Obama: "America Is Poised To Take Off," If Only Congress Would Do What I Want

Political dysfunction -- what you have when Republicans won't roll over for liberals.

In an interview with Bloomberg's Julianna Goldman, President Barack Obama stated, "I think America is poised to take off." The main obstacle, in Obama's mind, however, is political dysfunction.

"We're seeing pretty strong consumer confidence, despite weaknesses in Europe and even in Asia. I think America is poised to take off. And the question is, let's make sure that we don't have a self-inflicted wound, because there are a lot of silly games played up on Capitol Hill," Obama told Goldman.

The embassy staff complained that she treated the place like a bordello and that the couch in the embassy library had a higher sperm count than most men.

The US Ambassador was appointed by FDR and was a pwogressive from University of Chicago. The kids were both committed commies, and the daughter spied for Stalin. It was your typical democrat family. You think they are going to show even a fictionalized version of this on television??

I wrote Obama about it. Why should I, a high-school drop out with facial piercings, dozens of tattoos, no marketable skills and slurred speech have to clean up the 1%'s shit?

That's what Democracy is. Making sure winners like me can live the life of ancient Persian kings.

98 Been reading Mill's Considerations on Representative Government. I think it's overlooked. He nailed our problem head on by saying a society unwilling to care about its future will not last long; Rome experienced great prosperity under Augustus by burning through the wealth and stability built up over centuries, leading to the likes of Caligula, Nero, the chaos of the 3rd Century, and eventual collapse.

Rome mostly paid for its binge in cash, as it lacked the financial tools to bankrupt future generations in debt. We're not so fortunate.

100 Mark Levin has been ranting every night about howGOP leadership isn't smart enough to figure out how to playthe left's games.
His idea: let the House pass a bill thatSLASHES the middle tax rates, leaves the topand bottom ratesalone.Send it to the Senate and let Dingy Harry deal with it.
Thenthe Dems can't holler that Republicanswant to raise taxes on middle Americans or want tax cuts for the rich.

One thing: The GOP will be blamed *no matter what*.

If the economy sucks, the GOP will be blamed just...because.

There is a significant portion of the population that will simply never ever blame Obama for any failure. And that group includes the media.

Seriously. Give in, don't give in, Obama comes back with middle-class tax cuts, whatever, it doesn't matter.

And I say if he proposed a middle class tax cut after the cliff, you (a) point it out (even though the media will ignore it) and (b) insist that it be extended to all but the 0.1%.

Why? Because that group votes Democrat.

105 Obama has made a lot of economic predictions. I don't recall any of them being borne out by reality. "Recovery summer" anyone?

Time for that graph of unemployment with and without the simulus again.

109 On the bright side, with Obama still in office and the American and Canadian MFM making excuses for him and pretending the economy is in great shape, our Conservative government isn't getting hammered in the MFM over the economy because ours is doing better than the American that the MFM is praising to blow Obama. Thanks, guys!

Yeah, but did you see that Bowles came out today to say that's not possible, because the circumstances are different? GOP lost all their negotiating leverage, natch.

Just to settle a bet, has Barky ever darkened the door of an economics classroom? Cracked a textbook of economics? Colored in a coloring book of economics? Successfully spell "economics?"

No? Well, then he's the perfect guy to offer predictions then.

Obama: "America Is Poised To Take Off," If Only Congress Would Do What I Want

120 I have never hated a person that I have never met the way I hate this one. He makes me sick, I can't stand to listen to him, see him, etc.

TFG is a vindictive man, he wants to blame everyone but himself.
I hope he picks Kerry as SOS or SOD. I was reading an article in Commentary online. Some of his former staffers have written how indecisive he is, he can't even decide which one of his staff deserves a promotion. Kerry also called Assad "one of his dearest friends." Obama and Kerry have a trait in common, besides their egos, they both have horrible judgement.

Love the pic on the sidebar Ace, the one that says "Obama your bitch is our dictator."

"America Is Poised To Take Off," If Only Congress Would Do What I Want

---

This
is a winning argument and the majority of Americans will believe it.
We're in a post-reality phase right now. Reality used to matter. It
doesn't matter right now. It will matter in the future. And when reality
does matter again, there will be hell to pay.

Posted by: WalrusRex at December 04, 2012 06:23 PM (Hx5uv)

So why wasn't it a winning argument when R's said it?
Looking at big vs small gov't, taking your $$$ and spending it vs. you yourself spending your $$$ = WIN??? On what planet? Or is it the rubes bought into "tax the rich" as the solution, without comprehending that they are next?

It's all so ineffably sad.
