Female House Representatives: Women Are Equal But If You Criticize Them For Either Lying Or Being Used To Peddle A Lie You're Sexist

Some women apparently have the option of being Strong Capable Women or Weepy Defenseless Little Girls as convenience suits them.

Republican senators' angry criticism of U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice over her initial account of the deadly Sept. 11 attack in Libya smacks of sexism and racism, a dozen female members of the House said Friday.

In unusually personal terms, the Democratic women lashed out at Sens. John McCain and Lindsey Graham who earlier this week called Rice unqualified and untrustworthy and promised to scuttle her nomination if President Barack Obama nominates her to succeed Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton.

...

In a separate appearance after a briefing on Libya, Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., the chairwoman of the Senate Intelligence Committee, said the growing criticism of Rice "is almost as if the attempt is to assassinate her character."

...

"It is a shame that anytime something goes wrong, they pick on women and minorities," Fudge said.

Ohhh, Fudge.

Kirsten Powers is offended by Obama's creation of a new Damsel in Distress meme.

Don't pick on the little lady.

Wednesday, President Obama bizarrely cast the U.N. Ambassador to the United Nations, Susan Rice, as some delicate flower the boys should stop picking on for her dissembling claims on five Sunday talk shows following the killing of 4 Americans in Benghazi. But, there is no damsel in distress and Obama's paternalistic bravado in defense of a top administration official is going to come back to haunt him.

"If Sen. McCain and Sen. Graham and others want to go after somebody, they should go after me," Obama intoned to the stenographers worshipping at his feet.

...

The conceit of Obama's argument is that people are picking on a helpless girl -- a lowly U.N. ambassador -- because they are afraid of the big bad president.

Oh, please.

President Obama, incredibly, claimed that he was "happy to have the discussion" about Benghazi.

Really?

Because every time anyone asks the president about Benghazi he claims he can't say anything because there is an investigation going on. The State Department actually said at one point that they would no longer take questions on the issue from reporters.

Senator Graham's response to the president's revelations and accusations at the press conference was exactly right: He said, "Mr. President, don't think for one minute I don't hold you ultimately responsible for Benghazi."

The president says he is ready to talk about this? Great. We are all ears.

37 This has always been the case.
Remember, women can do anything a man can and should be allowed to fight in combat units. But they also need easier physical fitness standards and can't handle the roughhousing and mental testing that go on in those same units.
Women should be afforded the same opportunities for advancement as men in the corporate world, up until they decide to have kids at 35. Then they should be allowed to take nine months off and after they return they get toleave work every day at 5pm to pick up the kids from day care.
Women should be allowed to "express" their sexuality by sleeping around, acting crude, dressing provocatively and flirting shamelessly. But the minute a guy that they're not interested in tries to make a pass, or if some jock gets a little too frisky, or if they get rip roaring drunk at a party and sleep with someone that they regret, we as a society should form a lynch mob against the unfortunate young man and leap to protect and heal her fragile psyche.

Bleh.

I have no doubt a lot of male politicians criticized her. I'm positive Reagan never defended her by saying something stupid like Obama did--"You want to go after her, come after me" (or whatever b.s. statement he made). Nor would it have ever occurred to anyone to play the "criticism is sexist" card back then. And it was 25-30 years ago. What the hell changed? Conservative women:

Liberal women:

1. They can do anything they damn well please to win--lie, steal, cheat, or whatever.
2. Their friends and families are off limits.
3. Depending on which meme they need, they are either fragile flowers to be protected from vile canards at any cost OR they are stong, powerful, and confident women--hear them roar in numbers to big to ignore.
4. If this makes your head hurt, just boil it down to Liberal Women Rule, all other women drool.

94 It's almost comical. In the immediate aftermath of the attack Obama hid in the folds of Rice's skirt as she went out and peddled the lie. Now that the public knows it was a lie his line is, "You gotta problem with her, then you gotta problem with me." Bottom line is that I think the public has a problem anytime the administration is openly lying. Thishas nothing to do with race or gender and everything to do with being honest. She may not have known at the time that she was being told to parrot a story that was demonstrably false. But in the old days, if you got put out there like that and you had a shred of integrity, you submitted a two line letter of resignation and walked away immediately. When you stay, as Ambassador Rice has, it is safe to assume that you think what has happened is acceptable. So you should be ready to face some heavy criticism.

I've gotten my feelings terribly hurt at work and I've been made to feel inadequate and I've been told I cannot do things just because I have ladyparts. You know what I did? Bucked up, hit back just as hard and then locked myself in my office to cry. Because no. No, I will not be told that I am too weak to protect myself and no, I will not be told that some man must take care of me because I am too stupid, too passive, too incapable to stand up for myself.

I am beyond tired of being told that being a victim is the only way to be a feminist. That is all this is, victimology, pure and simple. My vagina does not make me an idiot. My tits do not make me weak. It is quite literally beyond my comprehension why any woman would want to depend on some man to hand her her success. Guess what, sweetie? I've mentioned it before, but the regressive Left really has an ISSUE with metaphor. I'm surprised they haven't just decided to ban all forms of linguistic embroidery as inherently racist, misogynist, homophobic, blah, blah, blah.

If I'm not accused of racism (or being anti-woman, anti-gay, anti-fluffy animal, etc) at LEAST once a day in one way or another, I always make it a point to go back over the events of the day to figure out where I went wrong. And you know what? I haven't had to do that in at least five years.

3rd season of The Simpsons: Homer asks Bart what he learned today at karate school. Bart lies and says, "The Touch of Death" and then offers to demonstrate it on Lisa.

Bart holds out his fist and makes menacing gestures and starts to hum. Lisa is scared and runs away.

Later in the episode they're in the car and Lisa is annoying Bart. Bart gives her the Touch of Death threat and Lisa cries, "Quit it! Quit it! Quit it!"

as simplistic as this and all I have is 30 kids out there. And the sad
thing about it, Channel 8 and Dallas Morning News, they're partners."

A reporter asks him a question and he's a killer. It's beyond parody. Everything is due to racism or sexism

168 I'm not the one you want Susan
I'm not the one you need
You say you're looking for someone
Who's never weak but always strong
To protect you and defend you
Whether you are right or wrong
Someone to open each and every door

But it ain't me me Susan
No no no it ain't me Susan
It ain't me you're looking for Susan

170 There really is only one thing you can say to these liberal women.

"If you can't stand the heat, get back in the kitchen."

171 Why, I distinctly remember these same ladies defending me to the eyeballs over charges, many made by evil white Senators like Dick Durbin and Chuck Schumer, that I had lied to the eyeballs over WMDs in Iraq.

Oh wait...

175 Trumpka sounds like the palestinians and other arabs blaming Israel for defending themselves. He says Hostess should just bite the bullet and keep gong in the red to support greedy union workers. Another example of trying to change history and turning common sense on it's ear.

176 I seem to recall a few instances when the media and dims "picked" on conservative women ceaselessly. And those conservative women didn't go before the American people and lie their heads off. They were "picked" on because...well, they were conservative. Sarah Palin and Michelle Bachmann comes to mind along with many others. Expect no sympathy from me. Politics is a blood sport and If you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen.

187 Here's an interesting story about the Bumbler's choice for S.O.S. Seems that she's not so hot afterall.

Can't find the way to post a link, yet, without being "annoying" and the linky thing didn't work, either.

189 Yes. let's criticize and question everyone on Benghazi.

Except the girls.

But let's make sure they are part of the "boys club".

190 I guess it is OK to lie to ther American people for electoral gain, as long as you have a vagina. Oh, and if anyone calls you on your lies, they are being sexist. Trust feminism to distort equality into privilege and honesty into sexism. Feminism is discrimination and hatte, and nothing more.

Marcia Fudge? Really? That's almost too good.
Seriously, the Senate GOP needs to work at getting Kelly Ayotte out front with this and not McCain.
