David Axelrod Explicitly Asks Press To Make The Case Against Romney That Obama Can't
All but stating that Mitt Romney had won the Denver debate, Axelrod conceded that the performance aspect was 'not the President's strong suit in these events' but insisted that 'I don't see us adding huge amounts of additional prep time'. Axelrod, speaking on a campaign conference call, made an appeal to reporters to make the points that Obama himself had failed to make in the debate 'All of you who travel on the road with Governor Romney know that he just few weeks ago stood up and said we didn't need any more teachers,' he said. 'Last night he couldn't be more enthusiastic about teachers and more teachers.'Unrelated: Hey, Romney really was like a whole different person last night, eh?

" Let's say you have a company that makes a million dollars. Let's say the net proft is 250K, they won't pay a single extra dollar in higher taxes. And if they decide to hire an extra person at 100K, it won't matter to this business whether the marginal tax rate is 3% higher or not, because he gets to write off this. Oh yeah, Romney did not cut education funding in MA. My SIL was chair of her local school committee when he was Gov. He did introduce a teacher evaluation system that had the unions howling.

There is yet a realistic disconnect with his lines against "Trickle Down Government," "If it requires borrowing money from China, just say no and cut a bureau's budget request"(exception: no limit to Military expenditures), and "I won't sign any check to Europe" (but won't stop The Fed from bailing them out). Nah, I don't want another false messiah out of the GOP. But it would be great to know that Mitt would respect his dad's conclusions regarding interventionist wars being a mistake that requires brainwashing to support v. George W. Bush's so-called "doctrine."

I have this same argument with a relative of mine working in management for Louisiana Public Broadcasting all the time...
Most of the stuff that people actually watch, like Sesame Street, Nova, etc., will survive if PBS goes away.
What this will get rid of is likely to be shows no one watches as well as some of the little side projects associated with the big-name shows, like the foreign versions of Sesame Street which teaches South African kids about HIV and condoms or tells Palestinian kids to kill the Jews.

Referencing what replaced the wagon trails in 1869, last night Obama touted Lincoln's decision to tax fund what should have remained a private enterprise, the transcontinental railway, one of the biggest tax frauds and most corrupt and inept American businesses of all time, not to mention a grotesque land grab from pioneers (often murdered for not selling out without any decent reimbursement offered) who'd already bought and settled the co-opted railway land.

Did his get upgraded because he was a sitting Senator? Dunno. The 442nd had 52 DSCs, and 19 were upgraded. Then again he wouldn't have been a Senator had he not played the war hero card and gone into politics. He was going to go back to med school until he lost an arm.
Don't like the guy's politics much, but he was a heck of a gunfighter along with most of the 442nd, so I don't begrudge him the original award or the upgrade. My own infantry experience was far less intense, so I'm not going to judge.

Face it. PBS is already stuck rebroadcasting old programs year after year, often without any new episodes.
Tax funds granted to PBS go into employee status quo salaries and whatever "new" productions that amount to the latest progressive Marxist "news" propaganda and cooking shows. Even the self help rebroadcasts are stuck on a broken replay every time PBS has another fund drive. Really: Suze Orman, STILL?!!! And give us a break, "Central Texas Gardener" features NO horticulturalist, just local aging PBS personalities that waste time on air talking about themselves.

Years ago, I worked at a place where the boss had something called "the Can of Lies" on his desk. It was an ordinary coffee can with slips of paper in it on which were written excuses: "The dog ate my homework", say, or "I was kidnapped by aliens" - that sort of thing. When an employee started making excuses for screwing up, the boss would pick a slip from the Can of Lies, hand it to the employee, and tell him to read it. That was the boss's way of getting past the bullshit and back to work, and I have to say, it worked pretty well.
So, I wonder what's in the Can of Lies on Obama's desk? "Romney Lied", obviously. "RACIST!", of course. "I was busy being president" is in there. And "It's Bush's Fault".
I can tell for certain, though, the one slip that isn't in Obama's Can of Lies, or anywhere else on his desk: "The Buck Stops Here".
