60 Minutes, eh? Well, I assume they're smart enough (coughpartyofstupidcough) to also bring in their own cameras so they have 100% of the
footage available to them.
It'd be great if they demanded to approve the final edit/broadcast version.
Or, failing that, at least a few days preview...then they could buy all the commerical
time on the show and do prebuttals to anticipated deceptive editing.

Well duh. I saw an interview with Kevin Smith about his comic book shop series which is essentially Pawn Stars with geeky items. He talked about the casting call put out for the show, which is essentially going "Hey we're filming on these days, bring your cool shit." I imagine Pawn Stars is exactly the same way with all the employee "interactions" being staged. But I only really watch it for the cool historical stuff they get in on occasion anyways.
Now I've heard that those Storage Wars shows are really staged with the producers going into the storage units beforehand and sticking in a lot of the expensive "hidden gems"

I made my peace with mom, and a side effect of the coping with her is I read a LOT and was focused on being self-reliant as young as I could. The mentally ill do not choose to be that way, and even if I should have probably been with my dad instead it is long past and she has passed on. Best thing I ever did was make my peace with her and move on and enjoy what time we had left.
The therapy I went to after she died help me put her abuse in a perspective that none of my siblings have.
If I only ever impart one piece of advice to anyone it would be, "make you peace with your parents I have never seen anyone win an argument with a headstone.

I think it was just lack of sleep or something catching up to me. Had stayed up late and the writing muse kicked in. When I tried to go to sleep after that, the muse said 'write more!' So churned out in 40 minutes 731 more words, then the muse was satisfied for the moment. And then I started to feel ill. But once I slept a good solid five hours, all was right. And wrote another 1200 words.

Though I should relate one story from the writing group I am part of. Had this guy one time ask our opinion on his story. This guy had written this science fiction space opera. But he had like 6 pages of prologue to it. So I related what I had heard from the likes of Bill Fawcett and Lee Martindale, new authors should never ever ever have prologues. We honestly tried to help him, we were hearing a few good notes in his Rube Goldberg symphony. We kept stressing he should use those parts and rebuild his story. That it would be good. He never participated in our writers group ever again and he found a vanity publisher to publish his work.
I promise I wont go beserk with the red ink nor will I try what happened to another in our group. She was hiring a proofreader for $30/hour and this proofreader basically started to rewrite the whole story leaving no survivors. You will not suffer this from me.

So far churned out 3,499 words on story today. Finally getting into fun stuff. Getting story kick started was a trudge because I am dealing with classic damsel in distress and a bit of a world wise dame finding the damsel on her doorstep passed out. So first few pages are way awkward as they grapple with meeting each other and getting the plot going.

Been consuming several hours of shark programming today. The insanity of some of my fellow humans is astonishing. This is getting better every hour. Why isn't Ryan on top of the ticket?
Ya tad late on commenting on this but I just could not resist. Romney is on the top of the ticket because after a tough campaign with 20+ debates, attacks from both the right and the left (sometimes the same attack - thank you Newt and Perry for going OWS), and having to deal with right wing pundits who in '08 called him the conservative alternative and in '11 flip-flopped to call him a RINO - I think he EARNED it.
Don't get me wrong - love Ryan and think Mitt made a good choice, but I think Mitt deserves a break from the ABMs (anybody but Mitt not anti-ballistic missles). We need to focus on defeating Obama, not looking for someone to take Romney's place because he was not your pick in the primaries!
