "take away" benefits, we're just not giving them anymore

"Assault Weapons" are just about any object that's used to inflict (in an offensive manner) damage to another person's body or property

"Rights" are not entitlements to other people's goods or services like medical care.

And lastly, we need to start treating "Racism" like Goodwin's Law, first side to use it....loses.

There's a reason Republicans are saying "revenue" and Democrats are saying "taxes" right now, language is important. And we need to start fighting the manipulative use of language in our personal interactions. Change the narrative, change the culture...

Posted by: RizzyG at December 06, 2012 06:14 PM (FzyEN)

292 IAN'MAH' but I've maintained for a long time that there's a simple way to change folks' perception of how much they * really* pay in taxes, and which would dramatically shift the debate: make EVERYONE pay/file quarterly. No more withholding, AT ALL.

The whole withholding scheme was dreamed up by FDR's advisor (treas sec?) anyway, it's not sacrosanct.

310 All of the necessary reforms we need at the Federal level are accomplished by changing the way the federal government is actually funded. Repeal the 16th amendment and end the direct taxation of citizens by the federal government. Instead have the States raise all revenue via their own tax codes and have them fund the Federal government directly. What would this do:

* Money would flow one way: from the States to the Feds which would restore the principles of the 10th amendment.

* It would provide the States with authority over the Federal budget. Every nickel not wasted by the Feds is kept at the State level.

* It would align representatives with their state interests and less with lobbyists and special interests.

* It would eliminate all waste/pork. A bridge to no where in AK would not get funding from other 49 states.

* It is easier to accomplish than spending or tax reform as it does not require a proposal to eliminate a single budget item, or eliminate a single deduction.

* It would foster pro-growth tax codes among the States as people can move to different states to get out from under crushing tax burdens; not so with a Federal tax code.

* States themselves would endorse this idea as all revenue flows through State treasuries before going to the Feds. In an era of underfunded and cash strapped States this idea could have tremendous appeal.

Just an idea.

There's a place in the world for the angry young man
With his working class ties and his radical plans
He refuses to bend, he refuses to crawl,
He's always at home with his back to the wall.
And he's proud of his scars and the battles he's lost,
He struggles and bleeds as he hangs on the cross-
And he likes to be known as the angry young man.

Give a moment or two to the angry young man,
With his foot in his mouth and his heart in his hand.
He's been stabbed in the back, he's been misunderstood,
It's a comfort to know his intentions are good.
He sits in a room with a lock on the door,
With his maps and his medals laid out on the floor
And he likes to be known as the angry young man.

I believe I've passed the age of consciousness righteous rage
I found that just surviving was a noble fight.
I once believed in causes too, I had my pointless point of view,
Life went on no matter who was wrong or right,

And there's always a place for the angry young man,
With his fist in the air and his head in the sand.
And he's never been able to learn from mistakes,
He can't understand why his heart always breaks.
His honor is pure and his courage as well,
He's fair and he's true and he's boring as hell!
And he'll go to the grave as an angry old man.

Whoa, and there's always a place for the angry young man
With his working class ties and his radical plans
He refuses to bend, he refuses to crawl,
He's always at home with his back to the wall.
And he's proud of his scars and the battles he's lost,
He struggles and bleeds ‘til he hangs on the cross
And he likes to be known as the angry young man.

346 "the Republican economic message -- the way it's presented, the substance, whatever -- is not popular right now either"

The problem isn't the message, it's the filter and the listener.

The filter is the MSM; can't do much about that.

R's think they're saying: " if we don't reduce our spending, the country's economy will eventually (sooner rather than later) collapse further than it has so far."

The 47% hear: "takers, Freeloaders and other slackers who need to get jobs are dragging the economy down so that the rich can't get as rich as they want to. We're going to cut and gut all those welfare programs and giveaways so we can give the Richie Riches of the country a tax cut. Or at least not take anymore of their millions."

And so they voted for the guy who told them what they wanted to hear. Who knew that's what they wanted to hear. And who is now going to enact those policies.

The 47% out there aren't impressed or upset that even folks making 100,000 dollars will take a tax hit. The reason why is because they're not earning (if they can find work) much over 15k before taxes. They usually have at least one child and they work a job that is very taxing physically.

Too many have been trying to explain the facts to people who won't be affected by the facts. (well, until/if the great collapse comes and they don't see that happening and if it does, how much worse will things be for them? Really?)

Therefore, Mr. Obama, give us your balanced budget with tax hikes only on the rich, taxing the middle class and small businesses."

Good question: would it have been better for the South to surrender before Sherman's march to the sea? Would it have been better for Japan to surrender before Nagasaki?

I submit that yes, provided they did not stop seeking their ultimate goals. We have it in our power to save SOMETHING for our children by taking the fall ourselves.

Baloney. We live in a self-correcting system. Unlike Greece, there's no one to bail us out. At some point, that which is unsustainable will stop.

I want to read about it when the mighty wailing and gnashing of teeth begins. At Yale, for example, the day after the election, the staff were all told that their medical coverage would be cut beginning in 2013 from $12,000 a year to $2500, due to Obamacare.

The howls of rage were hilarious. Don't you want to read about stuff like that? I do. They all voted for Obama, and now that he's been re-elected, he's going to crap all over every single person who supported him.

In some city in Tennessee, every Denny's announced that all their employees would be cut to part time. The quotes from the Obama supporters were delicious, especially the ones who lost their health care and now couldn't afford to buy any, so they have to pay the Obamacare fine.

I want to read all their bitching so I can laugh at them.

Posted by: yankeefifth at December 06, 2012 06:36 PM (Z9EHQ)

380 Not mad as hell, but there are 3 key factors in why things keep moving in the wrong direction.
1) The 17th Amendment - The reality is that so long as this is in place, our attempts at changing things legislatively will ultimately fail because of the courts. Advise and consent became a pretty meaningless gesture once the Senate ceased to answer to the states.
Repeal should be conservative goal #1, #2 and #3. So long as it's a fringe Tea Party issue, it's got no chance. But it needs to be a long term goal, piece by piece inching towards it.
2) FDR's exploitation of WW2 and the Great Depression.
External threats increase the power of internal leaders. The left exploits this, the right doesn't.
Also, as horrible as it is to say, we need to practice our external scapegoating. We need someone to blame when things go wrong that's intuitive to the uninformed.
I'm guessing if you asked pretty much anyone in the general public who caused the financial collapse, they'd say Wall Street. Ask them how, they'll say something along the lines of "I dunno...greed?"
It's an intuitive narrative, so it doesn't have to make sense.
Mimicking the left on either of these is morally reprehensible, but a reality of war is if one side is willing to do something wrong, but effective, and the other side isn't, it'll take overwhelming skill and power for the latter side to win.
3) Follow the hippies and give up on politics.
Counterintuitive, but how do you think the left took over Hollywood, the press, the public schools and all of the universities? They saw no realistic way to get the body politic to buy into their goals, so they pursued other avenues of social change. And as a byproduct of these efforts they developed a massive brainwashing machine the likes of which we've never seen.
Political operations - volunteering, knocking on doors, making phone calls, developing databases, all great, but ultimately small potatoes as compared with controlling every means of shaping public opinion besides paid media. This is another long game, but it's about teaching our kids the right ideals and then convincing them to be idealists and pursue their goals of changing the world.
The other side of this is we understand business and money, they don't. We shouldn't be messing around with boycotts or lefty nonsense like that. Buy the newspapers. Buy the TV and movie studios. Granted, I doubt anyone with the necessary financial resources would be reading this, but you're all good conservatives, your kids will be among the most successful of their generation, there's no reason to think they won't eventually be in the position to buy up some major media operations.

In short - what we're seeing now has been a long time in the making, it won't be fixed overnight. Or over a decade even. But we can work politically to mitigate the damage the commies can do while we work on owning the future.

Am I wrong?
-
You are. It is mandatory to talk like Jon Huntsman now, and sneer at fundies and ignoramuses who don't believe in evolution-and-global-warming. If that doesn't drive the religious right away, you have to go further and further till the Jesus nuts quit.

And no more boring white guys; Jonah Goldberg said so (a while ago now).
http://tinyurl.com/8tn7nnw
And amnesty and continuing mass immigration and consolidating and increasing anti-White laws of all kinds are a must, of course. Arguably, as a cynical short-term measure, you may passively let the remaining straight White men vote for you - but but you must never explicitly appeal to their interests or do anything for them, and in a spirit of revolutionary zeal you must collaborate in policies that will inevitably reduce them as a share of the population, preferably to zero. As a chronic Mad-As-Hell type, I endorse the above. Loot this place, and plan your escape. I have an 11 year plan to pile up assets and move out. If things hold together better than I hope, then I'll stretch my time here further. I'm trying to get friends and a few family members (the betterones)to go with me. Some of my family has already gone, paving the way. If I must live in a socialist state governed by only brown folks, then so be it. I'll go live in one where they don't mind letting me keep more of my cash and really can't be bothered to harrass me. Where the central government is weak, and people with education and capital are rare - and thus valued. I may have to put up with culture that'sdominated by Catholicism, but they generally treat us Protestants pretty well these days.

America was,and for now still is, the best place on earth. But it's all going down. Figure out where you can best look to your own interests. And for Pete's sake - don't have kids. The world is winding down. There's no future left - don't inflict life on another generation who will only grow up to be slaves to theLeft.

397 I deal with it by being realistic. I live in a "conservative" state and went to school here. Of course, while at school I witnessed fellow Christians being physically attacked, having their dorm rooms vandalized, all for saying "God is nice and I like Him" in essence. So - not as conservative as could be.
I dunno, I always thought that the bigots were exclusively a leftwing thing, but they've gotten into the watersupply on the right too. Guess it's the old formula - you always get the hate your teacher had. And all the under-40's have all had teachers who taught how to hate the church-going.

I figured that November was the watershed. I honestly did not expect to lose - and now that we have, I thoroughly expect to see megadeaths in the next couple of years in our borders.

So that can get ya down. You know, expecting to see millions of people burned alive in a handful of nanoseconds sometime in the next few years.

So yeah, political discussions? Really don't have the Ooomph! that they once had. The urgency is gone, since the opportunity is gone.

I deal with it by planning a move to the center of our land mass with plenty of buffer between me and the 5000 degree plasma winds we'll inevitably be seeing.

I also deal with it by accepting that we're living under a tyrant and that is just the way things are.

Sometimes a slave can't do shit about his condition except wait for the chains to rust.

And for Pete's sake - don't have kids. The world is winding down. There's no future left

There's always a future for humanity, Reactionary, the question is how will it be lived.

The base purpose of life is to procreate, and our fathers did so through far worse than this. They rose from that barbarity, to subjugation under Rome, to devastation after, through the Midle Ages, through the wars of religion, to grow to dominate the entire globe. We can do so again, but only by perpetuating those gifts.

Maybe next time we won't feel guilty at our success.

403 If in so many places and so many races, R's are losing, then it has to be assumed that the voters don't agree with what the R's are saying.

Period. Full stop.

You can make value judgments all you want about whether they're "right" or "wrong" but the facts is the facts.

One of the reasons I want to see an actual conservative run is so that the repudiation by the electorate is clear and unequivocal.

We've been forced into running too many moderates and flip floppers for there to be a clear understanding that when the R's lose, it's the basic underlying ideals that are losing and not the person running.

Once that fact is established all the blather about messaging can cease and a conversation can take place about what the party should stand for and what it shouldn't.

Until then it's all ether.

Quitting on the notion of our constitutional republic being run by and for vapid, atheistic, and hedonistic fools is hardly blameworthy.

Quitting one's beating of a dead mule is not a sign of weak will.

Rather than being weak and surrendering, I envision being wise and allowing nature to take its course with this sadly failed experiment. Then rebuilding properly. That would be the opposite of what you are projecting onto me.

There is a literal"future" if you want to call it that. But it will not be worth living in. All that crap prior generations lived through - not worth it. Most of human life through history has been shit. One damn thing after another. We reproduce, as a species, only because sex is so damn wonderful and because we need the support when we're old. Well, now we can have sex without babies, and we don't need children to support us. We don't need to contribute to continuing the wretchedness that is human life.
FWIW, I don't agree about the purpose of life you propose. In my view, the duty/purpose is to love God and do for others as He commands. There is no obligation there to breed. Only to endure.
So, since all that I believe and valueis rejected by my fellow Americans and most people generally, I say LET IT BURN. And I will not produce any slaves for them to exploit. Not one bit of my DNA will be put to work for those scum.

409 I know this was a tongue-in-cheek post to make fun of MadAsHell, but how's this for a strategy for the Senate in 2014:

Demonize the living hell out of Harry Reid (I mean by running ads and having every Republican pol and spokesperson bash him nonstop) and then tie every single Dem Senate candidate to him in every state where there will be a Senate election in 2014. They voted for this vile freak for Majority Leader, make the fuckers own it. It shouldn't be that hard. I can't think of anybody who would be easier to demonize. He isn't likeable, he looks like a child molester, his voice is creepy as fuck, and his own words can be used against him to devastating effect.

For instance you could have an ad portraying him as a semi-psychotic, creepy old pervert. Play the clip of him saying Kristin Gillibrand is the hottest member of the Senate, then cut away to Buffalo Bill from Silence of the Lambs saying "it rubs the lotion on it's skin or else it gets the hose again". Then cut back to Reid saying Chris Coons is his pet. Then cut to Buffalo Bill saying "it places the lotion in the basket". I'm sure there's an abundance of video of him saying creepy things that could be mashed-up with quotes from movie psychos. And every Republican who has the balls to do so should imply that Reid is a creepy old pervert every opportunity they get.

Then you can have an ad portraying him an angry, miserable old fool. The clips of him calling people "evil-mongers" and talking about how the tourists stink up the Capitol building would work here, but again, I'm sure there's much more that could be used.

Third, hit him hard on his attempt to end the filibuster. Clip after clip of Dem Senators going batshit crazy over the discussion of using the nuclear option to get a nominee confirmed, interspersed with Reid talking about ending the filibuster. Paint Reid as an extremist and the rest of them as shameless, craven, lying hipocrits.

Then go after him on his failure to pass a single budget in his entire tenure as majority leader. Beat the hell out of him over this. Blame him for the country's fiscal mess and blame every Dem Senate candidate for making him Majority Leader.

Dehumanize him and make him radioactive, and then use him to tar the rest of the Dem candidates by association. Hammer home the point that no matter how nice and upstanding the Dem candidate seems they are nothing but Harry Reid's puppet, and if they are elected, the vile, corrupt, lying, incompetent, irresponsible, immoral, hipocritical, sexually-deviant criminal Harry Reid, who might even be a child molester, will remain Senate Majority Leader. And we can't have reprehensible scum like Harry Reid as Majority Leader, can we?

Boehner should ask for $1 trillion in spending cuts next year, since that's how much money the federal government wastes every year, according to American Thinker. Then he should askfor the top income tax rate to be lowered to 28% in order to actually raise revenues - that's what it was in the Reagan years when the GDP and revenues doubled.
Then he should stand up and fart in Obama's smug face. Seriously.

Doing that, and I did these things this year, got us all of nothing this year. Not a fucking thing. I have very little hope for the future based simply on the mathematics of it, economically. On top of which, "our" party is proceeding to grab ankles at Bumbles' command. Why the fuck do any of this shit?

We are spending far more than we take in, more than we COULD take in, and China is divesting dollars right now. We have a hollowed out manufacturing base, an aggressively ignorant population, and an eviscerated social structure. Everyone is in their atomized little groups, and are being taught nothing but pablum and perversion.

Sorry to be Debby Downer, but there really is very little hope. The Rs get in office and fold like a cheap suit. The Ds get in office and spend us into oblivion. Where exactly do you see any chance for an traditionalist American recovery in this current milieu?

In your opinion. Some of us have different opinions. We look at the razor-thin margin of Obama's victory and the fact that we now have 38 Republican governors, and we realize that things aren't as dire as some would have us believe.

The electorate rejected Romney because Romney let Obama define him. A better candidate would've won, and everybody here would then be saying that it's liberalism that had been soundly defeated, and over at Kos they'd be saying the same things about the future as you are now.

llarry,

no matter who is elected, we have an entitlement monster that is costing our full tax revenue or thereabouts before we get to any other spending, we have a truly craven political class, and we have a demographic timebomb of retirements and public sector pensions coming due. Not to mention all of the above mentioned problems from my earlier post AND a constant reduction in tax rates since the 1980s to the effect that nearly half the nation pays no income tax.

Which of these things is going to change? We can't cut taxes any more to any great effect, we have the solid foundation of future full-blown socialism in Obamacare, and we are playing social engineer with our military. We are aborting the shit out of our future generations of taxpayers and substituting them with third-world socialist-raised menial laborers.

It's more than an opinion that we are in a state of actual collapse.

The opinions come in with "what to do." I have yet to see a cogent reason for believing that electoral politics can turn this around. Please show me how you think electing a clown (or a clown car) with an R behind their name is going to matter.

438 It has to test your sanity to have a blog, put a lot of work into it over many years and read some of the comments. Humanity is just so weird (self included). I have a blog but don't get many comments for which I am grateful.

But I'm thinking about starting another blog that actually might generate comments. I was reading Dr. Sowell a few days ago and he was demonstrating how lowering taxes increases tax revenues. It's an historic fact back to Coolidge. It's science. And it should be talked about every day, say the way the Media talks about taxing the top two percent more to increase tax revenues. Which, of course, doesn't work. But the Republicans don't mention it the way O mentions his lie.

So I want to build another blog about this thing that could lead to our secular salvation. There should be a party built around it. If it was only about this it would attract Dems and Reps. Leave the other issues to the states. Because there's not going to be a country for us to fight about unless we figure this one out. And it's not like it's difficult to understand, as Dr. Sowell pointed out. It's just that nobody is hitting the average moron with it about the head like O does every time (every day) he mentions "the rich".

You say that the Democrats can always out bid us on free shit? I say you are wrong. We have a free shit ace up our sleeve and it is one that will split the Democrat coalition.

Forty acres and a mule. Slavery reparations baby.

Not slavery reparations as in endless affirmative action and special government programs. Slavery reparations as in clear title to forty acres of US of A. The federal government owns millions of acres and thanks to the Green component of the Democrat coalition no economic benefit can be derived from much of that land. Salazar has defied court orders directing him to issue permits to allow drilling for oil and natural gas on that land.

What if oil companies just had to get signatures from the owners of the forty acre sections in the area they want to drill? Would the Democrats try to prevent those descendents of slaves from seeing the full value of their reparations? The Democrats stole the labor of black people for years as slaves and then with Jim Crow laws. Now will they try to steal their inheritance? Probably. Could that cause a crack in the 95% rate of black voters casting ballots for Democrats?

The worst case is that the government transfers enormous amounts of land into the private sector where it will be put to its most economic use as determined by the owners. The best case is that much more energy is available, the price of gasoline drops and there is open warfare between the Greens and the Blacks.
