AOSHQ Wisconsin Recall Projection (4/27/12)

A nail-biter, but not as bad as Prosser Vs Klopp:

Tom Barrett will win the Democratic nomination, beating Falk in the primary two Tuesdays from now. He will enjoy a boost in support from Democrats bent on revenge, but will be facing strong Republican turnout as well. Over 2.5 million votes will be cast. Walker wins, narrowly, as Milwaukee turnout fails to reach 2010 levels (but stronger than in the 2011 supreme court race). Several counties lost by Prosser flip back, narrowly.

Republicans hold 3 state senate seats out of 4 also up for grabs. The fourth is too close to call, potentially putting the Senate in the hands of the Democrats despite Walker's survival.

Marquette University will be releasing a new poll regarding the election next Wednesday. Data gathered will effect the official forecast, which has seen a slight dip in Walker's overall share of the vote (updated daily on the sidebar). So far the only likely voter poll was commissioned by Daily Kos and found Walker with a larger win of 50-45. I do believe there will be a unification "bounce" for the Democrat post-primary but not enough (at this time) to defeat the incumbent governor.

Off to bed in a minute but here's a FAQ about posting here.

Plz copy it into MS notepad and re-post whenever anybody asks/bitches about formatting:

Everybody needs to copy and follow this:

1) To avoid weird formatting (eg. breaks in the middle of a line and hidden HTML code) copy everything into MS notepad first, clean up any unwanted line breaks and then cut or copy it from notepad into the comment box.

2) For italics, bold, strike through and underline, do a search for BBCode and follow the instructions. Use brackets: [ ] instead of sideways carets: < >. Italics, bold, strike through and underline are the only codes accepted here. The commands for them are i, b, s and u, respectively.

3) The URL box (above the comments box) will accept just about any URL except TinyUrls. It probably will kick out other shortened URLs too, however, because I've never tried any other shortened URLs in the box I really don't know. Anything in the URL box that contains HTML coding will be rejected.

4) The name box will only accept names, do not try using HTML code in it.

Four simple rules that, if followed, will produce flawless posts that won't get rejected. The only screw up you can make is forgetting to close your tags.

The northern union types were just screwed by the Dems, who refused to vote for mining because they don't want new jobs created under Walker's watch. Believe me, that p.o.ed people. I think it will significantly effect the vote. People in the north are suffering.
Another thing: wait until debates. No matter what Dem it is, they're going to have a terrific time explaining to Walker in front of cameras just why Wisconsin taxes should go up so union thugs don't have to pay a thing for benes. I'm looking forward to the debates.

They could do that, but Walker's people are lobbying talk radio hard to not have people do this and try to get his own totals to surpass both Barrett and Falk. It also will make real turnout (and enthusiasm) on the Democrat side harder to gauge if there is a massive number of votes thanks to thousands of Rs trying to cause mischief. If most R's turn out and vote in their primary, and most Ds turn out and vote in their primary, a clearer picture of who has the umph comes into focus.

There is also a faux Republican in the Republican primary running against Walker, so while the threat of him getting it is remote it would look bad to have anything less than near-perfect performance in his own primary.
