I have no more ill will toward Notre Dame than any other school, but I personally think that Brian Kelly is a bit of a shitheel.

He built up the UC program to be something great, then bailed on them right before their biggest game in their history (against Tebow and Florida, in which they got creamed), for the big buckes from Notre Dame.

Couldn't he have put them off for a few more weeks? Couldn't Notre Dame have shown a little class and not raided another team's coach to make up for the yawning chasm in their own football program before the end of the football season?

I sincerely DOUBT that USC will "kill" Notre Dame.

Notre Dame is fired up now, and while USC could win, it won't be some blowout by USC. USC just ain't that good, plus their senior QB might have gotten too hurt to play next week last night against UCLA.

44 I see the AP only moved Oregon down to 4 (behind ND, Bama, Georgia & ineligible Ohio State). I give the media credit; whenever they want a particular team to win they will do everything they can to make it happen.

This is obviously a transparent attempt to ensure it will not be SEC vs. SEC should ND lose to USC. It would serve them right if Georgia nipped Bama in the SEC championship game and it happened anyway.

Notre Dame is fine if you swing that way, but like Ohio State and (especially) Florida State, they play a Hostess schedule and would not be undefeated in the SEC.

Proof he is lying. The man is simply pathological. He know more believes in our God than I believe in black liberation theology.

Obama wants to go over the cliff so that he can blame the GOP, and then force us to accept tax cuts for those under $250K so that we're right back where we would have been had we accepted the increase on the top 2% or whatever dishonest formulation they're using these days.

We should accept the increase for those over $250K now (it would affect me so bite me) and issue strongly worded, orchestrated criticisms about what it will do to the economy, and then demand the 3:1 spending cuts liar boy was going on about during the election debates.

78 I graduated in 1993. ND was a different school then. I was appalled and disgusted by Jenkins inviting the SCOAMT to ND (and I view that as part of what gave the tyrant the belief that the church would roll over when he forced them to buy birth control and abortifacients for their employees). I still love the football, can't help it, and I have happy memories of my time there.

I need to just give it a go. Provo River is very nearby and is supposed to be a great spot.

I wanted to take up skeet shooting, but looking at shotgun prices, I'm not sure we can afford it. Fly fishing might be cheaper in the long run. Also, tasty tasty trout.

146 >>May I suggest a versatile Mossberg 12 ga., at $389?

Thanks for that recommendation, DiT. When I was reading up I was getting discouraged b/c it seemed like we'd be looking at $1000+.

I have been skeet shooting once, long ago when we lived in Houston (a friend took us), and I really enjoyed it, but we don't have any firearms at all and no experience. I found a husband-wife team who are instructors so I was thinking it was something husband and I could do together.

Is the "fit" thing crucial? He's 6' and I'm 5' 2" -- would we need different weapons?

Posted by: Y-not at November 18, 2012 03:50 PM (5H6zj)

147 You can find a used Remington Wingmaster in 20 ga. (usually withmultiple barrels)for under $450 in almost every gun shop in america.

Unless you are big and strong (5'2" makes that unlikely) you will probably find that a shotgun that fits your husband will not fit you.

Will that instructor team loan you shotguns until you decide whether you like the sport?

Posted by: CharlieBrown'sDildo at November 18, 2012 03:54 PM (GsoHv)

150 I can't remember the last time the Cowboys won a game easily, even against the shittiest of teams they always struggle to the very end. And the Browns just got first and goal, the Cowboys are just pathetic.

151 >>Will that instructor team loan you shotguns until you decide whether you like the sport?

I don't know. I hope so. I think I'll call them next week. Could be a fun Christmas present.

It would be good to have a shotgun for home defense, but I want to be competent with it and seems like skeet would be a good way to do that while having fun.

Skeet is a fantastic sport. And if you decide to do it you can reload your shells, which will save you lots of money.

One advantage of getting something like that Mossberg or a Remington 1100 is that you can swap out the barrels for a self-defense setup instead of buying an additional shotgun specifically for defense.
