Adam Carolla: "Obama seems like he'd be a good President. I can't wait until he gets started."

His other joke is that Obama's been "working the body" of the world's problems for the last four years, and is finally ready to unleash his devastating haymaker.

Um, just so you know: While Obamabots might say this seriously, Carolla's saying it with bitter irony. He is making fun of the fact that this guy's had four years to solve the problems he now says he's all ready to start working on.

He rants about the election in the beginning of yesterday's show.

Worth a listen. He also knocks Elizabeth Warren a bunch.

He voted Republican, straight Republican, for the first time in his life. So that's something.

Stupid sheep. We have a nude scanner here in Slovannah and you STILL get felt up.

I thought our boy would lose it going back to his duty station. Went through the nude scanner, got a full-body feel-up, had his hands scanned for explosive residue....and as he prepared to board the plane, the TSA goons decided to check him and another military guy for one.further.search of their military backpacks.

A girlfriend of mine traveling to Europe with her husband went thru the nude scanner, then had a TSA goonette slide her hands under her bra and feel her breasts.

44 I also voted straight R for the first time in my life. I feel I was let down by a candidate who wasn't able to close, in part, because he was so badly damaged in a process so destructive to potentially good people. He was damaged because of all the lurching around to cover the "moral outrage" crowds issues, convince them to vote for him, then gravitate back towards the center where the vast majority of people are.

And that worked out real damn well now, didn't it.

Imagine if we never had to worry about the moral outrage crowd. This wouldn't have been an issue. The candidate, while flawed, wouldn't have had this vulnerability. And it was a huge one.

Straight R. And I was let down, because some in the R group really don't believe in limited government, or in states rights. They want the nanny state legislating morality.

A serious WTF people.

When you want to start winning, let us know. Until then, hone your moral outrage, over groups that are our natural allies. Do your best to make them seem less than human, less than people.

48 http://tinyurl.com/b3tnm8d

Take a look at this. It says that 6.7 million white voters didn't show up and Romney won white voters 57% to 40%. On the second page, there is a map of Ohio and shows that rural areas were down 1 to more than 10%. There were some Republican counties near the cities that come out strong. But everywhere else was down. It also says that other demographics basically came out the same (black vote was a little higher percentage wise).

So it appears that this was really Mitt Romney race to lose. And he lost it. There was no SHIFT or anything of the like. One thing I'm hearing is that Romney was too stiff and that his being "rich" and those attack ads were effective. I can't disagree. While Romney really hit his stride at the end, he was no longer on TV outside of ads. I think that was a mistake.

Anyways, I do think that the GOP should look at adding another demographic as its base. It won't survive in the long run otherwise.

60 Hey who wouldn't like the Obama we just saw in the campaign? He wants to cut spending and even offered the Republicans 10:1 spending cuts to tax increases. After the fiscal cliff, once those evil Bush tax cuts for millionaires are retired and the sequester that Obama denied creating wanting - the Republicans should see if Obama was honest about his promises this time around. Let all Bush tax cuts expire and then do a deal to eliminate some deductions for major spending cuts at the 10:1 rate Obama suggested and, then, ensure some money is retained for defense. Republicans can insist on actual spending cuts instead of cuts in growth since, after all, cuts in growth are still increases in spending. Then some of the 47% will have to start paying some taxes like the rest of us and get some skin in the game.

could turn the economy around.

This confirms what I've been
thinking from seeing first-hand the disappointment and lack of
excitement for Obama2010 here in my overwhelmingly Democratic area of
Los Angeles.

A huge number of white Democrats are scared crapless
about the choice they made in '08. They didn't vote for him again this
time, but weren't willing to go as far as voting for a Republican-
thinking that there would be enough other people who'd vote to put
Romney in. I just got off the phone with a friend living in San
Francisco. I had called him and several other friends who live up there a
few days before the election to get them out to vote Romney. They were
Democrats who voted Obama and now regret it. He for one, didn't vote- he
thought enough Republicans would show up to toss out Bari. Now he's
stunned the he won re-election.

THEY'RE SCARED SHITLESS NOW!

People should not succumb to this feeling of dread. The Democrats are much weaker than you think.

okay, Mr Fuckin Know It All

Posted by: soothsayer at November 08, 2012 06:25 PM (jUytm)

123 This may seem a little far afield from this particular story, but not really...

The Kochs, the Adelsons, the Wynns and the Trumps of the world need to begin concentrating their considerable fortunes less on political ads and more on founding subscription based tv networks along the lines of what Blaze TV is doing. And not just news either. Imagine what someone with Gutfeld's or Carolla's, or, dare I say, Ace's comedic sensibility could bring to a "Liberty Network" (or better yet, a stealthier generic name that doesn't refer to icky conservative virtues at all)...The right don't traditionally do irony well, but it is the language of the culture, (particularly the youth) and as Brietbart so wisely recognized, this is where this battle must be fought...The left's pc/victimhood message is stale. We need to reach out to the Southpark republicans, who don't yet even know that thats what they are.

Drama? Mamet, Sinise, Voight, or Clint among others...

Culturally, our views have effectively been blacklisted by the gatekeepers. (Actually worse then blacklisted, as we are openly mocked at every turn) The gatekeepers will always be beholden to the left, so stop complaining. Ignore them. Walk around their gates. Create/fund new sources for entertainment and news. Networks that show up on your TV like any other channel (as the Blaze does for Dish subscribers)...Or via Roku or Hulu or whatever.

Just as Drudge changed the world with his Monica Lewinski scoop, so too can the right when we are able to reach enough people to effect the culture. Do you remember when the Fox network was a joke? I do. (And I'm not talking about Fox News) Fox was lingering in the ratings sub-basement until The Simpsons came along and catapulted them into the national discourse and set them up for Married with Children and every success thereafter.

The good news is that technology has finally made all of this possible. The time has come for the right to begin creating and supporting alternatives to the traditional gatekeepers...And just as importantly, canceling cable, as it funds the cultural rot of American society and pays people like Chris Mathews and Bill Maher to insult you.

(...and if you can't imagine missing your favorite shows, watch them on Hulu or by some other method instead)

I have a feeling a lot of Democrats feel this way.

Including many Democrats in the MSM. Sure, they shilled and covered for O-- but they're also witnesses (better than most Americans) to what's going on; they're not completely blind. They know about Benghazi. They know Obama lies. They *know* he's a SCOAMF. They've heard from Bob Woodward et al that the White House is being run by amateurs, children.

I honestly think many Dems though the GOP had this. But they voted for Obama (or didn't vote at all) because they couldn't bring themselves to vote for a Republican... and they wanted to spare O (First Black President) from too humiliating a loss. But I think many of them were counting on a GOP victory, were resigned to it and relieved at the thought.

Let's also continue to nominate extremely wealthy bankers with car elevators and a weird religion that are just like the other guy's candidate, only with less conviction! Genius!1! Where do I donate?

Because NONE of those things, if you read NRO, are the problem. Nope.

The real problem, according to NRO: people just didn't want our message of "personal freedom" and "liberty" and "self-reliance". Riiiiiight.

Keep telling yourself that, NRO, and you'll continue to lose elections in 2014 and 2016 and beyond.

The problem is that no matter how good Romney would have been at running the country, his party, the GOP, has absolutely toxic social positions, and people won't budge on that stuff. There's enough people now who can't stand the GOP's social platform that any national election can be won by the Dems, full stop, until the GOP rejects it, full stop.

Reason Clintoon skated: President Al Gore. I was no fan of the 'Toon, but I wasn't enthusiastic about impeachment because Gore is a fucking lunatic completely disassociated from reality.
Reason Teh JEF will skate: President Joe Biden. Teh JEF is indeed a SCOAMF, but he won't mistake the launch codes for a discount code from Pizza Hut and start a full-scale thermonuclear exchange, which I can easily see Uncle Choo Choo doing. That is why he won't be impeached. That's the reason he picked BiteMe to begin with: impeachment insurance. There's no other explanation. Had he picked Hillary he would have won 2008 by twenty points and the Dems would have had a solid heir-apparent for 2016 and avoided a divisive primary. That's the only thing that gives me hope about Teh JEF winning: it gives us the possibility, albeit remote, of Uncle ChooChoo being their nominee in 2016.

157 PS I also think a number of Republicans/ conservatives-- especially those who *didn't* vote for Romney-- assumed it was a foregone conclusion that he would win.

They assumed Romney victory was inevitable.

So they thought they had the LUXURY of voting (or abstaining from voting) on "principle."

This was what they were looking forward to: Romney winning, and then for four years they could say "I told you so" when Romney did anything to disappoint conservatives.

They weren't counting on a Romney loss. For which they are now partly responsible.

Cf. posts ON THE DAY BEFORE THE ELECTION from ideologically very different people, our own beloved Monty at AOSHQ and Maggie Gallagher (ugh she's so awful) at NRO.

They felt they had the luxury to run down, attack, "meh" our nominee, paint a pessimistic picture of what would happen after Romney won, discourage/ alienate/ turn off their ideological brethren from the GOP nominee, ON THE DAY BEFORE THE ELECTION.

Even if they nominally endorsed him, it was a completely back-handed endorsement.

They did that, because they were confident he would win.

Oops.

158 NRO has become worthless. Listening to those fucking academics has gotten us into this fucking mess in the first place.
Pick candidates from the dems list of fucking personal attacks:
Class warfare:
Let's see, pick a guy who came from nothing to make something
Women:
Pick a fucking candidate that has answers to these issues and not someone rabid or a great woman candidate. Individual freedom, state voters should decide. Divide personal from policy for fuck's sake.
Minorities:
Include one on the national stage, P or VP, fuck them with their own identity politics.
Military Service:
Pick a veteran.
Your answer:
Tom Cotton Tom Cotton Tom Cotton Tom Cotton Tom Cotton Tom Cotton Tom Cotton.
Cotton/Rubio would blow away the fucking field. Look this guy up. He just got elected as Rep. from Arkansas. Will almost definitely be senator from Arkansas after two years.
And then, who knows....

You do realize that Gay Marriage was rejected by voters in California back in 2010 don't you?

It's the biggest fraud of all that the Left has been allowed to present their radical, anti-human positions as the acceptable norm, while portraying common sense traditional morality still upheld by most Americans as extreme.

It's strange that those who say we need to reach out to Hispanics and Blacks never acknowledge that the best way to do that would be to appeal to them on the issues of protecting traditional values.

167 I wanted to post this in an earlier thread about attracting another demographic to the Rep party. I don't see how this is realistic: 1/2 of the country wants free shit. Half. And they have now learned if they keep voting "D," free shit rains down on them. I think that is THE fundamental change. The Dems figured out a looong time ago that if you stick the needle of Gub-ment help in often enough, you get a permanent voting block of junkies. All OBambi and company did was start filling up more and more needles with high-grade, black tar heroin. He has, quite literally, an addicted voting base.
Assuming the above is true, that the country "tipped over," (you know, like Guam), how the hell can the Reps hope to shear any group off of this dependency block?
It's THE defining difference between the 2 parties. Someone help me understand how R's can ever win another national election?

+1000. This combined with the FailWhale ap Mittens was relying on for GOTV, along with Fat Bastard's effusive praise for the SCOAMF, was enough to lose the election. Dick Morris and Karl Rove and the rest who were claiming Romney would win in a landslide fucked up big time. I don't blame Ace or CAC or any other bloggers because they were only following the lead of the pollsters and pundits, but when you have a candidate who a lot of R's don't really like or trust and everybody is screaming it will be a Romney landslide and anybody who claims otherwise is a filthy concern troll, those guys are going to be less likely to show up, or they'll vote third party, because "hell, Romney has it in the bag, so I can skip voting or vote my conscience for Gary Johnson or whoever".

Also, a note for future candidates: don't base your operation in Boston. Set up office in a critical swing state like OH or FL or VA so your people have some sense of what the fuck is happening on the ground in places that matter. Also, don't hire people like Eric Fehrnstrom and Andrea Saul to run your campaign. Those fucking idiots couldn't convince the average swing-state conservative that the sky is blue, much less that they need to get out and vote.

182 Why we lost:

1. Mitt's campaign actually was clueless about how to GOTV and nobody realized it.
2. During the general election, he basically ran John McCain's "honorable campaign."

Remember how Mitt took it to Newt and Rick Perry during the primaries? He tore them up and stopped every candidate the minute any of one them seemed to be picking up momentum and gaining traction. Where was that guy when he had to face Obama? Meanwhile, Democrats are willing to be mean, nasty, cheat, steal, and lie. That's why we lose because we let a goody two-shoes Mormon walk into a gun fight with a Swiss army knife, you know the kind with the little tiny scissors on them that every Boy Scout owns.

Do you think the middle class lefties who live in cute houses on leafy streets in places like Madison and Burlington VT will be willing to give up their nice houses and yards to go live in public housing? See, that is when the worm turns - when middle class, college-educated lefties in lily white neighborhoods start suffering themselves. They haven't - not yet - so they can still advocate throwing free shit at the Free Shit Army. Their leftism is a pose - it makes white-bread suburbanites with lawns and mortgages feel like they haven't sold out the ideals they had when they were dumb college kids with a Che poster on the wall. The libs get to feel good about themselves, as long as the Free Shit Army is far away from them. And it hasn't cost them much - they have 401 K's too, and take trips to Europe and shop at WH. When they actually start suffering themselves, they'll change their tune damn quick.
