$10 Million of Your "Stimulus" Money Went to... Arming Mexican Gangsters Via Project Gunrunner?

Woody Allen had a joke in Sleeper about the NRA. Called to explain what the NRA was to an oblivious girl from the far future, Allen said, "The NRA used to help criminals get guns so they could, you know, shoot citizens. Kind of a public service."

I always thought that was a good joke, even if, politically, I didn't agree with it.

But we can now explain the Stimulus to future generations, too.

There are funny Woody Allen bits. That isn't one of them. It purports to show a contradiction, but it doesn't even exist in this case. When has the NRA as a criminal aid society ever been part of the zeitgeist? What an unfunny stretch.

26 I brought this up before and I still say it is valid. I have heard the explanations for how this program was suppose to work and its purpose. It doesn't make any sense. At all. Through an informant, they were supposed to track these guns into Mexico, yada, yada. That is so much bullshit. Hundreds, maybe thousands of guns and through an informant they were going to track these guns. Even if everything they have said about the program worked perfectly and Superman and Capt. America were part of the program, they wouldn't have been able to track all of the guns until they had been used to kill people. Bottom line is that the stated purpose of this program was not the real purpose of the program. This isn't original but in my opinion the purpose of this program was to kill people. To have so many people killed by guns that would have been tracked back to gun sales in the U.S. that would have caused such an uproar that politicians would have jumped at the chance to clamp down on gun ownership.

29 If Holder goes, the next in line is likely James Cole. Now, Mr. Cole was a recess appointment in Dec. since the Senate wouldn't let his nomination through as Deputy AG. Also, he was one of three peeps allowed to be confirmed so that Melson would be permitted to testify b4 Issa Co. (which he did anyhow with his own lawyer as was heavily reported).

Cole has numerous skeletons in his closet. At a minimum, he would become acting AG until a new AG could be nominated/confirmed (I admit this is conjecture on my part).

Still, I would wave happily at Mr. Holder as the door at the DOJ firmly slammed into his ass on the way out forever.

The Mexican government obviously doesn't give a shit how

41 There is no rational explanation for the actions of the ATF, DEA, FBI, etc. here. None, Nada, Zilch. No drug cartel supplier is going to come to the US when he can full auto weapons, grenades, and such from corrupt military sources cheaper and easier. If the ATF forced the gun dealers to release full auto weapons so that they could walk, there is even more violation of Federal law (not that that counts for much with EH at DoJ. No US entity has enforcement authority within Old Mexico, so that aspect of the story is indefensible as well.

That means no one in the bureaucracy had a chance to plan "Operation Gunrunner". There was no time,
(8 days!) and nobody home. And an operation like this takes more than 8 days to plan and put it in the bill. That means it had to be planned before Obama took office and it could only come from Obama, his inner circle, and key Democrats close to the President. While everyone else was focused on the horrible state of the economy, Obama and his minions were planning Gunrunner. It had to be a top priority. Way to focus like a laser beam!

The whole thing reeks of massive COORDINATION. The 90% claim of guns being sold to Mexico first came from Feinstein and Durbin March 17, then Hilary, March 26, then Napalitano , then Obama April 17, then the Mexican ambassador. All got the same dishonest memo " from ATF". Bullcrap. I'll bet there never was that memo. It was all made up and planned way in advance.
