Correction: The plane was flying from Russia to Syria and is not suspected of ferrying weapons out of Syria, but into Syria. Apologies. I completely misheard this story on Fox and conflated it with the troop movements to Jordan. When I looked up the story in print, I thought I understood it from the misheard TV report. ... Now I know what you're thinking, with regard to Iraq. And I'm thinking that too. There's an article by a guy whose name I forget -- I believe he was a Greek, and I believe he was formerly a Communist agent, and I believe he wrote on National Review for a time. And I can't quite remember what he said, but he asserted that Russia had plans with all of its satrapies to evacuate the Nasty Stuff out upon collapse of the regime they'd been helping. Hopefully you'll remember. As mentioned earlier, US troops are now in Jordan, patrolling the border, looking for cross-border movement of chemical weapons stocks.Comments

Jordan is about the only moderate arab government Obama hasNOT pissed on yet. They have been friendly to the US for a long time. The previous Queen was a US citizen IIRC. Theyalso kicked the palestinians asses in 1970, 'black September' and drove them out of Jordan.
I really wish we had a couple of mechanized brigades in Iraq. That would be mighty useful optionwhen Syria falls completely apart. But since we do not, I pray we stay out of Syria. Aside from that, how many wedding bands have any inscriptions on the outside, at all? Not in the Western world, at least. We tend to have, as said, wedding "bands", maybe with internal inscriptions, but that's about it. The intricacy and doo-dads usually go on the engagement ring.
I'm really surprised that no one else has picked the story up. The hate for WND in the right blogosphere is really out of control. This is a shame because Joseph Farah, being a Christian arab, has long been one of the main sources of good information about the islamic arab world and what happens there with respect to Christian arabs - and just how much of a serious threat the islamic world is to everyone. WND is a good site. Just because they do some very Christian and Biblical stuff every so often too many conservative bloggers have tried to shun them. And the fact that WND did real investigations of Barky's past and eligibility issue really turned off most of the "conservative" blogosphere. They just wouldn't stand for any of that talk ...

There was a story about a large terrorist bomb found in Amman Jordan before it blew in 2004(?). The bomb contained nerve gases supposedly from Iraqi stocks smuggled into Syria and then Jordan.

And Russia seems to be taking a role as the guarantor of Orthodoxy abroad. They did the same agitations amongst the Armenians in the 1800s. They are also big on supporting the Serbs.

However, these reports were from sources like DEBKA so reliability is questionable.

Russia has been vetoing the US and other western powers for years at the UN whenever we tried to take action against dictators or other ethinic cleansers.
They did it in Yugoslavia in 1999. That left NATO and Bill friggin Clinton of all people to go in and stop the ethnic cleansing.
They did it in Iraq for years preventing an effective sanctions model and ultimately leading us to war. They provided weapons through Iran to Iraq.
They did it in Libya dragging out that conflict longer than it need it to
They are doing it in Iran as we speak and are enabling Iran to sell some oil and have some currency coming in.
And they are doing it in Syria.
Russia hates Islamic terrorists as much as we do but they will also do whatever they can to fuck us up. Everyone here understands that Islamic terrorists are a danger to us but going back decades there has always been some tool the Russians have used to fuck with us without being directly involved. Whether it was Cuba or Vietnam or terrorists in Central American one thing has always been constant, Russia at the controls.

I am not text searching everytime some schmuck refuses to paste what he's addressing. If it's not within a couple of wheels above the post I'm not bothering with it. This way, if someone wants to have a more "private" discussion with someone they can harass each other with nothing but comment numbers and no one else will be bothered.
It's just basic decency in conversation - blog conversation. I'm not saying that someone has to paste stuff every single time, but most of the time they should think about others who are reading their stuff. Otherwise, many people should just ignore them.
