Sen. Durbin To Hold Hearings on American Muslim Civil Rights

Alternate headline: Grandstanding fool to roll out red carpet for group of non-stop whiners that face less discrimination and "hate crimes" than several other groups, according to FBI data, including Jews, gays, and (shock!) Caucasians. Maybe that's too long?

Democratic Sen. Dick Durbin (Ill.) announced Tuesday that he will hold Congress' first-ever hearing on the civil rights of American Muslims next week. The hearing comes a little more than two weeks after a Republican in Congress made headlines by holding a controversial hearing on the radicalization of Muslim Americans.

The release announcing the hearing said it is in response to the "pike [sic] in anti-Muslim bigotry in the last year including Quran burnings, restrictions on mosque construction, hate crimes, hate speech, and other forms of discrimination."

As has been noted repeatedly, though few Democrats dare to publicly acknowledge it, discrimination and hate crimes against Jews in the United States exceed same directed at Muslims by an order of magnitude. Sen. Durbin goes on in his statement to jaw about religious freedom and intolerance. If he had an ounce of integrity, he would recognize that "anti-Muslim bigotry" is a fraction of what Jews face. Muslims are just more vocal about it because they've got a friendly audience in Washington.

Democrats have made a fetish of holding the Muslim community's hand. Why such attention paid to Muslim sensibilities? Well, you don't see radical Jews blowing up buildings, shooting our troops, threatening beheadings, and funding terrorism abroad, do you?

Funny thing, back in the day, when Israelis did things like bomb the King David Hotel, the left couldn't get enough of them. The Weavers had a hit with the kibbutz dance Tzena, Tzena. Once they settled down to a dull old parliamentary democracy, the elite switched sides, virtually mid-rant.

I don't think the country is going to buy it (at least the ones who would already have), and it keeps the delightful RORIP in the news (not that it doesn't manage to keep itself there all on its own). I think this will backfire on Dick...couldn't happen to a better guy.
Dick thinks he can cultivate a new voting bloc for himself, and he's getting sweet money love from certain Islamic groups...so of course he's going to give them tongue baths and just about anything else they want.

By here you mean in the US? Some surveys say as many as 3 times as many Jews as Muslims but others say closer but they are old. At this point I would say they are about the same or slightly more Muslims.

So your implication is that Jews and Muslims experience hate crimes in the same numbers proportional to their populations?

Get your head out of your ass, buddy.

87 Palin was pretty awesome on Greta last night. She said all the 'peace talks' until now seem to only focus on Isreal giving up land and concessions but 'nobody ever puts their foot down on the Palestinians and tells them they need to stop the shelling and bombing.' - Good. Stuff.

89 Awkward Question #1A:
"Mr. Witness, you'll notice from the fistfight breaking out in the corner of the room that prior witnesses Jeff Carter, Rocks, and Empire of Jeff have some issues with the earlier statistical analysis regarding the ratio of hate crimes per population size. Can you take this opportunity to clarify your estimates of the relative sizes of the U.S Jewish and U.S.Muslim populations, and on the numerical levels of the hate crimes being directed at each? At this point, additional anecdotal evidence would also be welcome, at least until we wait for the U.S.Marshals to pry those three apart."

92 Saw a CNNcommercial making this an issue of Freedom of religion v. fear of terror.
Islam kills apostates, blasphemers, dishonorable women, and so on. This is accepted sharia law.
So it's more accurately termed freedom of religion v. a religion which opposes freedom of religion and all our basic post-Enlightenment freedoms.Hell, many Muslims rejectthe Treaty of Westphalia.
Durbin is a contemptible piece of treasonous excrement.

93 "Saw a CNNcommercial making this an issue of Freedom of religion v. fear of terror."

Well that's just what it is, man, because if you don't have the freedom to impose your religion on the unwilling, then, like, in what sense are you truly free?

94 I've got your civil rights right here.

Your ability to exercise your rights will come to an end when your actions, methods, or pattern of behavior appears TO ME to be on a collision course with my life, liberty, or pursuit of happiness. I PERSONALLY will bring to an end any and all efforts on your part to continue on this course.

More concisely:
Your rights stop where they encounter mine.

OR
as we say in Tejas:
Come and take it.
