Holder: Hey, How About I Turn Over A Few Emails?

I'm sure all the answers will be included in the emails Holder hand-selects for disclosure.

Attorney General Eric Holder on Thursday agreed to make what he called "an extraordinary accommodation" to Republicans investigating the botched "Operation Fast and Furious" by turning over department emails he has long insisted deal with internal deliberations and should be protected.

...

Issa's office said in an early response that Holder's letter "only seems to indicate a willingness to offer a selective telling" of key events and that the chairman is still asking the Justice Department to explain "how it is prepared to alter its opposition to producing subpoenaed documents."

...

In recent days, Issa narrowed his demands to focus on correspondence between department officials after they sent a now-retracted letter to Congress on Feb. 4, 2011. In that letter, the department inaccurately insisted: "ATF makes every effort to interdict weapons that have been purchased illegally and prevent their transportation to Mexico."

16 This Fast and Furious thing ain't goin nowhere.

Without the press behind the story, doing the kind of relentless flogging as happened with Watergate, there will never be enough public awareness to urge Republican reps and senators to action leading to a true contempt charge and successful vote.

Holder is just marking time. He can read the tea leaves, and will just keep playing rope a dope all the way to the election, and after that it won't matter.

I watched him taking Cornyn's fire the other day, and really, it looked as if Holder has already checked out, and is dreaming of how he will decorate his new office back at the law firm he left and to which he will return, where his annual comp package will be ten times what he scratches now as AJ.

I just came back from a Flag Day ceremony at my little town square.

They unfolded the flag/refolded it and read what each fold/unfold meant. I had never heard that before.

The tear jerker moment was when they presented it to a Vietnam Vet that clearly was in poor health and he held on to that flag with every ounce of love he had.

Still brings tears to my eyes.

25 16 -

You may be right, in that Holder knows, whether Obama is reelected or not, he'll get a Get-Out-Of-Jail free card from him.

But this isn't 1972, and actually the Dems were complaining at the time that the press wasn't interested in the little story of the break-in at the hotel until after Nixon was safely reelected. Obama is NOT going to be reelected, and Holder won't get to go back to Chicago (or whatever hole he crawled out of). I believe they'll follow this through, even if Obama has pardoned the AG already.

I wouldn't either, momma.

Issa started out, casting a 'broad net', in the material he asked for.
It's normal to do that, in an investigation.

Then, Holder repeatedly says...."That's burdensome. We can't just drop everything and dig up all that!"
So....Issa narrows his request to the areas where he knows the damaging stuff is.
And Holder doesn't even comply with that!

The result is....Holder's delays and stonewalling, pushes this into the Fall....in the heat of the election cycle, after they get back from recess.

Friend --

This is a make-or-break moment for middle-class Americans -- and anyone
who cares needs to watch the speech President Obama made in Cleveland
today.

In this election, we face a choice between two fundamentally different
visions of how to grow the economy. The path Mitt Romney and his
Republican allies want to take us down is exactly the one that led us to
the 2008 crisis. We have to reject those policies and embrace the
President's vision of growing the economy, not from the top down, but
from the middle class out.

Hear from President Obama in his own words, and sign on to the principles he laid out.

The choice couldn't be clearer on the issues most important to ordinary Americans:

- Better Education: We need to invest in good teachers and help more
students go to college and get job training -- not pack kids into
classrooms and slash scholarships.

- More, Cleaner Energy: We need to invest in promising new sources
of energy to create a market for innovation and good jobs of the future
-- not go back to relying on foreign oil.

- Leading Through Innovation: We need to invest in our best
scientists, researchers, and entrepreneurs so they innovate here -- not
cede new ideas to countries like China and India.

- Job-Creating Infrastructure: We need roads, bridges, ports, and
broadband technology that attract businesses that will create jobs here
-- not more pet projects and bridges to nowhere.

- Fair, Simple Tax Reform: We need to reward businesses that create
jobs here instead of rewarding outsourcing, and must ask the wealthiest
to pay their fair share again -- not sacrifice investments critical to
the middle class.

This economic crisis didn't
start in 2008. For more than a decade before, we knew things weren't
working the way they should. We saw costs for everything from health
care to education rising faster than wages. Good-paying, middle-class
jobs were becoming harder to find, as more and more companies moved
production overseas.

The other side's solution was the same then as it is now -- massive tax
cuts benefiting mainly the wealthy, rolling back regulations on risky
behavior for Wall Street and banks, and slashes to services that the
middle class depends on, like Medicare, education, and job training. A
decade ago, Bill Clinton left a record surplus. But the last
administration put two wars, two huge tax cuts, and the Medicare
prescription program on a credit card, and handed President Obama a
trillion dollar deficit and a raging economic crisis.

Incredibly, Romney and his allies want to go back to those same,
disastrous policies: budget-busting tax cuts for the wealthy and free
rein for Wall Street to write its own rules. We tried Mitt Romney's
failed formula for most of the last decade. It benefitted a few, but
exploded the deficit, crashed our economy, and devastated the middle
class. It didn't grow our economy, create good jobs, or pay down our
debt -- it did the opposite. And it won't work this time around either:
Independent economists confirm that Romney's plan wouldn't cut the
deficit, or even create a single job now -- in fact, it could slow
growth and push us back into recession.

Today the President laid out a very different vision, one where everyone
-- no matter who you are, where you're from, or how big your bank
account is -- pitches in together to rebuild the foundations of our
country and economy. Instead of another $250,000 tax cut for
millionaires, Obama believes we should pay down our debt and invest in
the things we know we need to grow the economy and strengthen the middle
class. That means restoring and upgrading our crumbling infrastructure,
investing in education, paying down our debt responsibly, and yes,
asking the wealthiest Americans to pay a little more. This approach
requires tough choices and shared sacrifice -- exactly how we built the
American economy in the first place.

As supporters, it's on us to get this message out there.

Watch
the President's speech, and share it with your friends, family -- heck,
share it with everyone you know. There's even a helpful printout you
can download and pass around:

Thanks,

David

106 Seriously, did you ever think the F&F clusterfuck response would get this far? Interrogating Holder over 9 sessions? With NO MSM coverage?

Issa has been slowly and surely building a case for a long time. He has gotten a lot of statements from DoJ and he has other evidence, witnesses, etc. we do NOT know about.

Rep. Gowdy, a former Fed prosecutor, has been hammering Holder with very specific questions, almost as if he has other information and is looking for a mis-statement.

Rep. Chaffetz has also hammered Holder and show what a scrunt Holder is.

Even 'Senator Corn' Grassley has gotten off his corrupt ass, worked with the House (where they have subpoena power) on F&F.

They have maneuvered it so a moment where this is coming up UNDER 6 MONTHS FROM THE ELECTIONS. Chance? I think not.

The problem with this NOT being a huge issue is solely the responsibility of the MSM. Those worthless liars do nothing but cover for their boyfriend Baraka.

Don't forget the deposition Issa got from Acting ATF head Melson with NO DoJ there. I don't think that testimony has ever been released.

107 Come on guys, Holder (Connected Black Democrat) will never receive a Contempt of Congress citation, be fined a dime, or spend an hour incarcerated for any of his misdeeds. It is a lovely dream though.

The guy who used it didn't know its racist use, and the guy who objected had never heard its literary use. Now we all know. No need to form a circular firing squad.

Gotta do a few covers they know sometimes to keep some of 'em happy.
And since I was such a pain earlier, the first verse to Dashboard Believer.

The smell of cigars, British Sterling and Brute
Front seat of daddy's in the days of my youth
Windows rolled down the radio moanin' old Hank
Daddy said the good ones could sing ya back home
One clear signal, you're never alone
Touch a mans very soul with 3 chords and the truth
My Sears transistor, sang me to sleep deep in the night
And I saw the light

Who can understand the ways of the Lord
I got my religion in a 68 Ford
Radio poets, come in through that cheap, receiver
I was young and I was angry, often alone
Searching for salvation with Haggard and Jones
I became a
Dashboard Believer

And so I'm not OT - holder sucks

140 Of course, I get back *now*.

Watergate didn't have a body count.

The DOJ committed acts of war against a neighboring allied nation in peacetime by deliberately supplying weapons in an uncontrolled fashion to narco-terrorists.

I want the department's files laid bare. I want everyone responsible prosecuted. IF they are pardoned by the President, I want them made to testify anyway, because we need to know the facts of the case to remind everyone of why we need to watch the people we elect and the people they appoint like they were paroled felons.

I wouldn't mind the MFM down on their damned knees begging for forgiveness for their part in the cover-up, but bankrupt and begging for change will be satisfactory.

The other phrase I've noticed, esp. from DWS and Bammy, is "make sure" or "making sure". Now you know that Sandra Fluke and SCOAMF don't use the word "folks" in daily parlance. Nobody does, except Bill O'Reilly (gag). Has anyone else noticed these two overused words/phrases in Dem talking points?
