20 RIP, the British Conservative Party:
http://theneedleblog.wordpress.com/

To sum up - an advisor to Maggie Thatcher is implicated in a pedo scandal at no less than forty childrens' homes in North Wales.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-20182106

Not only that, but Derek Laud - a big deal in Tory outreach to blacks and gays - is now accused of being a pedo himself (top story at Needle Blog).

Then, of course, there's Jimmy Savile at the BBC; a Left org, but one which Cameron and Major and Thatcher and Heath all down through the ages did nothing to rein in.

As for the Right's opposition to the Tories? That's the British Freedom Party. Oh yeah. The UK still has Tommy Robinson locked up and is persecuting the BFP and the English Defence League.

The entire government of the United Kingdom is rotten and sick.

104 "vote for revenge" is incredibly creepy. It leads one to imagine other ways to extract revenge if things don't go their way. "revenge" is not a term that should be introduced into the electoral process by anyone especially the leader of the party. I wait in joyful hope for him to be voted out of office and the zombie bodies of past presidents to converge on Bronco Bama.

229 We can keep talking polls and turnout and whatnot. But in the end, only 4 state really matter, Florida, Virginia, Colorado, and Ohio.

Romney is leading by about 5 in Florida, easy win.
Romney is crushing early voting in Colorado, easy win.
Romney is leading in Virginia in all the polls, easy win.

In Ohio Romney is drawing 39,000 on cold nights. Obama can't even fill the same venue McCain filled 4 years ago. Romney is winning Ohio.

That's 275 EVs and the presidency.

Everything else is gravy. And note where they are campaigning in the last few days. WI, IA, MN, and PA, states they don't even need.

237 Ryan and Romney drawing crowds so big they can't get everyone in. Recall Fluke in the parking lot with nobody.

And all the empty spaces at the Obama events.

That's why I know for a fact the polls are trash. I mean mathematically they are useless based on the information we have, but empirically, we can see the problems for the Obama team. They just don't have the backing, the funding, or any hope.

Yeah, the storm helped President Obama because it took the story off him (every time he's the story Obama does very badly) and because it makes everyone long for the nanny state (what if that happened here??? What would we DOOOOOOO?). But its not going to change anything.

Obama loses. We get a new president. Then the real work starts.

Posted by: soothsayer at November 03, 2012 01:45 PM (jUytm)I'm not really immersed in the polls right now (a 4-year old, a new puppy and an impending move out to the farm will do that to you), but I'm optimistic. I wish I could trump the news that "Dems are getting their reliable voters out early, while Reps are focusing on the marginal voters instead" as my scoop, but I think that validates what I'm seeing at the County level. Our GOTV people are flooding the zone with first-time voters and right-leaning independents, and the stalwarts are all chomping at the bit to vote on Tuesday, like God intended us to vote.Plus, the evangelicals/Paulites I know are mostly reluctantly pulling the lever for Romney in order to send Obama packing. I'm sure Gary Johnson or other third party candidates will pull conservatives on election day, but I doubt it's enough to swing the vote. Branstad as Governor is all about quiet competence, and I think he's doing a good job of trying to switch Iowa from Blue to Red. Maybe not deep, dark Red, but at least light-pinkish red. And we really only need 50.1% of the vote anyway. Anything more than that is just showboating.OK, maybe 50.3% to allow for cheating.

Maher fancies himself as a clairvoyant with the ability to read the stereotype of millions and paint them with a broad brush. Fact is, he's just an idiot.

Ohio.

What can I say?
I live here and am tired of being called, polled, pestered, etc. I am tired of reading about the epically bad poll numbers with ridiculous weighting.
The polls cannot be trusted because everybody is playing the propaganda game.
A few clues. Ohio elected a Republican governor in 2010, and a majority of Republicans in both houses of the State Assembly (house and senate). Most of the State-wide officeholders are now Republicans.
The majority of the Congressional caucus from Ohio is Republican.

One senator Republican (Rob Portman), one Democrat (Sherrod Brown) and he is on the way out! Portman is chairman of the Romney Ohio campaign, and is doing a terrific job.
The Romney campaign has mustered a tremendous Get Out The Vote Groundgame in Ohio They will get everyone who wants to vote to the polls. There is a tremendous amount of energy in the Romney Ohio campaign. People in this state are FED UP with Obama. Forget about the noise about the "auto bailout", because a lot of the people that worked for GM, Ford and Chrysler have lost their jobs. Especially in my home town, where all the Delphi plants (parts suppliers to GM) have closed and the jobs all have gone to Mexico or elsewhere.
Honda is bigger in Ohio than Chrysler and Ford now, and Honda is NOT a UAW shop, and does not vote that way.

Romney wins Ohio by at least 175,000 votes out of 5.75 to 6 Million cast. About 2.7-3% victory margin. At least.

323 The "revenge" remark was one of a long string of illuminating flashes into the mindset of the SCOAMF. His entire pre-politics career was in the grievance-mongering industry. Even the classes he taught were premised on the assumption that racist American society is geared to allow certain privileged people to take advantage of the rest (mostly black and brown, of course).

Naturally, he sees those oppressed people as burning for their chance to strike back -- to get revenge against their slavemasters.

This hateful fantasy is so deeply ingrained in Ofuckstick's psyche that no amount of contrary evidence will ever dislodge it.

Failure to accept the consequences of those 'ways', plus the policy that any and all Hispanics are illegals, is why Romney loses now, why whichever Bush or whosoever loses in 2016 to Hillary or an Hispanic ticket (most likely both), and why by time time 2024 rolls around, the RNC's going to be little more than a booking agency for billionaires seeking individualized trash pick up.
