Chuck Todd: Mitt Romney Bears the Blame For the Firestorm over Todd Akin's Remarks

First thing out of the hack's mouth in this clip.

He will allow that the media may be slightly disinterested in covering the economy, but then offers some excuses for that, including, dishonestly, "Hey, shouldn't we be talking about casualties in Afghanistan?"

Sure.

And what does that have to do with your decision to Flood the Zone with the Democrats' top talking point, the War on Women?

Think about how dishonest that excuse is. It's like you're my parent, and you've caught me playing with myself instead of doing the yardwork I'm supposed to.

And when you confront me-- and say "You should be doing yardwork!" -- I say, "But shouldn't I also be cleaning the gutters? And shouldn't I also be painting the garage? And shouldn't I also be detailing the car?"

See? In order to escape responsibility for not doing the yardwork, I postulate other productive activities I should be engaged in.

And yet I'm not doing any of them. What I'm doing is playing with myself.

And this is exactly Chuck Todd's tactic when asked shouldn't he be covering the economy, rather than berating Paul Ryan about the definition of "forcible rape" -- "Ah, but shouldn't I also be reporting on war, man?"

Yeah. But you're not.

You're playing with yourself. As usual.

99 Who the Hell is Chuck Todd?
--
IIRC, he is one of the early writers for the Talking Points Memo, the official DNC spin document sent to all of the networks. The networks used to digest this info and try to sneak it into their broadcasts, but now with such intellectual heavyweights like Soledad O'Burgundy in the mix, they just read them directly on the air.

Our Missouri poll this week found Mitt Romney leading Barack Obama 52-42

Romney's formula in Missouri: up 6 with independents, Republicans more unified than Democrats, GOP turnout edge:

Ryan polls best in MO of anywhere since he was announced- 48/40 favorability, voters even support Ryan Plan 41-38:

Obama deeply unpopular in Missouri- 42% approve, 55% disapprove. Romney's favorability is 48/45:

Republican Peter Kinder up 45-38 for Lt. Gov in Missouri, Democrat Chris Koster up 41-39 for Atty General

Well, I'll tell you.

Before Chuck Todd, there was Craig Crawford. Remember him? He was the guy who sounded like half a retard.

He told MSNBC to fuck off in 2010. Here are some excerpts from his resignation letter:

"...my situation with MSNBC has become so unrewarding for me that I’ve decided to move on. [...]This was a long time coming. I haven’t felt like a good fit for MSNBC since the presidential campaign, and their hard turn toward point-of-view programming.

So many of my booking calls lately have been for segments bashing Sarah Palin, for instance. I was boring myself, and surely the viewers."

Later, Craig has a few words for Chris Piss-brain Matthews:

"Can’t tell ya how hard this choice was to make. I’ve had a difficult time with MSNBC since the presidential primaries, should have pulled the trigger long ago. but my scotch-irish blood keeps me loyal long past the bitter end, which has long past, sadly…

i simply could not any longer endure being a cartoon player for lefty games, just gotta move on to higher ground even if there’s no oxygen…

thanks bethy, i have never and never will forgive Chris for calling me a racist after the West Virginia primary (the last time I will ever go on air with him). Probably should have resigned then and there, but better late than never. "

Today a battalion of angry liberals showed up to do battle on behalf of some-women in the War on Women. They were confounded when the other side failed to appear. Unwilling to let their momentum fade away, they began beating each other. This lasted until a new poll came out.

The one-sided battle was immediately aborted.

What, exactly, does free birth control and abortion on demand have to do with "women's health?"

----------

Yeah....their whole "war on women" thing is really Sexist, if you ask me.

It's like they're saying that 'Women only think about their sex organs'....and that is their Premium Concern in Life.
I find it rather insulting.

Women are concerned about....feeding their families, paying their bills, making their mortgage payments...just like men are.
Women are concerned about....our National Security.
Women are concerned about....being able to fill up their gas tanks, and still have enough money to buy shoes for the kids.

Birth control and abortions are waaay down on the list of 'things that women are concerned about'.

204 "What, exactly, does free birth control and abortion on demand have to do with "women's health?""

Because there are a small handfull of women in existence who suffer massive physiological symptoms with their usual "cycle," and currently the best that doctors can do for them is put them on the pill, which regulates the hormones and alleviates the symptoms.

Therefore no one should ever DISTINGUISH between the women who want the pill so they can go all Flukey, and those who need the pill so that they can function for all four weeks of the month. Don't distinguish! Lump them all into one category, and make sure that the pills are there for Category A because shut up don't discriminate against Category B. You might disenfranchise them from exercising their "right" to pills.

Similar for abortions. Because there is a small group of instances where most people will justify an abortion, the only conclusion that liberals can draw is that they should be there in all instances, for all people. Again, don't distinguish! Lump them all together, because aking questions might make someone uncomfortable, and disenfranchise them from getting an abortion.

Posted by: reason at August 23, 2012 01:27 PM (RQDhf)

205 You know, if I had been at that committee where flukey fluke "testified" she couldn't afford $9 a month birth control, I would have asked if she had never heard of this thing called pulling out.

The book, "No Easy Day: The Firsthand Account of the Mission That Killed Osama Bin Laden," is set to hit shelves on Sept 11. It is penned under the pseudonym "Mark Owen," according to the publisher, but multiple sources told Fox News his name is in fact Matt Bissonnette, 36, of Wrangell, Alaska. Bissonnette could be exposing himself to legal trouble, as the Pentagon has not vetted the account.
The tell-all book also has apparently upset a large population of former and current SEAL members who worry about releasing information that could compromise future missions. One Navy SEAL told Fox News, "How do we tell our guys to stay quiet when this guy won't?" Other SEALs are expressing anger, with some going so far as to call him a "traitor."

326 A Republican Jewish group is calling on the Obama campaign to distance itself from a controversial rabbi who has met with anti-Semitic Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and who sits on the board of an organization that has been listed as one of the “Top Ten Anti-Israel” groups by the Anti-Defamation League.

The rabbi in question is Lynn Gottlieb, who was listed as one of 613 “Rabbis for Obama,” a new Obama campaign effort to highlight its support among Jewish religious leaders.

Gottlieb dined with the Iranian president in 2008, and was among the first American rabbis to travel to the Islamic republic, according to the Jerusalem Post.

Gottlieb said that Americans should not pay attention to Ahmadinejad, despite his genocidal rhetoric.

“He’s the mouthpiece—we spend way too much time focusing on him,” the Jerusalem Post quoted her as saying in 2008.

She advocated that the U.S. government sit down for talks with Iran.

“We were all there for the sake of pressuring the US government to engage in direct dialogue and conversation,” she said, according to the Jerusalem Post. “The emphasis shouldn’t be on [Ahmadinejad] per se.”

Gottlieb, a devotee of the far-left J Street, also sits on the board of an organization that the Anti-Defamation League has dubbed one of the “Top 10 Anti-Israel Groups In America.”

The group, Jewish Voice for Peace, routinely criticizes the Jewish state and advocates in favor of the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement, which wages economic warfare on Israel by boycotting goods produced in the country.

RJC Executive Director Matt Brooks said in a statement that “there can be only two explanations for her inclusion in the list: 1) the Obama campaign failed to properly vet the rabbis on their official list, or 2) they did properly vet the rabbis and chose to ignore Rabbi Gottlieb’s radical views.”

Team Obama lacks judgment when it comes to Israel, Brooks asserted.

“This speaks volumes about the Obama campaign’s judgment and the RJC calls on the Obama campaign to immediately remove her from any formal or official involvement in the campaign,” he said.

The Obama campaign and the National Jewish Democratic Council did not respond to requests for comment on Gottlieb. Team Obama’s Jewish outreach efforts are operated by Ira Forman, the NJDC’s former chief.

Gottlieb, a staunch supporter of BDS, gave a video tribute to the anti-Israel movement in 2010.

336 @CBD - See? This is what convents are for. You don't need this sort of stress in your life.

CONVENTS. The next time they see a teenage boy, they'll be 75 years old, and thwack his hands with a ruler.

No, they make allowances for what I call "Self Hating Jews". They are very common actually

342 Does Todd still have that stupid goatee? I hate that middle age white guy talking vagina look.

Doughy guys do that to indicate where their chin is located. Otherwise, as you can still plainly see, it's just neck fat from the mouth to the, um... area where the chest should be... shit, it's just one big fleshy mass!

344 Are we planning moron meet ups for the election?

Posted by: Hobojerky at August 23, 2012 02:08 PM (MrM2k)

345 At some point, we're going to have to cut bait with the SoCon freaks who want to make every election about a woman's uterus.

Every time we suffer a humiliating loss, the SoCons threaten to sit out election unless we kiss their rings . I'd rather have a GOP that can once again win states like New York, Illinois, New Jersey, Connecticut, etc rather than fighting to curry favor with the trailer park snake handlers of Alabama and Arkansas.

it might be a painful election or two to cut bait, but otherwise we're going to keep having to deal with the Akins, Christine O'Donnells, and Sharon Angle's EVERY single election cycle and keep handing Senate seats to left-wing Democrats and keep talking about issues that politicians can't possibly solve.

27Ace, sent you guys an email on this. Seems like a useful time to point out that we have a sitting us congressman that saved a 22 year old woman on the streets of Milwaukee from a knife wielding attacker.

Yes, but what's he saving her

for.?

Oh I do. But they seem to think 99.9 percent of women are rabidly for abortion, no matter the circumstances or when performed.

These are the same people that think you need a special ID to vote in PA.

In other words, f'ing idiots.

359 former red states, now blue states, whatever.

360 Ace -

Thanks for this. I noted Chuck Todd's BS too.
Last night Laura Ingraham was sitting-in for Bill O'Reilly. She had
on two female (well, one was, anyway) democrat talkingheads. Both insisted
Romney/Ryan/GOP are talking about abortion now, and not the economy. Why aren't
they talking about the economy? They insist on talking about abortion, and on
and on. Which is crap, because the only time Romney/Ryan or any GOP rep. talks
about abortion/Akin is when answering a question about it.

For weeks Romney, and Ryan, have been talking about the economy.
What were the democrats talking about? Romney's tax returns, and dogs on car
roofs.
