President this year, but had to settle for Romney. I dont think Rubio
will run in 2016, he'll be up for reelection in Florida and I dont think
he likes the idea of running on a ticket without a Senate seat to fall
back on.

Brother Mitt was getting his ducks in a row right after Megan's dad got beat like a red-headed stepchild. He was Establishment before you really heard from him, post-2008.

Already the MSM theme is that pali CIVILIANS have been killed by those evil jooooos. Collateral damage is only an excuse for Hamas, not for Bibi. If the Israelis were as ill-prepared and didn't give a damn about their citizens as Hamas does, the Gaza rocket barrages would have produced many many Israeli civilian casualties.

Martial law

Rationing

Forced evacuation to central "Relocation Centers" to more easily get the needed "services" to the populace.

Targetted assaults of all those suspected (or living near) any enclaves of "hoarders" or "Reactionary Armed Forces". the MSM will accompany the assaults as embeds to show the care and concern for our fellow citizens. (unless of course they resist)

Blackouts of news from certain areas of the country. Which just so happen to contain the relocation centers where most "reactionary citizens" were taken.

Massive riots in relocation centers force Government forces to surround and cordon off those areas. Lightning strikes or other unknown phenomenon have ignited massive firestorms throughout the relocation centers. (built of low cost but highly flammable recyclable materials) some fires may have been set by residents.

Death toll in riots exceeds 6 million. Government officials at a loss to explain how this happened. "we will investigate this tragedy and if those to blame are still alive and we can find them, we will prosecute them to the fullest extent of the law"

Relocation centers to be built with poured concrete and non flammable materials. " these domiciles will be built with the greatest attention to the prevention of further damage by confused or misled populations. Steel bars will be substituted for the doors so that outside observation can be facilitated. All windows will be shatter proof and no wood, cloth or paper will be allowed except in certain predesignated areas.

I'm depressed and shocked, too.

What I did instead of giving in to total negativity was to figure out what happened. I studied the exit polls and I reviewed Romney's campaign, and I determined why he failed and how the GOP can win.

I thought of a Travel Channel program I saw on the Great Depression, in which the host went to some town in Oklahoma where they make burgers that are 50 percent onion and fried.

They started eating those burgers because onions were the only food you could afford to buy in bulk in the Great Depression, so they put onions in everything to stretch it. And today that onion burger is a proud tradition in that little town, because it symbolizes adapting and overcoming.

Those Okies are my role model. I reject the blubbering cries of "Let it burn!" I hate them, in fact. They make me sick.

Actually, although that was the effect, that half of the country didn't/doesn't KNOW it chose collapse.

Frankly my greatest regret is seeing the MFM succeed.

Since we're thinking LIB, I say our first target should be the entertainment/infortainment industrial complex.

It will be difficult but the effects are already being felt in the conference rooms all over New York and Hollywood.

Stop. Giving. Them. Money.

They only use it to attacks us, to attack the country and to fool the ignorant.

They spend our money to dis and dismiss us.

Don't watch, don't pay, don't buy anything produced, sold, advertised by these people. And let them know why.

It can be part of your plan to cut your expenses in preparation for whatever comes. It will give you more money to spend on things you may need in the near future like water, food, ammo and guns.

We must make them pay. We can't stop paying the USGov but we can refuse to pay the Entertainment Industrial Complex.

179 NDH Can you give a rating for these?

'Love, Actually', a rom-com, is very well done. There are a lot of intertwining stories of love: Family love, romantic love, etc... and the complications and excitement of it. A couple of the stories fall a bit flat, but aren't awful, and a couple are really terrific. Colin Firth and Emma Thompson are, as always, outstanding. I give it 4/5 stars.

'The Lincoln Lawyer' was a big surprise for me when I first watched it a few months ago. I had never heard of it but it was on Netflix so I gave it a shot. I REALLY like it. At first, it seems like it might be a series of slick one-liners but soon becomes more intense. I give it 4/5 stars as well. It isn't a masterpiece but is damn entertaining.

'The Descendents' was... interesting, and dealt with complicated emotions. I liked it but, as with Million Dollar Baby, it's not something you really want to watch again. 3ish stars out of 5, mostly for the acting.

Dave's Old Porn is just that. It's comedienne Dave Artell sitting around with other comediennes and watching porn while cracking jokes about it. Think MST3K with porn. It's a Showtime series and it's kind of funny.

Nihilism is not belief in nothing.

It is just that there is no objective moralsor philisophical epistemologicalunderpinning to the beliefs held by nihilists. They are the ultimate amoral-relativists. They judge reality minute to minute.

So yes, a great majority of the people that voted for Obama are nihilists. There is no underpinning to what they believe except "More!".

There was a talking heads panel show on CSPAN that I surfed by on the TV a little while ago, consisting of Democrats patting each other on the back about why they "won" and why those imbecile Republicans "lost". Hacking into a lot of databases and getting personal information to manufacture customized e-mail messages is, I guess, the new "hotness".

My simplest opinion is this is all for the benefit of David Plouffe getting a nice network gig like Stephadopolous, "the forehead" Begala and Crapville the Cajun.

194 let it burn is only an acceptance of the fiscal reality of our sitution

we do not have the power to make it good. we tried and half the country chose collapse.

is this untrue?

Yes, it's untrue. Half the country did not choose collapse. They voted the way they did because they're uninformed. In fact--to sound like a broken record--the exit polling proves that the country overwhelmingly thought Romney would handle the economy better than Obama.

The problem was that they didn't trust Romney to do what he said he'd do. And that perception is entirely the fault of Romney for following the Rove playbook of never defending yourself.

Hubris brought Romney down. After the first debate, did you notice how he began appearing more presidential? It's because he thought he had it in the bag.

Ironically after the first debate Romney repeated the mistake Obama made in the first debate in that he made assumptions. He felt he no longer had to try as hard.

Romney lost by 370,000 votes in four swing states. If you take this to mean that half the country chose economic collapse, so let it burn, you're drawing the wrong conclusion and you've become part of the problem.

I intend to be part of the solution. Every day we're alive is an opportunity to affect change.

Hubris brought down Mitt Romney? How about a stupid electorate that can't find it's ass with both hands? How about people that have excercised no responsibility in their lives and probably never will?

Welfare, dependency, sloth, avarice, made-up bullshit to get disability. It goes on and on. I have to look no farther than my own family, either on my side or my wife's side. It's EVERYWHERE.

This didn't start yesterday, last week, or with Barack Obama. Obama is just the latest (and I hope last) political con-man who has been aided and abetted by the lying bastards in entertainment and the Massive Bullshit Media to make him look "cool" and "smart".

Romney only looked like he had a chance. When it came down to it, it was close enough for the Democrats cheating to make sure they won. It shouldn't have been close, but we have millions of fools for countrymen.

I'm an old White Man, and I am probably going to Hell.

I'm not quitting (yet), but I can't blame anybody who thinks that "letting it burn" is a viable strategy. I'm Eddie Willers. I can't quite bring myself to give it up. But this sure isn't even close to the country that I was born in. It's closer to a national crack house.

Right now, Obama and key have free reign to tell their supporters anything they want about the national debt, entitlements, and cost of healthcare since the media won't call them on it and no one will listen to us. The only way to get people to realize they're wrong on this is to leave them no excuses: Give them what they want and watch them be proved wrong.

Hence Rush's comparison of TFG to Santa. And he wasn't far off, IMO. We now have two generations of "Mister Rogers kids" who are psychologically stuck in the adolenscent stage. A lot of entertainment and education is designed to keep the populace in that state of mind by never exposing them to anything other than current events. Little history is taught, and you can forget about civics and how our government is designed to operate, and principles like freedom and personal responsibility.

It's a weird dichotomy: little kids are forced(by society and entertainment) to become adults in dress and attitude, but grownups are encouraged to never grow up.

235 Well guys, when the bad news hit me I was pretty shell shocked too. The combo of hate and despair was pretty strong stuff. But let's be realistic. The "collapse" will happen in slow motion. Look at Europe - they've been holding together amid Obama-like shitty public policyfor a couple decades. They're further down the road to doom than us, and it's not Mad Max there yet. We have time. Just don't have any kids. They're screwed unless you can prep them to be in the ruling class.

Make the most of what time we have left- that's my plan. Invest in the stuff that people will needno matter what. Get as much of your money out and/or hidden as you can so the looters can't easily steal it. And get realistic about the fact that while there is no other America, not everyplace is a horrid, murderous shit hole. For example, I got me a spoton the north coast of the Dominican Republic. People there don't hate Americans and spend most of their time just getting by and minding their own business. There's theft, butalmost no violence. There's an expat community to hang out with and speak english. No fancy shopping, and government services are pretty thin. But then, if you want a Galtish then that should not be an issue.Local government is inept and corrupt, but they stay bought once paid forand if you go-along-to-get-along things are fine. Taxes are minimal and widely evaded. Want to grow some food? Throw some seeds on the ground and wait. OK- yeah - gotta learn Spanish. B.F.D.

If you have any expat friends or family, talk to them.

If America's over, that sucks. But that also means your duty is done. Focus on being happy for yourself and looking after your own ass. Screw everybody who isn't a friend or a family member.

I took a hard look at trying to mooch the farm bill, but it takes land. Why won't they pay me not to farm, without even having land? Seems the logical conclusion. But nope, got to have actual land you don't work on to get paid.

have a problem understanding why I shouldn't file for every freaking

You are about to get the shock of your life, son. I'm just about financially destroyed myself, and last year I had a medical problem that took a lung. I assumed I qualified for everything.. and if by the standards I see out there, I do. So I filled out a form for food stamps.. and was told by a racist 'chip on her shoulder' hispanic woman that "Food stamps weren't meant for people like you".... no shit. I was pretty mild mannered before that phone call.. This is in CA, too, where they actually run ADS FOR FOODSTAMPS

249 Hubris brought down Mitt Romney? How about a stupid electorate that
can't find it's ass with both hands? How about people that have
excercised no responsibility in their lives and probably never will?

The numbers don't bear you out. Romney lost by 370,000 votes in four swing states. You can't draw a sweeping conclusion about our national character based on the last election. The stupid voters were the Republicans and Independents who stayed home or voted for Gary Johnson.

Obama lost voters in all his target demographics. His vaunted GOTV effort was a flop. He was reelected with fewer voters than voted for him in 2008.

Yes, hubris brought down Mitt Romney. He refused to defend himself and he refused to articulate why his approach was better than Obama's.

The proof is that he demolished the Democrats' most potent weapon with one press conference, when he brought out the whiteboard and did a side-by-side comparison of Medicare under his plan and under Obamacare. After that, Mediscaring as a strategy went away.

Romney assumed that his reputation as a turnaround artist would carry the day. He made the fatal mistake of buying his own mystique and not taking the time to explain himself in detail.

If we had seen Whiteboard Romney and First Debate Romney for the whole campaign, he would've won.

If the electorate is as stupid as you claim, why was Romney seven points ahead of Obama in the Gallup poll after the first debate?

I'm in the Let It Burn campbecause I'm optimistic. That's because the math tells me that it's going to burn in any case, so that is no longer a negative, it is now just the playing field. I'm optimistic because we can only rebuild after the failure of the welfare state to meet its' obligations.

266 I'm putting together an environmental learning center in a disused mill building on a pretty (and fairly clean) pond in the middle of a rusting industrial city.

The center's offices will take up about 10% of the useable space. The rest will be leased out.

Electricity will be generated by solar panels on the roof, and sold to the grid at a profit.

Water will be from the pond- no water bill, and I'm sure the pumps will be "green."

Additionally, I'm going to put in a boathouse so schools can come and canoe and go on swan boats.

Infrastructure improvement? Sure. We've planned a walking/biking/dog walking path around the pond to protect the frontage and forever lock it away from commercial development that we do not control with the nonprofit environmental learning center.

Furthermore, around election time, we can employ outreach contractors to serve as ground soldiers to elect conservative candidates.

It's so fucking perfect.

we will be green heroes and get rich. And over time, pry the environment as a political football away from the commies.

It's only one part of the plan, but it will be the one that pays us enough to put other plans in place.

274 Larry,
Thought I respect your point, and will do whatever I can to push the nation in the direction you suggest....I also see the point the "let it burn" crowd is making.

The entire media....is so full of hate and lies that they are completing destroying any chance of getting a (R) in the ova1 office any time soon, as long as they continue with the same attack mode and ridiculous bias.

Additionally, the GOP doesn't need to change its philosophy...they already tried going with moderates. What do they think McCain and Romney are....? They've already tried the moderation they suggest and were rejected.

We need a change at the top w/ the GOP the losers in charge are completely clueless (Rove others). This is the same mindset that tried to keep Reagan from getting the nomination.

We need to somehow get the mainstream media to stop bashing and destroying our candidates.

those w/ the power to stop or change these two negative attributes of todays environment for conservatives and libertarians should go forward and work those avenues. Meanwhile....the everyday conservative with no connections has little power and little hope....hence, Let it burn....its the only power we have...if you're in the position to oust or defeat Chris Christie, Meghan McCain...and others go for it.

Mega McCain is a perfect example of "let it burn" let it burn, meaning, let her leave the party. That can only help.

320 If I read correctly, two years later one US Dollar was worth 4 TRILLION marks, That's right, T-R-I-L-L-I-O-N. The price of goods and services doubled every 15 hours during that period in German history.
Posted by: Tobacco Road, now in a serious funk at November 18, 2012 08:31 PM (4Mv1T)

True, but that wasa totally different scenario. The Germans owed debt in gold, not marks. The buying of gold with paper led to an incredibly vicious inflationary cycle. Their productive capacity was greatly diminished after the war, which was another serious problem.
In the US, we have dollar denominated debts and the ability to manage it that is infinitely superior to what the Germans had. We also have massive under-utilization of our productive capacity. Weimar-like inflation isn't going to be our problem for a while.

374 Get a load of this. It's up at TEA Party Nation. I'm going to watch teh zombehs.

There are a number of words we can use to describe Republicans. However in the last few years, the word courage has not been associated with many Republicans. Courage is the one quality Republicans need right now to save themselves as a Party, to save America and potentially stop a second Obama term.

How can they do any of these things, including preventing the reelection of Barack Obama?

Conservatives are warning the GOP. It must show courage. It must stop being John Boehner’s Democrat-lite, party of surrender. Newt Gingrich warned Republicans about this in a recent article in Newsmax. Gingrich warned Republicans in Washington that they should not be going along with Barack Obama and agreeing to raise taxes. David Bossie of Citizens United made the same warning in an interview, also with Newsmax.

Both are right. Both are men the GOP should listen to.

The GOP should listen to them and millions of other conservatives. First, these conservatives are right on policy. Abandoning conservatism will be a disaster for this nation and for the Republican Party. If the GOP gives up on conservatism, conservatives are going to give up on the GOP.

If the Republicans abandon conservatism in favor of “moderate” politics, led by people like Mitt Romney who cannot even articulate a message, the GOP is doomed.

Republicans are going to have to show courage in the next few months, as they must do everything possible to stop the Obama agenda. The Obama propaganda media and the Regime will pillory them mercilessly.

Of course, there is another way out. It is still possible to block a second Obama term.

Most people believe Barack Obama was reelected on November 6th. That is not true. We had a national election on November 6th but people voted for the Electors for the Electoral College, not the President.

The Electoral College will meet on December 17th to officially select the President.

The Democrats pioneered a tactic that Republicans should use. In recent years, in Wisconsin and in Texas, Democrats who were in the minority in the state legislatures refused to participate in the process, thus denying the legislature a quorum needed.

The 12th Amendment specifics the quorum or the necessary number of states for the College to act, is 2/3. In other words, if 17 states refuse to participate, the Electoral College does not have a quorum. If the Electoral College cannot meet or decide who wins the Presidency, then that task devolves to the House of Representatives.

With Republicans in control of the House of Representatives, presumably they will vote for Mitt Romney. The Vice President would be selected by the Senate, so presumably Joe Biden will be reelected, although as goofy as he has been the last few months, there is no telling.

Is this a dangerous precedent?

Absolutely. Could it come back to haunt us later down the road?

Absolutely.

However, the situation is so grim we really have no other choice. Does anyone really believe America can survive four more years of Barack Obama? What will America look like in four years? Obama will be hell bent in the next four years to transform America from that shining city on a hill into a third world shantytown, with massive unemployment and a corrupt government.

How do we do this?

We need to contact the Republican Party in the states that Mitt Romney carried. We must get the electors in those states to refuse to participate in the Electoral College on December 17th.

I am under no illusions that Mitt Romney will be a great President. Based on the collapse of his campaign and his actions after the election, he will be pretty bad. However, he is not Barack Obama and that is the best thing that can be said about him.

The alternative of a second Obama term is simply unacceptable. This is our last, and only hope. Will Republicans show courage or will they be the Party of the White Flag of Surrender?

For America and for future generations, let’s hope the Republican Party can be courageous.

407 The problem with the Llarry's and the GOP politicians and also the 2016
hopefuls right now is that they persist in ignoring reality. How does
lying to yourself and to the people help anyone? Thinking if we just
tweek our message and get a candidate that appeals more to the
independent voter we're going to win and thus change things is
delusional and it just prolongs the change they claim to want.
So fuck the Llarry's out there, they ain't helping shit.

What the fuck does it mean to "prolong the change" I claim to want?

And I never said we need candidates that appeal more to the independent voter. I said we need candidates who articulate in detail why conservative policies are better than liberal.

Romney did once during the campaign, when he used his whiteboard to demolish the Democrats' Mediscaring strategy. That's the empirical proof that it can be done. All it took was one press conference. And after the first debate Romney was seven points ahead in the Gallup poll.

For some reason providing actual proof that our side can win makes you very angry at me.

That's pretty irrational on your part, wouldn't you say? Why does me telling you we can win piss you off?

414 After Obama was elected the GOP took the House in 2010 and put up candidates in 2011/2012.

The candidates were pretty damn bad. One, Perry, had the most potential, but was fucked-up by recent back surgery.

We ended up with Mitt Romney. Mitt was at best a moderate. He had plenty of good qualities for sure, but no shortage of faults also.

What happened?

He lost. He lost to a President who's support collapsed by 10%.

WTF?

The GOP had three years to beat a horrible President and it failed.

There is absolutely no way to change the GOP in time for 2016. Losing is in their DNA now. It is their destiny.

And even if we get a Conservative House, Senate, and White House in 2017, we still can't stop the collapse. It is too late.

Collapse, then chaos, then recovery is our fate.

It probably has actually been inevitable for some time. I don't blame those who hoped and fought.

I don't wish for it. I wish for it to be the least bad it can be for those who are the most innocent. But continuing to deny the obvious will do the innocent no good.

Hoping that some savior will come along and rescue us is what makes us choose the worst option: doing nothing. We need to realize, or at lest recognize the very real probability that, no one is coming to save us. Only then will we do what needs to be done: act.

Doing something is better than doing nothing.

In a collapse, the old, sick and weak would die, no question about it. And I'm worried that Let It Burn plays into the Cloward-Piven peoples' hands.

But as I understand it, Let It Burn recognizes that a collapse is coming whether we want it or not. It's better that it happen sooner than later. The longer we put off the reckoning, the worse it will be.

Ask him what the mechanism for that is. What does he think will happen? It's not like the Chinese and other creditors can "repossess" our stuff. A lot of "well educated" people still think we're operating on a gold standard. The modern money system is greatly misunderstood. To remedy that, I suggest the book "Understanding Modern Money" to anyone who might listen. MMT is the reality. Anything making our system seem like a gold-backed system is wrong.
I'm not going to saybad inflationCAN'T happen, but right now there are serious deflationary forces at work, and the deficit spending isn't really doing much to increase actual consumption above what it was pre-recession. The gas boom is slowing helping to drag down energy costs. Food remains an issue due to the draught, unfortunately.

be done. All it took was one press conference. And after the first
debate Romney was seven points ahead in the Gallup poll.

Yes....Romney kicked ass, twice during the campaign...and would have easily won had it done that day in and day out. He was actually acting Reaganesque those couple times, which is why he kicked ass at that point in the race....

Romney was our last hope, even then, he would have needed the Senate to really be able to fix things. it's kind of like star wars, alternate ending where Vader tosses Luke into the abyss, and the Emporer and Vader go off to completely oppress the galaxy. (hopefully I'm wrong and O blama is the moderate my liberal friends tell me his is when I tell them he's a card carrying commie)

So...now the only hope, that i can see, is to let the Democrats screw shit up so bad, that people reject them And there is no money left for free shit so the free shit crowd says, "hey you promised free shit, you lied" and stops voting. And the MSM falls apart.

I don't want to see the country literally go into a armeggedon scenario...(perhaps others do) i just want the socialist policies to cause shit to go to hell so quick that in 2016, we have a chance....otherwise it just gets even uglier if we continue electing moderate Rep. and Communist Dems.

Posted by: Mindy at November 18, 2012 09:30 PM (6jLT3)

484 So, Llary, what do you propose? That we keep cheerfully slaving for people who hate us?

I'll keep saying this as many times as is necessary, because for some reason it's bouncing off peoples' skulls:

Romney proved--twice--during the campaign that articulating conservative principles are superior to liberal principles as they apply to individual Americans. He did it with his Medicare press conference and he did it in the first debate.

The American electorate responded positively both times. If we'd had Whiteboard Romney and First Debate Romney for the whole campaign, we would've won handily.

I'm advocating running only Whiteboard Romney and First Debate Romney from now on, because with them, we will win.

That's what I'm advocating. That's all. Nothing more, nothing less. Not a complicated, controversial, or hateful premise, but for some reason it's falling on deaf ears here. Or worse, it's making people insane with rage.

Wonder why? Some of you claim that losing is now in the GOP's DNA.

Well, it's apparently in your DNA, too, because why else would you react with such irrational, inexplicable anger to the idea that our side can win by simply duplicating what Romney did twice in the last campaign?

490 Obama won because he encouraged:
1. Fear 2. Greed 3 The Herd. He had people who figured out exactly what message would bring out those reactions in the groups he was targeting. When we were laughing at the stupidity of his approaches to women, minorities, and college students we were wrong. College students are stupidly influenced by celebrity, peer pressure, by pledges, and by talk of free stuff. Minorities will vote for someone based solely on skin color. And free stuff. Women, whom we believed were too intelligent to fall for the stupid fear tactics aimed at them, proved to indeed be as stupid as the Obama campaign believed. Unfortunately, we need to come down to their level in the next election or we will lose again. The conservative message has to be framed to appeal to the As Seen on TV crowd.

Also a message to men. Progressives, to succeed needed to destroy the family. They needed to destroy the idea of men as heads of household and they needed men to buy into that idea. A woman with kids on her own is a democrat pure and simple. So, you need to decide if you are going to let progressives destroy your family or if family is something worth fighting for. When your wife and kids are the next town over, but you are free to watch the game on a Saturday night- the progressives have won. Women, with husbands by their sides, being fathers to their children- they are much less likely to look to Barry to be their security.

And I find that hopeful. I means that all is not lost, because the electorate--the same electorate that eventually voted to keep Obama--responded positively to Romney's ass-kickery.

One of the reasons Romney lost was precisely because he didn't keep himself in ass-kicking mode. The public didn't know who the real Romney was. He was inconsistent in his presentation to the country, and the country just barely rejected him.

But he erased the likeability gap. That means Republicans can still win. A corny Mormon time-traveler from the 1950s was as likeable as the hipster First Black President!

If he had been Whiteboard Romney and First Debate Romney all the way through, and if he'd told Karl the Walking Double-chin Rove to go pound sand up his ass, he would've won.

Become a rallying point. Fly the flag, teach the declaration and the constitution. Demonstrate self-reliance, and above all, keep your powder dry.

That's just fucking retarded.

Give us the real reason, then, that the Democrats stopped using their Mediscaring strategy.

As for your "point" about the second debate, I don't even understand what you said. It makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. Romney performed well in the first the debate, and as a result he went up in the polls, and you think I'm "fucking retarded" for thinking that means the electorate responds positively to conservatism when its articulated well.

I read a lot of "Let.It.Burn" comments. I think this is the wrong approach.

Smaller economies might be susceptible to a sudden crash, even over, say 1 or 2 years. Greece looks like a good example: stop lending them money, and watch the place burn. But they've consumed most of their "fat" over the last 10-40 years, and their currency hasn't been "real money" for at least as long.

We are different. We aren't too big to fail, but our collapse will be much slower; maybe 10 years, then things get real ugly. And until then, out currency will still be seen as "real money", whether it should be or not.

So, there's still time to save ourselves; we just have to do it. It looks like we will have another 2 years of National Typhoid before we have a chance to break the fever.

I prefer resisting, enduring, maybe even fighting back.

More than a few Democrats are starting to realize that the Democrat Party is really run by Socialists and Marxists, and that things are about to get real ugly ... clearly not Bush's fault; it never was.

How many of them like giving their wealth to the FSA? As time passes, and more people realize what's happening ...

It's time to press Boehner and the R's to resist BO's uncontrolled spending, and do so PUBLICLY.

Issue press releases. Speak the truth on TV. Play dirty ... maybe not as dirty as the D's, but at least point to where the stink comes from.

Snively Harry Reid has pontificated that SS and Medicare are not on the table for discussion ... ignore him, start discussing cuts and reforms PUBLICLY, make the case that they are needed (the alternative is economic collapse and more unemployment, etc.), and force him to defend himself. Get this all over the news.

Force Benghazi to be National News Lead Story and Page 1. Make Fast and Furious reappear.

Politics simply isn't a gentlemen's activity. Act accordingly.

He'll be trumpeting his Grahamnesty plan for illegals loudly soon enough.

oooh ersatz. Big words now and being serious. Like you're all CONCERNED.

It's the old rule of the barnyard. One chicken starts pecking another and soon they're all pecking away. No reason other than that's what they do. It's a protective adaptation.

In this case protect the mirage that those here have erected around they're daily lives whilst protesting the slings and arrows outside their control.

If someone, anyone pierces that mirage with so much as fragment of fact or truth that offends their sensibilities or threatens the sustainability of the mirage, that someone is immediately attacked as being "the other". The names are myriad but the point is to label them as "other than us". It's a defensive adaptation to real threats from the outside but can sometimes result in a member of the group being labeled such and the piling on (or pecking if you will) begins.

First it's labels then it's juvenile name calling then if the individual fights back he's called "angry or pathological" or some such "serious" label to further isolate the target individual for future shunning or attacks. Thus rendering any thing further they may have to say as unable to pass the collective filter.

Truth and facts are a threat to those who compose their lives around lies and illusion.

More?

But our work isn't over. We didn't do all this just to win a campaign. We have more progress to make, and there's only one way to do it: together.

613 sven I think you're exactly right about the AR scare factor. And of course anything is better than empty hands when they should have a rifle in 'em. But the scout rifle concept doesn't make great sense to me- and that could very well be my shortcoming. I endorse your feelings on small businesses too it's so damn hard to disagree with or have a conversation around here anymore without people flying off the handle. I'm just as nervous about buying a new mechanism as i would be buying a piston upper- I'd rather have someone else do the beta testing.

I live in the center of a battleground state (Ohio)
I saw non-stop negative commercials from Obama and his aligned PACS.
Constantly on
1) Bain Capital and Romney are evil, stole jobs and profited off other people's misery
2) Romney and Ryan wanted to destroy Medicare and give you vouchers.
3) Freedom of choice, kids. Line up for your abortions and birth control now

So nowhere in this dreamworld was the Medicare scare ever defanged in the campaign adds. Sure, Romney made some serious tactical mistakes
1) thinking that he could win Pennsylvania. That was dumb.
2) allowing Obama to go negative on him early and often without refuting him
3) not going negative on Obama nearly enough, ESPECIALLY on foreign policy. Romney was getting briefings (I suppose) and was too deferential to what they told him Obama was doing. Screwing up is what Obama has been doing

If it was not clear enough to the majority of the electorate that the economy is in the dumper, how much clearer do you have to make it? We were beaten by the Idiocracy - adults with the minds of children. President Kardashian.

Romney is of course guilty of acting "presidential". I went to a Romney rally and stood 20 feet away from him, and a lady I walked out with remarked how "presidential" he looked. That was a good thing, I thought.
He wanted to be able to govern after the election, like a normal American would. Obama wants to pout and dictate to us, because he does not possess any normal notion of American sensibilities. He's too cool for that - ask my 15 year old son who thinks he's great. My 18 year old son wised up and voted for Romney - his first time voting.

644 I love America - specifically that document that

that, well, lots of people have lots of ideas about what "America" is.
For some, sadly, "America" is that place where Free Shit comes from. Or
the place where everyone is going to be "equal", dammit, even if we have
to beat them into "equality". I do not love that America. An America
run by a poseur and a mob.

Just to be clear -- I love that America too. I just think this last election proved she doesn't exist anymore.

And FTR -- I do think there was multi-state fraud that got the SCoaMF over the top -- but the fact that there was enough people out there to keep it within the margin of fraud is bullshit to begin with.

And if anyone hasn't noticed we no longer have a free fair press anymore but a propaganda machine for Obama. I'm not talking "lefty media bias" -- I'm talking Pravada here -- they covered up the murder of Brian Terry in Fast Furious and our ambassador and 3 others in Benghazi and my even mentioning those deaths makes *me* part of the lunatic fringe, right wing "Freak Show" (actual term used by Mark Halperin today for those who want answers on Benghazi). FUCK THAT SHIT.

I'm going Galt -- want to give away free birth control to 30 year old graduates of Georgetown Law? You're going to have to do it without my tax money. I've already started winding up the affairs in my office, laying off all my employees after the holidays (only 3, true -- it's a small practice). I'll still work (with my newly retired dad answering the phones), but I'm getting myself to the minimum I need (and if I'm lucky I can get it to where I have *no* tax liability but at worse I will be significantly reducing my tax liability). If the country every comes to it's senses and wants the old America back, I'll be happy to help with the restoration -- in the meantime, LIB.

No matter what, they will manufacture the votes to win the state, just like Chicago, Detroit, and now apparently in Cleveland (the East Side, all AA).

This is what we face; if it's even close, they will cheat. It might have been "closing" in Pennsylvania, but it would never close. The cheating prevents that.

646 So nowhere in this dreamworld was the Medicare scare ever defanged in the campaign adds.

It was supposed to be the centerpiece of their campaign. It wasn't, and the exit polling showed that it wasn't a factor.

The exit polling showed that people were most concerned about jobs and the economy; they blamed Bush more than Obama for the economy; they were worried about women's rights; and they thought Obama cared more about them than Romney. They thought Romney would bring back Bush's policy's, so they chose--narrowly--to stick with Obama.

Mediscaring was a flop because people accepted that Romney and Ryan wouldn't destroy Medicare.

Romney failed to address the other attacks on him because he thought he had it in the bag. Even now, he's telling donors that he lost because Obama offered "gifts" to select groups.

That shows that Team Romney didn't understand how he came across. If they still don't know the real reason he lost, it's an admission that they used a flawed strategy. Obama's "gifts" have nothing to do with the large number of Republicans and independents who stayed home or voted for Johnson.

The country rejected Romney, not conservatism. And the country just barely rejected Romney. Despite the unprecedented negativity of the ads and the open support of the media, he still nearly won.

That tells you that with a different candidate using a different strategy, victory is still not only possible but probable.

Move the goalposts all you want, Ragey. Do battle with a million straw men. You were still W-R-O-N-G. You didn't even know that Romney had spiked in the Gallup poll by seven points.

Why? Because you're a cretin. You're one of the uninformed voters. You'd rather spew your childish, petulant rage than take five seconds to inform yourself.

But I'm "fucking retarded." Amazing.

I'd explain to you that events like debates take a few days to register in the polls, but that would be like trying to explain it to a gopher. You're not much of a thinker, so that's why you're marinating in your stew of booze, self-pity. and melodrama.

Fuck off. You're boring and generic.
