On today's book thread I wrote:

I have lost the ability to post comments on this blog. It doesn't tell me I've been banned, it's just that when I enter a comment and click on the 'Post' button, the screen refreshes and the comment simply disappears and does not appear in the comment list. This occurs whether I use IE, FF, or Chrome, and it doesn't matter if I'm in Linux or Windows. I've also reset my modem and gotten a new IP address, but I still can't comment. Anyone else run into this before?

I wonder how many other morons this has happened to besides me. If you're reading this and are unable to comment for some mysterious reason, not because you've been accidentally banned, please send an email to me (OregonMuse and then the at-sign and then yahoo, then dot, and finally com); I just want to get a count. I can't promise anything, but if I get a lot of responses, maybe I can rattle some cages and get it looked at.

Why does it give me all these options for bold, italics, underlined, etc... when none of them have ever worked?

You are unaware that before the Pixy software upgrade, all that stuff worked. So rather than disable it and remove it, it just got disabled (and remains to taunt all of us about why AoS can't have nice things)!

They worked years ago but folks got into a competition over how much coding wierdness that could create (my favorite to see was the marquis scrolling sockpuppet) but they broke the blog several times and pixy got tired of fixing it and just shut all that stuff down.

In keeping with hallowed AoS traditions, the software was BETTER before the "upgrade". In fairness to Pixy though, it was a required upgrade to keep some vicious trolls at bay.

Someone yesterday told me how to do it, in Safari. I tried and it didn't work.
I have old Dell laptop I use to work from home, it's easier going from a windows computer that a Mac, but program I use works either way.

I have selected show fonts, changed to bold and hit selected area of page and nothing happens. I'll try on Dell tomorrow.
