The First Annual Ace Pudding Palooza Rock the Vote Giveaway Sextravaganza

Here's what I'm giving away. A good guy commissioned a piece of original art by Chris Muir of Day by Day. He offered to send me a hard copy.

Here it is. It's a thing of exquisite beauty.

I can probably get some signatures on it, from Chris Muir and maybe me or whoever else you want.

So, here's how to get this perfectly awesome thing. Volunteer either to phone from home with the RNC, or do a turn in the closest Victory Center, or canvas with Freedom Works, or whatever. Like, if you want some of the cobloggers to sign, I'm pretty sure they'd do so. (That would delay getting it out to you, as it would have to be mailed around.)

Take down contact information of whoever you're working with there. Or note what email you signed up with to do from-home voting.

After you've volunteered, write to AcePuddingPalooza at the mail service provided by Google. State where you volunteered and such.

Deadline for emails is 3:00 am tomorrow night (after the election), Eastern time. Midnight Pacific time.

Once I've got some emails I will use a random method of selecting a winner -- and I will in fact be using GameScience polyhedral dice to determine who's the lucky winner -- I imagine a d20 and some lesser die, like a d8 or d12, will be involved.

A couple of weeks after the election, I'll send it out to you.

I'll also do some minimal-level checking to make sure you really volunteered. I don't think you'd lie; I'm more worried about it idiots on the left spoofing the contest.

The actual pic will be sent out in 2-3 weeks, depending on how long it takes to get into my hands and such.

Anyway, I'm heading over tonight. So, an early night for me on the blog.

Red Staters Needed Too: In case you don't know, if you're in a deep red state, when you go to a victory center, or call from home, they're not going to have you call people in your already-safe state.

They're going to have phone numbers in swing states.

"I live in a Red State" is not a good reason to do nothing.

Take Most of the Day Off Tomorrow... If you want to do some critical in-person canvassing, poll-working, or strike-listing.

"Taking the day off" is of course sometimes not possible, but never hurts to ask your boss.

Other Signatures: I can't guarantee it, but I have some connections to some people in the blogosphere. I might be able to get you some other signatures. If you win, let me know who you want to sign, and I'll see if I can't make that happen.

Some people are pretty good about stuff like this, Glenn Reynolds, for example. Or Jim Geraghty's always up for a lark. Goldberg likes silly stuff.

Can't guarantee that stuff but a lot of people will think it's kind of funny and would be amenable to it.

51 O/T Hey rons. I just got my book review back from the editor at Amazon. I have nobody to share it with so I'll share it with you.

Dear Mr. July,

First off, let me just say how much I truly enjoyed Amy Lynn. I literally found myself crying at some points and overjoyed at others, amazed that the little girl with the tough, undefeatable spirit at the beginning of the book blossomed into such an amazing, heroic young woman. Whether or not you believe it (and I refer to your notes under your editing preferences), you are a writer and a very good one, and you do tell an excellent story. It was an honor to help you with your editing, and I mean that from the bottom of my heart.

The characters were all well-crafted and very easy for the reader to picture. They all came across as very clear and relatable, from Jack and his bullet-damaged face to Carla Jo’s casual elegance to Amy’s undeniably strong spirit and natural beauty. Even the minor characters were described well enough so that the reader could easily visualize them during their brief appearances in the story.

As noted before, you absolutely do have the ability to tell an amazing story. The pace moved along very evenly and at no point did it feel as through the story was dwelling on one issue for too long or becoming cumbersome. It followed Amy’s life to the point where readers really do become quite invested in her actions and feel for her in tough times because they feel like they’ve known her since she was young; and in essence, they have.

Again, I just wanted to say how much I enjoyed working on this manuscript and I hope I have been able to help on the fine tuning of such an amazing adventure story. I hope these edits and comments are valuable in helping the manuscript achieve your publishing goals. Good luck in your revision, and I wish you all the best for this manuscript and future books.

Ther is much more and I still have some editing to do. But to have a pro tell you your writing is worth a shit? I am so FKN jazzed that I cried. Thank you to the rons and ronettes that were betas and supported me in this endevor and it will be available by Christmas.

If it's warm - have a few umbrellas on hand to ward off the sun. keep an ice chest full of bottled water.

Regarding the closeness of the polls: Is the scenario being set up for allegations of vote fraud, voter suppression - when Romney wins by 5 points, the sycophants cry "how could he win by 5, the polls say the vote was tied!"

Also, look for Pelosi and Reid to propose that henceforth, the polls will elect the President and Vice President - the voting process is just too costly and we'll show that we don't deserve the right to vote when we send Obama & the Beard back to Hawaii.

*sniff* I am so fucking proud to be a part of a Horde that a. has

And have you seen the political cartoons by the guy at Legal Insurrection? I don't even know his name so I'll look it up quick before posting this.

But that guy's political cartoons are so right on the money. Possibly my favorite political cartoonist ever -- should be syndicated.

His name is A.F. Branco.

356 New New Hampshire Poll! Romney 70%, Obama 20%, 10% Undecided; MOE +/- 30.99%. If restricted to likely voters: Romney 78%, Obama 11%, 11% Undecided; MOE 32.67 %.

Actually this "poll" is based on calls I made today for the Romney campaign. As you can probably guess from the numbers, only 10 of the hundred or so voters that I called were home, picked up the phone, and agreed to discuss their vote. One (an Obama voter) of the ten voters failed the likely voter screen, as he said he would vote "if he had time". One of the seven Romney voters confessed to being a Democrat, but was definitely voting for Romney.

The voters that were called came from an alphabetical list of registered voters, so would not have represented a random sample regardless of the number of responses. The "MOE" reported above is based on the population (800,000 voters) and sample size (10), but are not really meaningful, obviously.

Are people really eeyoring because Romney is campaigning tomorrow? That's silly. You have to look WHERE Romney is going. He's going into PA and OH. In PA, he's going to a county where he needs to have a really good showing. So he's doubling down on that county. Exactly what he needs to do.

In OH, he wants to cut down Obama's margin in certain urban areas. These are key counties that Republicans have long known will help. The fact that he's even ABLE to do this is impressive.

Obama did the same thing last time in IN. Did he not go in VA or NC as well? Bush went in OH on election day in 2004. It works when you're winning. Also, would you really want to campaign if it's a lost cause? Obama had 3 events today. Romney had 5 today and 5 yesterday. In fact, I don't think Romney is done yet for the night.

@387

Yeah. When you're behind, you leak things like "we're very close, within margin of error, onlya point or two behind"

When you're ahead, you leak "we're ahead, but it's gonna be close so no resting on your laurels, get out there and vote!!"

397 It seems I have seen this post before. Or I am in an alternate universe going backwards. #ChristyBHasGoneOverDeepEnd

I am thinking of things to do tomorrow while not looking at the interwebs or tv all day to potentially tick me off, creating instant mayhem and rioting. I historically only listen to Rush then go dark until 7 or 8pm when polls close in Florida.

I may clean my house and refridgerator and useful stuff like that in my mania when not on my knees praying. Christmas shop online without peeking at gloom posts of Dems cheating at polls! Order pecans! Do stuff that I haven't done to catch up around here for months! Wear myself out on elliptical then do all of above. In reality I will probably be clinging to my Bible with my left hand and my lady shotgun with my right and staring at the wall in a fugue state (I don't know how to shoot it but I have one, and gun guy told husband it is a lady shotgun. It is not pink. If it ever gets cooler I will go shoot clay pigeons with gang of men I live with. I am quite sure I will be better than all of them). I have books to read. Prayers to pray between maniacal cleaning sprees. Deep breath. We will survive. I think I will play Adele and sing really loud. Make voodoo potato head of The Won. I have lots to do.

Tragically I forgot to order my special gin, Junipero, from NJ and figure they are pretty busy right now. So that will have to wait.

398 I have this lovely image of Ann Romney looking as sketched of inaugural gowns in my mind's eye. Anna Wintour, be damned, you know there are designers out there going crazy with the thought of designing a gown for a natural beauty with a great figure and true flair. If it was me, I would dress her in a gown that shaded from peacock blue around her face and neck to midnight blue at the hem and absolutely dripping with sapphires and diamonds.

399 Has anyone heard from their church or parish about buses rolling to take people to vote? I heard Perkins today say the evangelicals are more charged up this election since Reagan. Can anyone validate this? I hope so.

I keep forgetting that I have to disable wi-fi in order to post here when I'm at home -- some kind of phantom ban has been laid on our router here without me having received any notice of it.

Anyhoo...

The State That Cannot be Named is a dead loss because of Joey Choo-Choo and a nearly completely moribund GOP.

After voting first thing tomorrow morning, I'm heading up to Pennsylvania, where I'm going to be a poll watcher all day in Bucks County, one of the four suburban counties that surround Philadelphia. Woo-hoo!

Heard a little about it on Beck. There was a guest (voice only) that was on talking about this. He says it's not just evangelicals, but that they've actually linked with other religions to defeat Obama because of "shared values". Catholics and Christians are vocally telling people to vote for their values. They are active and will be volunteering on election day.

BTW, (different topic), I'm hearing there is a real hate of Obama in PA. Only in Philly can he go, but he doesn't dare for fear of losing other parts of the state. That's why he sent Clinton. Obama can't go in PA. So Romney is going tomorrow to PA since Obama can't follow him.

Posted by: MrX at November 05, 2012 09:09 PM (PxmNZ)

404 @399, my pastor rarely talks about politics. But yesterday he basically told people to vote "biblical values" and that he felt led that the outcome of this election may determine whether their children and grandchildren will be persecuted for their faith. I know that seems kinda melodramatic but I've sometimes had the same thought. Look at what the 0 is doing to the Catholic church. I don't think it is far-fetched at all. He said if you couldn't vote biblical values, stay home. If you knew my pastor, you would know that he must feel extremely strongly about this to even mention it.

My church is very diverse, and so I suspect we have a lot of 0 supporters among the AAs. So basically he was saying, without mentioning any names, vote for Romney or stay home.

I truly believe a second Obama term would be devastating to religious (and other) freedom, among other things.

406 Just want to say, another way to help is if you know a SAHM mom with little kids, offer to watch her kids while she votes. She could bring them, but it's so much easier without, esp. if there's a long line.

411 I will be working all day as an election judge Hopefully I will get to kick some UN observers ass to the curb if they try to disrupt our voting process. I know that I cannot qualify for pudding since I will not be directly volunteering for a campaign, but I feel that by being part of the process I can at least be sure the precinct I support is free of fraud and coercion.

God bless all you out there who are manning those phones and driving people. etc. Pray hard Morons.
