JOE BIDEN FLAT-OUT LIED ABOUT HIS VOTES ON THE WARS IN AFGHANISTAN AND IRAQ

When you're a buffoon, your brain is stupid enough to believe anything you tell it.

"Trust me," Joey Chompers implored voters. Look at our words; look at our records.

"Trust your instincts," Joey Chompers said.

Video of the lie at the Free Beacon. The below is from their story:

“By the way, they talk about this great recession like it fell out of the sky–like, ‘Oh my goodness, where did it come from?’” Biden said. “It came from this man voting to put two wars on a credit card, at the same time, put a prescription drug plan on the credit card, a trillion dollar tax cut for the very wealthy.”

“I was there, I voted against them,” Biden continued. “I said, no, we can’t afford that.”

Then Sen. Biden voted for the Afghanistan resolution on Sept. 14, 2001 which authorized “the use of United States Armed Forces against those responsible for the recent attacks launched against the United States.”

And on Oct. 11, 2002, Biden voted for a resolution authorizing unilateral military action in Iraq, according to the Washington Post.

The one thing they told this drunken buffoon not to do is to spin some grandly self-serving lie about an important issue which could be easily disproven.

He did exactly that.

WaPo Fact Check: Shockingly, they find than Biden lied a lot (though they don't do that "Pants of Fire" stuff) and Ryan's "mistatements," to the extent they exist, seem pretty debatable.

These two countries are big foriegn policy challenges right now. It would be helpful to know their relative size both for military reasons and to showAmerican leadersunderstand basic geography. It also shows a bit of respect to the citizens of those countries that look to our government for help in solving these difficult situations.

I had never even heard anyone try to make that argument before. How any government debt (even allowing them this idiocy, though it's not true) causes people to default on their mortgages and kills the housing market (while big banks don't take stagnation in housing prices, or downturns, into their risk analysis - even though we had just had a real estate slump not 15 years before) is a whole new foray into lunacy.

100 We need to fact-check because the MFM won't.

Lies:

Voted against / voted for

Listened to Ryan list 5 things, immediately say he didn't answer (did he do that twice?)

Distortions:

Repeated false assertions about Ryan/Romny plans

Blaming recession on wars, esp. when deficit falling until 2006 - Dems took over both houses in 2007.

Just Plain Dumb:

Size of Syria
Claiming he didn't get enough time, never shut up.

...

There are many more, I didn't take notes.

nuclear weapon is no big deal, because "they do not have a weapon to put
it in." Or was it 'Iran
does not have something to put it in.'Joe Biden said that TWICE in the debate.

Biden said just because Iran has a nuclear bomb, it is no
threat. That makes no sense at all. I mean really, how would they get it to the target?

Those Iranian idiots would never think of using a Gulfstream
Jet or even a large passenger airliner. Or a Cargo Container on a ship. Or a
trawler or a speed boat. Or an all wheel drive truck through a desert. They are
too dumb, a simple delivery system is too complex for someone that has built a
nuclear weapon. No wonder they do not take Iran seriously.

Are the democrats that briefed Biden that FUCKING STUPID???

Remember Al Qaeda did not have a delivery system on 9/11/2001 either.

Biden Insinuates He Didn't Vote for Afghanistan, Iraq Wars
10:35 PM, OCT 11, 2012 • BY MICHAEL WARREN

... Vice President Joe Biden criticized Congressman Paul Ryan for voting to "put two wars"--those in Afghanistan and Iraq--"on a credit card." But as the Washington Free Beacon points out, Biden's suggestion that he didn't vote for those wars is simply false:

This is a measure of how big of a lie the Dems can get away with.

There are dozens, if not hundreds, of records of these votes.

And yet he just claimed he voted no.

This should disqualify him from office. How can you even attempt a lie so blatant?

He's either an incredibly evil liar -- which should disqualify him -- or he's a brain-damaged idiot who honest cannot remember his two most high profile votes in his entire career.

Biden said intelligence told the administration the Benghazi attack was over a video.

Further, Biden said enriched uranium is sort of a meh step, because you need to a bomb to put it into. But it is by far the hardest step, and Iran has lots of engineering expertise.

Also, Biden said the people on the ground in Libya didn't tell the administration they needed more security.

Was he not briefed on the testimony to the contrary by all 4 witnesses at Issa's recent committee hearing?

Posts, please.

Also a good response to that was "if you didn't have as much money as you wanted to spend on security, why did you A) buy electric cars for Vienna and B) ignore pleas for help and rescue by the Ambassador and others in Libya, you sick heartless bastard."

NO ONE has tried to claim that government spending of any sort caused the credit crisis. We all know what did cause it but the leftists try to claim that Bush and Co. were just as much to blame with letting Freddie and Fannie go wild, tacking onto that argument demonization of Wall Street and derivatives (which were essentially forced on everyone because Fannie and Freddie needed mechanisms to keep the bad paper flowing through so they could conintue to buy up the sub-sub-prime quota paper from local orginators to force them to originate more shitty paper).

No, I believe that Slow Joe is the first person to try to blame any sort of government spending for the credit crisis.

If Obama is re-elected, I am building a permanent fallout shelter. There will be a nuclear exchange before 2017 with these clowns in office. Someone will miscalculate the other guys response, or think they have plausible deniability. Someone in Iran, Pakistan, N Korea, or the older nuclear powers India, China, GB, France, US, Israel, or possibly the newer nuclear powers of Saudia Arabia, Egypt, Taiwan, S Korea, or Japan will use a nuke. And there will be a reply, and then someone else will get involved; and then...

I am over 20 miles from a major city, and 5 miles from the closest thing that could be a target. And there is the reason I picked this location.

256 237....Ryan may not have wanted to go the bastard route.

And it's probably good that he didn't.

I would've loved to see Ryan call him out...repeatedly...on his lies.
But then, it would've looked like he was 'being upity and mean' to poor old Joe.

But Ryan can address these things in stump speeches.
It will make the Dems pull their hair out if he does....but that would just increase the coverage of it.
Which would be good.

257 "The one thing they told this drunken buffoon not to do is to spin some
grandly self-serving lie about an important issue which could be easily
disproven."

Why would they have told him not to do that?

He did precisely that in 2008 in his debate with Palin, and he got away clean.

Remember how he said he and Barky had weighed in with important policy advice after the U.S. and the French had "kicked Hezbollah out of Lebanon"?

Of course, no such thing has ever happened in this space-time continuum. It's hallucinatory alternate-universe nonsense voiced in tones of absolute sneering conviction.

But he got away with it. Despite it being far more glaring a lie than the item Ace quotes. Biden could claim the item Ace quotes as having simply been infelicitous wording, whereas the Lebanon lie was far more definite.

There are other examples that could be easily quoted. For instance, Biden denying flatly in '08 that Barky had said he would meet Achmedinijad without preconditions. A complete lie. Never paid any price for it.

Having the Palace Guard Media on one's side means having a license to lie right there in public. Biden knows that and he uses that license to the broadest and deepest extent possible.

306 From some generic answer site (just for the general description of events):

The initial attempt was a tossed bomb which was deflected by the Archduke and left the royals uninjured. After the bungled attempt, the vehicle driver made a wrong turn and drove past a deli where one of the conspirators (Gavrillo Princip) had gone after the bungled attempt. Gavrillo Princip was an expert marksman and was armed with a .22 Browning Pistol and fired two rounds killing each of his targets

My mistake that Princip had bungled the first attempt, but my defense fo the point that he "stumbled" onto them still stands.

Oh, the usual thing comes to mind, but is kind of a waste. Newsletters, local cable buys, other cable buys. Mostly not worth considering. Billboards for some reason seem to have a lower cost.

Next level is O'Keefe operations on *the press*, he did a clumsy one that backfired, but there is dirt on a lot of reporters. I know some about the locals I got coincidentally but most of it is out of date. Use PI methods.

Also putting *thoughtful* and subtle messages in places outside the dextrosphere. Not trolling, not being an ass like trolls, just trying to push things a *little* bit instead of trying to convert.

A few people have been "pranking" reporters with fake stories, that's not ethical, but if you were to feed stories that they don't like to cover with a "frame" that makes them think it will help them, that's at least a little better than just planting fakes.

Like a few people have started amateur training camps teaching people how to deal with "community organizing" or Delphi Method control tactics, the GOP or someone needs to work up some training on how to handle the press - and info sheets on media outlets and reporters - what they've done, who they take money from or give money to, what their foibles or lies are, etc. Make that info available to people who go to the press.

The GOP has a higher percentage of people who hate politics and/or come from outside government (still too many lawyers), so we have a shocking number of people who fall for obvious ploys.

There's more, but that's a start.

WW2 was awesome. Lots of action. It got very dark at times with some twisted occult shit, so I wouldn't recommend it for kids, but it was fucking gripping. Much better bad guys than WW1.

What sucks is the author never got around to WW3. Been decades now and nothing. He got bored and went off and wrote some more spy-thriller type shit, called it Cold War, I think. Which was alright and set in the same universe as WW1 and WW2. But nothing happened. Lots of intrigue, but very little action compared to WW1 and WW2.

Well, like Dune, the author died, so his son took over writing the rest..

First there was the edgy but inconclusive Cold War..

Then much weaker ones like.

The War on Poverty, then The War on Drugs..

Lately I think the grandson is writing them, cause they got really weak with the War on Christmas, and the latest War on Women..

EH, still the 2nd book was the best, I agree..

Some people were talking about starting a reporter database. I think you touched on that a bit. What are their known biases, relationships, etc. I think even something as simple as info on their background is helpful. Is this person completely retarded on chemistry or physics? Helpful to know when you are discussing nuclear power. Do they understand what stocks are and what bonds are? It is amazing how many "smart people" have no clue, but they are supposed to do a story on banking and the mortgage failures. Is this person a raving environmentalist? Are they a PETA supporter?

Although I can see the headlines about "enemies lists" and "secret files," the politicians should have this kind of background available to them before they meet the reporters. It would help them plan for ambush reporting and can be used make sure the reporter actually gets an accurate story. Here let me spell this out for you. No, it is quality assurance, not insurance.

I can see this kind of crap with the hometown paper and their stories on our broke ass hospital, which is being run by either saints or selfish jerks depending on the reporting.

factual mistake.

So F-J's supposed insouciance about a bomb being thrown at him

Fact: F-J hadn't been subject to an attack against his life since the 1850's.

So: Prinzip
didn't "stumble" upon Ferdinand and his wife, as he was part of a plot

I thought WW3 was what happened from 1945-1992 or so. The defeat and roll back in places of the Communists. China, Warsaw Pact, Korea, Congo, Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam, Angola, Cuba, etc.

Some peoplethink WW 4 started in about 1960-68 with the PLO, Black September, etc. Although some people may class this as part of WW3, since many of the players worked for the KGB and the like.

I think WW4 started in Iran in 1979 with the Ayatollah as an Islamic movement, and a movement not tied to communism, marxism, or capitalism. Then add in the mujaheddin after the Russian Afghan conflict of 1979-1989, the Sunni Islamic radicalism overtook the Arab Nationalism of Nasser and all in the mid-east. And WW4 is still going on, whether Obama realizes it or not.

I think Ryan missd an excellent opportunity to gig Biden on intelligence.

Biden admitted a failure in intelligenge to readily assaess the attack in Benghazi to terrorism rather than mob violence. Yet later in the debate the subject shifted toIran's ability to make neuclear weapon. Biden's posision was that the current intelligenge assessment was that Iran could not turn their inventory of fissile uranium into bombs.

Ryan could have had a game-changing comment about whethet the same intelligenge community is resposible for this assessment as for the Benghazi non-terrorist assessment for the events that transpired there.

Um, you do remember this was the Vice Presidential debate? And that "Vice President" is Founding Fatherese for "beta male"?

I actively DON'T WANT a domineering swagger in my Vice President. Cheney was Death Star, yes, but his mastery was more the click of iron nails on the desk, not the sneering, cackling bluster that SloJo just belched forth.

And Ryan, by dampening down, threw Biden's disgusting performance into highest relief. If he had fought back, even if he had managed to stuff a sock between Joe's grinning dentalwork, then it would just come off as a schoolyard scrap. We may have more pleased with how Ryan handled himself, he might have "won", but at the same time -- Biden wouldn't have been seen as "losing it" so badly.

And those who lose it, have lost.

Meanwhile the scene painted is: Romney the masterer, a President. Ryan the disciplined, a Vice-President. The order as it should be. Not the perverse flipping shown by the Democrat team: a passive Pres, an out-of-control Veep.

And you have to demonstrate discipline before you can achieve mastery. That can be learned in four years.

Who else do they have? Aside from Hillary, who is damaged goods at this point, they really don't have many other people.

My prediction? Gavin Newsom will be on the Dem ticket in 2016. He is the pro-Gay marriage Lt. Gov. of California (and former San Fransisco mayor).

Rumor is that after she gets re-elected, Sen. Feinstein will resign, and Gov. Moonbeam will appoint Newsom to the Senate seat. After winning the special election in '14, he'll be on his way to the Dem ticket. He's young and photogenic (though thoroughly evil), and has that "up and comer" vibes.

Lie in the face of facts, then scream at and denigrate your opponent. By that metric, he definitely "won" the debate, which with Martha Ratsass' participation was intended to be a public execution of Ryan.

The granny-off-the-cliff meme has been exploded, Ryan came across as likable, smart, serious and PRESIDENTIAL.

394 The wife was all down on Ryan's performance last night until we
discussed that you really cannot argue with a lying idiot. Biden came
across as arrogant, condescending, rude, and small. In contrast, because
Ryan came across as calm, pleasant, well-mannered, sharp, respectful (of
Biden and the moderator), and trustworthy, I felt he scored more points
with undecideds than the angry drunk, Biden.

For anyone who
did not already know that Biden was a lying idiot, the debate may help
them realize this. It is likely that each party's base is largely
solidified, however. What it will help are those independents who style
themselves as thinking independents in the determination of who they
would be most comfortable with one heartbeat away from the nuclear
launch codes. That is probably the biggest concern, aside from policy
differences. Ryan provided the face of a calm collected man that cares
deeply about the country's problems. Biden? The partisan hack.

In
that context, I think Ryan did spectacularly well against the childish
onslaughts by the lying idiot, and he scored a few zingers about Obama's broken promises, etc.

Bout the only thing I would have
like to see him do better on was the abortion questioning. Rather than
set it up in on the dems' terms of defending ideals on life and choice, I
would have preferred he answer that it is not the job of the executive
to make law, but to enforce law as enacted by the people's elected
representatives. (Empower the people.) The job of the executive includes nominating justices,
and points could have been gained here by emphasizing principles of conservatism in the selection of judges and the administration of justice. (It was in fact a conservative appointed justice that cast the deciding vote on Obamacare.) There could also have been
points scored with those that believe that, whatever abortions rights
there are, the federal taxpayer should not fund it, as well points scored with
appeals to states' rights approach on abortion regulation and funding.
Because, whatever right exists, the federal government has no obligation
to spend money to provide the ability to exercise that right. (Where's
my gun and bible money, Obama?) We have to stop trying to win these
arguments the left pose, because this only plays right into their campaign
strategies (war on womenz, etc.).

395 Haven't read all the comments, yet. Let's not forget the Obamacare lie that Biden told. It eludes me at the moment, but the wife and I were WTF eleventy!!!

Posted by: Flounder at October 12, 2012 06:16 AM (Kkt/i)

396 The wife is somewhat apolitical but she said she wanted to bash Biden in the face for how rude he was. Ryan was impressive in his ability to keep his cool and not be distracted by the schoolyard bullying tactics of slow jo.

I think the 0bama world tour and precedency is over, and it's time those two started packing.

397 Upon sleeping for a few hours, and reflecting on the debate:

Obama campaign is in panic mode. Disgraceful that the VP of the US would behave like that in front of the whole world live on national TV. While Ryan's subdued demeanor (on instructions from Romney, I assume) prevented him from really challenging Biden and giving us the red meat response we really wanted, the takeaway from the debate is going to knock a few points off Team Obama.

Most people did see the debate, and all they will see are the clips of Biden Unhinged Yet another disaster for the Dems.

398 Biden was rude and said it isn't a big deal if Iran gets a nuke.

His performance was worse than Obama's. Obama came off as more likeable.

402 @132 re: Iran enriching uranium is not a concern, because Iran does not have a weapon to put it in.

I was eyerolling that, too. He's an idiot. How the F do you think you get a weapon? You start by enriching uranium beyond the point at which it is useful as an energy source. Then you test out and perfect your weapon designs (which they likely already have from the Norks or Pakis). The delivery system is almost immaterial at any point in the process of stopping the development of a nuclear device.

God, I hate that guy with the heat of a thousand suns.

OSLO, Norway — The European Union has been awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for its efforts to promote peace and democracy in Europe, in the midst of the union's biggest crisis since its creation in the 1950s.

The Norwegian prize committee said the EU received the award for six decades of contributions "to the advancement of peace and reconciliation, democracy and human rights in Europe.

408 I just figured it out: Biden looked like a Langolier.

Posted by: TANSTAAFL at October 12, 2012 07:06 AM (52QEX)

409 I would like to report that my moderate GOP sister and my democrat (but voting for Romney) daughter were outraged at Biden's behavior. My daughter said that she feels like Biden, whom she has found more likable than Obama, was coached to do this type of behavior and it was rude and disrespectful.

Posted by: Miss Marple at October 12, 2012 07:11 AM (GoIUi)

410 Biden also mentioned Scalia. Didn't Biden vote for him?

Posted by: Isophorone at October 12, 2012 07:37 AM (m/Ana)

411 No one will ever remember what was said. The only thing that will be recalled is what an asshole Joe Biden is.

Posted by: Libra at October 12, 2012 07:39 AM (kd8U8)

412 My husband watched the debate for me... as much as I lurve Paul Ryan, my blood pressure was skyrocketing at that senile old huckster and his bullshit mugging for the camera and I had to go calm myself by hand-washing the dinner dishes in classic-scented Ivory detergent. It's therapeutic.

Posted by: Gem at October 12, 2012 07:46 AM (zw+pb)

413 "I bet ryan was like, "did he?" But Ryan was like, nah I must be wrong, he wouldn't lie like that."

Watch the debate again; Ryan starts to say something that sounded like you voted or the like, but he got shouted down between Biden and Raddatz, then he moved on. It sounded like he -wanted- to go there, but by the time he got to speak, he'd lost the initiative. This happened frequently as Ryan was getting going, then Biden and the moderator knocked him off message followed by Raddatz demanding we move on. Another example is when he was listing the green jobs failures.

Biden referred to his past experience...
well, last night he forgot to bring it! He gave us a headache. I have never
seen anything executed so unprofessionally as I did during this debate; and if
this is an example of how he would represent the United States of America to
the world, then we are in deep trouble. As an American citizen I knew more than
he did which tells me he doesn’t have a clue or he’s just a liar. First, he
lied about his vote against Afgan war resolution... on Oct 11, 2002 Biden voted
for a resolution authorizing unilateral military action in Iraq. Second, it
does concern me that he was uninformed about the “REQUESTS” sent to the DOS for
additional Libya security for the embassy. This is serious ... if the president
and vice-president didn't know the “REQUESTS” for more security from Dec 11,
2011 through Jul 2012... Then "who the hell is running this country?”
Also, he showed what a small man he is… for God sakes… he is the VP and
throwing the Intel community and DOS under the bus… how degrading. Doesn’t he
have any concern for his son who is now serving our country? Finally, Biden's
annoying laughter during the Iran nuclear discussions by Mr. Ryan angered me
more than anything else... he disgusted me. I am convinced this administration
does not respect America or the people of this great country and does not take
the serious the danger of our enemies around the world. The people are and have
been lied to…. Continuously!
