"Are these "final" or in some way comparable numbers?
You're not getting our hopes up only to find Republicans are simply turning out earlier than Democrats?" No, the gap is closing for the Republicans. Ohio had Dems ahead by about 100,000 absentee ballots submitted at the start. The gap has narrowed to 60,000 ballots. For comparison, in 2008 the Dems lead by about 250,000. 15 The latest spin is that Romney lied last night. About everything.
I've seen this too. Same as the Ryan speech, even though the worst thing they could come up with him having lied about was not even a lie. I think this is the new tactic of the so-called party of the intellectuals. Don't debate or attempt to refute. Just say everything's a lie. It's easier that way. All you really need to know about Ohio counties is this:
Cleveland = Cuyahoga Columbus = Franklin Cincinnati - Hamilton Columbus will decide the Ohio election. If these stats are even remotely reliable in any way, the 10pt shift in Franklin county will win Ohio for Romney. Posted by: Jimbo from Ohio at October 04, 2012 07:27 PM (aDDEI) 30

Not saying they will win WI, just that Obama is further ahead there. Plus Obama can lose WI and still win, but losing Ohio makes winning very very difficult. I compared the Rep/Dem registration numbers from 2008 vs 2012 for Northeast Fl (Jacksonville and St. Augustine) the other day and Republican registration is + 16,000. We are a military town so a better turnout was expected, but that is significant. The amazing thing is that their are more new registered republicans SINCE 2010.

----------- It's a trap...for Barky...one that he has laid out there, for himself. Mitt played it well, too. He just said..."I have no idea what you're talking about". Which is plausible, because he's right...there *is no* subsidy. What there is....is a Tax Savings....and usually a bump in your Stock Price, when a company shuts down a factory here, and moves their operation overseas. The company that does this,is not onlysaving taxes on SS/Med/UnemploymentTaxes...but they are also saving on Property Taxes, Liability Insurance, and the higher wage costs here in the US. PA is redder than the media has been trying to make it.
Got rid of Lyin' Ed Rendell. The Senate race is looking up. There was some redistricting so there may be changes/chances there. Although the UE rate isn't too bad, Obarky has stepped on his dick with the energy regs and his attempt to screw with the farmers kids and a few other ongoing F'ups in the agricultural venue. People forget this is a bigger dairy state than WI and also other crops. Prices are ridiculous and fuel costs hurt the farmer. By the way, gas on I-5 is 470.9. Excellent job, SCoaMF.
If California, that's not the usual SCoaMF. That's Moonbeam and his buddies in Sacramento. SoCal is about to be out of gas because California has its own summer and winter gas blends, and Exxon's refinery went down just after two others went off line to convert from summer to winter. If the state doesn't issue a waiver so we can get the winter blend early, we're screwed. (NorCal goes to the winter blend Sept.30, SoCal Oct.31, so there's enough gas if the waiver comes through. My friends in the oil business are of the opinion that this is a 10th Amendment issue -- the Feds should step in and standardize the blends by season and altitude, not by state.) Read some Rush transcript today. He made a great point about how the media created the myth that Obama was a genius, untouchable by mortal men. Then they never touched him with a tough question for 4 years. No one has ever gotten in his face, including McCain. When it happened, he was wiped out, looked like a kid who had gotten caught stealing. ;; Someone else had an interesting comment about how Obama didn't use his usual condescending clippedspeaking cadence last night, but spoke normally. The poster postulated that Obama can only speak in that weird cadence when he's reading the teleprompter. It doesn't mean much. It is quite possible that the turnout on Election Day will favor Obama.
However, a little anecdotal "evidence" that means something, or nothing. I live in the Chicago suburbs. Chicago IS Obama territory, as is Cook County. In places around here where there was block upon block of Obama/Biden signs, there are very few to be seen. Same goes for Obama/Biden bumper stickers. In 2008, 1/2 the women at my kid's grade school wore their "Women for Obama" shirts almost daily. Now, I see two or three. Romney signs are evident in a few places, where Obama signs were in 2008. Does it mean anything? Perhaps. Perhaps not. Also, two of my neighbors, both strong Dems, are sitting the election out. Again, does it mean anything? I don't know, but I find it interesting. I know Illinois is going to go Obama, but, I find the lack of enthusiasm interesting. Posted by: CofTAS at October 04, 2012 08:19 PM (ZsZ10) 220

Mark Belling said the campaign is desperate for volunteers in WI to make phone calls and Walker has a robo call out trying to get people to help out on Saturday. Was Obama rattled by developing donor scandal story? President Obama reelection campaign, rattled by his Wednesday night debate performance, could be in for even worse news. According to knowlegable sources, a national magazine and a national web site are preparing a blockbuster donor scandal story. Sources told Secrets that the Obama campaign has been trying to block the story. But a key source said it plans to publish the story Friday or, more likely, Monday. According to the sources, a taxpayer watchdog group conducted a nine-month investigation into presidential and congressional fundraising and has uncovered thousands of cases of credit card solicitations and donations to Obama and Capitol Hill, allegedly from unsecure accounts, and many from overseas.
That might be a violation of federal election laws. Posted by: Islamic Rage Boy at October 04, 2012 08:46 PM (e8kgV) 312

1. they're cutting 19 states from the exit polling.
They're trying to say that the states they are cutting are equally sure wins for one or the other candidate. THIS IS A LIE. Posted by: Jcw46 at October 04, 2012 07:21 PM (Vh0f5) Not really, at least on one level. The individual states where they're canceling exit polling are clearly in one camp or another. The real problem with this is that 16 of 19 states on that list are firmly in the Romney/GOP camp. It's all about the MFM trying to kill GOP turnout by not reporting on the impending electoral tsunami. Not to mention, prepping the battlespace for the inevitable Kloppenburg-style electoral lawsuit/attempted election theft. Posted by: IllTemperedCur at October 04, 2012 08:58 PM (TIIx5) 350

At the time, the Washington Post reported that the Obama
campaign let donors use "largely untraceable prepaid credit cards that could potentially be used to evade limits on how much an individual is legally allowed to give or to mask a contributor's identity." The WaPo had nothing to do with that. Pam Geller started it all off by donating money as "John Galt" and then conservative blogs got into the act by making donations in all sorts of ridiculous names - "saddam hussein", "joseph stalin", "asdfijkjsdh", ... We all knew that the AVS was turned off and that it was done intentionally (since default was "on" and no one with a brain would turn it off as that would only cost them in chargebacks). Clearly it was illegal and one of Barky's first - of more than 40 - obviously impeachable acts (though his illegal and totally repulsive campaign rally in a foreign nation ... for foreigners ... ahd already taken place and was about the worst offense an American political candidate can commit). But, Barky was only running against the miserable piece of shit who wrote a totally un-Constitutional and insane campaign finance law, a guy who couldn't be bothered to try and note any campaign finance irregularities or CRIMES (crimes against normal law and our Constitution, not against McShame's insane law, though against that too) and all McShame could come up with over the ILLEGAL and repulsive Berlin campaign rally was ... "celebrity"!! while not even bothering to have the AVS stuff checked. All of these fatal problems for America could have been nipped in the bud, if only we had a few people who were willing to enforce the law and protect American sovereignty and our Constitution, which didn't allow a non-natural born citizen to vie for the Presidency, anyway.
Posted by: Mullaney at October 04, 2012 07:27 PM (5pDGb) ============================================= You have to remember that these are people who believe that "truth" is whatever they say it is. Unlike some other candidates in years past, Romney had the temerity to say "no, the truth is what is objectively real and that objective reality is NOT the narrative you are pushing". For this temerity Romney is branded a "liar"- kind of like how global warming skeptics are branded "liars" and "deniers". Posted by: Nighthawk at October 04, 2012 08:59 PM (YyvYQ) 355

382 Why is Romney even in Fisherville?
Just awful scheduling for the only rally the day after the debate. ______________ Let's see: Virginia's a swing state. Romney can actually draw a crowd in the middle of nowhere. Obama has to stick to large metropolitan areas to get any crowd. Posted by: I lurk, therefore I am at October 04, 2012 09:15 PM (+MryV) 396

fishersville is 20 miles from Charlottesville, home of UVA which is uber liberal. this will get picked up by Roanoke TV market as well as Lynchburg, Charlottesville, Richmond Northern VA (because they want to cover anything happening near UVA). Plus, it is 6th CD of Va which is where R/R need to win big to win VA.

The debate result was the gap between reality and MFM-ality.
People got to see one guy who's qualified and who has been vilified by the MFM, and the other who has been carried by the MFM and is a smug, fraudulent, divisive, lazy chump. Nightmare recap for the low info types that just tuned in - the reality is that the second guy has been precedent for the past 3 and a half years, and the MFM has been fondling his balls. It’s October 11 at Centre College in Danville Kentucky. Joe Biden has gotten off to a bad start in the Vice Presidential debate, saying (in a bad Southern accent) how much he loves Kentucky “where the horses are beautiful and the women are fast.” Next he notes that Ann Romney is “smokin’ hot”. Things go downhill quickly. Biden says that age should not be an issue in the campaign, “and I will not take advantage of my opponent’s youth and inexperience”. Ryan responds, “to paraphrase Lloyd Bentsen, Ronald Reagan was a hero of mine. You, Mr. Vice President, are no Ronald Reagan.” Biden: “Who’s talking about Reagan?” As the debate proceeds, Biden drops several f bombs, calls Bashir Assad a reformer and an ally of the United States, doesn’t seem to remember the Benghazi consulate attack. Sixty minutes in, as Ryan is delivering a withering attack on the Obama economic record, Biden utters a loud gasp and staggers away from the podium, grasping his chest. With a painful grimace, he falls- very gracefully- to the floor, between the two podiums. Ryan, closest to him, immediately runs, kneels, turns Biden on his back and begins CPR. The cameras keep rolling as aides and Secret Service rush the stage. It’s hard to see but it appears Biden , still on his back, is trying to push Ryan off. The mikes, still live, pick him up: “Get the fuck off me, faggot. I’m having a heart attack here.” A week later, the Obama campaign finally finds a new VP nominee. It’s confirmed that six Senators and governors turned down the job, and there are rumors that at least a dozen more were approached. Finally, Barbara Boxer agrees to step in; a week later, a video made at her first fundraiser as a VP candidate surfaces; Senator Boxer boasts that Obama has promised that if elected, she will be nominated to the next Supreme Court vacancy. Neither the Obama campaign nor the White House comments. Posted by: Jim in Virginia at October 04, 2012 09:16 PM (mDDnb) 401

Breaking from two decades of tradition, this year’s election exit poll is set to include surveys of voters in 31 states, not all 50 as it has for the past five presidential elections, according to multiple people involved in the planning.
Here is a list of the states that will be excluded from coverage: Alaska, Arkansas, Delaware, District of Columbia, Georgia, Hawaii, Idaho, Kentucky, Louisiana, Nebraska, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, West Virginia and Wyoming. "411 "C'mon Dave,
Lie to everyone again and say Romney is up 4 nationally." Romney is up nationally by 3.9% on average in the national polls. It's not that hard. You think I'm making that up?" Yeah, you're re-weighting things to get a result you like. This is NOT an average of national polls. You're substituting turnout models you hope will occur, not what's being used in the actual polls. It's a hack job hoax. Posted by: wolf at October 04, 2012 09:24 PM (Xa2if) 425

Not Alabama? I can save the networks money by noting that Romney carries the state with ease. Also every statewide office will be Republican, and all US Reps save the one majority-minority carve out in Birmingham.
