If the temperature bothers you the Philadelphia area is a rather damp and chilly 46 degrees with the nth consecutive day of gray, overcast skies, with maybe five minutes of sunshine per day.
The only good thing about it... well, actually there's nothing good about it, and it will probably be a carbon copy of this (plus 5 degrees, minus 40 degrees) until about April.

They're doing a lifetime warranty on gand tools. I have a storage shed full of power tools I got from there ten years ago that I expected to be disposable but they still work.
I had to buy a couple of dozen 18 volt cordless drills for assembly (not a whole lot of torque). I paid like $15.00 bucks a piece for them.
I've also spent a few hundred on Makitatools that would crap out after a year

I'd love it if somebody would make a 9v battery for power tools that didn't crap out in 3 months. No one has yet in my experience.

I saw a neat vid about revitalizing what may seem to be completely dead power tool batteries.
Maybe someone smarter could explain why this works. Put the battery in the charger and very rapidly plug it in the receptacle and remove it. Do this about 10 times in succession.
For some reason, it restarts the chemical processes. I've tried this and it worked on some of my old batteries, but not all. I guess I have about a 50-60% success rate

I'll have to remember that trick, too. I inherited a bunch of tools from B'Gal's Dad a few years ago, among them was a nearly new Milwaukee hand drill, 12V. I swear that thing has enough torque to start a car.
I love power tools that you have to work with both hands. Power is good.

For years I've wondered why my son never got serious with a girl -- he's low 30's. The girls/women I'd see him with were pretty much okay. Met his new g/f at Thanksgiving. Working on her doctorate within the year. I saw her notes in spare bedroom, formula's that I had no clue about, and I'm kinda good at that stuff.
She eats right, exercises, has a very decent shape, and a brain. He's toast. It's not a question of if, but when. Smart is very, very sexy to smart guys.

That's a feature, not a bug. It's the same business model as shaving razors, where you take a loss on the shaver, to make a bundle selling blades.

See my answer above. They make their money selling you the batteries. Why would they want to limit their profit margin by selling you a long-lasting battery?

have a storage shed full of power tools I got from there ten years ago
that I expected to be disposable but they still work.
I had to buy a
couple of dozen 18 volt cordless drills for assembly (not a whole lot of
torque). I paid like $15.00 bucks a piece for them.
I've also spent a few hundred on Makitatools that would crap out after a year
