MORE Terrible News for Romney (Pennsylvania edition)

Poll links developing.

Horrible, horrible news for Romney out of Pennsylvania. After trailing the President by double-digits pre-debate, Romney is now in the awful, no-good, ugly position of trailing him by 5, 46%-51%, in the latest Rasmussen poll. This on the heels of the awful Susquehanna and Sienna polls that have already narrowed the race there.

EVEN WORSE for Republicans, Tom Smith in Pennsylvania is now in an M.O.E. fight with Senator Bob Casey, trailing him 46-44 in the latest Susquehanna poll.
Horrible, awful, terrible numbers.
Clearly no bounce.

32 I can't tell you guys what a superb campaign Tom Smith has run. I actually gave him money a few months ago and probably will again. His TV ads are wonderful and are running in heavy rotation in Philly. His events are well produced and his direct mail is snappy and eye-catching. He put out a jobs plan and also says he will introduce a bill to cut Senators' pay if they fail to produce a budget. Just a textbook campaign. It reminds me very much of the campaign Mitch McConnell ran ages ago in his first race, when he tagged the incumbent Senator as a do-nothing chair-warmer. (I'm a native Kentuckian so I followed that race closely.) McConnell was the only Republican that defeated an incumbent Democrat that year.

CAC...that 5 points is down from 12 points just two weeks ago...that is a 7 point drop for Obama...LOL!! Love it and I trust the Siena/Seq polls better in PA then Ras only because both are based in PA....but nonetheless....from 12 to 5 is OUTSTANDING and again when Ras does not poll on a Sunday (this past Sunday was Holiday Sunday before Columbus Day) he gets a more accurate lay of the land. Reps are never around Sundays....especially Holiday Sundays...Reps/Conservatives are out and about...but nonetheless.....Great News for Mitt....a 7 point drop in two weeks is impressive. It will be interesting to see if Mitt goes into PA big??? This is moving towards him and OBAMA is going to have to defend PA turf! The closer these polls come in PA from 2-5 points down from 7-12 Obama will have to defend especially if Mitt goes in there!

Great News for Senator Smith in PA....He was on Mark Levin the week before last and he was outstanding...HE IS TOTALLY SELF FINANCING his campaign....WOW...putting his own money where his mouth is! Down only 2....I would imagine more likely tied or up 2 in PA!

Mitt is there in Ohio...lets see if he makes a move into PA....I would love to see it!

The conventional wisdom is that healthcare in Massachusetts will
not change significantly under the ACA. A careful review of the law,
however, reveals that big changes are ahead for the Commonwealth. A new brief from

insurance plans. According to the report, the controversial provision
will affect well over 50% of workers in Massachusetts.

Dick Morris (I know, I know) has a theory that Obama is about to spring an October surprise; a deal with Iran to temporarilystop uranium enrichment in return for a lowering of the sanctions which are finally crippling Iran and causing hyperinflation.

Iran will of course have more flexibility to ramp up again as soon as it has helped Obama get elected, as it prefers a Shia in the Presidency to a Mormon. (I have long held that Obama is Shia, as is Iran, Assad and Hezbollah).

Iran got Reagan elected, this type of thing is not new for them.

If you look around the ME you will see that Obama has attacked and taken down Sunni as much as possible while leaving Shia alone as much as possible.

172 The polls are being ginned up with heavy republican skewing to keep the
race exciting for republicans. If the media was honest and showed how
far behind Romney currently is, the bitter clinger half of the country
would tune out. That means the Debates would lose half of their
audience, and since the networks charge advertisers based on audience
numbers, they wouldn't make as much money off of the commercials during
the debates if half of he country tuned out...even if it is the
delusional low information racist half.

Once the debates are over the
real polling will show just how far behind Romney really is.

On
top of
that the Economy is roaring back to life. Last month unemployment
dropped from 8.3 to 7.8 % in one month! That's the result of President
Obama's amazing policies that have saved created or found 1 million
(114K
created + 885 found) last month.

Unemployment hasn't been this
low since
Obama took office, This is proof that he has brought this terrible
economy that Bush handed him back to where it was when he he took
office. Obama is america's real Come Back team. But just because we
are back where we started when He took office, does not mean we want to
return to the policies of the past. Americans are too smart to fall for
republican lies and empty promises. As our great president Obama has
said, we tried their plan and we tried Obama's and only Obama's was able
to get us back where we started. But the work isnt done and we need 4
more years to fix this 3 year proposition and the American people who
love Barack Obama the Patriot will give him that chance!

And please
stop using the excuse that Unemployement dropped because people left
the work force, of course people leave the workforce, a lot of people
have retired and died or gotten cancer and cant work thanks to
corporations like Bain which was run by Mitt Romney.

In addition, with
still legal abortion the kids arent
popping out as fast as they used to so a lower workforce is to be
accepted. Ofcourse I am sure that if Romney gets into office, woman
will be strapped into pens like cattle and turned into baby machnes so
that the republicans can pump out more slave labor to fund their war
machine.

Next months unemployment numbers will drop again and will be pretty close
to 6%. When that stunning news drops the Friday before the election,
its going to be over for Romney.

The bounce from Romney's
Debate lies should
dissipate starting today. President Obama was just too much of a
gentleman to call Romney out at the debate because Like Lincoln, Obama
is an Honest man and confronting the lies of a lying divisive
rapscallion and bamboozler is foreign to him.

But our president
is a quick study. He took office 4 years ago with no experience and
here he is now running the free world where al quaida is on its heels,
bin laden is dead and GM is alive and Recovery summer is here and the
american people love him for saving america and restoring her place in
the world as a member nation of the collective. No longer the Bully
nation.

Thursday night when our great Vice President Biden who like
President Obama is a wonderful orator and one of the most adept and
clever debaters in Washington tears that thin skinned light on the facts
and figures Ryan apart, America will see that the
Wannabe emperor has no clothes and the campaign that focused on big bird
and insulted our allies over seas will be history.

By Monday
of next week Obama will be back at 54% even with these faulty republican
oversampling polls.

Besides polls don't matter.

With 40 years of debating experience under his belt, Vice President Joe
Biden hunkered down for several days of intensive preparation in his
hometown of Wilmington, Del., this week ahead of his duel with Rep. Paul
Ryan in Danville, Ky., this Thursday.

The vice president has been studying and watching videos of Ryan's
interviews and speeches, and he has read a book co-authored by Ryan and
Reps. Eric Cantor and Kevin McCarthy.

Biden has held mock debates against Rep. Chris Van Hollen, D-Md.

At the time, Van Hollen predicted Biden would "kick my butt" in the mock debates.

Allegheny County actually stayed in place in 2008 compared to 2004, which is pretty good considering the difference between the two years. The suburban township I grew up in (Ross Township) gave the same result to Bush and McCain to the tenth of a point. I have to wonder what is accounting for the change. Is it that suburbs that lean Republican becoming solidly Republican? Is Obama having real problems in some of the blue-collar neighborhoods in Pittsburgh? Maybe both?

It will be the first time it has since 1972. It has been trending that way for a long time and will finally go.

It is the collar counties. If Romney actually won the collar by, say, 30k, that + the T would outweigh Philadelphia.

But McCain, Bush, Bush, Dole, Bush I all lost the collar. They lost Montgomery, Bucks, and Delaware. You need to hold Obama's margins down in Montgomery and Delaware Counties, and flip Bucks County. Also ramp up margins in Chester and Berks.

Here in Chesco - in my town anyway, I think we've lost most of the Philly transplants after the mortgage meltdown. At one point I looked at a foreclosure map of the overpriced townhouse developments the big developers shoved up our @ss and it was beyond ugly.

So that should help. In 2008 my town went 50-50.

234 @167 - I wonder if it's just an academic's natural predilection for academics.

I mean, it's funny. For me, at least, 2008 was easy. You don't vote for anyone from Chicago.

There is one statistical near-certainty in politics: a Democrat from Cook County is a crook. Hell, a Republican from Cook County isn't much better, but you'd need a microscope to find the line on the chart that says 'Chicago Democrats not guilty of something indictable'.

Then you grab 'Dreams from My Father' and open it to any random page and read for ten minutes, and see if you can get through it without throwing the thing at the wall. It pitches a worldview so completely at odds with my own, and so completely at odds with what I want in a leader, that it was a bit scary.

Then add up everything else, and you've got a very clear NO WAY IN HELL.

They also don't like the public sector unionsvery much...jealousy, I suppose. They may not vote for Romney but they ain't supporting Obama either, no matter what the boss says.
And there's also the walking-around-money thing. If Obama doesn't pay up, the fraud machine goes on union time. 250 "But I am with the other morons that are worried about him showing up drunk and just babbling any nonsense. That's hard to refute."

Isn't that kind of what he did with Palin? As I recall he made a number of assertions that seemed very forceful at the time ("Since everyone with a brain knows 2+2 equals five, it's equally obvious that if you double it, you have 10!"), but later proved to be false. Obviously the MSM squelched it, but I always felt Palin would have really clobbered him if she had forcefully refuted his incorrect assertions ("No, no, Joe, once again you're simply wrong on the facts. 2+2 does not equal 5, it is 4, which makes the rest of your analysis pretty useless.").

Hope I'm correct, but I think Ryan will not let him get away with any of this. If anyone does, Ryan has the correct facts, and I don't think he will be shy about using them to his advantage and not letting Biden demagogue endlessly without contradiction.

sounded like an official in the town where this occurred.)

She said a woman with a Romney sign on her lawn had her house broken

into, they stole the electronics, etc, and painted something like

"Obama B*tch" on the living room wall.

Reminds me of that old "Star Trek":

"Brain and brain! What is brain!"

"The power to remove Biden's brain exists right where we are. Restoring it must also be possible!"

255 ALSO, as of Friday, the Obama headquarters in my
city neighborhood had not opened yet (NOT the main Pittsburgh
headquarters, just a small neighborhood office). It was due to open in a
few days. SEEMS LATE for a campaign office top open up in October.

257 238 I don't tell conservatives on some websites I m gay. I just ignore the issue. Libs freak out on me. I've been conservatives since 2000. Just a FWIW, I dont think Romney has a chance in Allegh Co, just that Obama enthusiasm is way down.

258 #248 Jill Biden was at an Obama or Democratic Party office with Bob Brady and some other Dem hacks. Very small crowd. She did a little tour of southeastern PA yesterday and today, mostly to buck up the volunteers I think.

I live outside ofDoylestown, and the Borough itself is very Democratic. In 2008 it was plastered with Obama signs and there were kids waving signs on the main streetcorners every weekend through October. This year, nothing. They opened an office downtown in an abandoned storefront and put up a bunch of cheesy homemade signs, but I never see anyone in there. Out in the 'burbs, it is heavily Romney/Smith in terms of signs so far. Also in 2008, Patrick Murphy weas the Congressman from Bucks and he was THE first elected Democrat to endorse Obama in the primary. Obama repaid him by visiting Bucks at least three times and spending a lot of money here. We haven't seen even any outside surrogates for Obama this year.

In 2008 the Bucks County GOP just used its main HQ building in Doylestown for phonebanking and sign pickup. This year they have also opened offices in Bristol and Quakertown at both ends of the county. That in itself means much higher enthusiasm.

I hadn't even considered that aspect. We've been plagued by foreclosures in my area as well. I wonder where the overextended buyers who had to abandon their homes ended up? Here in Delco they could have just moved to a grittier part of the county. But I'm hoping they hauled ass back to the city.

I see Gumby Greg is still trying. Anyone bother to read that crap?

More good news though, this time Ohio. Mandel is tied with Sherrod "I'm an idiot" Brown. Totally unexpected and a sign Ohio is turning. Now if we can get rid of bothBrown and Casey that would be the the culmination of a whole lot of work. I hope everyone sends a few bucks to Mandel in Ohio and Smith in PA.
