Claims They Were #Hacked!

The DC Board of Elections and Ethics is responsible for, context clues inform me, elections and ethics in DC.

Their Twitter account posted a link to the liberal blog Talking Point Memo, getting all mad that Scott Brown dared to bring up Elizabeth Warren's non-existent Indian heritage.

They claim they were hacked.

Someone went to the trouble, you see, of hacking their account, and only posted a short tweet directing people to Talking Points Memo.

See, that's what hackers do. They invest hours to crack your password, then post brief political tweets linking people to liberal blogs.

"Somebody must have hacked into our account and posted that," Raper added. "Anybody who had worked here previously who had access to the Twitter account could have posted it or either someone posted it by accident."
The agency has since changed the account's password.

Yup. That's what I call Classic Hacker Behavior. Runninrebel agrees: "Whenever I commit a felony I like to do it for no real reason other than to share information of little importance. "

You misread that. I was giving Obama almost as many D voters as in 2008 as a going in assumption. Giving him credit for turning out his base, then going from there to postulate what the election would look with a typical turnout result.

I gave him 50m D votes, slightly less than the 51m D votes he got in 2008.

One of the guys running our office told us this week that a big leaked tape about Jim Matheson is going to drop; he made it sound like it is "Dean Scream" big, like Weiner tweet big, that it is totally going to sink Matheson's campaign once it drops.

Apparently there was a DNC thing in the state and Matheson was forced to compete with the lefty big boys here; normally he tries to sound as blah as can be so to not scare Utah republicans. Well on this tape, to prove he is a dem (or to let the mask slip finally) he goes no holds barred, in the tank Obamabot, hook line and sinker. All caught on tape. If true, this will be a huge deal, because last night in the debates with Mia he stressed that he is NOT Obama's lackey and that we was not for Obamacare.

I think Mia can win without a gift like this, but every bit helps. Matheson's gotten by for ten years on name recognition and likeability, and the generosity of republican voters. If he goes full Obamabot that is all toast; fingers crossed the rumors are true!

In addition, a bunch of Utahs in several counties got together last Saturday and did a big money bomb for Mia, raised 20K for her. Every little bit helps, and she has huge support all over the state.

And lastly, if you are wondering what the heck the RNC is doing, apparently they are giving our office and others in the state money to travel on weekends to Nevada, for a huge GOTV effort. All expenses including food and lodging paid for, and you go door to door to encourage people to vote for Romney/Ryan. Utahns and Mormons, going door to door proselytizing a positive message? Obama's GOTV in Nevada is toast.

Do we know the personal twitter accounts of these people? Find which one has tweets linking to TPM, and that's probably the guilty person.

For a government employee to lie about being hacked should be a federal offense, given the law enforcement resources necessary to confirm/deny the hack. Of course, Eric Holder won't investigate this.
