WH Chief of Staff Daley Calls Obama Economic Policies "Indefensible"

Shut up, really?

Daley couldn’t answer basic questions and continually faced criticism from the executives in the room. The business leaders even applauded each other’s criticism of the administration. “At one point, the room erupted in applause when Massachusetts utility executive Doug Starrett, his voice shaking with emotion, accused the administration of blocking construction on one of his facilities to protect fish, saying government ‘throws sand into the gears of progress,’” wrote Peter Wallsten and Jia Lynn Yang in the Washington Post.

There's more on the NLRB attack against Boeing over their South Carolina plant, including the interesting fact that Daley served on the board of directors at Boeing and voted to build the plant there.

So I agree, these policies would be pretty difficult for Daley to defend. Hell, they'd be difficult for Obama to defend, except he doesn't bother with "explaining" Explaining is for homos.

As was the Indonesian's obvious intention since way back in the primary campaign. The telling point was in the Dem primary debate when the Indonesian was asked if he would want to raise capital gains taxes even if it was assumed that such a raise would actually result in reduced receipts to the government (as history has shown to be the truth). Barky answered that he would still raise capital gains taxes (thus depriving the government - and thus the poor, by leftist thinking - of money) because raising taxes on "the rich" was a "matter of fairness". That meant, "I don't care if the poor get hurt, by my own assessment, so long as I can stick it to the rich and take some of their shit away. I don't care if that confiscated wealth just gets destroyed, so long as the rich feel the pain."

No one with a brain had any excuse to take Barky seriously after that ... and that was long before the general election and Barky's further, open musings about destroying the American economy and our society. "Under my plan, electricity rates would necessarily skyrocket."

34 It's become clear that the Obama administration's strategy going into this presidency has been one of social and institutional reconstruction through high-level bureaucracy. He's unleashed the unchecked power of the EPA, BATFE and other various and sundry governmental entities in an all-out attempt to undermine the will of the people. There has been, and always will be one objective with this guy - the collapse of free enterprise at the expense of centralized governmental planning and control.

"Dad around much? None of us were [CIA]. Was his mother detached?"

"She wasn't the warmest person."

"It all fits the profile. Adams has an over-inflated sense of worth and that carries over into a sense of entitlement. The flip side is that his self-esteem is very fragile. It would be extremely difficult for him to take criticism. To deepen the problem, he lacks empathy, which enables him to be extremely exploitative of others. He feels that he is special...and can only be understood by brilliant people. That he should only associate with others whom he deems talented enough, while at the same time he needs their real talent to validate his underlying insecurities."

"Martyr complex? Always thinks he's getting screwed by someone and needs to let everyone know it?"

It continues on, and sounds very, very much like our Little Barry.

61 The arrogance of this asshole is simply amazing. he flouts the law with impunity and he ignores congress.

He does this because he knows he can get away with it. There are only two things that Congress can do to thwart him. They can impeach him which would have already happened if he was a Republican or they can cut off funding for all of his crap.

The impeachment will NEVER happen for a Democrat. The funding needs one of two scenarios. The normal one where congress passes a funding bill w/o any money for his crap. The problem with that is that it would take an all Republican congress with a veto proof majority so that is not going to happen.

The other method is that the House just stands up on their hind legs and refuses to pass any funding for whole departments. Bone has already shown that he doesn't have the nads for that.

So he will continue to flaunt the law, flaunt congress, and lie like the shit-weasel he is. I'm sure he and his commie buddies sit around in the back rooms of the white house drinking bourbon, smoking cigars, and laughing at the suckers that voted him in office.

69 I tink the reason Daley is there is because Rahm couldn't get Obama to act reponsibly. He is not listening to advisors at all. (Hence the departure of the economic people, who realized if they stayed any longer they wouldn't be able to get jobs anywhere. Most have gone to universities where they already had jobs.)

Now we hear that the attorneys were ignored. I wonder if they will leave. Gates is leaving and his advice has been ignored, too.

What we have hear is an out of control president not listening to anyone, even people within his own party.

I still think that since he would have countermanded the order, they just killed OBL and brought him in after it was too late for him to stop it.

From the WSJ article on the DOJ tossing Melson under the bus:
<<In November, President Barack Obama nominated Andrew Traver, the head of the
ATF's Chicago office, as permanent ATF director. The nomination stalled in the
Senate after the National Rifle Association said Mr. Traver had a "demonstrated
hostility" to the rights of gun owners.

Mr. Traver is set to travel to Washington on Tuesday to meet with Attorney
General Eric Holder and Deputy Attorney General James Cole, the people said. The
administration is weighing whether to name Mr. Traver as acting director or
choose another interim chief while awaiting Senate action on his nomination,
they said.>>
Anyone wanna take bets on Bamster leaving footprints on Congress' collective heads to put his guy in place to trample on the 2nd Amendment?

No. Sounds like an interesting idea, though. 'Might be a bit tricky to keep them from falling apart.

What kind of meat? I would think buffalo might work a little better because it tends to make a more cohesive patty than hamburger or veal. Then again, you could use one of those grilling baskets to cook regular meatballs and probably keep them from falling apart that way.

95 I tink the reason Daley is there is because Rahm
couldn't get Obama to act reponsibly. He is not listening to advisors

have gone to universities where they already had jobs.)

Even his SUPPORTER ... that weirdo Evan Thomas, I think, described Barky's Precedential acceptance speech as "There is a slightly creepy cult of personality about all of this." And that was one of Barky's big supporters in the drooling MFM! Then his mag informed us that "We Are All Socialists Now", after which mention of the word "socialist" was raaaaacist!!Crazy days.

No, I really think he won't. He wants the perqs of being a former President. Although he still gets the one associated with that title if he doesn't go up for re-election, he'd lose most of the ancillary goodies associated with that position... the ones bestowed upon him by a grateful party. No Obama Center for Legal Justice at Hahvahd (or Columbia or wherever). No cushy "special envoy" appointments from the next (Dem) president. And much less of the goodies he wants to get from the European elite.

After two years of his shit, we're finding out that he is on a mission to destroy this country, and fulfill the dreams of those who knew that we'd have to be destroyed from within and said so many times. I don't think so. Those folks are pragmatists. They'll vote for him anyway just to keep some power for the Ds.

I think he'll look for someone charismatic to pull in his young and Progressive voters so he can pretend to be a centrist. I'm not sure who that would be, but Biden really is shaping up to be a liability in the general, especially if the Rs put up Allen West or Marco Rubio as their VP candidate. West, in particularly, would completely defang Biden as he has so much gravitas Biden wouldn't be able to portray him as naive vs his own experience.

155 Just to point out the very last time, and it is exceptional, when a sitting President decided not to run for a second term:

On March 12 1968, McCarthy won 42% of the primary vote to Johnson's 49%, an amazingly strong showing for such a challenger. Four days later, Sen. Robert F. Kennedy of New York entered the race. Internal polling by Johnson's campaign in Wisconsin, the next state to hold a primary election, showed the President trailing badly. Johnson did not leave the White House to campaign.

...In addition, although it was not made public at the time, Johnson became worried about his failing health and was concerned that he might not make it through another four-year term. Therefore, at the end of a March 31 speech, he shocked the nation when he announced he would not run for re-election by concluding with the line: "I shall not seek, and I will not accept, the nomination of my party for another term as your President."

Actual riots, the draft, Vietnam... and vigorous Demotard challengers. Nothing even close to that exists now. Barry is running, so rest easy on that.

166 To make MeatBalls on the grill in a pinch....
Use Heavy Duty Aluminum Foil.
Decide how big a piece you need to fit them all in a single layer.
You'll need an extra inch on all sides too.
Pull off a piece twice that big and fold in half.
Fold up an inch on the four sides to make a shallow basket.
While the grill is still cold,
Place it on the grill and slice one inch long slits through it in between the grates.
Make the slits about an inch apart in a line.
Take it back off the grill and once the grill is hot, oil it or use Pam Spray and put it back on the grill, place your meatballs on it and turn them as needed.
I've used the method to BBQ fish for twenty-five people too.

167 163 Sadly, I concur. However, if we had a
strong Republican party, one
that wasn't afraid of all the negative publicity that ironically they'll
get anyway, they'd be pointing to all the negatives and linking them
directly to the actions of the JEF.This ain'trocket surgery.
We are not, by any measure, better off
than we were three years ago.

A number of them really seem incapable of understanding that they'll be hated either way. Instead they let the media set the narrative, then wonder why they're getting attacked when they should instead be combating the narrative. They don't even have to be flame-throwers about it, either; they can just stick to the facts, because those are bad enough. But most are too frightened.

Anyone else see the shots of Obama, Biden, Boehner, and Kasich playing golf? Obama looks unhappy, almost like he's pouting.
Golf isn't necessarily fun when you're the suckiest golfer in the foursome. NBC just showed some video of presidents playing golf. Obama's swing was the worst. Worse than Clinton's. And Clinton sucks.

Posted by: Twba at June 18, 2011 03:30 PM (5kMdn)

188 Obama's destruction of the American economy is deliberate, and it has become apparent that not all his staff are on board with that.

It's kind of an odd phenomenon I've observed on the left. I think it was Chris Lee at Front Page Magazine that did a bit about sitting in on an ISM training session prepping people to go to Israel and "protest," i.e. harass police, disrupt security, and help suicide bombers.

The training session had two kind of people in it: people who were on board with violence, and squishes. Interestingly enough, a few words tossed out here and there about non-violence and using the term "resistance" instead of "raining rockets down on schoolchildren and blowing up cafes" seemed to satisfy the squishes, even though violence was promised as well.

I guess everyone is a little deluded by their desires, but on the far left it seems to be more psychosis than neurosis if you know what I mean.

So, basically, I think a lot of the Dem staffers in the WH "refuse to know" what's going on with the economy, because it wouldn't let them do what they do. And Obama tells them what he tells us, and they just walk by the fact that it's nonsense and the opposite of what he's actually doing for the most part (except when he slips and starts talking about punishing people or whatever).

Getting a bit back toward the track (although I LOVE grilled meatballson my recurved bow), the amazing thing is that Daley, who is not really a businessman, was unable to respond.
Daley is a LAWYER (yes, he was on the board of a bank founded by a union, but thatdoes not make him a banker). Even a lawyer was not able to formulate a plausible sounding piece of bullshit to defend Obama's economic policies.

WH Insider:OK, you asked mewhat I meant by Daley's Golf Ball's. Basically, Daley's got 'em (laughs) I'vegot it on excellent authority that this was porbably the most epic [expletive] dressing-down in the White House since Hillary in '98. Daley's in the Oval Office, doors closed, and all they hear is muffling talking, then what sounds like sharp words--from both of 'em, then all of a sudden Daley booms out,"No more G------m GOLF unless you've got a Republican to chaperone!" Then the door swings open and Daley strides out with a look on his face like he's already on to the next agenda item--which is probablyconfiscating the keys to Marine One--and goes back to his office. Five minutes later, and this part is so unbelievable I worry about my source, five minutes later, Valerie Jarrett is scurrying into Daley's office with a cup of coffee! And as good as all this sounds, wait 'til you hear what's going on with Issa......

196 This may be a small issue...but I was all set to unload a schadenfreude haymaker at this Massachusetts "utility executive," Doug Starrett, for being part of the permanent Red-Dem Mass Power Structure and then COMPLAINING when the "let's bankrupt the coal companies" President hurts his power plant...

Well, I WAS all set, but in double-checking Mr. Starrett, turns out he is NOT a "utility executive" (i.e., quasi-govt. official) but a red-blooded manufacturer capitalist, with no discernible ties to the power structure.

In fact, Mr. Starrett has donated money to the Club for Growth, and he manages to run a $220 mil/year factory in the People Republic of Taxachusetts. Far from a hypocrite, he is a f$&king hero!! "You're a better man than I am, Gunga Din"--I left that sick place in 1998.

The Daily Caller f'd up the WaPo's original story, which described Starrett as a "manufacturing executive," NOT "utility."

That really was a great scene with Dailey, then.

197 Meatballs on the Grill
Hell yeah, I do Kafta Balls on the grill all the time:
1.5 lbs ground beef
1/2 cup parsley, finely chopped
1 medium onion, finely chopped
1/2 tsp black pepper
1/2 tsp allspice
1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
1 tbsp salt
Mix everything but beef, then add beef and mix well. Roll into balls a little bigger than an egg. They grill easier if you flatten them just a little before cooking, and they'll turn back into balls when they cook. Good with rice, flatbread, hummus, salad, etc. but not for spaghetti sauce.

here is no denying that buying Swiss Replica Watches
has become a trend in modern society. However, it is not an easy task
to find a high quality one especially you a freshman in the related
field. You have to collect as much information as you can about the
retailer who you are going to deal with because its credit standing
directly influences the quality to the timepiece. Therefore, Replica Rolex
of guidelines are offered for you to make a right decision.

Firstly, you can never to too cautious on checking the details of a
replica watch. A reputable website usually comes with a good number of
pictures which display the watch details such as markings, engravings,
materials and dial face features. Everyone wants to buy an imitation
with high grade leather strap or stainless steel bracelet. Usually
speaking, the quality Rolex Replica
is made up of sapphire crystal glass and Swiss made movement so that
the durability and time accuracy are ensured.

Secondly, make sure that you are buying from a reliable source. It
should be evaluated before you make a choice on the style. As far as we
know, there are a large number of dealers who are doing the similar
business. At a temporary time, it is impossible to have a thorough
knowledge about all of them. Thus, you are recommended to search as much
information as you can to evaluate its reputation. For a good Rolex Daytona,
it always comes with available telephone number which can be used for
consultant or online services. What is more, the trustworthy website
guarantees periodical refund for quality issue Swiss Replica Omega.
According to my experience, the best way is to check the customer
satisfaction including the positive and negative feedbacks from the
previous buyers.
