Dianne Feinstein Fingers
DNI Clapper For False Talking Points; Concedes It Was "Possibly" A Mistake to Claim A YouTube Video Caused a Spontaneous Attack

Possibly?

Possibly?

Possibly, she says.

Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) on Wednesday told the local CBS station in San Francisco that Obama initially called the attack that killed the U.S. ambassador and three Americans an “act of terror” in the days after the Sept. 11 assault on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi. She suggested the administration initially linked the attack to an anti-Islam video based on the assessment of Director of National Intelligence James Clapper.

Clapper — a “very good individual” according to Feinstein — “put out some speaking points on the initial intelligence assessment,” she said. “I think that was possibly a mistake.”

Megyn Kelly was all over this an hour ago.

I think someone needs to report on precisely how such Talking Points get crafted. It is my strong impression that they are negotiated with the President, or the President's top aides.

I believe that because Bush used to have to fight to get things he wanted to say approved by the CIA. All of his speeches were vetted by the CIA, and there were arguments about what he could and could not say.

If a President says something the CIA doesn't approve of, the threat is always that they will leak against the President. Same sort of tactic they use against foreign governments.

And ultimately, when the CIA showed its liberal stripes, they claimed, notoriously, in the 2007 NIE that Iran was not pursuing an atomic bomb, an assessment even Mohammad El-Baradei disagreed with.

They did this because they wanted to check Bush from any strike on Iran. With the CIA dishonestly claiming Iran had no nuke problem, they blocked him from even discussing the matter.

These points get negotiated, and the negotiations involve politics and political favors.

Clapper has already exposed himself as a malleable hack willing to say absurd things Obama wishes him to say.

I want to know precisely on what grounds he approved the claim -- almost certainly pushed by Obama's close aides in the negotiations -- that there had been a riot and a spontaneous protest and that it seemed likely it was linked to the YouTube video.

There was no intelligence supporting this -- yet Clapper gave the go-ahead anyway.

Why?

I think I know the reason -- as a political favor to a flailingly desperate Obama -- but that's just a belief. Let's have some sharp questions, let's have some reportage.

There's an idea.

7 I think the JEF was arming the libyan "rebels" on they sly. Libyan "rebels" were passing the arms to Hamas and Hezbullah, who is now shooting them at Israeli helicopters and troops.

Ambassador Stevens was in Benghazi trying to put the toothpaste back in the tube and get the arms back. And they killed him.

Arming Israel's enemies is why the JEF cannot tell the truth about Benghazi and clung to the video so fiercely. And I believe this was all a Jarret (the Iranian) and Rice production. The JEF did not attend his own security briefings, and I do not think he even read the briefs, news to him.

The reason they wanted to blame the video is that obama has said there is no more war against terror or terrorists and does not even use that word anymore. So any violence has to be because of something else, like a video, or the basis for his whole foreign policy collapses. 62 For all of us who have watched this from the beginning, it is hard to describe how offensive it is that the Obama administration is claiming they identified this as a pre-planned terrorist act from the beginning.

It is not hyperbole to say this is an Orwellian attempt to rewrite history in a deliberate attempt to a) mislead those who may just learn about it and b) give plausible deniability to those who support the President and do not want to have to deal with the moral dilemma their lying/incompetence has forced into the campaign.

I have been following politics closely since 1987 and I have not in my lifetime seen an administration push a narrative that was so demonstrably untrue.

It is a test to our country and out partisan divide to see how we handle it. I hope (but I cannot yet say I trust) that the backlash against this President and the administration will be appropriate..

103 Clapper — a “very good individual” according to Feinstein — “put out some speaking points on the initial intelligence assessment,” she said. “I think that was possibly a mistake.”

And they fingered an American citizen, splashed his name to the whole jihadi world (after they had disgustingly tried to lie and claim he was an Israeli - people forget the frirst, first story about all this) and arrested the guy in the middle of the night to cover barky's ass. The Youtube guy is still suffering the fascist bullshit of Barky and his junta ... but they are going to claim that they had nothing to do with that ... "Ooooooh noooo .... that wasn't connected to our anti-American tirade against free speech ... Noooo Waaaay!!"

Barky and his junta MUST be tried for their many, many serious crimes against America. They not only commit these crimes but then try to blame others and then lie about ever having done all the shit they do. It's beyond repugnant. They are stains on humanity, the pieces of pig-shit.

I want to know precisely on what grounds he approved the claim -- almost certainly pushed by Obama's close aides in the negotiations -- that there had been a riot and a spontaneous protest and that it seemed likely it was linked to the YouTube video.

Here's your answer. You ready?

"Because that's what happened in Egypt and we figured they were connected."

That's all. That's what they'd say. They keep conflating the Egyptian attack -- which, by the way, we knew was going to happen ahead of time -- with what happened in Libya. They are not and have never been the same thing.

164 Is it just me or our the Clinton's now actively working against Obama. Some recent comments by Bill and HRC certainly appear that way. They have to walk a fine line because they have to be the good and loyal soldiers, so they have to give the appearance of supporting Obama. They also are laying the ground work for a potential HRC run in 2016. I'm not even sure the Clinton's know what they will do in 2016, but if the opportunity presented itself, I'm sure they would like to get back in the Oval office. There is only one way to get there. And that requires them to act like the loyal soldiers but secretly undermine Obama.

Yossi Kuperwasser, who directs the Ministry of Strategic Affairs, says "significant" numbers of weapons have been smuggled into the territory from Libya since the fall last year of dictator Moammar Gadhafi. The country is awash in weapons after the eight-month civil war and has weak central authority.

HAMAS is not a Shia group like Hizballah. Hizballah is heavily involved in Syria on the side of their coreligionist Shia and Alawite supporters. Hizballah would want all the MANPADs in Syria they can get to save their own lives. It is interesting the AA stuff just showed up in Syria. Someone made that call. Of course the simple solution is to drop bombs from high altitude, which is already being done. Helos are in serious danger though.

While the TN numbers won't be a praticularly big deal, it looks like in both states the resultsare completelyreversed from 2008. Dem counties had a significantadvantage in early voting (at this point, after first day) and now its just the opposite.Caveats: this is just after one day, and this year's "vote" countis based on registration ID. 197 Maybe yes maybe no. But, this was a TERRORIST ACT. Not an act of terror.

Much as I love to bitch at the regressives for their incessant wordsmithing, I do understand the use of "act of terror," to distinguish such actions from an "act of war." An act of terror may still lead to war, but because of the the nature of the actors -- ideologically groupedendorsers of mayhem versus a standing government -- there needs to be a distinction between the two. An "act of terror" can be carried out by individuals OTHER than organized terrorists. But in Benghazi, of course, since the attack WAS committed by Al Qaeda and affiliated groups, then it was a genuine "terrorist attack," and should have been referred to as such.

I really hope those voters have wised up since 2008. The only jews the Barky administration likes are the ones on his payroll.

In the meantime, Chicago itself is descending into violence, last weekend for a while there was a shooting an hour. The papers are now reporting theDAILY weekend violence totals, rather than giving the results for the whole weekend, because the numbers are so high.

Oh and Cook County (home of Chicago) wants to tax bullets at a nickle per bullet. That's sure to help with the violence.

Michelle Obama said at a campaign fundraiser in New York. "He didn't
place blame. Instead, he got to work, because he was thinking about

taxes for small businesses and for working families, because he believes
that in America, teachers and firefighters should not pay higher tax
rates than millionaires and billionaires."

285 Here is the problem.

Its not just that our people asked for more security and were denied.

Its not just that they outsource security to a company in greaT britiaN.

Its not just that that company outsourced the actual work to libyan locals in some company called Brotherhood of Martyr Towelhead Security Services.

Its no just that they watched the events in real time.

Its not just that there was no actual protest there before or after the even, just an al quadia strike force.

Its not just that the president went to sleep while Muhammad Towelheadabibi was introducing Ambassador Stevens' anus to his little freind minimuhammad.

Its not just that our ambassador was anally raped beaten and strangled to death then dragged through the streets and his corpse was dumped off at the hospital 8-12 hours later.

Its not just that the administration new from day one that it was al quaida but went on to call it a spontaneous demonstration that led to violence.

Its not just that Shllary and that MotherfuckingObama stood next to the coffins of our men when they arrived and continued to blame the video in speeches.

Its not just that they sent Ambassador Susan Sucksobamacocklikewhiteon Rice out to all the talk shows five days after the event and had her continue to claim that it was a SPONTANEOUS RESPONSE to a Disgusting Internet Video.

Its not just that they spent 70K to make a commercial where Hillary sucked some islamicock and appologized to the arab world for the video and they ran it out there.

Its not just that MotherfuckingObama went on the view and continued to say it was the video and they didnt know it was al quaida.

Its not just that that Mother Fucking Cock Sucking America Hating Apologist Piece Of Fucking Dog Shit Obama went in front of the United Nations and in a speech continued to blame the MOTHER FUCKING VIDEO SIX GOD DAMN TIMES for the violence and never once called Behngazi or however you spell that fucking pit in the middle of the desert a Terrorist Attack.

Its not just the fact that this stupid college grad administration with no fucking real world experience has seen their entire foreign policy blow up in their faces and they dont want to admit that infact, arabs hate obama just as much as bush and the mother fucking ONE is just a speech and didnt really change a god damn thing.

WHAT IT FUCKING IS IS THAT THIS STUTTERING CLUSTERFUCK OF A MISERABLE FAILURE JUST LIED TO AMERICAN PEOPLE IN A DEBATE WATCHED BY 70 MILLION PEOPLE AND SAID THAT HE IN FACT DID CALL IT AN ACT OF TERROR ON DAY ONE....AND THAT WE ARE SUPPOSED TO SUCK HIS FUCING COCK AND PRETEND DAY 2 THROUGH MOTHER FUCKING DAY 15 NEVER FUCKING HAPPENED!

You know what?

Arab Spring fallout: More sophisticated weapons in Gaza
By Talal Abu Rahman and Sara Sidner
updated 6:06 AM EDT, Thu October 18, 2012

Jerusalem (CNN) -- Militant sources in Gaza tell CNN that a shoulder-launched anti-aircraft missile was used to try to shoot down an Israeli helicopter flying east of Gaza last week.
It is significant because it is the first time a weapon of this type has been used against an Israeli aircraft, though the missile did not manage to hit its target. Hamas, which controls Gaza, has not commented on the incident.
The weapon is said to be a Strela SA-7 and was smuggled in from the Sinai desert but originally came from Libya, according to a source in Gaza.
Libya has been grappling with a huge number of unaccounted for weaponry since the revolution that toppled its dictator, Moammar Gadhafi, and left everything from mines and mortars to anti-aircraft missiles in the hands of its citizenry. No group has taken responsibility for firing the surface-to-air missile from Gaza.

So far the Israeli military has declined comment and has not publicly acknowledged the provocation.
Speaking on the condition of anonymity, a senior Israeli Army official told CNN there has been a significant change in the kind of weaponry being used by militant groups in Gaza since the Arab Spring. The weapons are more powerful and sophisticated than have been used in times past.
In the past week, there has been an increase in rocket attacks from Gaza into Israel and subsequent air strikes by Israel on targets in Gaza.

290 Do the people at the CIA who put together the 2007 NIE still have government jobs? If so, why?

Posted by: Socratease at October 18, 2012 04:42 PM (iVBDH)

291 Plausable deniability. Used to be the basis of any CIA or covert mislead. IF the CIA gave the movie trailer and a protest gone wrong to the WH and the WH ran with it, then:
(1) CIA needs to read John le Carré to see how this spy business works
(2) CIA needs to check Drudge since it was posting pictures of the dead Ambassador being dragged through the streetsat almost the same momentHillary was telling us he was carried to the hospital by good Syrians.
(3) The Ambassador went missing for 8 hours was all over the internet in less than 24 hours, as were the details of the attack.
(4) Telling a lie so easily discerned and disproven makes no sense unless it's a trap for the liar and if said liar is a known dullard, then there you go.
(5) Hillary saved her future by taking the blame. Bill just threw Obama under the bus today. Plots within plots. Can't wait for Obama's staff to start writing their memoirs.

I blame Bush!

As in:

* DNI? WTF? Of all the stupid responses to 9/11 (actually most were good responses, I'm just using that phrase for emphasis), the "reorganization" of intel was the dumbest. There was no structural problem that led to 9/11. That is, outside how the CIA did business, and of course the "Chinese wall" that the infamous Jamie Gorelick pioneered. So there shouldn't be a "DNI" in any case - just ridiculous.

*Bush utterly failed WRT CIA. He kept George after 9/11. Inexcusable - inasmuch as George presided over almost the entire Al Qaeda war against the US, and utterly failed to do much about it (Bob Baer always has kind words for George, I think because George prevented some of the insane nonsense that some WH types had in mind for Baer - but read Baer's first book and try not to let your jaw hit the table). Good guy, claims his "hair was on fire" in August 2001 - but so what? The CIA was literally invented to prevent EXACTLY what happened on 9/11. And while Clinton was the buffoon who was most accountable for the overall failure against AQ prior to 9/11, the Agency's leadership surely deserved the naval ship captain's type of accountability after that mega-disaster.

* Bush's failure to 1) turn the universe upside-down to expose and prosecute the felonious scum who revealed the two surveillance programs 2) say "enough is enough" with the absurd Iran NIE 3) vigorously respond, via proxies, to the nonsense that was regular fare in the "press" once Iraq was on the table (remember such gems as "fighting the enemy will only inspire more to join"?).

Bush had two giganticfailures on institutional crises (which had developed over many years). He failed to put the intel community and its senior careerists in their place - which in some cases includedSuperMax for 30 years-to-life - and he failed to acknowledge and do his constitutional duty when the SCOTUS finally completely over-reached and usurped the treaty power in the Hamdan decision (Kennedy's ludicrous rewriting of the Geneva Conventions and post-hoc unilateral re-negotiation of same on behalf of the US).

Socratease, exactly.

And you reminded me that, back when CIA consistently produced suspect results on a key issue area, there was push-back, even from Congress. Take Soviet missile development. The "Team B" exercise was precisely a response to what appeared to many to be a fixed and unreasonable unwillingness by the CIA to re-evaluate its assessments.

The clandestine services are filled with great people doing sometimes amazing work (see drone strike targeting - nothing short of spectacular the way individual targets can be found and engaged the way it's been happening, esp. in Af/Pak). The support branches and analytical section also has many great people doing great work. But it's pretty obvious that at senior levels there have been many people utterly lacking the intellect and character for this important work - the result is the endless string of nonsensical comments to the press on the GWOT and Iraq under Bush, and things such as the Iran NIE.

294 weft-cut loop @ 97:
""Jarrett was born in Shiraz, Iran to American parents James E. Bowman and Barbara Taylor Bowman"

If she's Iranian, Mitt Romney's Mexican."
--------------------------------------------------------
WRONG.
Mitt Romney was born in the U.S.
It was his dad, George Romney, who was born in Mexico.
