Obama Post Election Press Conference

So far Obama's major nod to getting whooped last night is to speak slower and with a tinge of sorrow in his voice. Beyond that? Nope, not really.

Big Takeaway...Obama rejects notion that his policies were rejected by voters last night. Says his policies are not moving the nation backwards, rejects notion that was message of last night.

He's not going the Clinton way.

It would have been much shorter and much more honest if he just said what he really wants to say, "Let me be clear, I'm still awesome. If you aren't smart enough to get that, it's on you not me."

Quality M.K. Ham snark

Obama at 1:20: "Let's not relitigate the past." Obama at 1:24: "We already had a large deficit, which I inherited."

Running Updates:

10th question...do voters think you are out of touch and will you change your style. "Folks didn't have any questions about my leadership style when I was in Iowa for a year"...Running for office is NOT leadership.

Breaking...Obama seems to want you to know being President is hard.

Suffice it to say, Obama is not the warmest man in the world. Now he's throwing a pity party for himself.

9th question...Slurpie summit gets laugh. Will Obama offer 'reset' button to business community. Sure..I'll say nice things about business. Why not, he's spent two years killing them, doesn't hurt to say something nice about the dead.

He's just going on about how tough it was because of circumstances that he seemed tough on business. He really loves it. BS.

8th question...Slurpeee! Car in the ditch! You kind of got rejected on that, what's your thought? DADT repeal...kind of dead, right?

Obama says DADT repeal is right thing to do if done in orderly fashion. Avoids answer question. Says it might be addressed in Zombie Democrat session better than letting courts decide.

Doubles down on ditch metaphor.

7th question...Since Cap and Trade is dead, what about EPA regulations. Do you feel bad about cutting backroom deals to pass ObamaCare? he says process was mess and that's regrettable. Policy itself was worth it.

On EPA-We'll try legislation again. But EPA may have to act, too early to say how it will work out.

6th question(s)...Where will you compromise on tax cuts? What's it feel like to get you ass kicked? Obama says, 'it feels bad'. Why is it bad...because good Democrats lost. He doesn't get that he should feel bad about foisting unpopular and ineffective policies on the country.

5th question...you said elections have consequences when you won. Now that you've lost, what are you going to compromise on? Obama...Not too much.

4th question...You know that more big spending for jobs is history, right? So what are you going to do? Answer...pretty much the same as what I did before. He's just running down his same old list of projects for like the 5th time. He just doesn't get it...no means no.

3rd question...About that repealing health care thing. Obama says, let's not re-fight the last two years, let's move on to more awesome stuff. Yeah, good luck with that. Shockingly, he just doesn't get it.

Obama says 1099 provision in HCR was designed to raise money to pay for other provisions. You mean like a tax? I thought he said taxes didn't go up?

2nd question...Hey, you're really not taking any responsibility here. Should voters think you "don't get it". Here's where the petulance starts to show. He's basically saying, "aw, it was tough and people don't get how awesome I am". At this point he just sounds like the teacher from Charlie Brown.

He also said they did so much because it was an emergency. Gee, governments never justify power grabs under the guise of an 'emergency' or anything.

1st question...are you going to admit that it was not just the economy but your agenda that led to defeat. Obama's basic answer...hell no. It was just the economy. Good, I prefer it when they are arrogant and stupid. And this answer is just rambling on and on and on.

So far no, "I inherited this". Also, no acknowledgment that what's been done has made things worse or that it was rejected. Says let's not re-fight last two years. Good luck with that.

He says he's looking forward to hear ideas from Republicans. Just like when he said, "I won". Difference this time...he didn't win.

He says answers aren't to be found on bumper sticker. Guy who coined "Yes we can" hit hardest.

Obama says parties need to work together then runs down standard laundry list of Democratic policy priorities. Yeah, not so much next time.

Americans want to know that their kids aren't being "drowned in a sea of debt."-So then why did you run up all that debt then?

He's saying all the nicey, nice things. The anger and petulance will come out in questions when he's challenged.

Original Post
I'm sure the President will be gracious and contrite in defeat. He'll take the historic rebuke by the American people to heart and rethink his destructive politics.

Or you know, not.

What's the over/under on questions he takes and average length of his answers?

I'm guessing 8 questions and 7 minutes per answer.

W goes next, and the barber again offers some aftershave. "Sure. My wife doesn't know what a whorehouse smells like."

HE LIES!!!

He actually said that the people want their dollar to stretch farther. Is that before or after you allow this Q2 or whatever plan to purposely devalue the dollar by 20%, I mean seriously.Does he think we aren't paying attention?
He mentions civility.Civility went out the window a year ago with him and his arrogant nymphs spat in the faces of the people on a daily basis, with his number one nymph, Pelosi and her squad of sub nymphs walked out in front of pissed off Americans, hammer in hand to pass the single worst piece of legislation that this country has ever seen.

No mister president, we will not follow "your" ideology, we will not blink and we will only fake civility up until you and your nymphs look at us cross eyed or whimper on how nothing is getting done.

We put a new crop of leaders into place not to give us a watered down version of the plans that you have for us but to turn tail and run in the opposite direction from them.

Now thats about all I can type while I'm in this mood of civility.I need to stop for now and kick a kitten or something to blow off steam.

It drives me completely crazy that people like it (though that doesn't surprise me) and that Conservatives/Republicans point to it as an "accomplishment." (which does, a little).

I get that you (we, really) want to deny him what he sees as a victory, and I don't really have a good answer of how to do that and still repudiate the whole concept, but it still really bugs me.

Quite frankly, I hate Medicare and Comprehensive Medical Coverage in general. If I could do one thing to help "fix" medical care here in the United States, I'd get rid of anything except Catastrophic/Major Medical coverage.

A doll wearing a dark blue suit and red tie, and with Mr Obama's face carefully screen-printed onto its head, was exhibited at the recent 8th Sex Culture Festival in the southern city of Guangzhou.

The doll was photographed by Chinese state media nestling behind several other standard plastic female toys.

We should be building tunnels, railroads, bridges, yet all republicans can do is give tax cuts. Actually they said even less than that. They said in their great leap of non-logic that IF the Bush EPA was going to choose to not regulate CO2 the EPA had to show that it was NOT a pollutant.Never mind that the EPA's own founding required them to show via scientific evidence that something WAS a pollutant before enacting it.
I have a feeling that if that case was to make it back to the court now it would be reversed.

349 Great. The guy who just last week called us enemies is calling on everyone to 'tone down the rhetoric'. OK.

BTW, I can't believe this idiot actually mentioned the 'clean energy agenda' as something that must go forward. I'm about halfway through a new book called 'Power Grab' by Chris Horner which is all about this green jobs garbage.. and I just can't believe it. In the cap and trade bill, even the democrats knew it would destroy our economy because they put in 'energy stamp' payments for people who lose their job after its passed. Its sick. They are actually counting on promoting a recession to get to their goals. John F'n Kerry actually said they were almost 1/4 of the way to their goal just because of the current economic collapse. Its sick. These people wack to poverty.
Its so obvious the rich people promoting this crap are counting on becoming the new permanent aristocracy by shutting the door to social mobility. Sick.
Get a hold of that book. Its called 'power grab' by chris horner who is the senior fellow at some thinktank. (sorry can't remember)
I live in CA and cannot believe prop 23 failed. People are sheep. The commercials being played by the anti prop 23 people actuallyshowed smokestacks and how 'the evil oil companies want to dump mercury into childrens drinking water' .. Its sad, but people out here really are sheeple.
The global warming final solutions act plans to actually raise gas prices to $9 a gallon in the coming years.. People really don't understand that truck drivers pay the same rate.. hence food prices will go up to insane levels. When I say this to people their eyes glaze over and eventually say something like 'well so you think Bush was a great president?' ... actual words from a conversation with my father on this point. Unbelievable.

That's a lie. The economy and finanacial system had stabilized. Then, right after the inauguration, the market went into a major nose dive, contemplating the insanity that America had just thrust onto itself. It was the $860 billion giveaway that stopped the market fall, which was caused by Barry's presence, to begin with. But, the economy was just slowed down, by that waste, in its natural cleansing cycle - and then further sickened by the strangling of every bit of private enterprise the adminsitration or Congress could get their hooks into.

That's how it went.

The next to years are going to be very dangerous place. Iran, N. Korea and probably China will all want to make some moves in the next two years. Iran and N. Korea to make certain that the U.S. understands that they no longer hold any sway over either of them. Iran also wants to send a message to the rest of the Muslim countries in that region. 408 #352 - I agree. I'm disappointed in this election because it was the revolution I'd been hoping for. But Obama's reaction is the best possible response for Republicans. What with the liberal spinners and sycophants who have his ear, in 2 weeks he'll be convinced that he's still the Man of Destiny, and will continue doing what he's done for the past 2 years. Two years of Obama's sneering and cement-head policies resulted in a great Republican comeback. Another two years of the same will lead to the obliteration of the Democrats. Still, it's uncanny to see someone his age so incapable of learning or change. He's like an 80-year old codger, set in his ways - no mental flexibility or even imagination.

For every mainstream, anti-capitalist, anti-Western civ, anti-American, anti-republican book you are assigned; read one book that promotes those things. Think of it as transgressive literature....that way you can keep your hip street cred with your peers ("Like, I'm reading books that contain a transgressive narrative to the status quo memes my profs are shoving at me, man...you know, like, I don't like to be told how to think dude").

421 Countries like China are gonna surpass us with their infrastructure
because they invest in their nation...we just want each american to get
more tax cuts so we can buy more big macs.

Uh, China is a third-world hellhole. 80% of its people live in poverty. The government tortures and murders you if you don't bow before the red book. And their "infrastructure" is nothing more than a Potemkin village on a massive scale, all to be abandoned if not swept away by dust storms when their ridiculously over-inflated bubble bursts. But, because you and Chris Matthews are lefty retards, it's a good thing when you build entire cities that are completely absent of any human life or activity. Think of all the construction jobs that were created!

You, Chrissy, and Tom Friedman can go circle-jerk each other while fantasizing about America transforming into the impoverished totalitarian hell that is China.

And one more thing, retard. Americans don't just buy Big Macs with those tax cuts (setting aside the fact that the country is far better off when people buy Big Macs than when government vaporizes that wealth at the altar of union scum). They, you know, invest and directly create the jobs that are performed by everyone who isn't a blood-sucking tick on the public dime. You'd know that if you ever had a chance of landing a job.

Clinton is very sharp yet carefully avoided speaking down to the American People in his public addresses.Clinton alsoargued positions beyond rehashing the tired campaigntalkingpoints about special interests and whatnot. He Doesn't
Get It

Was just watching Obama's post-election press conference, and
several minutes in, he said something that shows, beyond doubt, that he
just doesn't get it.
In response to a question, and showing some
emotion, he bemoaned how many "great public servants" went down to
defeat, and said that "words cannot express" his admiration for their
courage and the fact that they lost because they cast tough votes for
his policies, knowing it was going to cause them "political problems."

Wow. There you have it, in his own words. He saves his greatest
admiration for those who knowingly vote against the
will of the people.

478 The troll donkeyhotay loves slave labor. He wants us to be like Communist China, because all his unionized teacher bots in jr. high told him it was great. They (using slave labor) build huge things, clumsy hugeugly things out of concrete like empty cities; which is creating a huge real estate bubble - oh wait, donkey is a dimwitted slackjawed idiot living in his mamma's basement (while she works the sidewalk) and has no concept nor facility with math, Constitutional law, history, nor economics other than that spouted by marxist traitors. He doesn't realize how utterly moronic he is to anyone with any experience at all in the marketplace or life itself.
Here's a hint, buttercup. Marxists are the same breed as Nazis. They only have different approaches to murder. Otherwise International Socialism (Barry, Stalin, and the like) is exactly the same as National Socialism (fascism, hitlerism) except for how they pick and justify the killing of their victims.
There is no difference between donkeyhotay and a slave trader. Both love slave labor, both view people as things to control and to destroy, and both are enemies of all mankind. Yeah, you, along with your treasonous marxist you call a president. You are not American, you're a domestic enemy of the Constitution. You don't have a right to even speak to us. 479 Just happened to be reading the Limbaugh Letter last night (truly a mind numbed robot of the nth degree). Interesting interview with Dinesh D'Souza about how Obama's background informs his policies and views now.
Rush's call was that Obama would indeed "double down" if the Republicans won in a pretty big way. Nothing I read here refuted that.
My guess is that he will stand pretty fast on most of his policies and legislation, spinning that it is Republicans' jobs to compromise with HIM, to propose constructive legislation that HE is comfortable with.If things get better it is because of HIS good works and HIS capacity to forge non-partisan alliances as he promised he would do. If things get worse, well, look no further than the new Republican congress who promised voters the moon, when all they were doing was interrupting the progress HE was making. I listened to as much of his press conference as I could tolerate this afternoon, and my guess would be pretty much the same as yours. He doesn't get it - that's the first thing that came to mind. He really doesn't get it. He hasn't had to deal with not getting his own way before, and he doesn't know how to, or even want to, compromise. In his mind, there are now 240 people in Washington to blame, besides Bush, for Obama's own narcissistic ineptness. Compromise is work. Obama doesn't want to have to work for anything...that's why having a lock on the House and the Senate was such a sweet deal for him. He didn't have to do anything more strenuous than make a few phone calls, pose for a few photo ops, preen for the MFM, and let Congress do the rest.

Won't be such a cakewalk now.

Did Bush hold a press conference after the November 2006 elections?

Yes, that's where he called the election "a thumpin'".

490 What do you call the EPA, Dept of Education, and Dept of Energy without any operating funds?
A great place to start.
I got fucking road map to solvency for our Republic: Defund every regulatory department in the federal government. Let the chips fall where they may. When the dust clears delegate the oversight and regulation to the states.
If you think that is extreme, what the fuck do you call what these regulatory bastions of communist tyranny now?
Besides, no where in the US Constitution that defines and gives jurisprudence to the separate powers is there any legal justification or excuse for the existence of these 3, and a multitude of other bloated overbearing Liberty crushing monstrosities within our Republican form of Government.
It is the Easy Button of restoring Constitutional Government. No messing around, no partisan and special interest bickering, no prolonged kangaroo Supreme Court dog and pony shows. Take the money away, the whole problem evaporates in a NewYork minute.

My only fear is that some of those people are so rabid in their agendas that defundinjg their salaries wouldn't be enough. You would also have to defund supporting the offfice buildings, have the electricity and water shut off, padlock the doors, and station armed guards outside to keep them from getting in.

You would also have to lock them out of the government we sites, or they would be harassing businesses from their homes.

I just like to get the details worked out in advance.
