Prosecutors in Trayvon Martin Case Finally Release Picture of George Zimmerman With Bloody, Clearly Broken Nose

The image was released as part of the state’s ninth supplemental discovery, and more documents could follow, Zimmerman’s lawyers say.

By "supplemental discovery," I assume they mean that this was not released in the main discovery, but is only being released now because there has been an argument that this, in fact, helps make the defendants' case, whereas before they were taking the position that it was immaterial either way.

And as far as that last part -- immaterial? On what planet?

Prosecute this prosecutor.

Update: They previously released a grainy black and white photocopy of the picture in their main discovery.

Why? Why would they release the photocopy but not the best evidence (the actual picture)?

Because, of course, the best evidence makes it very clear that Zimmermann was pummeled whereas the black and white picture, being grainy, is open to a bit of interpretation. In the black and white picture, you can't tell his face is bloodied -- it just looks like the hair of his mustache and goatee.

Bring her up for bar review and discipline. And possibly prosecution. This is not a mistake; this is a clear decision to deny the defendant evidence that helps his case, to which he is legally entitled.

Thanks to Andy.

Providing poor bw copies of color photos in discovery is one of the oldest tricks in the book. Generally, the deal is that both sides do it and then there's only a push for the color copies when it looks like trial is getting close.

I've never done criminal work but it's my understanding that the rules are somewhat different for criminal discovery since there's an affirmative obligation on the part of the prosecution to disclose. I could be wrong about that though.

The defense said, no, they printed a copy of the email and attachment and produced that. They wanted the actual electronic file.

The prosecutor said, "but we've already produced the photo," and genuinely looked confused about the difference between a black-and-white printout of an attachment and an actual electronic copy of it.

Corrupt AND incompetent.

SCHNITT SHOW CALLER CLAIMS JOVAN BELCHER WAS BRUTAL BULLY

TAMPA, Fla. (SchnittShow.com) Monday, a caller on the nationally syndicated “Schnitt Show” claimed his family was terrorized by Jovan Belcher, the Kansas City Chiefs star who killed his girlfriend before taking his own life Saturday.

The caller, who raised his family on Long Island, says his son attended school with Jovan, who regularly bullied and beat up his son.

“We went to the police, we went to the Department of Education. We couldn’t do nothing about this kid. Around adults, he always acted like he was such a sweet little guy.”

The caller eventually had to relocate his family to Florida, just to get away from Belcher.

About Belcher, the caller said, “ He destroyed my family. He should have been dead 10 years ago.”
Finally, the caller said, “I’d like to know where he’s buried, so I can go and pee on it.”

It is the intent if the MB to make that harder, and then allow the mosques to be food distribution centers (it doesn't have the same veneer of 'shame' food pantries have in America, because it is viewed as being handed out by the extended family as part of the family duty, in return you give the mosque leaders honor and social status above you.)

With the new constitution that makes the mosques the source of social services, food distribution, judicial matters, and such.

Not towing the party line? Your women aren't wearing their burka? Guess how the cases against you are decided, and what happens to your food rations?

This is pretty big news, imho:

Obama Gets Humiliated in the Pacific

It is symptomatic of the national condition of the United States that the worst humiliation ever suffered by it as a nation, and by a US president personally, passed almost without comment last week. I refer to the November 20 announcement at a summit meeting in Phnom Penh that 15 Asian nations, comprising half the world's population, would form a Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership excluding the United States.

President Barack Obama attended the summit to sell a US-based Trans-Pacific Partnership excluding China. He didn't. The American led-partnership became a party to which no-one came.

Instead, the Association of Southeast Asian Nations, plus China, India, Japan, South Korea, Australia and New Zealand, will form a club and leave out the United States. As 3 billion Asians become prosperous, interest fades in the prospective contribution of 300 million Americans - especially when those Americans decline to take risks on new technologies. America's great economic strength, namely its capacity to innovate, exists mainly in memory four years after the 2008 economic crisis...

Israelis retaliate the simple recognition of Palestinians by UN by deciding to build 3,000 more settlements. Bullies!
Why do Israelis need to be "recognized" by Palestinians. Did Native Americans need to "recognize" their tormentors?

This is Steam Control, as Tom Wolfe put it in "Bonfire of the Vanities"; this is what the 93% demand, since the US government has not, and can not, give them anything else that will last.

Well, Zimmerman's death will last.

260 "Bring her up for bar review and discipline. And possibly prosecution. This is not a mistake; this is a clear decision to deny the defendant evidence that helps his case, to which he is legally entitled."

Oh, you want justice? Sorry, we don't do that justice thing anymore, especially when it doesn't fit The Narrative. Ask Zimmerman. Ask that guy who made the Mohammed YouTube video. Ask those New Black Panther dudes who showed up en masse at the polls in Philly this year. Ask those American federal agents and those Mexican nationals murdered as a direct result of American government policy and planning. Oh, wait, right. You can't ask them. They're dead.

As an aside, there's a new racial category on gun buying applications now: "White Hispanic". Not kidding.

261 I am having trouble processing the right words on this. The prosecutor saw an opportunity to burnish her image, no matter if she had to resurrect and make a saint of Mr. Martin while turning Mr. Zimmerman into a devil. I am trying to decide which of the Circles of Dante's Hell she needs to go.

In South America, they call groups who rove around at night cracking heads and disappearing people 'death squads'. So yeah, I guess Romney was too much of a Boy Scout to authorize fucking death squads.

266 Facts are this guy is an idiot but Trayvon was no angel. He approached Zimmerman, confronted him and proceeded to kick his ass. Why Zimmerman felt that was a reason to shoot I don't know. I'm sure he will say he thought Trayvon was going for his gun but only 2 people know the truth and one of them is dead.

268 Best Evidence rule requires that the original color photo be admitted, and prohibits the admission of a photocopy of a document or picture unless the original is unavailable. Someone should be losing their law license right about now.

Posted by: Billy at December 03, 2012 11:25 PM (YtZ9K)

269 About the Zimmerman photos released in discovery...I am EXTREMELY
FAMILIAR w/this issue, since I've received ~3,000 discovery disclosures
from FL prosecutors over the years.

Most prosecutors will NOT
send you color copies of color photos--I think it's probably just cause
their secretaries, who actually prepare the disco packets, don't have
color photocopiers. The original photos are of course produced by cops,
at least 98% of the time. Most of the time, the difference between color
vs BW is immaterial.

The FL discovery rule, FRCP 3.220, doesn't
actually REQUIRE the prosecutor to provide ANY copies...it only requires
them to provide ACCESS to the discovery (police reports, photos, tapes,
etc), and then you (the defense) may then copy it on your time dime.
However, this wd force prosecutors to have dozens of defense attorneys
walking around their offices all day, so they avoid this by simply
sending us the photocopies.

Not to backseat drive this car, but
even the black white photo is pretty inflammatory...If I'm defending a
murder charge (very high profile), I like to think I'd be on the phone
to the prosecutor to ask him if there WAS a color original of the BW
photocopy.

Maybe they did? And the prosecutor stonewalled them?
If so, then this will be a huge advantage in a potential Motion to
Dismiss for "StandYourGround"--good equity for the judge, helps to
offset that bad equity re the bail issue a few months back.

BTW, I am a real FL defense attorney, but I don't play one on TV.

270 It was an electronic color copy - a digital picture. Absolutely no reason to run off a copy. Email it.

271 I would think that Zimmerman would have a really strong case for malicious prosecution against the DA's office, once this travesty is over with.

With any luck, his family can live in luxury forever and laugh at the bottomfeeders who organized this lynch mob.

Living well is the best revenge.

Though having a prosecutor disbarred would be a plus, too.

Uh, no. You are not on the jury. The evidence is only relevant in the context of the courtroom trial, not the trial in the court of public opinion.

273 ni-fong v.

1. to be railroaded by a prosecutor in order to score points for their political career.

2. for a prosecutor to totally fuck up their political career entire life by trying to railroad a defendant by lying, hiding evidence and bringing charges that are not supported by any evidence.

Where on the face of this planet can George Zimmerman, newly flush with cash or not, go to live out a long, happy life? He will always ALWAYS be looking over his shoulder for some racist, vengeful dipshit with murderous intent. A job? Who would hire George "The Executioner" Zimmerman and risk the wrath of the Race Industry / MSM?

No, he's looking at a name change, plastic surgery, and witness relo - and they will *still* never stop looking for him. Hell, look at the comments on any open forum. There are people - lots of people - who KNOW with all their heart that GZ stalked St. Skittles like a trained assassin and then murdered him in the most racist manner imaginable. These mouthbreathers will never be disabused of that religious belief.

FL may pay. NBC may pay. But it won't change their behavior one bit.

Let it burn. Split it up. Reset button.

279 Couldn't help noticing the headlines on CNN and Daily News Yesterday, announcing release of picture showing GZ with a "bloody lip."

How about a smashed nose?
The MSM burying any self defense evidence is truly at appalling levels.

So, at least, you have a guy who was punched hard in the face (sucker punch?) and then after he goes down has his head repeatedly slammed into the pavement before drawing his weapon.

Indeed, as one commentator put it, if the scenario GZ described is correct (and it seems supported by the forensics) to find this other than justified self defense is to say that GZ had a legal duty to let his attacker kill him (or trust that he would stop brutalizing him once he lost consciousness).

And, MSM news outlets had the gall to run the "new" GZ picture (with the misleading "bloody lip" headline) along with the old, old T Martin "Hollister" T Shirt picture (T Martin as a 12 or 13 year old).

The MSM (and prosecutor) should truly be ashamed.

The media are incessantly trying to bury any evidence of self-defense

I don't know why you would make this criticism. I think most people without a stake in The Narrative; that is, those of us who are not the prosecutor, the media, the Holder Justice Department, et al, want Zimmerman to receive a fair trial. Some, like me, don't believe Zimmerman will receive a trial whatever happens, however justified or lawful the shooting. Too much has been invested in Zimmerman's guilt. Personally, I find most galling those long-outdated kid pics of poor little Trayvon. Trayvon was legally an adult. Trayvon sold dope. Trayvon was searched at school a few weeks before his death and was found with BE tools (such as a filed-down screwdriver ideal for prising open lockers)and valuables that didn't belong to him. Trayvon was also probably/possibly one of the thieves responsible for numerousbreak-ins of neighborhood homes that month, which was one of the reasons Zimmerman was out that night on Neighborhood Watch.

The initial police response was the correct response, determining that it was ajustifiable shooting by Zimmerman acting in self-defense. I'm guessing the prosecutor saw her big chance and took it.
