Obama's Absolutely Unbelievable Press Conference

I meant to get to this earlier but...meh, stuff happens.

There were so many choice moments from today's presser, I wanted to highlight a couple.

First, on Libya....Obama basically questioned the patriotism of anyone who has any questions about his little adventure.

We have engaged in a limited operation to help a lot of people against one of the worst tyrants in the world -- somebody who nobody should want to defend -- and we should be sending a unified message to this guy that he should step down and give his people a fair chance to live their lives without fear. And this suddenly becomes the cause célèbre for some folks in Congress? Come on.

First...who is defending Gadaffi? No one.

Second...Remember when Obama demanded that Democrats like himself stop criticizing Bush over Iraq lest it send something other than "a unified message" to Saddam or al Qaeda in Iraq?

And finally...standing up for the constitutional role of Congress in matters of war and peace is a "cause célèbre". This is how the President of the United States views the constitutional responsibilities of a co-equal branch of government.

I bet that the day a Republican becomes President the MFM is going to rediscover their distaste for an "imperial President". Not until then though.

On the economy Obama has a sure fire way to solve the deficit...eliminate tax credits for "corporate jets". Obama used those words, "corporate jets" six times. I'm guessing that focus grouped well as the enemy du jour.

Nathan Wurtzel found a funny thing about that tax break? The Democrats and Obama put it in there so-called "stimulus".

Just a few months after lawmakers scolded auto executives for flying to Washington in private jets, Congress approved a tax break in the stimulus package to help businesses buy their own planes.

The incentive -- first used to help plane makers recover from the 2001 terror attacks -- sharply reduces the up front tax bill for companies who buy assets like business planes.

The aviation industry, which is cutting jobs as it suffers from declining shipments and canceled orders, hopes the tax break in the economic-stimulus bill just signed by President Barack Obama will persuade more companies to buy planes and snap a slump in general aviation that began last year.

Obama's tone was sharp and confrontational, espeically regarding Congress. Several times he challenged Congress to step up as he claims he has and lead.

And so there’s no point in procrastinating. There’s no point in putting it off. We’ve got to get this done. And if by the end of this week, we have not seen substantial progress, then I think members of Congress need to understand we are going to start having to cancel things and stay here until we get it done.

They're in one week, they're out one week. And then they're saying, Obama has got to step in. You need to be here. I’ve been here. I’ve been doing Afghanistan and bin Laden and the Greek crisis. You stay here. Let’s get it done.

Look, he did like 3 things, can't he finish his waffle? And just out of curiosity, how much time and effort did it take Obama to do bin Laden? It must have been the years of training to become a SEAL and weeks of mission prep plus a couple of days to fly over to Pakistan put a couple of caps in that SOB and fly back.

And he managed to fit that in between all his rounds of golf and 30 fundraisers around the country.

Here's Obama on how he demonstrates leadership (which is apparently lacking in Congress).

And I’ve got to say, I’m very amused when I start hearing comments about, well, the President needs to show more leadership on this. Let me tell you something. Right after we finished dealing with the government shutdown, averting a government shutdown, I called the leaders here together. I said we’ve got to get done -- get this done. I put Vice President Biden in charge of a process -- that, by the way, has made real progress -- but these guys have met, worked through all of these issues.

Real leadership is...putting Joe Biden in charge.

And immediately after this presser, Obama got down to the series business of...holding a Rose Garden ceremony to honor the WNBA champs.

Obama wrapped up his presser by talking about a company he recently visited in Iowa.

I was in Alcoa, in Iowa, one of our most successful companies. They took a big hit during the recession, but they still invested $90 million in new equipment in a plant that makes airplane wings and parts for automobiles. And they’ve bounced back. They’ve hired back all their people and are increasing market share because they made those investments.

Well, I hope they don't make wings for those evil corporate jets.

This was just a taste of what President Wonderful had to say today. It was his usual mix of arrogant, misleading and petulant. He can't get tossed out of the office soon enough.

1 Amen.

There are many parts of that press conference that a competent GOP opponent can hang around his neck.

It was a disgrace.

2 How about the part where President Pull-ups asserted how hard he'd been working on the deficit because he met with all the caucuses "for an hour to an hour and a half each."
So...four caucuses--two for each house of Congress X 1.5 hours = 6 hours.
Not even a full work day.
And President Pull-ups thinks he's done all the work he needs to do on the deficit.
Think about that.
6 hours. Whew! Hard at work. Hard at work.
Has there ever been a lazier, more useless, do-nothing piece of shit leading any country EVER?

11 I hate it when he tries to tell passive-aggressive jokes like he did with the guys in Congress not being in town all the time. The man cannot tell a joke. The media laughed, but really it was just to get him to shut up because if he thinks he has to joke about something, he'll go on and on and on and on until somebody laughs.

If the next Republican president can manage

*8% unemployment
*1 trillion dollars per year deficits
*2.99$ or less gas
*5% per year insurance hikes
*less then 5 million per year new illegals
*starts wars with congressional approval
*golfs only 50 times a year
*Wife travels with only 300k $ entourage
etc...

He/She will have been superior to Obama(s) in every major way, the left will still foam and scream, but the American people will remember how bad it was for decades like they did with Carter. That is a pretty low bar that I literally think Puxsatawney Phil from Groundhog Day if elected could manage merely by staying in his hole, being single, not signing any new legislation, and not starting any new wars.

32 It's Big Brother against Emmanuel Goldstein.
First, Emmanuel Goldstein was Bush. Sure, Bush doesn't look Jewish, but those Texas carpet-baggers like the Bushes are tricky. Very Tricky.
Then it was the Banks. Notice how some of the Clever People call them "Banksters", like gangsters? Pretty clever. And to top it off, some of the "banksters" probably WERE Jewish, so there you go, they were like Emmanuel Goldstein.
Then a new hope, er, bad guy appeared, it was BP! They were sorta British, sorta not-Americans (sorta like Barack Obama, huh?), and the various executives got to take turns being Emmanuel Goldstein. Fun times, remember that?
And then Recovery Summer, so romantic, like "Splendor in the Grass" - okay, kind of an old fogey reference there. And there was sorta a hiatus with Emmanuel Goldstein-stuff. No not really. There were always new enemas, er enemies for Barack to tilt against. And there was always the nefarious Sarah!, not a Jewish Princess, but a good stand in for Emmanuel Goldstein, in a pinch.
And on, and on. John Boehner as Emmanuel Goldstein. Eric Cantor (well, he IS a Jew!), Rick Walker (not a Jew- A Nazi!), and now and then, Moammar Ghadafi (whatever!), evil mass murderer of the 21st century (not to be confused with Saddam Hussein, who was a real mass murderer and a total psychopath- but I digress).
And now, after all, Emmnaul Goldstein is you and me- we haven't stepped up to save America. Curse us all for being unworthy of Barack Obama. How Democratic, how fair and just. How post-modern!
Truth is lies
Ignorance is strength
And we have always been at war with Lybia (well sorta- that's sorta true, actually). Why can't we pick on Iran, though? I mean they're gonna have nukes soon, and probably start a big war. Why?

Unfortunately, that's essentially what has happened over the last four years, and -- well, remember this old chestnut?

Newt Gingrich:

In 1984, when Dole suggested that a tax increase could be necessary to
reduce the deficit, Gingrich called Dole "the tax collector for the
welfare state." [WP, 11/19/84]

The clear strategy of the Dems is to run up the US MasterCard to the max, up the limit and run it up again, then run it up some more.....until a Republican is elected. Then start whining for that poor schmuck to pay off the balance. The longer that that it goes on, the worse the outcome -- and if we up the limit any more, we're a nation of idiots (unless we intentionally default immediately afterward).

You know that person you've worked with who, instead of just doing his job and solving problems, is always talking about how someone else created the problem. Is always making excuses. That person that is always looking for someone else to blame. That person that everyone despises. Well, that person should run for president, because he'd be a big improvement over this dick.

63 What killed me about his televised bitch conference was how he kept trying to pass off lame hypocritical Jonathan Stuart Leibowitz-style jokes - as if the White House is the proper place for such arrogant faux-cynicism - and the whole while the DC press corpse is snickering at all of his unfunniness, like a bunch of pathetic infatuated 9th-graders. With such a cheerleading and sychophantic press, it's amazing our country has survived as long as it has.

The rational side of me knows that any remotely plausible Republican candidate will mop the floor with this jackass come 2012. But then the irrational side of me remembers that the Republican Party establishment thrives on nominating the most implausible candidate.

If we fail to take the GOP from the ground up, and primary every last one of the go along, get along gold diggers, I fear our country is lost. What killed me about his televised bitch conference was how he kept
trying to pass off lame hypocritical Jonathan Stuart
Leibowitz-style jokes - as if the White House is the proper place for
such arrogant faux-cynicism - and the whole while the DC press corpse is
snickering at all of his unfunniness, like a bunch of pathetic
infatuated 9th-graders. With such a cheerleading and sychophantic
press, it's amazing our country has survived as long as it has.

But it was so pathetic. He couldn't tell the jokes right and kept waiting and waiting for a laugh, saying the same stupid things over and over again.

Then they laughed because they knew that was the only way to get him to shut up and move on.

President Obama, who has expressed his fears about his daughter Malia
becoming a teenager next month, is apparently dreading her birthday so
much that for a brief moment on Wednesday, he thought she had already
turned 13.
At a press conference at the White House, Obama
suggested that his daughters, who “generally finish their homework a day
ahead of time,” could serve as role models for members of Congress.
“Malia’s
13, Sasha’s 10,” the president said, even though 12-year-old Malia
still has a few days to go until her July 4 birthday. “It is impressive.
They don’t wait until the night before. They’re not pulling
all-nighters. They’re 13 and 10.”
In a recent interview on “Good
Morning America,” Obama expressed his anxieties about Malia’s upcoming
birthday. “I’m not anticipating complete mayhem for the next four or
five years, but I understand teenage-hood is complicated,” Obama said.
“I
should also point out that I have men with guns that surround them
often, and a great incentive for running for reelection is that it means
they never get in the car with a boy who had a beer, and that’s a
pretty good thing,” he added. And the beer and car thing is just creepy. "Re-elect me so you can pay for the Secret Service to raise my children."

If at the end of 5 years those five states have lower unemployment, a higher number of startups, higher ROI per company, and lower crime rates than the averages of the other states, you will agree to not field presidential candidates for 2 cycles. Numbers determined by an accounting firm picked at random, of course.

If those numbers are worse than the average of the other states, we on the Right promise not to field any candidates for any office for 8 years or some other penalty.

I doubt you would ever find a group on the Left to agree to such a wager for an obvious reason.

Apparently, they can spot racism hiding under a rock two miles away...so let them examine the test before it is administered to ferret out the racism. In exchange, if the results still show minorities lagging, they can no longer blame the results on a 'racist' test. They will have nobody to harass, blame or extract privileges from. Think they'll agree to that?

Twenty years is too long to wait for the historians' castigation of this sham of a President - it will come within ten - along with a well-deserved obituary for the legacy media. This speech - another sad, shabby pile of excuses, straw men, red herrings and outright lies - is just another example of how the alleged rhetorical "genius" of Obama was sold (and bought, for that matter) by the Useful Idiot Estate.
I'd say history is repeating itself with Obama vis a vis Caesar, except for the fact that JC with all of his flaws was exponentially more competent than our present duplicitous ass-clown-in-chief. Four more years of this utterly ineffectual and clueless dipshit might be all it takes to end the American Experiment prematurely - and with a whimper, not a bang.

In other words, after seven years both corporate and commercial jets are fully written off, but after five years the corporate jet has been fully written off and the commercial jet is still booking depreciation. The total amount of both planes will be fully written off, it's just a question of when.

This isn't even a tax break, it's a timing issue. And Preznit Dipshit mentioned it six times.

147 The most disengaged President in our history wants...Congress to get off its collective duff? He's kidding- right?

First, Obama is golfing, gratuitously. Honestly, he plays more than Tiger Woods.

Next, he's flying off to fundraisers, for his attempt at reelection. Which really means he is building a war-chest to attack the eventual Republican nominee, because he can't run on accomplishments. He has none. Or at least none he wants to talk about because they are all negatives.

Obama has no frackin clue who is fighting against Gaddafi. Because if he did, he would realize they are the same people we are flaming in A-stan and Iraq. So he builds another strawman- well everybody wants to kill the murderous Gaddafi- right? I mean who doesn't want to kill him; show of hands? Maybe if I use ghetto speak he will get it; yo bitch, you ain't no fuckin king. This ain't yo hood dog. It's the peeps, who are represented by Congress. You can't just do what you want.

The sooner he is gone, the better off our country will be.

A slump continued because of theclass warfare rhetoric of Obama and the Democrats.

149 I just want ONE GOP candidate who will enrage this whining Preening Peeswhank into a screaming hissy fit in the next few months. A reporter in a press conference would also work for me. I want this unstable loon, who is unfit forthe office of trash collection;to have an atomic melt-down, complete with stuttering "uh's," bugging eyes, tourette's tics, and withthepresidential shieldfalling off the podium simulaniously. This would make me very, very happy. My dreamalso consists of him doing a face-plant down the stairs of Air Force Won in full limp-wrist...
Sadly, his adoring masses will still vote for this JEF, either from his hypnotizing 's' sounds and cadence, because of his skin color, or because they are beyond stupid and not paying attention (which makes up the majority of those who vote for the Democrats). Oh, and because the GOP cannot find anyone with cojones to take this fool down, yet...I have eternal optimism mixed in with angst.

156 Funny, my summary for my wife of Obama's presser yesterday was word-for-word exactly what Halperin said. I'm sure he's going to be in a heap of hot water today.

What's most irritating from a journalistic point of view, if you watch the video, is that he *clearly* asked if they were on a delay. His comment was not meant to be aired; a little like asking something to be "off the record" and then having some jackass print it anyway.

But, it is a beautiful moment of anti-Orwellian clarity. And for that I shall cherish it.

161 If Obama is already cracking this bad, he won't even be the nominee next year folks. As Trump showed, for better or worse at the time, Obama cannot take a punch. He has a glass jaw. His first response when challenged is to recoil, and then respond in a bitter and small way, just like the man he truly is. Compare him to Reagan, or GWB even, those men enjoyed the sparring, at least they had the courage of some conviction, and were not afraid to state how they truly felt about things. JEF, on the other hand, lets the mask slip, and we see the scared little only child that nobody had time for when he was little appear, and then the teachings of the collectivists whose arms he ran into for comfort come spewing forth out of his mouth. If indeed this guy is re-elected, no matter who the stupid party runs against him, heaven help us, the republic is dead.

Spent this morning reviewing the "National Strategy for Counterterrorism." It would appear that the president has been busy overseeing the death of bin Laden (mentioned three times in the first three pages) and personally ordering "comprehensive reviews and corrective actions in the immediate aftermath of attempted [terrorist] attacks" (p. 12). So he's simply had to turn a few things over...

The whole thing is an...entertaining... read.
