Won't You Help?

This is the worst recession anyone has seen in decades. Many people have lost their jobs, their homes, and their businesses.
The price of fuel is spiking, and food is high too.

Most of us are holding it together, hanging in there, taking care of ourselves and family, cutting back on all non-essentials, and making do without a lot of things that we used to take for granted.

But some people can't take care of themselves. They just can't.
We need to help them.

"Hello, I'm Sally Struthers. I should be standing in a peaceful, empty field, but instead I'm surrounded by annoying, noisy children.

I'm just saying. Kids suck."

"Ah, that's better. Look at this picture. This is Sandra. Sandra is a well paid 'Reproductive Justice' activist and isn't having any difficulty surviving, but she vaguely remembers hazy anecdotes, or made up a statistic recently, asserting that some of her wealthy friends at law school occasionally feel a slight pinch in their short-term cash flow.

It is an intolerable crime that this poor, wealthy a**hole was forced to tell a huge whopper of a lie like that in front of Congressional Democrats, just because some intolerant godbags aren't hip to paying for other people's punanipills.

Please- won't you help Sandra help the US Government to abrogate the responsibilities and rights of all Americans?

Call your Congressman today, and demand a tyrannical top-down command economy."

Elizabeth put out a new ad. She lies as well as Obama lies. In the ad, she completely unequivocally contradicts herself.

Here's the transcript. I will bold the blatant contradiction for yous.

Hi. I’m Elizabeth Warren. A few days ago I watched a Congressional hearing about birth control, where the panel of experts did not include even one woman.

Wow. Washington really doesn’t get it.

Now, the Senate is about to vote on a new law, proposed by Republicans, that allows your employer or insurance company to claim a vague ‘moral conviction’ to deny you contraception or any health care coverage they want.

This new law threatens women’s access to contraception, mammograms, even maternity care. It’s just plain wrong.

This isn’t about the rights of religious institutions. We must respect those rights, President Obama already made sure that religious institutions can’t be forced to cover birth control. But the President also made sure that women can get the health care they need. That's the right approach.

Posted by: Soothsayer at March 03, 2012 03:37 PM (jUytm)

46 Another type of fluke (PetMD):

The cat liver fluke, also known as Opisthorchis felineus, is a
trematode parasite that lives in water. It hitches a ride with an
intermediate host, typically the land snail, which is then ingested by
another intermediate host, such as the lizard and frog. It is at this
point that a cat will eat the host (i.e., the lizard), becoming infected
with the organism. The fluke makes its way into the biliary tract and
liver, leading to a diseased state.

Sandra's name should be Kitty Fluke.

Think about it, if a woman gets pregnant, she can have an abortion for a couple of hundred bucks.

If she keeps the baby, WIC, welfare, the whole works. But the father is on the hook for 18 years+ of support with no rights to see the child.

Birth control has always been about mens' sexual freedom.

Ok, O/T, I'm just gonna go ahead and say this, come what may...

Why is AB being canonised by all you good people here? No doubt he did some good things for the cause... the exposure of ACORN and the massive appeal of the Drudge report being the two big ones... but that video of him yelling at OWSers at CPAC just shows him being an idiot.

I feel the same about thisRush incident. Calling Fluke a slut was stupid and not a way to gain credibility for the conservative cause. I was listening when Rushsaid it and it didn't come off as a joke to me... he was doing fine arguing the fact that no one needs to spend a grand a year on contraception, making the left look ridiculous etc. then he puts his foot into his mouth. No need for personal insults to accomplish this... It is possible to argue with the left without resorting toname calling or spouting incomprehensible bile like AB outside of CPAC, yes?

Why are many conservatives acting as if AB was some kind of a second coming that was sure to lead us to the promised land? No doubt his widow and kids deserve our prayers and well wishes, but the guy, to me, didn't seem all that much of a happy warrior. Frankly, I hadn't heard of him until three or four years ago, so how is it that we are all Brietbart now? Rush and Buckley had much more to do with changing me over from an indoctrinated liberal into a full fledged conservative/libertarian that is unaffraid to argue against the lefts bullshit. Maybe we should leave the ridiculous lionisation of political people to the left and just say the guy fought the good fight for the most part was a good guy for the most part and may he R.I.P. Nuff said.

I apologize in advance to anyone reading this that takes it as a personal insult or some kind of an attack on AB or Rush. These conservative heroscan and ofter do dowrong and should be called out on it.

190 Here's a possible response when a GOP/candidate is asked about Fluke/Limbaugh.

Rush Limbaugh is a media personality and not an elected official his words are his own.

We will not be distracted from what the real agenda is and that's the erosion of Constitutional Rights one flawed law at time.

Ms. Fluke puts forth the proposition that women like her, attending expressly religious institutions, have an inalienable right to contraception that trumps the institutions explicit constitutional rights to the free exercise of religion and would like nothing more than to have the awesome power of the government to command these institutions violate their conscience.

Ms. Fluke and others who posit this are wrong in their belief, as no less an expert on the constitution, Thomas Jefferson said, "No provision in our Constitution ought to be dearer to man than that which protects the rights of conscience against the enterprise of civil authority."

These usurpations will not be allowed to continue, we will fight them, as we are compelled to do.

192 Why would an activist like Sandra Fluke be going to a Catholic-affiliated University in the first place? ......To stir up shit, of course. ....One might even surmise that she went there expressly to further her cause.

The SlutWalk movement that started last year, grew and has had many 'slutwalks' to further their message, which is basically: ..."We are free to be as slutty as we wanna be, and the government must protect us from any repercussions of our slutiness!"

From the DC Slutwalk website, they have Demands:

WE DEMAND:
I. Rape Kits in all health care facilities that receive public funding, including hospitals, community clinics, and college health centers.
II. Defy Congress and restore DC funding for reproductive health services, including abortion.
III. Mandatory and comprehensive LGBT training, sexual assault sensitivity training and domestic violence prevention and training.
IV. Decriminalize sex work and overturn the no prostitution zones which unfairly targets Transgender Women.
V. Public awareness campaign about the rights of undocumented immigrant women to report domestic violence, harassment, and sexual assault.

The MFM reports one absurd case after another so matter-of-factly that it becomes disingenuous to call it news and not agenda. They are either flooding the public consciousness in order to break down barriers or informing the public, but each requires a different context which they either don't provide or obscure by default.

Thank you Soothsayer for proving my point. Because the best way to get someoneon the left to listen to the conservative side of an argument is to call them a slut on National radio. Or to call them a rapist as loudly as possible outside CPAC. Lol. The fact that I disagree with these tactics, and think it makes conservatives look foolish and doesn't advance our ideas or policies, ipso facto, takes away my conservative credentials. Well done sir.

I love reading Mark Steyn, he can skewer the left like no other, but, he doesn't need to resort to name calling to make his points. Ditto for Walter Williams, Thomas Sowell, the late great B. Buckley etc. etc. etc. There is a way to be increadibly sarcastic and effective in ridiculing the left and their marxist/socialist/liberal policies without resorting to personal attacks.

I understand the desire to do that, and ofter get a kick out of many of the snastiest snarky posts on this blog aimed at the left, but the people posting on this blog aren't getting media attention for their every utterance like Rush is. Rush should know better by now not to do this kind of thing. He's hated by the left for simply pointing out the truth about the left and being effective in doing so.Hedoesn't need to add gasoline to that fire with calling some vapidrent seaker a slut. Just sayin'.

I can't wait for the brilliant Paul Ryan to call Pelosi a slut to advance his argument for reducing spending and the benefits of a balance budget next time he's in conference. It will be sure to make headlines and advance the conservative cause. And you, soothsayer, will be behind this brilliant argument all the way.

I can't wait for Mark Steyn to call Obama a rapist next time he writes an article about the ridiculousness of OWS and the whole radical left and how Obama is their number one apologist. That will surely advance the cause of conservatives and make the left see the light.

I guess I'm just an idiot and a dunce like you said. What could I possibly do to change your mind soothsayer. Maybe I could call Kathleen Sebelius a WHORE! on youtube... that would be a sure fire way to get the left to see the way socialism destroys every country where it's tried... will that get you to believe I'm a conservative? Sure it will! Cause only true conservatives call their opponents names to advance their arguments!

You're really making a fool of yourself. Limbaugh has never hesitated to use derogatory terms. That is his style. Get over it.

Your argument is nonsensical. Fluke's testimony spoke directly to her sexual habits and that she felt entitled to support for purely optional activities. By her own testimony she cannot control her sexual urges and must have access to birth control regardless of her financial state. (The need for the same substances for treating ailments is a needless distraction as it doesn't fall under the subject of birth control. Just because homicides have been committed with hammers it doesn't make the tool department at Sears the equivalent of a gun store.) She volunteered this and made it a matter of public knowledge. The issue here is whether the full facts get out to those in the middle, that the core of this issue is people expecting others to pick up the tab for their recreational activities. The other critical aspect is the Democrat's eagerness to distort and outright lie on one subject to avoid discussing another on which they know they have little support.

Creating a controversy pushes the conversation onto a larger stage. The job from here is for each every one of us to push the facts.

"vapidrent seaker" At least when you call names you're original. Is that really what you meant to write?

@219
Yes indeed. Fluke made a fool out of herself in her testimony and should be called out on it. Rush was calling her out and doing fine until he called her a slut... I don't see how my argument is invalid. I'm saying calling her a slut isn't going to advance the conservative argument against insurance paying for her contraception which no doubt is much lower than a thousand bucks a year. She is a fraud and should be called out but calling someone a slut is not an argument and is not a way to bring about a consensus on eliminating these unfunded mandates on insurance companies that cause premiums to rise through the roof. Calling someone a vapid rent seakerwas my example of notusing words like slut or whore to make the unmisstakable point that Ms. Fluke is a socialist/marxist/liberal that demands her "free" stuff be paid for by someoneelse.

I don't think I'm making a fool out of myself at all. Thanks for thinking of me that way though. You must be a wonder in a debate with a leftist. You're position is wrong because you're a slut! Yep. That'll get em to your side.
