CIA ORDERED TO STAND DOWN DURING BENGHAZI ATTACK;
US SEALs KILLED IN ATTACK DISOBEYED ORDERS IN HEROIC EFFORT TO SAVE STEVENS & SMITH
Fox News has learned from sources who were on the ground in Benghazi that an urgent request from the CIA annex for military back-up during the attack on the U.S. Consulate and subsequent attack several hours later was denied by U.S. officials -- who also told the CIA operators twice to "stand down" rather than help the ambassador's team when shots were heard at approximately 9:40 p.m. in Benghazi on Sept. 11. Former Navy SEAL Tyrone Woods was part of a small team who was at the CIA annex about a mile from the U.S. Consulate where Ambassador Chris Stevens and his team came under attack. When he and others heard the shots fired, they informed their higher-ups at the annex to tell them what they were hearing and requested permission to go to the consulate and help out. They were told to "stand down," according to sources familiar with the exchange. Soon after, they were again told to "stand down." Woods and at least two others ignored those orders and made their way to the Consulate which at that point was on fire. Shots were exchanged. The quick reaction force from the CIA annex evacuated those who remained at the Consulate and Sean Smith, who had been killed in the initial attack. They could not find the ambassador and returned to the CIA annex at about midnight. At that point, they called again for military support and help because they were taking fire at the CIA safe house, or annex. The request was denied. There were no communications problems at the annex, according those present at the compound. The team was in constant radio contact with their headquarters. In fact, at least one member of the team was on the roof of the annex manning a heavy machine gun when mortars were fired at the CIA compound. The security officer had a laser on the target that was firing and repeatedly requested back-up support from a Specter gunship, which is commonly used by U.S. Special Operations forces to provide support to Special Operations teams on the ground involved in intense firefights. The fighting at the CIA annex went on for more than four hours -- enough time for any planes based in Sigonella Air base, just 480 miles away, to arrive. Fox News has also learned that two separate Tier One Special operations forces were told to wait, among them Delta Force operators.I've wondered about the Specter option before. It's the perfect plane for this sort of thing -- it loiters slowly over a target. It's heavily armored (for a plane). It's got huge guns for obliterating ground target. One guy was aiming a laser on a ground target, painting it for a plane to see. To drop a bomb, to attack with very heavy machineguns. But the laser itself is nothing, absolutely harmless. So he sat up there on the roof, risking his life to paint a target with laser light, and no one bothered to send anything to hit that target. Who Gave The Order To Let My Son Die? Woods continues: “Apparently even the State Department had a live stream and was aware of their calls for help. My son wasn’t even there. He was at a safe house about a mile away. He got the distress call; he heard them crying for help; that’s why he and Glen risked their lives to go that extra mile just to take care of the situation. And I’m sure that wasn’t the only one received that distress call—you know, come save our lives … I’m sure that other people in the military, in the State Department, in the White House, received that same call that he would receive. And I’m sure that most military people would jump at the chance … to protect that life [and] not leave anyone behind.”Maybe they should arrest Charles Woods. He's engaging in dangerous speech. Some of the other 'security officers' loaded up some other Embassy personel...from that location...into an armoured vehicle, and made it out of there.

I think the lower level CIA operators are leaking cause they know for certain the chain of command, Patraeus, Dempsey, Panetta, Clapper and the JEF, DO NOT have their back

2. Mitt was probably right to not make Lybia a big deal in the 3rd debate so that this can be digested without it seeming partisan (or as partisan).
3. Who am I kidding, there is a storm of the millenium hitting the east coast. Nothing else matters.
4. I would say that of any portion of the government, the military has the most credibility, but specifically the Navy Seals. Probably not a good idea to piss them off even further. I expect the active seals to be honorable and stay quiet. But the retired ones - nope.

Here's the only kind of sense I can make of it, and it's only a certain kind of sense:
If there was a dumb-show operation to kidnap that ambassador, as a front for opening negotiation on something else (freeing the blind sheikh, for instance), and the tipped-off Islamist militia were told to expect little to no resistance, and
the ex-Seals (remember here, they were working as CIA contractors, which is the same as a spy) weren't in on the joke, and went for it, and
they were ordered to stand down so as not to screw up another operation, under another authority, but god dammit they weren't going to do that, and
it was their resistance that escalated the situation to the killing point;
THEN, to the kind of people who run spook operations, and have different authorities running them against each other without each other's knowledge or co-ordination for fear of leaks might sacrifice them, as a sort of collateral damage.
Happens in The Great Game a lot. When you're doing intelligence work as a civilian, there are certain risks you're assumed to assume, and when one of them blows up people want the kind of answers no one is willing to give. One reason Americans don't like human intelligence operations is that they lend themselves so easily to internal intrigues.
If true, this doesn't get the top dogs off the hook. What would be the purpose of a kidnap set-up? Is there anything that would justify that, that would not also be, essentially, treason? But it would account for the operators being ordered not to interfere, and the secretary disavowing all knowledge, as they used to say.

The botched kidnapping theory makes no sense. Obama wanted Stevens to be kidnapped so he could negotiate some sort of a deal? No way. Even Obama is historically literate enough to know that an incumbent president has no need for a hostage situation in the middle east.
This was pure incompetence, lack of leadership, a desire not to unduly "escalate" the situation, and head-in-the-sand reaction to unpleasant events. They also knew that if significant assets were called in, they would have to explain why prior requests for additional security were denied.
Better (from their perspective) to simply claim this was a spontaneous, unpredictable reaction to a video and explain that no assets were sent in because of the "fog of war," and hope the MFM would allow them to get away with that explanation.

New England, though? They got hit by a tropical storm a year ago that dumped so much rain in Vermont that the entire state was fucked up for a while afterward because it washed out a ton of bridges.
If the storm hits there, the infrastructure isn't set up to handle it and there will be lingering effects through Election Day.

Not only did Obama go to Vegas, he gave a speech to his campaign workers comparing them and their service to them to the 4 men who were murdered in Benghazi.

Just got back from local WalMart where I saw the St Louis (Post?)Dispatch in the checkout line. The front page had pictures of both Akin and McCaskill. Under Akins picture (looked like he was in a meeting of young republicans) said "Akin lives his principles as a conservative Christian who happens to be a politician". Under McCaskill's photo (handing food to someone at a table) it said "McCaskill spends a lot of time trying to convince voters she's one of them.
I don't know who the Post-Dispatch endorsed but that word choice seems to me to favor Akin.

I have to respectfully disagree. Obama's worldview is that America is inherently evil, who's success came from exploiting others who were weaker. He is doing everything in his power to "right the wrongs" of America's past and level the playing field. It's not "fair" that America is the world's lone super power. It's notfair thatAmerica has more money and resourcesthan other countries, especially since we stole, enslavedand murdered our way to the top. He sees his role as an equalizer who will redistribute everything (including military strength) so that we are on par with the rest of the world. Remember, this is a man who gave a campaign speech in 2008 where he said "We can't go around driving our SUV's wherever we want, have our thermostats at 70 degrees, and eat whatever we want; that's just not ok with the rest of the world."
He is a hard leftist, collectivist who harbors a real hatred of the very country he leads.

The more I think about it, this was a product of Obama's "light footprint" philosophy, negligence, getting got caught flat-footed and failing to respond, and coming up with an after-the-fact lie about the video for damage control.
It was all political damage control. Doing the right thing (properly securing the consulate, responding to requests for assistance, properly identifying this as a coordinated terrorist attack) would have been too politically unhelpful and contrary to the narrative that "we've got al-Qaeda on its heels"

Obama is losing in the national polls by 3-5 pts in most results. The only way Romney loses swing states is if the national vote is close, like say a 0.5% lead. If these current poll results hold up, the election will not be close, they call the SWING STATES that name because they mirror the national numbers very well. Ohio, in particular usually adds on 2% to the Republican sample on election day from the national popular vote. That is why Obama won by 4 in OH in 2008 and won nationally by 6.

I don't know the answer, but it could be explained by simple panic and indecision.
Obama has never made a foreign policy decision in real time and/or without running it by his political team. As was noted earlier, his "gutsy call" on Bin Laden was the product of many months of planning, and even then was delayed several times.
Through his prior neglect of the security in the area, he got caught flat-footed, panicked, and couldn't make a decision. Maybe he gave the "stand down" order because he needed more time to focus-group what to do from a political standpoint.

Klein also said that those same sources said that former President Bill Clinton has been “urging” his wife [Hillary] to release official State Department documents that prove she called for additional security at the compound in Libya, which would almost certainly result in President Obama losing the election.

There are 3 basic laser moves: designate, marking/indicating, or locating.
It doesn't sound like they were locating and calling in coordinates (9 lines), it sounds like they were marking the target. Really no point in doing that without talking to the pilot. So either they were not the SEALs and inexperienced guys, trying to scare the bad guys, or there was an aircraft on station.
Additionally, if they were designating then prior coordination with the aircraft is generally necessary, an AC-130 doesn't need target designation, an F-18 or Reaper could use it.

Manpads are near worthless in the dark. They have to visually acquire the target...Strike aircraft are out of the envelope above 10K or so...If they had a ten digit grid coordinate or a laser spot, they have no reason to get in the weeds. Pretty bread and butter op forour guys in my estimation.

The tactical usefulness of a live video feed over the compound would have been worth that drone's weight in gold. The rescue squad could have been directed in real time as to where the bad guys where and even possibly where the mortars were so they could be neutralized.
For the rescue squad to be told to stand down and for them to disobey those orders. That is far far worse. It signals this administration is willing to write people off and not even try. The bad optics for this administration would have been a failed rescue mission. This shows how out of touch these people are with normal people. The American public would have forgiven a quick rescue attempt even if it failed because it would have shown this administration was willing to risk all to safeguard American people.
Instead we have gotten weeks of lies. Senior administration officials lying to grieving families. Obama and his people have told deliberate lies on the world stage including the UN. And as a result another man has been deprived his freedom, the producer of a video which has now been shown not to have ignited this deadly ambush. He still sits in a jail cell and even if he is released there is a good chance someone will try to murder him and his family for that video.

A President of the United States has the sworn duty to allow our military forces anywhere (NYC, Washington DC, Somalia, Benghazi) to respond ASAP to the first official warning and intelligence proving an act of war occurring against America.
Obama is SO STUPID that he expects all Americans to swallow his lies, lie after lie after lie. Benghazi is but another illustration of what "I'm not interested in Victory" means coming from Obama.
From 2000-2008, Americans were counting each and every fallen and wounded person in our Military Service abroad.
The Democrats had made it their point that blacks and bilingual in Spanish minorities were carrying the heaviest enlistment burden in the US Military -- presumably because mean Republicans wouldn't hire qualified minorities in private business. Combined with that are the economic statistics proving that these same minority Americans are the segments of our population MOST DEEPLY suffering the affects of unemployment and our lousy Obama economy. Point being, minorities voting "for" Obama hurt themselves, evidently suffering Stockholm Syndrome mentality.
Then John Kerry announced that only stupid Americans enlist in our Military (calling minorities stupid). Biden just said that the ONLY responsibility which the US Constitutional Government has is to its military veterans; that after Obama/Napolitano mandated surviving military veterans be targeted by the DHS as Enemies of the State. So "taking care of our veterans" has its negative play in real time. Also, whatever "feel good bipartisan" congressional funds are allocated for Veterans Administration benefits always get taken by sticky fingers of those responsible in administering the well being of our returned veterans. The same 75% degree of fiscal corruption applies to government contracts and our military armaments. Goddamned Sticky Fingers leaving America and our military personnel vulnerable to exhaustion.

Why won't Romney assert his
agenda to "restore the US Constitution" that he used to win the primary?

Anyways, this kind of goofy shit appeals to these doofuses. So it is VERY likely that Jug-Ears decided to trade the blind sheik for the by-now-captured Ambassador Stevens. Something this set of clueless fuckwads would see as "subtle" and "masterful" 'cause it would allow him to set an islamofascist enemy of the US free as a fuckin' bird plus buff his "savvy" foreign relations credentials.
So my guess is that this was a setup for the election. Didn't want any shootin' going on - that might have killed a muslim terrorist which might have screwed the deal. Remember - they couldn't find the Ambassador for hours - it was the terrorists who found him and took him ostensibly to the hospital.
If President SCOAMF was communicating to those goat-screwing barbarians - he would have had plenty of reason to order our forces to stand down. After all, votes are more important than the blood of the little people, dont'cha know? Might still be able to pull out the deal, but it woulda been all off if a Spectre had obliterated his friends.

The proof is that after 6 years of insane ranting, liberals went completely silent the moment a Democrat was in office. Not just politicians, but rank and file liberals all took part in this deeply dishonest smear campaign against the commander in chief.
