Apparently she doesn't believe Obama when he claims that is also his official stance.

Funny thing about liberals and the media. They all behave as if Obama is actually pro-gay-marriage, and yet when the issue comes up, and the rubes are listening, they all say "But Obama's against gay marriage too!"

120 I think the reason most gays prefer Obama over the alternatives is because he's proved willing to move the bar toward equal rights for gays despite his opposition to equal marriage rights. Ending Don't Ask, Don't Tell, abandoning DOMA as unconstitutional, and promoting LGBT rights abroad are milestones on the road to equality. I don't think gay rights are likely to be at issue in the election, although the issue may still motivate some conservative primary voters.

People don't really decide about their sexual identity in a vacuum. Those who find their sexual interests in opposition to their biological (as in the phenotype of their sexual organs) most often struggle with the issue before reaching some resolution, whatever it is that allows them to continue their lives. Science will eventually elucidate the underlying biological phenomena.

I am also a Catholic and in this one area I find myself partially at odds with my church. But most theologians are not psychiatrists and do not have the advantage of the contact with suffering people which is vital to understanding.
