| The Greatest Blog Post Ever Written? He's referring to that HuffPo post by Lee Stranahan you might have seen yesterday, in which he, a liberal, actually analyzes whether the liberal media is guilty of bias and partisanship (and unamericanism to, I'd add myself) in embargoing the death threats made by liberals against conservatives. And he answers the question unambiguously. Why isn't the mainstream media talking about the death threats against Republican politicians in Wisconsin? Try to set aside whatever biases or preconceptions you might have for a moment and ask yourself why death threats against politicians aren't considered national news, especially in the wake of the all too fresh shooting of Rep. Gabrielle Giffords and other bystanders. And there hasn't just been one death threat, but a number of them. ... After the Giffords shooting, authorities have to take this sort of threat seriously. The media should too, even if the disturbed person who sent that email was motivated by exactly the kind of rhetoric that's been used by many liberals against GOP officials over and over again during the Madison protests. And there are more threats floating around the internet, in varying degrees of scary and credible. ... Ignoring the story of these threats is deeply, fundamentally wrong. It's bad, biased journalism that will lead to no possible good outcome and progressives should be leading the charge against it. Just before writing this article, I did a Google search and it's stunning to find out that the right wing media really isn't exaggerating -- proven death threats against politicians are being ignored by the supposedly honest media. If you've never agreed with a single thing that Limbaugh, Bill O'Reilly et al have said about anything, you can't in any good conscience say that they don't have a point here. Death threats are wrong and if a story like Wisconsin is national news for days, then so are death threats. ... Burying the death threat story is a clear example of intellectual dishonesty and journalistic bias.Of course, he's being called a traitor. If the truth is treachery let's have more such treason. Thanks to rdbrewer for putting this up in the sidebar. Comments1
The irony is that now he is probably getting death threats that the media is also ignoring.

A new conservative will arise from his ashes as he starts to question other liberal bs he has not been noticing his whole life. Posted by: Guy Fawkes at March 18, 2011 03:55 PM More like an old liberal dies and a new liberal rises from its ashes: my position on political issues hasn't changed but I'd be lying if I didn't say I'm deeply disappointed by the virulent, lockstep attitude I see on the left. My experience in the last few months tells me what I would not have believed possible; on any number of issues (including Pigford, by the way) I've seen liberals act much nastier and with less factual honesty than the conservatives... and this includes on issues where I disagree with conservatives. Attorney Robert Dreps, an expert on the state open meetings law, said he did not believe the conference committee could meet with such short notice. State law generally requires a 24-hour notice for public meetings, but can be called with just two hours notice when more notice is impossible or impractical, said Dreps, who has represented the Journal Sentinel in the past. “I can’t imagine how they can meet that standard,” he said. This is what they are ruling on? But, according to the Wisconsin Senate Chief Clerk, they were in Special Session, operating under Senate Rule 93 (2)where “no advance notice is required other than posting on the legislative bulletin board.”

Experiencing Media bias is a lot like being bullied to outsiders it might seem like no big deal but once your the target their is no mistaking it. Both the bully and the bullied are acutely aware of what is being done it can be a awful even a traumatic experience at times leaving you feeling demoralized and helpless.

What I found most significant about this report is the brilliance of Andrew Bartbreit. By asking a lefty to work with him on a joint project, the lefty saw for himself what he otherwise would have never beleived, or investigated on his own. Great thinking out ofthe box,AB.
It's not like it could happenwith any liberal. Patterico said: It is Lee Stranahan at the Huffington Post, a lefty for whom I have never had anything but the utmost respect. So much so that, when he was looking for a way to get in touch with Andrew Breitbart, I not only made the introduction but told Andrew that this was a lefty who was honest and whom he could trust. With all due respect to Stranahan for his outbreak of honesty and the ability to notice the obvious, he strikes me more as a German bystander in elder days saying that "maybe Jews aren't all bad," rather than as having taking a solid position on essential morality.
Mind you, that's enough to make him an outcast. Nowhere near greatest anything, I hope Stranahan realizes how long he's been ignoring this until now. BECAUSE of leftist domination of the MBM, a leftist can go day in and day out without ever hearing opposing voices speak for themselves, without editing or "context." Conservatives pretty much talk about what the left's doing, we don't have that luxury except in a very few places. Stranahan needs to realize not just *what* has happened in the last few months, but the last hundred years, and why. Babysteps don't make the "greatest post" in anything. Posted by: Merovign, Dark Lord of the Sith at March 18, 2011 06:13 PM (bxiXv) 155
I thought it was an excellent piece. Normally, when a progressive/lib writes a piece like this one, they can't help but insert digs at conservatives. Aside from declaring his liberal bona fides at the start of the article and a short section at the end where he gives liberals far too much credit (along the lines of "surely we can do better"), he really sticks to the truth as he sees it without trying to sugar coat things.
There's no point in comparing it to pieces written by people on the right, unless those folks have written similar testimonies about their come to Jesus moments in a liberal or progressive venue. Simply writing this article was brave enough and deserves accolades, imho. Posted by: Y-not now with 90% more gloom at March 18, 2011 06:15 PM (pW2o8) 156

Stranahan's piece is "meh." But I hope - really hope - he's getting a good long look at the comments to his piece. For every R saying "welcome to the party, pal" and L saying "hey, you might have a point," there are dozens of idiot ergs posting variations of "they're lying about threats" or "fuck them, they deserve it." I hope it opens Stranahan's eyes as to the company he keeps, but I doubt it. As has been posted before, I'm sure he'll find some way to grovel and take it back up the squeakhole from his lefty masters.
But here's the thing. We joke a lot here about stringing the left up from lampposts - but reading the comments to Stranahan and to almost every post at Althouse is turning me cold. I've just about given up thinking any leftist is a fellow American. In my darkest moments, I want there to be a revolution. I want them to die. I want them pissing their pants as they get shoved in front of a firing squad. That's not America. That's not how we roll. But, my God, these cockholsters are making it easier and easier every day for people like me to take that last step and say exterminate them all. They're playing with fire and they don't care!
