URGENT!: Geraldo Rivera Needs Your Help

For he is experiencing a grave, personal tragedy in the wake of the Frankenstorm.

Millions are thirsty, hungry and without heat or electricity. Staten Island and the Jersey shore are damned near unrecognizable.

And this dickhead is whining about his Koi fish. How about helping your neighbors, Geraldo?

(thanks to JWF)

Here's an idea... fuck special gas blends that vary per state, allow gas from MA, PA, etc to come into our area, and allow competition between utilities so we're not relying on the same jackasses to take two weeks to restore power after every god damn storm, while bragging about how many thousands of unionized idiots they've hired (at double pay) to "help" by driving around aimlessly.

As much as I dislike Geraldo I can kind of relate to him on this one. I came home from a 4th of July trip to find my 75 gallon reef tank overheated with around $3k in dead fish and corals. Koi can cost in the tens of thousands of dollars. Besides the money there's a lot of time invested in the hobby.

He's still a dick though. If it was choice between my neighbors having no electricity and my reef tank I'd pick my neighbors in a heart beat.

33: Koi ponds are generally overstocked. The turning water is actually a way of adding oxygen to the water while the electric powered filter removes wasted. Without electricity the filter bacteria will die off which will create a chain reaction ending with the dead fish.

I completely understand why most people don't have one. But when you can write a check for just about anything ya want......don't frickin whine when all of a sudden yer fish pond needs power.

160 Yesterday, I had a talk with the mailroom supervisor at work, who happens to be that rarest of birds - a black conservative. (He had Limbaugh on the radio when I stopped by his office.) We talked about the election. He said fears of blacks rioting if Obama loses are way overblown. He said that even though his relatives and friends have been brainwashed to vote D, they haven't been terribly happy with Obama. They thought great things would happen when he was elected and their situation is no better, it's worse. He doesn't think JEF inspires enough passion in them to create massive rage if he loses. Of course, that's only the perspective of one man. But I hope he's right.

When I see Obama and Warren bumper stickers on cars, I try hard to get ned to them, I love if I we're at a red light. I drive with my left hand and keep right on top of the steering wheel, then I start tapping my middle finger up and down. Woman n on Friday saw it but didn't know what to make of it, she kept staring at me. I do this on way to work in Boston.
There are lots of Scott Brown signs around, I don' see any Warren signs, only bumper stickers. I see no lawn signs for Romney or Obama.
I parked next to a car two weeks ago that had Romney/Ryan rally sign in back near rear windshield. I thought it was great idea, i ordered on and have in my car now.

166 This is why price-gouging is good. Supposed Home Depot has 4 generators in a flood hit area. If they keep the price at the “normal” level, some idiot with a koi pond who happens to get in line first, gets a generator. If you let prices rise, not only will more generators be sent to the area immediately by the price signal, you also have a rationing system based on actual need. See, if the price goes up 10 times, suddenly the koi pond owner decides to let the koi die, while the ice cream warehouse is more than willing to pay top dollar.
Thus the free market signals not only will drag more generators where they are needed, but they also ration limited product in a fairly rational way. Yes, some super rich guy could buy a generator to save his koi over the ice cream warehouse owner, but that will not happen often, and far less often then when its rationed by first come first serve.

A military spokeswoman says Israel complained to the U.N. peacekeeping force in the area after the tanks entered Saturday.

The relatively low-key response suggested Israel did not see the armor as an immediate threat.
