Vic, I know that, but most people don't. I'm guessing all the morons know it. Unfortunately a large portion of America view it as their retirement plan.

I don't blame all of them. The government takes 12.4% from your wages every check. That's a lot of money that could have otherwise been invested in a real retirement program.

I know it is 6.2% employer and 6.2% employee, but you have to realize that your employer pays you 6.2% less than he normally would to cover his share your SS tax.

La Rue Tactical
Lewis Machine Tool

Noveske

I've been doing a lot of digging last night and I'm finding out about all sorts of stuff. For example, the HK MR556 does not have a chromed barrel. HK says it deliberately did not do that because "chrome may hide imperfections in the barrel". Is this bullshit or for real? A lot of comments on gun blogs rake HK over the coals for tarding-up the MR556 for the civilian market and the anti-chrome was a deal breaker for them, aside from the price. Finding out about the MR556's barrel now has me leaning back toward the SCAR-L but I am still open to others.

I'm also still leaning toward piston instead of gas unless someone has a really compelling reason that gas = one ring to rule them all.

What say you morons?

30 Christie is finished.

He's making intimations that NJ property taxes are going to be going up due to the storm.

He has to make a decision on the ObamaCare exchanges by Friday, he probably will agree to set them up.

And the photo op will forever hang over his head.

Having said that, he's about the best you can hope for in NJ so hopefully he can remain Gov and it puts his national ambitions to rest, because there is conservative alternative to Christie in NJ.

I was saying earlier that the MA GOP has the same "moderation" problem that the national GOP has, only much more so. And the people at the top are equally feckless and unteachable. Now they are saying the conservatives pulled mitt too far to the right and that's why we lost.

59 NBC- Doesn't it make more sense to take a page from the liberal play book and boycott their sponsors? Quitting watching the network if any Conservatives do watch them.. how badly would that hurt them? If Nelson got wind of it they would probably dummy up the loss anyway to protect them.

Now an organization representing a few million conservatives sick of the bias of all news networks could hit them where it hurts. Influencing the sponsors, taking away their revenue streams seems more effective.

I think 'we' need to be much more aggressive to turn the tide.

My guess is the state has -- at best -- a half-dozen or so "real" conservatives who are so hard-up for candidates that they borrow worn-out hacks and rejects from the Democrats.

Can you name another state where a weasel like Scott Brown would be a "Republican?" And our local "Republican" House candidate was a ghey activist who supports virtually everything the libs want, but was called a "Tea Party activist" and lost to a crooked do-nothing Democrat.

124 WASHINGTON (AP) -- Superstorm Sandy drove the number of people

seeking unemployment benefits up to a seasonally adjusted 439,000 last

week, the highest level in 18 months.

The Labor Department said Thursday that weekly
applications increased by 78,000 mostly because a large number of
applications were filed in states damaged by the storm. People can claim
unemployment benefits if their workplaces close and they don't get
paid.

It has nothing to do with all of the layoffs due to Obozocare. Nope, one storm that affect a small part of the country THAT caused people to lose their jobs and unemployment to hit an 18 month high

139 59 I think 'we' need to be much more aggressive to turn the tide.
Posted by: M1911 at November 15, 2012 09:38 AM (j/KPN)

The fundamental problem as I see it is that conservatism and Americanism have been successfully portrayed as evil, greedy, racist, white, and responsible for all the pain, misery and suffering here and abroad.

Jackson, Sharpton and company are portrayed as fighting the good fight against the aforementioned. Any time someone speaks out against this, he is quickly isolated, demonized and as a last resort threatened. Alinsky anyone?

I think it is time we turn the tables do exactly what they do. Not just once or twice a year at a rally or in civil protest of an unjust law, but we need an organized infrastructure like Rainbow/PUSH that will push back.

The MFM, Hollywood and the schools are against us as it is and nothing we will do or say will be met with respect, let alone approval. We will be demonized no matter what. So it is long overdue that we do the same things they do. I am NOT advocating physical or violent confrontation. But I am advocating LOUDLY and REPEATEDLY getting our message out and being a constant presence to let businesses know what it means to lose our dollars, and to get the broader message out of what we value.

Let the MFM continue to lie. I still think that there is strength in numbers. Electorate and illegals aside, we outnumber the left by a considerable margin.

We have to get organized and work our way around the MFM/cultural/educational/government complex and start to take back the country.

I think I rambled but hopefully the idea is in there.

No new glasses (the ones I have now are 10 years old)...

Backwardboy, I joined a clinic that charges $20/month for membership, then $15 per doc visit. They also have really cheap rates on bloodwork like $15 for a lipid panel and such.

I insist on $4 Walmart specials for any drugs they prescribe where possible. Also, a Walmart eye exam will only run you around $60 and single vision lenses can be had for under $100.

150 What's funny to me about the supposed hard line GOP is that everyone knows they will raise taxes. Even Obama knows. He just wants a kabuki theatre so when our credit ratin gets downgraded again and the economy tanks his fcking asshole cult followers can continue to blame republicans.

He knows increasing taxes will fuck the economy, he knows spending will fuck our credit rating. He just doesn't want the consequences politically. And boner will oblige. Give him what he wants and let it burn. The American people voted for this, give them what they want good and hard.

Seriously guys think about it, if Obama really wanted to cut a deal with republicans in the house would he have doubled his tax increases? Would he have shot down Boners offer of 800 billion last time? This fuck does not want to own his own policies, and he is not doing it because he's incompetent.

Northerners moving South bring their attitudes with them.

We see this mainly in Florida but Georgia, N. Carolina, S Carolina are trending blue.

Over time they flip former Red states first to purple then to light blue then to full on blue.

We wish we were exaggerating.
Under the draft rules, ordinary
homeowners may face six years in prison and fines of $100,000 a day if
they are deemed serial offenders of such new crimes as allowing
sprinklers to hit the pavement, washing a car in the driveway, or,
conceivably, failing to pick up dog poop promptly from their own
backyards, let alone the sidewalk.
Cities throughout San Diego,
south Orange and southwest Riverside counties must enforce the law, and
set up 24-hour hot lines for people to report violations by their

222 because decreasing taxes spurs investment, which kick-starts growth,
which creates new tax revenue...but it's counter-intuitive to the "one
size of pie" crowd.

Yeah, that's the point. But all of that can be summed up in "lowering rates increases revenue." Say it every time the subject comes up. Eventually it will get through.

The great thing is, even if someone attempts to rebut it, you have three handy examples that pretty well everyone knows-

George W Bush lowered Tax Rates, Revenues climbed.
Ronald Reagan lowered Tax Rates, Revenues climbed.
John F Kennedy lowered Tax Rates, Revenues climbed.
QED

Democrats hate that last one, because JFK is their patron saint.

I don't have to explain why it works. I just have to show that it does.

Just like no one can or should be able to live on minimum wage. It was intended as entry-level, low-skilled labor, or supplemental income. If you wanted to make a living off of min wage, you took more than one job and worked long hours. Now, thetakers think it should be a "living wage". (Of course, none of these assholes have ever experienced the "joy" of employing low-skilled, entry-level labor).

Not only do I expect this living wage nonsense to get louder, butwe'll hear more calls to increase the payout on SS.

Ironically, the minimum wage, like taxes has been proven to destroy opportunity.

Companies would rather saddle lower level people already in their employ with the drudgery jobs that unskilled/inexperienced kids would have done. That was the latter's ticket into the company. As they showed their energy and drive they would gradually rise to positions that demanded more skill and responsibility, which they would have learned over time on the way up.

But this is evil and cruel capitalist exploitation. So better the kids sell crack and kill each other than learn the American ideals of hard work and future reward.

285 When will these nitwits wake up and realize that Obama has no interest in avoiding the fiscal cliff. He knows we're heading into recession no matter what and when the "negotiations" with the Repubs break down he can blame the downturn on them. The tax increases will (in his economic pea brain) bring in more revenues that he can use to cement his power. The 20+ million additional people that are thrown out of work will become dependents of the government and greatful for the largesse he dispenses that provide them a confortable life of EBT, rent subsidies, Obama phones, etc. that allow them tosleep in and playing XBox all night.

From Obama's viewpoint there is absolutely no downside to going off the fiscal cliff. Even if the Repubs cave in and give him everything he asks for he'll just keep upping his demands until it gets to the point that the Repubs can't give anymore without all them being Tea Partied in 2014. Even then we end up with 435 house + 20 Senate Aikens, Mourdocks, Angles, McDonnels in the races which will lead to California level control for the Dems at a national level.

Better to call Obama's bluff, hold to principles, go over the cliff, prepare for the collapse and be ready to rebuild.

Rove say:

According to exit polls, turnout dropped among white and black Americans (by
8.3 million and 1 million, respectively) but rose among Hispanics. They added
850,000 votes to Mr. Obama's total compared with 2008. Millennials (those aged
18-29) were a larger share of the turnout than in 2008, but 176,000 fewer in
number. They cast 1.5 million fewer votes for Mr. Obama than last time and 1.1
million more votes for Mr. Romney than they did for Mr. McCain. To win, the GOP
must do better—much better—with Hispanics and millennials, and also with women
voters.

Republicans need not jettison their principles. But they must avoid appearing
judgmental and callous on social issues. Offensive comments about rape by GOP
Senate candidates in Missouri and Indiana gave the media an excuse to put social
issues at the election's center in a way that badly hurt the entire party, as
well as costing Republicans two Senate seats.

The GOP must reduce the destructiveness of the presidential primaries. In the
first place, activists can withhold support from candidates who make reckless
assaults on competitors, which happened too often this time. Also, the
Republican National Committee should limit the number of debates and, by showing
wisdom in picking debate moderators, limit the media's ability to depict the
party as a fringe group.

Another idea: Holding the convention in late August made sense when
candidates relied on public financing for the general election. That will never
happen again. The Romney campaign had tens of millions it couldn't spend for
months until he was officially nominated on Aug. 28. Future conventions should
be held as early as late June.

301 290 Maybe the most horrific part if this whole nightmare is the fact that all of this shit headed for the fan has been right there under everyone's nose all along and a slim majority either failed to recognize it or chose to ignore the gathering stench.

Again thanks to the Frankfurt School/MBM/Pubic Education long march.

Get out your poly storm gear.

We're going to be camping in a shitstorm.

That's very true. It been there for awhile. I first became aware of it when Clinton was touting his balanced budgets/surplus.

All borne on the back of creative government accounting.

When the economy returned under Bush and he started blowing the whistle on FM/FM, SS, et al. I thought we might be able to get back on track. Then, even (R)etarded majority said la-la-la-la. I figured it was just a matter of time.

302 Yep, Catheryn Herrige reports that Senate Democrats and "moderate Republicans" are against Senate "select" committee to roll all the investigations into one.

White wash all the way.

303 Well ,the great Republican stand in the House over the debt ceiling resulted in the fiscal cliff which will now allow the obamedia to blame the Repubes for a bad economy. Success! Now chief crier can follow-up with a last stand on tax rates for the wealthy. More success! Meanwhile, back at the ranch isn't the debt ceiling going up anyway?

305 Who gives a shit what Karl Rove has to say? He's partly to blame for the state of the Republican party as it is.

It started at the end of WWII when everyone assumed American economic dominance was the new normal and started spending like crazy and baking that temporary windfall into the cake going forward.

It never occurred to politicians that we dominated so completely because everybody else's economies were (literally) reduced to rubble by war and would take many decades to recover.

Newsflash: that party really is over.

308 297 $27.89/carton. Fuck You, Illinois.

Holy Smoke!

New Hampshire makes a lot off of Masshole smokers and they sell $40-$50 a carton ( I think )

Even still with the latest ILL tax increase, I can get Marlboro Special Light 100's around here for $51.xx/Ctn, $34xx in Ky. I'll make the drive for slightly generics and save almost $100.00 on four cartons.

309 Who's surprised at this...

Cluebat:
When a reporter askes a social issues quesion - we must be ready.
example:
reporter: "What do you think about rape and abortion?"
Answer: "Why does Obama favor late term abortion"
reporter: "You didn't anser my question."
Answer: "So what? I think you should find out why Obama is for late term abortion."
reporter: "Are you dodging my question? - just answer my question"
Answer: "I will just as soon as you answer my question. Why is Obama for late term abortion?"

Moderate Republicans? What Moderate Republicans? Christ, you've got McCain and Graham going all out on this, what more could they ask for?

305 - really? He's more to blame that Akin or Murdock? Rove fell short but he was constrained by the time limits he listed. Had Romney (or any candidate for that matter) been able to fight against the Obama machine earlier, it may have helped.
The circular firing squad may feel good, but we need all the good ideas we can get.

314 Boycott NBC?
I haven't watched it in years, so unfortunately I can't boycott it.

Posted by: Steve D at November 15, 2012 11:25 AM (p9ikY)

315 Come to think of it I haven't watched NBC, ABC, CBS or FOX in years and I am a better person for it.

316 To add to the complaints above, I am a now proud resident of Jesse Jr's District via the Chicago gerrymandering which occurred. His tentacles reached down from Chicago into Eastern Will County, a rural area full of white people undoubtedly near and dear to his heart.

317 I'm pretty sure that the Congress is going to let go of Benghazi the same way Romney did during the 3rd debate. McCain is a yard dog?His name should be McCan't.
We can blame the media, or the Dem spin machine. Bottom line no one really cares. It's a crazy handful of nuthin'.

Posted by: ConPunk at November 15, 2012 11:31 AM (vvw8n)

318 I would also add that I had a facebook friend crowing about diversity and how the Mitt Romney crowd all looked the same (not like Chicago's diversity). She lives in Wilmette, which is more white than my small rural suburb.

Posted by: ejo at November 15, 2012 11:32 AM (GXvSO)

319 Exactly Steve D that's why I don't think a boycott of viewing would be effective.

Sefton I agree ... the name calling conservatives into quiet has to stop bothering us.
