Oily: Obama Claims Credit For Pipeline He's Blocked

Trans-Canada is going forward with the southern half of the Keystone Pipeline, because they don't need administration approval for that half.

Obama, of course, has blocked the northern half, the half that actually connects to Canadian oil fields.

So what does Obama do? He goes to where the pipeline is being built, over his objection, and claims credit.

"It takes a special kind of politician to be able to hold a photo-op for a project he’s rejected – twice – and personally lobbied members of Congress to block. The American people are in for just such a spectacle today, as the president continues his tour de farce public relations adventure," House Speaker John Boehner said on Thursday.

President Barack Obama, making a campaign stop in Cushing, Okla., will declare his support for the southern section of the Keystone XL pipeline -- which will not connect to Canada's oil supply unless Obama approves the critical northern portion, which he has twice refused to do.

According to Boehner, Obama "will strain all credibility" on Thursday "by declaring his unwavering support for a private-sector project that he’s single-handedly prevented from being completed."

The extra crude is primarily coming from North Dakota/Montana's huge Bakken formation. This the main source of new drilling in the US, on private land, that the SCoaMF is busy taking credit for.

He's such a lying dishonest crapweasel. Kudos to Boehner for calling him out on this farce. But don't worry, the MFM will tote his water once again like always.

Assuming what he did was not in any way justified, so what? It's an isolated incident. No more, no less. Sharpton and the leftists use shit like this to rub our faces in Critical Race Theory.

Black youth are killed by each other by the hundreds on a monthly basis and Al Sharpton says not a damned thing.

Posted by: Joe Biden at March 22, 2012 04:07 PM (QKKT0)

217 Only thing I can come up with for the $1.25 per barrel line is the marginal cost of producing a barrel, ignoring all fixed costs, amortization, transporting, regulatory fees, environmental expenses, etc. If you take out all the related costs that actually should and do factor into the price of oil, perhaps you get a marginal cost of $1.25? Of course, with Barky never having had to deal with the real world and real business, I wouldn't be surprised if he's as surprised at the other costs as he is that his green initiatives could never produce permanent jobs.

I'm sure the MBM will find some way to explain that "the smartest President ever" wasn't wrong on this. It will be BS, but still.

Posted by: Virginia SoCon at March 22, 2012 04:07 PM (+/C3g)

Teens set kid on fire for being 'white boy'

Sunday, March 04, 2012

A 13-year-old boy who police say was doused with gasoline and lit on
fire last week while walking home from school is recovering from
first-degree burns to his face and head.
The boy was just two
blocks from his home in Kansas City Tuesday when two teenagers began to
follow him and then attacked him, his mother, Melissa Coon, said.
Police have described the suspects as black 16-year-olds, while the victim is white.
"We were told it's a hate crime," Coon told KTLA.

Cushing, OK is a huge oil storage depot. The southern pipeline is to connect it to the refineries on the gulf coast. The construction has been in the works for a while now. Jug Ears has nothing to do with it. They don't need his "fast track" approval I listened to the speech on local radio. It lasted no more than 10 minutes and the only applause I heard was when he made local references.

302 hmmmm job's revised pipeline plan --

1. Each state build its own section of the pipeline, keeping all parts of it completely within its borders.
2. At the northern end of each state's section of the pipeline, have a large open tank located about one foot from its border.
3. At. the southern end of each state's section of the pipeline, have a high pressure pump that shoots the oil into the open tank in the next state.

Regulatory issues rendered moot!

I put up a comment or two about this yesterday. Salazar was interviewed by Melissa Francis on FBN, and it was like the guy had been living in another country. She asked him if he agreed with the President's decision to block the pipeline, and he acted like no such thing had happened, and he didn't know what she was talking about. He babbled something about part of italready being built (which was apparently a preview into today's events).

He also added something which I think has been otherwisemissed here. They're sticking with the story that "they just wanted more time to study it". They're saying they won't be done with the additional study until (do I even have to tell you?) nextMarch.

So they're actuallyin full denial about trying to block the thing.

You know there is a guy making lots of money in the oil business, I think he just under 30. He borrowed money from his family and went out on his own with his new ideas and they were good ideas, he was a success. Every one of the old oil guys including his dad said he was nuts.

this is the problem with the republicans....you need to listen to new ideas, paul ryan is the only guy out there willing to step up with new ideas. Others are remaining quiet as they've been hounded by the olde guarde. This is why you have a bunch of old white guys running against an incumbent who should by all accounts be losing and he isn't.

375 Do we know he followed him around, or is that what the rabble rousers or the kid's family are claiming?
-----
We know he followed him around, per the NRO summary linked at the ONT which cites the 911 tape. Zimmerman was on the phone with dispatcher to report the kid. First he was driving and following him, then he got out of the car and starts chasing him. The dispatcher told him that they didn't need him to do that, but he continued.

I still don't think this is a federal case (yes, I understand the politics, but in terms of the reality of the situation, it doesn't seem like one). And I think the District Atty is at least as culpable as the police/sheriff.

409 It doesn't matter who is screaming on that tape. What matters is he decided to leave his vehicle to chase someone on foot who had not committed a crime and was not a threat to him or anyone else. That part seems clear from the 911 call tape report.

And, before there was any altercation, he was advised to not pursue the kid, acknowledged that advice (from the police dispatcher), but chose to continue his pursuit.

That said, I can see why there would be a delay in arresting him because he doesn't sound like he was a flight risk and because there was a grey-area created by that law. 'Seems like the lawyers took too long to advice the police.

reeducation funding for people in her situation."

Ok, your mom supposedly has two college degree's and can't find a job? Uh-huh. Well, I guess next time she might think about opting for a degree that actually has a practical use. I'm sure that she probably has a degree in something like Women's Studies. Not a lot of job opportunities out there for degrees like this, and you would think a woman smart enough to get two degrees would have figured that out. Maybe not the first time she went to college, but certainly by the second.

"Me? I’m an indebted college student with major health problems. Because of Obamacare though, by the time I’m no longer covered by my

Gosh, thanks moron. Lets see, your mom is unemployed and basically unemployable, and apparently so is your dad. So you get to the point where your able to make a living and maybe bring home some money and help out the family, and what do you do?

You do the same thing your worthless father does, run off to college and start piling on major debt, instead of getting out in the real world and getting your hands dirty for a change. You go hide in ivy halls and expect the rest of us to pay for you and your deadbeat family.

Look, digging ditches isn't glamorous. Neither is what I do for a living. But I'm not 10 grand plus in debt and I'm not expecting anyone else to foot he bill for me or my family. I go to work everyday and I put up with a lot of nonsense but I bring home a decent paycheck and I make do with what I have.

416 Oh, quick though on the Zimmerman thing while I'm at it.. lol

Seems to me that if this were two white guys, or two black guys, or two Hispanic guys - well, this never would have made the national news at all.

If the lamestream media couldn't put this through there race meme generators they would have zero interest in this story from the get go, so as a result I'm rather skeptical of what has been reported thus far to say the least.

I have a feeling that a lot of stuff has been left out or hasn't been reported because it doesn't fit with whatever meme the lamestream media is trying to present here, which is pretty much par for course.

So me I'm reserving judgement at least for now, until more facts are in - I do find it pretty interesting that the local police decided not to charge him. I have to figure that they probably know a lot more about what happened that night than has been reported, so that I do find very curious.

Just my 2 cents worth of course, YMMV

"After taking office in 2003,(Romney) combined the state’s transportation, environment, and housing departments into a single “Office for Commonwealth Development” under the command of Doug Foy, a prominent local environmentalist who was known to commute to work 20 miles by bike. Together, Romney and Foy pushed for legislation to channel new development into existing communities, thereby reducing the need for new road construction and the car dependence of Massachusetts residents. They put forward a sweeping “Climate Protection Plan” in 2004, which included, among many other things, calls for more car-pooling, public transit and tax breaks for motorists who bought hybrid vehicles. Clean energy was the future, Romney declared at a conference in 2005: “This is an industry that is going to be explosive in its growth in the next decade.”"

Simple, it's not their child. If it was their child and the police just threw up there hands, I dare say they might scream bloody murder. Zimmerman called the police and should have observed from his SUV until the police arrived. He decided to confront someone who WASN'T COMMITTING A CRIME, he initiated this incident and the result is a dead young man.
I jog at night, I am a black male and if you approach me, your not a police officer and ask me what I am doing there. I might tell you to f off, you see it's not your business. If you have a problem with me being there, call the police and let them handle it. If you put your hands on me that's assault andI will beat your ass (defend myself)! If you shoot me, pray you kill me. You see, I don't know who or what your intentions are.
I understand some are put off by the fact that poverty pimps and race hustlers will exploit this, but I would like to think we are better than they are. I think you'll find that most people agree with you that, if the factsconfirm what they seem to suggest so far (that an overzealous Zimmerman followed the kid and aggressively confronted him, causing the kid to fear for his own life), then letting Zimmerman walk away is completely unacceptable.
That said, I do wish everyone would take a step back and let the investigators find whatever evidence they can find. We're still supposed to have a presumption of innocence in this country, and it's a bit early for anyone to be calling for Zimmerman's scalp.
People can express their sorrowover theyoung man'sdeath, and their outrage at the senselessness of it, without prematurely condemning Zimmerman. If the evidence shows he should be charged with murder, then he should be so charged and tried by a jury, just like any other defendant.
