Posted by: Vic at November 13, 2012 09:16 AM (YdQQY)

14 I am going to keep posting this and updating it as I gather new info and data.

The GOP establishment as one of its first acts of capitulation looks to want to sign on to another general amnesty for Mexicans illegals and others.

This as I will show will have the exact opposite effect that many in the GOP establishment think they will attain with this policy.

If the GOP establishment wants to argue that it is good humanitarian policy
I could accept that, I would reject it, but I could accept that line of reasoning.

The GOP establishment surely must have access to the information I present it runs counter to the arguments put forward by the GOP establishment and the "conservative" intelligentsia that if we just amnesty millions of Mexican illegals and others the GOP will get the credit and the lions share of the votes that result from Mexican illegals and others being amnestied.

Here is all you need to know about how doing another round of amnesty will go.

Many of you are probably unaware, but the GOP used to own California.

Richard Nixon, yes that Richard Nixon, was a congressman and Senator
and Reagan was Governor from '67 to '75.

Do you think men such as these will ever be elected in California ever again.

Surely not!

A Brief History of the Presidential Voting History for California with a little background

1965 - Immigration and Nationality Act Passes

Ted Kennedy: "First, our cities will not be flooded with a million
immigrants annually. Under the proposed bill, the present level of immigration remains substantially the same... Secondly, the ethnic mix of this country will not be upset....

Contrary to the charges in some quarters, the bill will not
inundate America with immigrants from any one country or area, or the most populated and deprived nations of Africa and Asia....

In the final analysis, the ethnic pattern of immigration under the proposed
measure is not expected to change as sharply as the critics seem tothink."

THIS AS WE KNOW WAS A LIE

1968 - GOP
1972 - GOP.
1976 - GOP.
1980 - GOP.
1984 - GOP.

1986 - Simpson/Mazzoli Amnesty Act Passes. Largest general amnesty for illegal immigrants due to our cities being flooded by the '65 act.

1988 - GOP.
1992 - DEM.
1996 - DEM.

1996 - Illegal Immigration Reform and Responsibility act - Smoke and mirrors that was neither reform nor responsible.
It's main function was to water down sponsership requirements putting chain migration on steroids.

2000 - DEM.
2004 - DEM.

2008 - The political class tries to do another round of amnesty but is rebuffed by public outcry

2008 - DEM.
2012 - DEM.

California is now entirely Democrat and will never vote for another GOP President again, it's legislature has a super, super majority of Democrats because of massive unchecked illegal immigration from Mexico to that state.

Here is an article from the PEW center on hispanic voting patterns.

http://tinyurl.com/6uuc4

No Democrat has received less than 56% of the hispanic vote.

Two years after signing the largest general amnesty for Hispanics, the GOP nominee garnered 30% of the hispanic vote.

John "Mr Amnesty" McCain received 31% of the hispanic vote.

George W. Bush did the best with 40% of the hispanic vote.

On average Democrats get 65% of the hispanic vote.

The GOP will be committing suicide if it does another round of amnesty

Now if the GOP wishes to commit suicide they should state that is their plan.

This would allow conservatives the time to build a new party, because suicide is what they will be achieving with the policy.

Now what we should do is confront our politicians and the members of the "conservative" intelligentsia with these irrefutable facts and demand what the real reason is that they pursue these ruinous policies.

18 Romney Got Zero Votes In Fifty Nine Philly Precincts

But there is no evidence of vote fraud!

Pennsylvania election officials say they are not planning to investigate the extraordinary turnout and vote totals that President Obama garnered from parts of Philadelphia last Tuesday.

"In a presidential election year, there are times where you get extremely high turnout," said Ron Ruman, press secretary for Pennsylvania's Department of State, in a telephone interview with Fox News. "We would investigate if we thought there was something shady going on. But at this point, we have no reason to think that."

Vote totals > 100% are not suspicious (for a black Democrat in a black neighborhood).

20 It is rather curious that right out of the gate the GOP is capitulating to higher taxes and amnesty for Mexican illegals.

A cursory glance at the history of both sorts of policies measures and how it fared for the Republican party lead me to conclude that the Republican party exists solely as a way for giving the Progressive agenda a gloss of having a counterpoint.

We always move toward the progressives preferred policies and agenda, always

Fact: Two years after signing onto the largest general amnesty the GOP presidential candidate received 30% of the hispanic vote. Romney received 27% of the hispanic vote.

Our vote share is trending in the wrong direction.

Fact: After saying "Read My Lips, No new Taxes! Bush initially presents Congress a proposed budget containing steep spending cuts and no new taxes, but congressional Democrats dismiss this out of hand and Republicans refuse to fight.

President George H.W. Bush agrees to tax increases with illusionary spending cuts.

Was Bush hailed as a statesman and a bi-partisan compromiser?

No, he promptly gets branded a liar by the general public and faces a third party challenge by H. Ross Perot over tax increases.

During the Presidential campaign the the narrative is set that Bush is an out of touch tax hiker and liar. He loses his election to Slick WIlly.

The moral of the story is never compromise on foundational principles and never be goaded into policy positions that are clearly ruinous for your party by members of your party.

The GOP seems intent on destroying itself, I am torn about this prospect!

45 A lot
of people in this country pooh-pooh Australian table wines. This is a
pity as many fine Australian wines appeal not only to the Australian
palate but also to the cognoscenti of Great Britain.

Black Stump
Bordeaux is rightly praised as a peppermint flavored Burgundy, whilst a
good Sydney Syrup can rank with any of the world's best sugary wines.
Château Blue, too, has won many prizes; not least for its taste, and its
lingering afterburn. Old Smokey 1968 has been compared favorably to a
Welsh claret, whilst the Australian Wino Society thoroughly recommends a
1970 Coq du Rod Laver, which, believe me, has a kick on it like a mule.
Eight bottles of this and you're really finished. At the opening of the
Sydney Bridge Club, they were fishing them out of the main sewers every
half an hour.

Of the sparkling wines, the most famous is Perth
Pink. This is a bottle with a message in and the message is "beware".
This is not a wine for drinking; this is a wine for laying down and
avoiding.

Another good fighting wine is Melbourne Old
Yellow, which is particularly heavy and should be used only for
hand-to-hand combat.

Quite the reverse is true of Château
Chunder, which is an appellation contrôlée, specially grown for those
keen on regurgitation; a fine wine which really opens up the sluices at
both ends. Real emetic fans will also go for a Hobart Muddy and a prize
winning Cuivre Reserve Château Bottled Nuit San Wagga Wagga, which has a
bouquet like an aborigine's armpit.

A big 'get fucked' to those who say we need to make legal those who are not here legally in order to win elections. First talk to the biggest supporters of our current 'front door' system. IMO, there ARE ways to "prove" the massive fraud or, at the very least, find enough "reasonable doubt" to affect the result.

The problem is: that would take hard work, research and legal action, and those who did said hard work would risk alienating the eunuchs among "conservatives."

Granted, much of the "evidence" has probably been flushed or hidden, but gathering/reporting on/publicizing the rest is a job that people who care about America could do.

Do I think they will? Not at all. Squirrels and Shiny Stuff will rule the day, and all the timid wimps among the Republican Elite and their tame pundits will opt for "fairness" and Good Optics and all the rest of that shit. Anyone who tries to prove fraud will be attacked for their unwillingness to let the Voice of the People be Heard, will be called racists, and so on.

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Everyone who pays income tax — and some who don't —will feel it.

So will doctors who accept Medicare, people who
get unemployment aid, defense contractors, air traffic controllers,
national park rangers and companies that do research and development.

The package of tax increases and spending cuts
known as the "fiscal cliff" takes effect in January unless Congress
passes a budget deal by then. The economy would be hit so hard that it
would likely sink into recession in the first half of 2013, economists
say.

And no matter who you are, it will be all but impossible to avoid the pain.

Middle income families would have to pay an average of about $2,000
more next year, the nonpartisan Tax Policy Center has calculated.

Up to 3.4 million jobs would be lost, the
Congressional Budget Office estimates. The unemployment rate would reach
9.1 percent from the current 7.9 percent. Stocks could plunge. The
nonpartisan CBO estimates the total cost of the cliff in 2013 at $671
billion.

It goes beyond mere presenting of facts.

We have a data set that spans 30 years or a generation+ of hispanic voting patterns and our share of the vote is going down from 35% in 1980 to 27% in 2012.

The best we were able to do with this cohort is 40% in 2004.

No amount of outreach or messaging will change this dynamic.

Surely the GOP establishment can sees this data.

Surely the GOP must realize what the effect will be of legalizing masses of people who's voting history indicates that they will vote in massive numbers for the opposition party.

And yet they persist in this path toward assured destruction and marginalization.

The question is why?

Depends on the Senators involved.

Some like Mary Landrieu (D-LA) and Mark Pryor (D-AR) know their asses are on the line in two years and won't want to piss off their constituents, who voted against Obama by huge numbers.

Others who plan on being there for decades know that if Reid changes this, it will be used against them when control inevitably flips back down the line.

111 20 - its just about replacing the populace with a group more malleable and inexpensive, not to mention less of an international embarassment. Part of why is the government needs more revenue, but they need less payouts to the wrong demographics.
There's been several plans thus far. The one most often used were wars but our own success in military matters has made it impossible for large numbers of our own to die - and anyway, the wrong demographic is dying. See, its the Boomers with the crippling Medicare that they want, not so much the young and productive.
Which is why Obamacare is gearing up to be such a boon, as well as Iranian nukes. See, they kept poking the bear by stepping over whatever lines the blowhard American populace declared, hoping that various groups would get their backs up and start something - because as the thinking went if another nation can't face us down, then maybe a civil conflict was in order - but the populace has been too well-trained at this point for anything like that to happen anymore.
So, war starvation privation is in the cards now. It was either that or a really ugly plague but we haven't figured out how to tailor a virus that only affects us since we're from all over.

Let me show you the end game:
Republicans raised taxes on everyone because they wanted to protect their fatcat rich friends. Rather than being reasonable and just letting the rates go up on the rich making more than 250,000 per year, they decided to make you all suffer.

I would never let this happen if they were willing to work with me; we can't work together, so, in 2014, you must return the house to people who will work with me.

That's how it will play. It's time to let the rates go up on the rich. It's time to present a bill that raises all sorts of taxes on dem interests - tax the rich at 60, 70, 80, 100 percent. Tax trusts, tax wealth. Tax it all.

The 'rich' aren't our friends - some are but most are, by-and-large, Dem contributors. Time to use our opponents own words against them. Turn your enemy's strength against him.

By the way, did you see what I did with this line:
"Rather than being reasonable and just letting the rates go up on the rich making more than 250,000 per year, "

This is how they will being the rhetoric of attacking the upper middle class (which even 250K or 500K is; they certainly aren't 'rich').

They'll also 'hardcode' the number that the level the taxes on the rich kick in in and not index them for inflation - so, like the AMT, many people will be caught by it.

That's a feature, not a bug. All I can say, is I think the government will collapse before the point comes where 'middle-class' is making 250K+ year and just getting by.

119 I can't believe Yahoo ran this story about ObozoCare. A few excerpts.

What does this all mean for the broader health care industry? To answer that, Breakout welcomed Les Funtleyder, President of Investment Advisory at Poliwogg.

And once the law actually goes into effect it's the pre-existing
conditions provision that has the potential to do a lot of damage to the
consumer, according to Funtleyder. He says it is "likely insurance
companies will raise premiums on everybody, given the mandate, to deal
with the number of pre-existing conditions that come into the fold." And
that is one of the many key criticisms of the plan: little to no direct
cost control. As it stands, the bill has only one such feature, namely
the so-called "death panels" which put bureaucrats in charge of certain
health care decisions.

Funtleyder says that particular feature
is widely disliked on both sides of the political aisle, making it a
reasonable assumption that the "death panels" could be repealed. If that
happens, he argues there will be no mechanism at all to control costs.

So we've got the fiscal cliff (higher taxes, higher unemployment) combined with higher healthcare costs from Obozocare. Buckle up kids, the shit storm is about to hit.

149 As someone who lives close to Philadelphia and has argued extensively with some of the leftists in that town I really think that 99% turnout with zero votes for R/R is quite possible even without fraud.

Some of those neighborhoods are nothing but row after row of decrepit row homes. The taxes on them are miniscule -- maybe in the couple hundred dollar a year range. A lot of the homes have been passed down from generation to generation. The people think that higher taxes on real estate to support the school system would be an impeachable offense for any mayor to propose. They want their schools to be paid for by 'wealthy' suburbanites.

I'd venture that the majority of them have figured out how to game the system so that the government supports 99% of their financial needs -- why wouldn't they show up in force to protect that gravy train?

150 20 It is rather curious that right out of the gate the GOP is capitulating to higher taxes and amnesty for Mexican illegals.
-
I see the guys at Powerline Blog as a decent indicator of what the Republican establishment is thinking. John Hindraker's piece Where Do Republicans Go From Here? The Social Issues recommends giving the game away on the "social issues" while making a very thin pretense of not doing that. Abortion: we give up, we lost, it's over; gay marriage: of course pro-gay-marriage is the authentic conservative position; crime, mass immigration etc. "Oh, Colonel Hogan, I see nothing, nothing!"

This would leave the party with nothing "moral" about it at all - just a belligerent foreign policy (which is bitterly unpopular and will remain so) and an ice-water cold economic fixation, which is not liked or trusted by the public and was rejected in the election just concluded.

Pretty sure one of the other land-mines in ObamaCare was "community rating." Basically, you can't charge different people in the same geographic region (normally a group of zip codes) different rates. If you accept them, they all pay the same rate. And, now, with Guaranteed Issue, a lot of people who the insurance companies wouldn't voluntarily have insured are now going to raise your insurance rates.

199 The insurance companies can and did charge people with pre-existing conditions in the past. I had a friend whose wife had a heart attack while he was a contractor.

When he went independent he said it took him a long time to find a company that would cover them but he did. His wife's policy alone was 10K year.

The problem is that without a group policy the insurance companies lose their ass on those policies. A visit to the ER with a heart attack can run well over 100K.

And this is what that pre-existing condition stuff is designed to do. Bankrupt the health insurance industry.

The the government will become single payer which is what the commies have always wanted. When the government is the only one covering insurance then they effectively own the healthcare system.

It becomes defacto nationalized.

You may also already be subject to community rating. I know some plans in Texas are, and I think some States had already implemented it across-the-board.

If you don't also have guaranteed issue, community rating is really good for the Insurance companies- it saves them a lot of money on under-writing, and they get to raise everyone's rates "just 'cause."

EPA has a LOT of haters.

---

Texas and Louisiana would be the lynchpin of any such effort between natural resources, industry, and geography.

Having oil, refineries, and a lot of the major ports on the Gulf and at the mouth of the Mississippi means serious problems for the remaining US if they bolt.

Mississippi would be a tag-along as much as anything. They have agriculture, food processing, and some industry (car assembly, for example), but don't have much oil and the ports along the MS Gulf Coast aren't nearly as busy as the ones in Louisiana or Texas.

The city of San Francisco wanted to fire their corrupt commissioner of elections a few years back but didn't because her life-partner was in the middle of a sex reassignment that was being paid for on the city insurance. They successfully argued that it would be cruel and unusual to dump them from the city insurance during that process, IIRC.

330 @308

Why Is The Medicare 3.8% Tax on Investment Income Even In The Health Care Bill?
Beats
the heck out of me! In the grand scheme of things, this particular
provision promises to raise a very, very small amount of money. Given
that less than 3% of U.S. households earn above $250,000 a year and the
median price of a home in the U.S. today is roughly $150,000, I am not
sure how this is going to raise much money at all. It will affect a
relatively small number of people on an even smaller number of
transactions.

So what is the purpose?

It's purpose is not to raise money as it won't!

Use your savings to feed it, buy PMAGs, and possibly for an optic.

PMC makes about the cheapest brass cased fodder, and in my experience, it goes bang everytime.

Since the window PMAGs hit the market, the windowless ones got to be a few bucks cheaper. I don't get the point of a window when there's no window on the magwell that's going to let you see what's left below about eight rounds which happens to be about the time I'd be most concerned about remaining capacity.

The Trijicon Reflex series aren't cheap, but they cost about half as much as an ACOG.

358 EC, I own a Ruger SR-556, shoots like a dream, accurate, dependable, and holy wow is it loud. I would recommend it, especially since it is likely to be cheaper than the Bushmaster ACR.

ACR's an awesome gun, but I don't think you'd be encountering any marauders who would not be sufficiently cowed/injured by a .223/5.56mm round to necessitate the .277/6.8 round. Also, I don't know how it is around there, but up here in Nebraska, I don't see a lot of 6.8 SPC in stock. Ever.

Just not a very common round yet. Basically if you think you need a heavier round, might as well just get a .308.

Human bodies are not perfect, and a good 90% of the time they're

386 Ohio families receiving food stamps could get an unwelcome surprise come January: $50 less every month in assistance.

For the 869,000 households enrolled in the program for the poorest Ohioans, that could amount to about $520 million annually out of the grocery budgets.

Because of the way the federal government calculates utility expenses for people receiving the benefit, a mild winter nationwide last year, and a lower price for natural gas, many families could experience a significant cut in aid, those familiar with the program say.

Don't say such things even in jest. This world judges based on appearance, and we see where that has led - to the President of the USA being an empty suit Marxist adult-child with delusions of godhood, to whole societies falling apart at the seams for the sake of one more day in the spotlight. Earthly beauty is fleeting, and all the worse for those who had it when it is gone, and it will be gone.

Don't ever worry about such things. o.o~ They have no value, and indeed are a pale shadow compared to the glory that is to come in the next world, and that beauty shall never fade, and will be orders of magnitude greater than what men and women destroy themselves for here on earth.

I get that it's not fair to healthy people to have to pay for those who are not healthy because of their lifestyle choices, but there is a huge group of people who did not have a say in their illness. Maybe insurance rates should be case by case, I really don't know the answer, but things like this are not always black and white. Maybe if a "sick" person shows that they have kept and paid for insurance along the way, their rates would be less then those who didn't give a shit and drank and smoked etc.. but didn't buy insurance previously?

The govt will have to go after the tax-free exchange program next or they won't collect much from the newreal estate tax. If the govt collects what it thinks it will collect, that's $210 billion out of citizens pockets over 10 years.

They won't get that much as tax avoidance by exchanging will become more popular. At the same time, there is talk of raising the capital gains tax to 25%.

This will slow sales of investment property and/or force more tax-free exchanges. I predict the exchange program will be altered soon to stop people from avoiding the new tax.

421 413 FTL,

well spare parts is a big part of it.

the reliability of a piston driven AR vs the Gas impingement system is pretty much unarguable.

The green berets I've talked with who demanded the HK416 say there is a sacrifice in pure accuracy that most shooters will never notice and is not much of an issue in baseline customer service distances.

Of course if you're looking for RAW reliability you'd go with an AK action in 5.56.

When i first got out of the Army and my shooting skills were still tuned up i could break broomsticks at 50 yards with iron sights to be hinest now I am probably less accurate than the rifle on an HK416 platform is if you follow me.

I courted the wife using an AK with a 75 round drum to juggle a 2*4 a bit.

She was in love.

424 417 PhenixGirl,

Amen. The beauty a couple should focus on is how many times your partner answers the bell of dealing with life's bullshit to answer your gain that you both try to exert for the future kids. That society is so fucked up that it is hard to find folk who appreciate that beauty is bad and sad but evidence perhaps that we need to break our fucking TVs and get back to work and meeting folks.

Heather I am serious to the point that after I have rested a bit more I'll even hop on twitter despite trying to nuke my accounts and we'll all meet for coffee or apple cider heated up somewhere.

Hell I aim to show off the boy some more any way.

he;s a lot nicer person than me.

I'll be at the next moron meetup.

425 I believe it is better than the gas as there is less chance to foul the action and easier to clean.

And another thing, your own store-bought rifle won't be a piece of shit A1 that spent twenty years in the hands of recruits when not soaking in drill sergeants' kerosene baths or submitting to the tender mercies of contract armorers' waffle-faced framing hammers and pipe wrenches.

And that dirty gas not getting blown into the receiver is going into the piston assembly. Did I forget to mention that AR piston assemblies are proprietary?

In normal times, I think the piston has a lot going for it. These aren't normal times.

Forget the bullshit upthread. What's important isn't what is on the outside but, instead, between your ears.

In the aftermath of the election, however, Daly is willing to say things that few conservative evangelical leaders are likely to say. He believes, for instance, that the Christian right lost the fight against same-sex marriage in four states in part because it is on the losing side of a cultural paradigm.

He says the evangelical community should have been considering immigration reform years ago, "but we were led more by political-think than church-think."

So now the election returns are in, we can all see that Jesus was on the side of mass illegal immigration all along.

429 sven,

Just to be clear, I'm not talking about the stuff that counts at the margins. While those things are important, I'm thinking more in terms of the logistics of keeping it running under a severe parts supply drought.

Posted by: FRONT TOWARD LEFT at November 13, 2012 11:22 AM (ogdab)

430 Sven -- in answer -- honestly, I don't know. I have a habit of staying and fighting long after the cause is lost, largely to my detriment, but if I could find an 'In' I might decide to take it.

I don't believe the social compact is a suicide pact. I just wish there were folks with influence who understood that too.

437 430 brother cavill,

Take a breath....I stayed awake pretty much a week and then allowed myself to fall.

Getting up felt good and not needing John Boehner or Mitt Romney or esecially Davey Frum to try to explain to me what part of my beliefs I need to chuck for 5 hours made me a lot happier.

We don;t need to change they do and I ain't gonna pay them to do it.

OK, so she runs her husband over for not voting...

"Daniel Solomon, 36, was in critical condition at a local hospital, but is expected to survive, Gilbert police spokesman Sergeant Jesse Sanger said."

... So, yeah, nothing seems to really work.

[BTW, I'm still not convinced this election wasn't fixed - including the Senate races, where there were too many toss-ups lost to be just random chance. Losing POTUS AND being just really, really unlucky? I suspect there was a lot more than just the crap like in Phila going on. Suddenly everybody on ORCA can't sign on, and resetting passwords doesn't work? That sounds more like malware than likea shitty slapped-together-in-a-hurry S/W problem to me.]

Heather, there are only a couple of people here with your special combination of intellect and twisted sarcasm and biting snark.

Those qualities are far deeper, rarer, and age in a much more interesting manner than whatever currently passes for "looks".

Trust me, I know superficial, I'm originally a Masshole.

448 Can we find just one person in those Philly divisions that did vote for Romney and we can verify they voted. We could use that to bring the whole corrupt system down. We need to put some commercials up in those areas asking people to step forward.

450 On the zero votes for Romney in some areas around the nation: Mebbe it's not (all) fraud. Probably just the fact that many areas are predominately African American demographically ...and most, if not all of the electorate in those areas voted for Obama. If he's getting 90+% of the black vote, and if some precincts are predominately black...you'll see some precincts go for Obama by 90% or more.
You should find similar disparities in some precincts in red states and voting for the Republican by similar numbers.
That's not to say that there isn't voter fraud in some areas...which has often been committed by both parties. (The left does seem to have more practice at cheating, imo.)
