Good Morning.

I'll leave you with this until I post the news dump. A Belgian man finds out his wife of 19 years was born a man. No photos at the link. I'm sure they'll leak out as this story gets legs.

13 The story first broke stipulating the Belgian's wife was Indonesian. Their jungles hosts cannibals. At least the wife wasn't that.

Moral of the story? Do not assume your date/fiance/spouse has always been the gender as when you first met. Funny, evidently people DO change.

That they'd been married 19 years, perhaps not in bliss, may be the reason for divorce.

...
Political Science 201: Research and Analysis, goes on to ask students “to write and speak in a way that does not assume American-ness, maleness, whiteness, heterosexuality, middle-class status, etc. to be the norm.” So "do not assume"... It doesn't say "disavow" or "disregard." It says do not assume. Do not assume that do not assume means more than do not assume. That's where the teacher failed. She didn't anticipate the way her message would be perceived by incoming students. She repelled this student. And there's the other irony: She was not — to use the word she seems to treasure — inclusive.

Aided by hormone injections, transsexual males can gain female-like sexual organs, minimize their facial hair, and even gain weight around the buttocks rather than the belly, as men can.

Anyway – morning, ‘rons and ‘ronettes. No time for anything but one quick story today. For a change of pace, it’s about the 19th century composer and pianist Franz Liszt:

At one time there was a young woman who had announced a piano recital in Berlin. Hoping to attract a large audience, she advertised herself as "a pupil of Liszt," even though she'd never laid eyes on him in her life. As you’d expect, on the morning of her concert, the newspapers reported that Liszt was visiting the city. Knowing that she couldn't get away with her deception, she went to Liszt's hotel, asked to see him and, in tears, confessed everything.

Liszt asked her the names of the pieces she was planning to play; he chose one and asked her to perform. When she had finished, he sat down next to her and played the piece himself, going note by note with her and giving her notes on performance and interpretation.

"Now," he ordered when he’d finished, "play it again."

So she did, taking to heart everything the composer had suggested. When she had finished, Liszt sat in silence for a long moment before standing, taking her hand and kissing it. "Now, my dear," he smiled, "for the rest of your life you can call yourself a pupil of Liszt."

Hope you all have a wonderful day.

39 The problem with gender identity is that people are encouraged to decide for themselves these days.

So you have many many people running around with male parts, who are calling themselves females. And their partners call them female too, even though their female "friends" have more or less fully functional male parts.

It seems the opposite is less true, but the case on which the movie "Boys Don't Cry" is one of them. And it got her/him killed for it, so...

The study (“Retail’s Hidden Potential: How Raising Wages Would Benefit Workers, the Industry and the Overall Economy”) came from Demos, whose nice-sounding goal is to “make equality and democracy more than just ideals.”

In my opinion, he should go but say very little. Obama says this is closed press so I imagine this lunch is purely for Obama to do the following things:

1. Gloat in Romney's face.
2. Attampt to pick his brain for ideas which he will make sure NOT to do since he is not interested in fixing the economy but destroying the nation.
3. Attempt to bully him into taking some chairmanship position so that Obama can blame him.

All of Liszt's teaching was done gratisOver four hundred in his lifetime, a variety of different
nationalities: American, Austrian, Belgian, Bohemian, British, Canadian,
Danish, Dutch, Finnish, French, German, Hungarian, Italian, Monacan,
Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Swedish, Swiss, and
Turkish (Walker 249-52)
Walker points out that the definition of “pupil” may be varied -
could be constant or could be a one-time deal (Walker, "Liszt as
Teacher," Grove)Student August Stradel tells a story about walking with Liszt and
hearing a piece of Liszt’s being played poorly. Liszt knocked on the
door and showed the young woman playing the piece some passages, working
with her a bit. A week later Gille went to visit Liszt and told him
that the woman had put a sign on her door: “H.J., pupil of Franz Liszt.”
(Stradel, in Burger 295)
Fay describes her first soiree with Liszt. The new students were gathered
together sharing a meal when they were suddenly called upon to play.
Fay hoped to slip out because she had not had access to a piano for a
week but was followed by Liszt and asked, “Mademoiselle vous jouerez
quelque-chose, n'est-ce pas?” or “Mademoiselle you play something, no?”
Fay decided to play the A flat major Ballade of Chopin. Liszt called out
“Bravo” numerous times throughout the performance. When Fay accounts
other people playing for Liszt in Weimar he often called out accolades
such as this. Upon finishing he often gave minor corrections and
compliments. Rarely did he show his students how to play a piece. (Fay,
209) As Fay’s time went on with Liszt the classes increased in size from five
students to closer to a dozen and then to twenty students at a time.
With the class size increase the length of lessons increased.

Since TFG and his surrogates did everything up to and including allegations that Romney molested his own daughters, the only reason I would go to a meeting (were I him) would be to get close enough to punch that asshole's teeth down his throat before the SS could grab me.

I said it yesterday - Ann Barnhardt insisted before the election that Romney had been promised a cabinet or cabinet-level post if he threw the election. Shit like this only makes me think she's right on the ball.

Morning CBD.

In my clueless youth days, I was pro abortion for anyone, any time for any reason. As I grew older, and a little wiser (aka more conservative) I started to really think about it and then I added caveats like only within the the first trimester. Now I'm at the point of only in cases of rape, incest within a very limited time-frame (a few weeks) and life of the mother.

I remember standing in line for Levin's book signing last January and made conversation with a man who was an Akin pro-lifer and the way he phrased his position really made me ponder it; something that perhaps I would have never done. That's why I was reticent to throw Akin under the bus so readily.

In any case, I always take the position of being in favor of 24-month post natal abortion when arguing with libs. Gob-smacks them with their own hypocrisy when they disagree with me.

86 A federal appeals court today issued an order granting a motion for a preliminary injunction that temporarily blocks the implementation of the HHS mandate against a Missouri business owner.

The decision is the first occasion on which a pro-life plaintiff has secured a legal victory against the HHS mandate at the federal appeals court level. Most of the dozens of cases against the HHS mandate are still at the federal district court level.

The order, issued by a three-judge panel of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit, puts the HHS mandate on hold pending the outcome of the appeals process, prohibits the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) from requiring the business owner, who contends the mandate violates his constitutionally-protected religious beliefs, to comply with the mandate which requires employers to purchase health insurance for their employees that includes coverage for contraceptives, sterilization, and abortion-inducing drugs.

Here's what I think Romney should advise Obama and immediately hold a press conference stating his plan.

1 Sunset the the Bush tax rates on the wealthy, but define wealthy as $500k or even a million. This satisfies the BS "Everyone should pay their fair share" line the Dems have put at the forefront of their policy.

Next - leave in place tghe 8% across spending cuts.

The Dems get next to nothing on this deal. Those tax cuts on the wealthy added up to $80 Billion per year.. peanuts.

And we get 8% reduction spending in exchange.

145 Morning, all!

Regarding the sidebar story about infanticide in Britain, the only comfort I draw from that story is that the people responsible will be shocked and disbelieving when they find themselves roasting in Hell upon their deaths. They are evil, cruel, despicable individuals. This is not ancient Greece. We do not leave children on the side of a mountain to die of exposure, and we certainly don't allow them to DIE OF THIRST.

This quote is especially galling:

The doctor wrote: ‘They wish for their child to die quickly once the feeding and fluids are stopped. They wish for pneumonia. They wish for no suffering. They wish for no visible changes to their precious baby.

‘Their wishes, however, are not consistent with my experience. Survival is often much longer than most physicians think; reflecting on my previous patients, the median time from withdrawal of hydration to death was ten days.

Their "precious baby," eh? Tell me, parents and doctors -- have you ever seen a child suffering from starvation? Dehydration? Just look at some of those flyers from so-called "aid" organizations in Africa. Tell me now, do you think they were born looking like shrunken corpses with toast rack chests? Or do you think the lack of sustenance and fluids is what caused it? Then I ask you, how much more severe and quick do you think those changes will be in a newborn infant?

Ignorant, stupid, evil people. You know what? At least the Spartans abandoned their unwanted children to the elements, meaning that death was probably fairly quick. A wolf or bear wandering along that comes upon an unprotected human infant is going to have a good dinner. It's horrible but quick.THESE people simply stand around and watch these babies SUFFER. For WEEKS.

There are no words.

You're right about that.

Still, I doubt that being closer to the threat alleviates the threat in any way. It isn't as if Obama keeps promises, respects rule of law or honors contract law.

So, like a dog to his vomit. Just how low can compromising Mitt go. Need one ask? Politics. Even the threat provides cover.

Then full-court press conference outside the White House detailing TFG's blackmail attempt, ending - "so just keep an eye on my business ventures and those of my sons. __I know, that is what is especially frightening, that the medical personnel are witnessing this atrocity on a regular basis.

The naievete of the parents is somewhat understandable, that they trust the doc who says the baby will die a peaceful death. But then what happens, after verdict is rendered: do the parents just say goodbye to their child and think he'll be in the next world by tomorrow's sunrise? Don't they ask afterwards, "when did my son die?" If they are told, "oh it took ten days for little Aidan to expire", then don't they wonder if he suffered?

Young women are so trusting of doctors. I recall talking to a mom who told me she aborted her five month gestated baby on the advice of a doc who assured her the baby wouldn't feel pain. And yet it still must have haunted her because she asked me, "you don't think the procedure hurt the baby, do you?"

180 From DrudgeReport: "Tax Now, Cut Later"

... points to Politico story ...

Listen to top Democrats and Republicans talk on camera, and it sounds like they could not be further apart on a year-end tax-and-spending deal – a down payment on a $4 trillion grand bargain. But behind the scenes, top officials who have been involved in the talks for many months say the contours of a deal – including the size of tax hikes and spending cuts it will likely contain — are starting to take shape.
Cut through the fog, and here’s what to expect: Taxes will go up just shy of $1.2 trillion — the middle ground of what President Barack Obama wants and what Republicans say they could stomach. Entitlement programs, mainly Medicare, will be cut by no less than $400 billion - and perhaps a lot more, to get Republicans to swallow those tax hikes. There will be at least $1.2 trillion in spending cuts and “war savings.” And any final deal will come not by a group effort but in a private deal between two men: Obama and House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio). The two men had what one insider described as a short, curt conversation Wednesday night — but the private lines of communications remain very much open.

Considering that Democrats voted for the Affordable Care Act's $716 billion in cuts to Medicare, no less than $400 billion sounds like a blame shifting exercise.
Couple that to the note in the story:
(Also on POLITICO: Confident Obama sees path to fiscal cliff win)

... anybody can see that there is a Republican "butt-fucking" ahead.

"I'm sorry, son, but your continued existence is just too much of a threat to our fiscal and emotional health. So the money we would have used to pay your first year's tuition in college is going to go toward a year-long cruise around the world for your father and I. That will be much more enriching than spending that money on you, and will bolster our emotional, intellectual and spiritual health. Because let's face it, dear -- you were never the brightest bulb on the family tree. You'll doubtless wash out of college after spending two years high on marijuana and Jell-O shots, and then be lucky to find a steady job managing the local Denny's."

"But... I have dreams..."

191 Glenn Kessler's latest "fact checks" at the WaPo are howlers. They can't get their faces out of Obama's ass even after he is safely reelected.

So he fact-checks the Republican claim that the $80 billion that would be raised by the Obama tax-the-rich proposal would run the government for 8 days. After lengthy discussion which completely proves the math is correct, Kessler says "but that's not the point, the point is whether the additional revenue would help reduce the deficit." So he actually gives the GOP one Pinocchio!

Then he fact-checks the Democrats' claim that Obama has proposed health care cuts larger than those proposed by Simpson-Bowles. He provides three separate analyses showing that clearly this claim is false. But because Chris Van Hollen actually calls him personally to argue the math, he only gives two Pinocchios for this instead of three.

I really don't know how we are ever going to win when even the fact-checkers keep putting their thumbs on the scales.

**

The Secretary of Commerce already exists. IF Romney had credibility, he would not have promoted the newest and redundant addition to the Cabinet. Romney's opportunistic and incorrect response proves he's NOT such an efficiency expert, certainly not by growing the federal government.

Through Pres. Taft's administration, that Cabinet Office conjoined Commerce AND Labor. Of course, Wilson segregated the two. And now Obama would duplicate Commerce with Business. Romney is Obamalite.

201
-- Just finished the BBC miniseries, "Rome" and reflecting on the
first Caesar, how after conquering continents, the Republic perhaps
inevitably became Empire. [Perhaps such occurred as well in the USA after Manifest Destiny by the time of Eisenhower's warning.]

Whereas Caesar respected the meaning of words, Caesar "earned" his way up the ladder of leadership. There is no "comparison" except to illustrate the authentic against the inauthentic between Caesar and Obama, as Tyrant/Dictator and the dissolution of our Constitutional
Republic as such.

Caesar loved Rome, HIS Rome. Obama can not boast any characteristic parallel virtue with Caesar. Caesar did not make Rome the servant of the globe, never ordered his legions to conquer a territory on behalf of another nation/empire. Caesar never taxed Romans in order to provide "nation building" infrastructure and "democracy" for other nations/empires.

The conversion
from Republic into Empire was really Pompeius' fault, and ironically,
the subsequent fault of Caesar's assassins. After his murder, they spawning at least five civil
wars, leaving nothing of the Republic. Caesar was an extremely effective leader, balancing judgment for
Rome's benefit, himself included, of course. It was he, after all, who made all
provinces "Roman" so the inhabitants could enjoy citizenship and equality
as Romans, unlike previous denigration. 'If breaking the law, only for
power; otherwise obey.' So long as in Caesar's hand, his transformations
would have worked, and perhaps been temporary (as needs required) when,
for instance, he mandated the magistrates be his appointments rather
than the peoples' elected since he had to leave Rome to war while
governing.

The New International Encyclopedia: Cæsar, Gaius Julius
"Meanwhile, Pompeius, whose vanity could not endure the greatness of
Cæsar, had been gradually inclining again to the aristocracy, whose
dread of the new conqueror was hourly increasing. After much futile
diplomatic finesse on all sides, the Senate carried a motion “that Cæsar
should disband his army by a certain day; and that if he did not do so
he should be regarded as an enemy of the State.” The tribunes Marcus
Antonius and Q. Cassius put their veto on this motion; but they were
violently driven out of the Senate chamber, and, fearing for their
lives, they fled to Cæsar's camp. The Senate, in the madness of their
terror, now declared war, and intrusted the conduct of it to Pompeius,
whose pride in the invincibility of his military prowess hindered him
from taking the necessary measures for the defense of the State."

202 Every President wants to create at least one new department.
...

Perhaps that applies to the late-20th century Presidential penchant to increasingly name "Czars" since FDR, avoiding Congressional approval to boot.

But as to creating at least one new department, which requires Congressional approval via legislation, no one will top George W. Bush with the unconstitutional, unaffordable and completely incompetent DHS and Patriot Act. [Ex: Benghazi, just how effective is this "shared intelligence" top heavy Department--not.]

As to claiming MORE legislation (requiring more taxation not to mention more regulation) as reason to admire a politician, that's ass backwards.
