Right Wing Wacko Jay Leno: It's Very Dangerous For Obama If the Press Starts Asking Him Real Questions

He also notes a CBS question was the first question about Benghazi asked of Obama, apart from Fox.

It's something, I guess.

75 Ok i hate making substansive comments but here we go: My biggest gripe is that the Benghazi question keeps getting framed as "who lied to the public about who attacked?" or "why did they attack?" when what needs to get pounded on is "WHO ordered the stand down of rescue forces when NEARLY FOURTY people were in peril?"

Sadly most people think losing four people "for the good of the nation" however the president defines it, is ok these days. Movies perpetuate this idea. BUT!!! movies also perpetuate the idea that the country abandoning NEARLY FOURTY to death or worse, for secret govt purposes is totally creepy. Use the current culture against them!

Pound on the big number denied rescue. Pound on the fact they were rescued by men who DISOBEYED an order to let it all happen, no matter how they were begged for help or what they heard happening at the compound. Then Two of the rescuers died, and the survivors disappeared. THATS your winner.

Reminds me of the guy who plays Jax Teller on Sons of Anarchy.

For most of my entire adult life, Robert Redford has been a leathery, pizza faced dude who hosts some sort of film festival in fucking Utah of all places.

90 25 I watch Rockford Files re-runs. The other night Rockford got tied up with a hippie chick who was all into new age religion and bunch of crap. When she started lecturing him about how sad it was that an animal had to die so he could eat the burger he just ordered, he let her have it regarding her self-absorbed, cowardly lifestyle. That would never happen in TV today. And Garner was/is a lib. (I don't know if he has drunk the Obama-ade or not.)

The power is in the packaging. You market it as typical left-wing garbage art, but then you make the message something that is so close the edge between leftist laudable and leftist laughable that they can't tell the diference. So long as you present it with an air of snobbish superiority -- "You can't POSSIBLY understand my meaning because I'm just TOO SMART for you" -- then you can get away with a LOT. And the best part is, the average American -- the one who looks at a jackson Pollock painting and goes, "It looks like vomit" -- will either

A) Get the joke; or
B) Think that the joke was unintentional and that they're brilliant for thinking it up

Win win.

And the best part is that years later you can come forward and say, "Yeah, it was totally a subversive, anti-Fluke piece. Because she's a fucking whore."

Of course, no one would be able to go to a Starbucks again for while because they'd need time to clean all the exploded brain matter off the windows.

Just highlight the linked text in question, but go a little beyond the link on either or both sides so that you've highlighted a little bit of unlinked text, too. Then click the little chainlink "link" icon in the format bar. When it pops up you'll see that the space where you'd normally put the hyperlink( if this wasn't a broken blog) is blank. Click "Insert" then close the popup. I think there is debate about that now--as in the CIA is saying they were not the ones that ordered him to stay at the annex--perhaps that was someone else.

Now I guess it was a part of the Imminent Danger Warning system that the operator in the TOC at the consulate activated that Woods could hear the pleas for help.

(Doherty is scrambling for a chartered plane and is part of the eight man rescue team that arrives four hours later from Tripoli.)

Woods and some un-named others--and about 17 Libyan guards went over and rescued about 28 American staff from the Consulate.(the exact number is still hard to pin down.)

Had Tyrone Woods not done all of that--

Obama most likely would have had a Carter like hostage situation in the Middle East in time for the election.

Comedians poking fun and or mocking the President is as old as old as the republic.

The Problem is that they are not allowed to make fun of Obama, they are not allowed to mock him, they are not allowed to belittle or berate him as they have done to every past President.

So there has to be a little sub-surface churn within him that from time to time surfaces.

Munch’s membership has grown to about 30 members from seven when it began more than a year ago and is one of 15 student organization that will be approved by Harvard’s Committee on Student Life this Friday.

None of the group’s members quoted by the media have been willing to give their full names.

201 Do the leaves on my property once with a rake. Make sure to plan for four days off. Then you can start all over again, when you're done.

Sounds like my house when I was a kid. I don't know why anyone even bothered to try raking around that place. It was a lot of ground overhung with a shitload of trees.

The thing is, for large properties where a leafblower is preferable, your neighbors typically aren't RIGHT next to you. There's usually at least a little separation, so the noise and the smell of the leafblower aren't too bad. And even for small properties, the amount of time you'd have the leafblower turned on is brief enough (hopefully) that the disturbance is manageable.

It's when you're sitting in your office with the !Si Se Puede! crowd outside blowing leaves around the same five square foot plot of mulch and squirrels for an hour and a half that one starts to contemplate murder.

225 85 I'm not interested in that script that blanks some commenters, but I'd love one that highlights certain commenters.

Is that doable by one of you coding hotshots? Posted by: Invictus at November 30, 2012 12:54 PM (OQpzc) Hide posts from (OQpzc)

I'm no hotshot, but if you're still around I'd be willing to throw it together for you. Check the ONT tonight; if I get to it I'll put a link up there.

226 Looking to Leno for political coverage is like looking to Leno to be funny. He almost gets you there, but not quite. His humor can'tbe too cutting, even ifhe was able-- he works for NBC, owned by GE. He's on a short leash, and even if it were longer, his bite would probably be all gums. Fuck Hollywod - definitely let that one burn.

I lost all mine in a tragic boating accident. And what kind of idiot stores survival rations in a location that has any connection to family or anything that would be a trail for the feds, who have all records available for data mining?

I actually felt my blood pressure decrease substantially when I made the recent transition from LiB/MiB to WiB (+ marshmellows). As an atheist, it made me appreciate how powerful the Serenity Prayer is yet again...especially when we godless swine just leave the first word off.

234 Belated Happy Thanksgiving to all. I am just scanning blogs as have been busy with family and travel.

I am not going to "move on" as Jay Carney and others want us to. Just today, my mother-in-law was informed not to trust 100% her Brian Williams (she was yapping about him saying Superstorm Sandy was due to global warming). I am very polite to her, always have been, in spite of her Yankee ways and prejudices (me being a Redneck Presbyterian Republican Conservative). She believes ANYTHING her liberal brother in NYC tells her, or CNN tells her, etc. I told her of the British press reporting the truth on Benghazi on September 12th (Libya...the murdered ambassador----she may not have any freaking idea what I was talking about). I then launched into the White House controlling the press.

While she may think I am nuts, I do not care. Like Popeye, I yam what I yam.

This is the Barky Honeymoon II phase until after the New Year---providing the Mayan Calendar is not correct and we all perish on December 21st, which would stink as I have things to do next year in spite of us falling off a cliff. Where was I? Oh, yes: the press. While they may continue to play whiffle-ball, something is going to eventually happen where they have to ask Jug-Ears some presidential questions. Or, maybe not. I just keep thinking this is the calm before the storm(s) and I do not mean hurricanes.

Blessings to all who read Ace.

236 Good job, Leno. Impeccable timing.

Now, when you see a house on fire, is it your MO to cut the phone lines to the fire department and then, after the fire has burned itself and the inhabitants out, say to the injured escapees, "Hey, it would have been nice if the fire department showed up."?

You, buddy, are partly and tangibly responsible for the mess we're in. You set your megaphone to the "Protect Obama" setting until it doesn't f*ck*ng matter anymore.

Posted by: AnonymousDrivel at November 30, 2012 05:01 PM (eHIJJ)

237 I watch Leno most nights. I do believe he is a liberal and voted for Obama -- in particular, he seemed to buy into the idea of there being a "war on women." He seemed surprised when Dennis Miller denied the idea of the "war on women" when he was a guest.

That said, though, Leno is basically an "old school" comedian. The goal of his comedy is not to build up the Democrats and tear down the Republicans (nor, of course, vice versa), but to comment on whatever is going on.

And Leno did have a similar joke the week before the election: "Well, ‘Don't Ask, Don't Tell’ is back - not for gays in the military. It's President Obama's new policy for questions about Libya."

Posted by: Joshua at November 30, 2012 11:25 PM (P1DTP)

238 Leno had another joke along these lines last week:

"The Chinese are now planning to construct the world's tallest building. They say that by using modular construction, they will be able to build five stories a day. Five new stories a day! That's like the White House trying to explain Benghazi."
