Obama: After An Unflinching Analysis Of The Debate, I Have Come To A Difficult Conclusion It Grieves Me Deeply To Confess: I Was Too Polite

Your honor, let me explain why I wound up all up in that 15 year old runaway's business: I was too much the gentleman to turn her aside. What would that have done to her self-esteem?

I don't have to go into detail about why the CritiBrag -- the claim of self-criticism which, oddly enough, winds up being a brag on one's virtue -- is kinda sorta complete 100% bullshit. Every time you've told a prospective employer that your "greatest failing" was that you "are too details-oriented" and "can't learn to separate myself from my work" you've deployed the CritiBrag.

And your interviewer rolled his eyes. If not his visible ones, then internal one called the pineal gland.

So, Obama's searching probe into his failings has concluded thus: Romney lied, and I was just too gallant to say so.

ďWell, two things. I mean, you know, the debate, I think itís fair to say I was just too polite, because itís hard to sometimes just keep on saying and what youíre saying isnít true. It gets repetitive."

Goodness knows, Obama avoids being repetitive at all costs.

"The good news is, is thatís just the first one. Governor Romney put forward a whole bunch of stuff that either involved him running away from positions that he had taken or doubling down on things like Medicare vouchers that are going to hurt him long term. And, you know, I think itís fair to say that we will see a little more activity at the next one,Ē President Obama said on this morningís broadcast of Tom Joyner Morning Show on the radio.

To sneak some poll stuff into this (and why shouldn't we?), Romney is up 1 point in the RCP average, and if you drop out the ancient CBS poll (pre-debate), that rises to +2.5.

At least @philipaklein says so. I don't do math.

"Paul Ryan is an inside Washington guy, smart and wonky. He knows the budget better than anybody," said Granholm.
Biden is likely to press Ryan to

any opportunity to tie Romney to a House Republican budget written by
Ryan. Democrats say the GOP budget contains severe spending cuts
unacceptable to most voters."

124 I think another partial explanation for the Barackolypse concerns his sparring partner. John Fucking Kerry was playing the role of Romney in the debate preparation. What does JFK know about conservatives? What does any progressive know about conservatives? They have painted a cartoonish caricature of us in their minds and imagine themselves winning. As on many topics, they are completely out of touch with reality when it comes to understanding conservatives.

I imagine the debate preparation went something like this:

Kerry as Romney: I'm bitter and clinging to my guns and funny underwear religion because your economic plan hasn't worked yet.

Obama: Bush screwed the economy up so bad that I need another four years to fix it and then, boy, you're going to be farting through silk funny underwear. Point: Obama.

155 You actually have to drop both the CNN (not CBS) and Politico polls to get +2.5 for Romney. The latter poll ran 10/1 to 10/4, so it had the potential to pick up some post-debate bounce, but it's uncertain how much of the polling was already done by debate night. Dropping both leaves you with polls that started on or after 10/4.

Mitt almost got the finger at the side of the face routine (but Mitt's not a Jew). If PrezZero's serious (and that may not be the right word, since they're throwing everything including spitballs to see if they can change the bottom line that "Obama, he suck"), it is a psychopathology: the idea that no one can disagree without hurting feelings.

Remember how snotty Al Gore was in the first debate with W? He caught a ton of flak for that, so in the second debate his people told him he needed to be more civil and he came off as a big sissy. He couldn't be civil because it's not in his personality. Same with Jugears, he's going to try to be all aggressive and stuff and he's going to fail miserably because that's not who he is. Look how quick he was to attack Romney in the campaign appearances the next day when Romney wasn't around. Look how easily he gave Hillary and Palin the scratching the nose bird in 2008. Yet when he is confronted in person he rolls over, such as when Chavez laid into him at the OAS meeting or when Putin told him how things were going to be. He isn't capable of attacking Romney in a firm and assertive manner because he's a big pussy and it's going to end up making him look even worse.

That's the danger of talking points and propaganda. Talk to a liberal--not a batshit crazy socialist fringe type, but a typical left-leaning Democrat. They honestly believe Romney outright lied during the debate. They also believe the private sector is doing just fine, thanks, in spite of all evidence to the contrary. In addition, they believe President Obama is brilliant, the smartest since Jefferson, and that the Benghazi incident was a direct result of a YouTube faux trailer video, and further, that the greatest obstacle to peace in the Middle East is the obstinance of the Israelis. The mullahs of Iran don't really mean it when they say they're going to wipe Israel off the map. Man-made global warming is real. Obamacare saves money. Raising taxes in a depressed economy is a great idea. America is racist. America is sexist. Taxes are investments. Fracking is dangerous. Keynesian economics work, damn it.

Conservatives are more reality based:for the most part, our ideas are grounded in fact and built on reason. And the reason for that, I think, is that most of us believe in objective truth. There is no 'your truth' or 'my truth', and while perceptions may influence how far or how closely we come to discerning the truth, there is a right and a wrong way to perceive a given set of facts.

You took your father's hard dick with grace and dignity. And now, you're too much of a fag to take a cock in the ass like a real man. You've joined the Democrats like every other lame piece of shit.

290 I am too lazy to write a whole new argument so i will just embelish this one for you delusional conservative racists.

The polls are being ginned up with heavy republican skewing to keep the

race exciting for republicans. If the media was honest and showed how

far behind Romney currently is, the bitter clinger half of the country

would tune out. That means the Debates would lose half of their

audience, and since the networks charge advertisers based on audience

numbers, they wouldn't make as much money off of the commercials during
the debates if half of he country tuned out...even if it is the

delusional low information racist half.

Once the debates are over the
real polling will show just how far behind Romney really is.

On
top of
that the Economy is roaring back to life. Last month unemployment
dropped from 8.3 to 7.8 % in one month! That's the result of President
Obama's amazing policies that have saved created or found 1 million
Jobs(114K
created + 885 found) last month.

Unemployment hasn't been this
low since
Obama took office, This is proof that he has brought this terrible
economy that Bush handed him back to where it was when he he took
office. Obama is america's real Come Back team. But just because we
are back where we started when He took office, does not mean we want to
return to the policies of the past. Americans are too smart to fall for
republican lies and empty promises. As our great president Obama has
said, we tried their plan and we tried Obama's and only Obama's was able
to get us back where we started. But the work isnt done and we need 4
more years to fix this 3 year proposition and the American people who
love Barack Obama the Patriot will give him that chance!

And please
stop using the excuse that Unemployement dropped because people left
the work force, of course people leave the workforce, a lot of people
have retired and died or gotten cancer and cant work thanks to

corporations like Bain which was run by Mitt Romney.

In addition, with
still legal abortion the kids arent
popping out as fast as they used to so a lower workforce is to be
accepted. Ofcourse I am sure that if Romney gets into office, woman
will be strapped into pens like cattle and turned into baby birthing factories so
that the republicans can pump out more slave labor to fund their war machine.

Next months unemployment numbers will drop again and will be pretty close
to 6% if not below. When that stunning news drops the Friday before the election,
its going to be over for Romney.

The bounce from Romney's
Debate lies should
dissipate starting today. President Obama was just too much of a
gentleman to call Romney out at the debate because Like Lincoln, Obama is an Honest man and confronting the lies of a lying divisive
rapscallion and bamboozler is foreign to him.

Its true, Our great president is too nice and too polite. Mitt Romney took advantage of that and with the help of that right wing moderator Jim lierer they both tag teamed the president unfairly. There are reports that Mitt Romney spoke 30 words per minute more than The President. If thats not blatent bias on the part of the rightwing media and debate committee i dont know what is. Ontop of that allowing Romney to use a cheat sheet was pretty sketchey.

But our president
is a quick study. He took office 4 years ago with no experience and
here he is now running the free world where al quaida is on its heels,
bin laden is dead and GM is alive and Recovery summer is here and the
american people love him for saving america and restoring her place in the world as a member nation of the collective. No longer the Bully

nation.

Don't doubt for a minute who the smartest man in the room will be at the next debate and he will cut this poser down to size like a ninja sushi chef.

But before that comes Thursday night when our great Vice President Biden who like
President Obama is a wonderful orator and one of the most adept and
clever debaters in Washington tears that thin skinned light on the facts

and figures Ryan apart, America will see that the
Wannabe emperor has no clothes and the campaign that focused on big bird and insulted our allies over seas will be history.

Its time for the lightbringer to shine the light of truth on this lying weasel and he will at the next debate

By Monday
of next week Obama will be back at 54% even with these faulty republican
oversampling polls, then by debate night when the country gets to see once again what an amazing man obama is and how good he looks, they will fall in love with him all over again and that will be the end of the election.

These polls you all are going gaga over are not only flawed and skewed heavily in your favor, the fact is that they just don't matter.

291 "Your honor, let me explain why I wound up all up in that 15 year old runaway's business: I was too much the gentleman to turn her aside. What would that have done to her self-esteem?"

That's some weapons-grade hilarity, right there.

I really don't give a shit what you think either. I was trying to explain that you are starting to annoy some morons here. You go way overboard.

I have a very nice tan, thank you. Notice, I might post three or four times a week, whereas, you, have tried to relentlessly to break the sock puppet top 10. And then bitch and whine when you are not acknowledged for your efforts.

Anyway, have fun. ;-)

Posted by: Full Pint at October 10, 2012 06:20 PM (7g1yh)

305 Wow, this is really political incompetence. By saying he was too polite, he extended the debate story another day. Yeah, anything to divert from Libya but too late, MSM is on it now, plus reminding everyone about the debate for a solid week as his polls tank is not helping him.

Secondly, he's painted himself into a corner. His base will expect him to get aggressive with Romney next time they meet up and that will look bad at a town hall. So either he pisses off his base or he looks like a jackass while reasonable Mitt with his kind grandfatherly smile can say he can sees now why there's been no bipartisan cooperation the past four years. Further, more people will tune in now just to see the interpersonal sideshow.

Bonus: the first O admin person forced to speak publicly in the wake of today's Benghazi hearings will be crazy "you never know what he'll say" Joe. O's campaign staff must be buying Tums by the case.
