If the left wants a revolution, well, fine; then I guess we'll agree we need a revolution. But which path? I'll choose the right-hand path over the left-hand path. Notice how quickly the left's claimed "neutral" objection to radical politics and lack of compromise and a spirit of revolution has dissipated. Their objection was "neutral," they maintained, because they weren't taking a position (they claimed) on the political substance of this or that agenda item; they were just in favor of the supposedly politically-neutral value of incrementalism, bipartisanship, and moderation. But they're disposing of that false pretense now. Now they're in favor of revolution, so long as it's of the socialist variety. An awful lot turns on 2012.Comments

The more isolated you are, the better your chances of not being displaced, so that's a plus to all the folks living in rural areas. The real ugliness is going to happen in large cities where people are in close proximity to each other. After a time, you'll have whole city blocks become homogeneous because those who were outnumbered in the very beginning will have fled or died.

Back in the War for Southren Independence the two sides were still roughly geographically separated.
We are now two nations sharing a common land and all mixed up together.
It will be more bloody than anything in human history so far IMO.
You'd
have the equivalent of block wars happening at the neighbourhood and
state county levels. The more isolated you are, the better your chances
of not being displaced, so that's a plus to all the folks living in
rural areas. The real ugliness is going to happen in large cities where
people are in close proximity to each other. After a time, you'll have
whole city blocks become homogeneous because those who were outnumbered
in the very beginning will have fled or died.

If it actually gets to that point where there's organized deadly violence, it'll start low-level and nasty. Kind of like flash mobs, except with guns and explosives.And then it will expand from there. Everyone will be compelled to be armed one way or the other (which in itself is not a bad thing).
The police, if they do anything, will be helpless, rendered to just a clean-up crew, thanks to PC litigation laws. We won't be seeing much help from them.
The level of mistrust among fellow citizens (which will probably be the most heartbreaking aspect of all of this), unless they belong to a known defense element, will reach a point where it very may not exist at all.

JEA since I suspect you've never even met a multiple-black-belt martial artist and since I one and personally know several hundred others here is a tip for you: All but one of the ones I've met are Republicans.
You see it takes years of dedication, discipline and hard work to earn a high rank in the martial arts.. Those are all qualities the OWS protestors lack; years, dedication discipline and a desire to work hard.

American anarchist Voltairine de Cleyre wrote a famous essay called "Direct Action" in 1912[2] which is widely cited today. In this essay, de Cleyre points to historical examples such as the Boston Tea Party and the American anti-slavery movement, noting that "direct action has always been used, and has the historical sanction of the very people now reprobating it."[3] In his 1920 book, Direct Action, William Mellor placed direct action firmly in the struggle between worker and employer for control "over the economic life of society."
